The Age of Earth Ended in the year 2071, After the third world war and the Great overturning of most world governments, shortly afterwards came fusion reactors and Matter reconstruction technologies that resulted in earth becoming a post scarcity civilization. They spent the next several thousand years expanding across the cosmos. Sadly however mankind learned they were indeed alone in the universe, surrounded by Dead civilizations and ruins all over the worlds that dot the sky. Eventually we filled the entire galaxy and the Age of Struggle began. Great as our civilization was, Political tension began to grow and it seemed as though war would break out until the discovery of Pocket dimensions within the cosmos once Again captured mankind curiosity. Entire Realms were discovered and While we still found no signs of life, we did find The Realm of Magic.
A pocket dimension seeming to contain within it all the components of our own universe, but in a raw state which could react to Thoughts and Emotions. Over time the practice spread across the galaxy and sorcery became one of the newest paths in life. The political tensions began to rise again and threatened to kick off a war of ten thousand worlds, yet a cabal of Sorcerers called the Cosmic Hand arose and took command of the entire galaxy. While they ruled for millennia With kindness and Fairness…their reign would inevitably doom mankind. When the Cosmic hand took over they began to push the teaching of magic as a part of basic education, and magic would come to merge with technology forming an incredibly complex civilization in which Nothing was outside of their reach.

10,000 years Ago
The Age of Struggle finally ended when the last world was Magified, Instant communication and A network of dimensional Tunnels connected well over 100,000 worlds. Humanity was mightier even than the legends of gods from the Age of Earth. Yet soon they came to realize why they were alone, why the world was full of dead civilizations, and Why Ancient man seemed to turn violently against magic. The Realm of Magic was not a new discovery, Finding the Opalescent Lotus taught us that others found the dimension, but we didnt know how many did…ALL civilizations eventually found the Realm of Magic, and None could pass up the Power that came with it, endless energy, the ability to rewrite reality itself. Yet this power had a strange effect on the psyche of all who found it. Once contact was made with magic, the user would always strive to take in more of it. Eventually enough magic would build up that a Cosmic Roil would occur.
A roil is basically an event triggered when too much magic occupies one point in space. Portals, Nodes, and Laylines can mitigate this by spreading the magic, but even still occasionally a mage would trigger a Roil by gathering too much magic into themselves. The result is a random and chaotic change in the local physics. Sometimes it can be harmless…other times entire worlds would perish in an instant. A Cosmic Roil is just what it sounds like. A Roil of entire section’s of the cosmos, where stars can be snuffed out, planets turned into barren rocks, and Nebula expanding until they become Invisible gas clouds.
It was about 1,500 years ago when the Entire Milky Way Galaxy was Struck with a tremendous Roil, and The great empire of mankind was Brought to ruin. Warp Paths collapsed, Reactors and Generators exploded, Communications & Power were cut across the entire galaxy, worse terraforming engines and enchantments shut down causing entire planets to revert. Yet this was just the tip of the iceberg. New life sprang up across the cosmos, the non-intelligent lifeforms of the galaxy mutated and morphed into great beasts and mystic creatures. Overnight mankind was cut off from one another, those few survivors of the once godlike civilization were forced to irk out a living on whatever worlds could still hold life, and in many cases they were no longer at the top of the ladder. Yet some worlds were better off than others, some faced extinction, some only faced armageddon. Yet history would record this great empire as the Golden Age of Man, A time when WE were gods. Though the actual details from that era were lost to a good many.

Thandry
The world of Thandry is a huge planet roughly eight times the size of earth, but filled with hollow chambers and altered physics that allow it to maintain a very earth like climate and gravitational field. It is said that its denizens reached the world in The “Great Iron Mountain” At the Exact same time the Fall of the Golden Age occurred. The first Denizens Took shelter in the iron mountain which fell to the planets surface in a cloak of fire and Thunder. It took them nearly two generations to begin to expand and with the “Great iron mountains” systems and functions no longer working and those who understood them having died out the people began to spread out and form tribes.
Eventually a Fire spread within the Great iron mountain and The Few who remained were also forced out. They spread out along with the others and these tribes relationships would begin to grow tumultuous with one another and communications would cease. Hundreds of years would pass and One particular group of people calling themselves the Amarat Tribe would build a massive raft and sail across the ocean until they reached the island of Potessa. The other tribes would continue to expand across the first major continent of Zabri forming multiple nations and expanding to fill the entire Continent.

The Nation of Amtessa
(Capital City of Marat.)
The Amarat tribe would fill their island and go on to fill the neighboring lands eventually becoming the Nation of Amtessa. This peaceful hermit nation sits upon an chain of islands roughly half the size of Texas but with its landmass stretching as a single long island chain of thirteen different “Province’s”. The northernmost provincial island is a cold Tundra with a small population, the Southernmost Provincial Island likewise has a small population all built around the northern coast city with the rest of the island being a desert. The other islands are all tropical paradise like lands with the density of vegetation increasing the closer you get to the central island.
Amtessa holds a population now of almost 60 million people distributed across its 13 islands. However it is not the only nation as it very recently learned. Vessels coming from the Main continent, The same land that the ancients left upon their raft have landed and disgorged invaders on three different islands. Amtessa Guard forces responded quickly, but still it took them nearly two months to dislodge the invaders and the King of Amtessa knows more attacks will come. Thus he set out a decree to bolster the guard forces with a Draft, and arguably more important, to put together an Force to sail across the Narrow sea and set up fortifications along the shoreline to prevent other raids from ever crossing into their territory.

Surrounded by Warriors both Magical and Mundane, You must sail across a narrow sea to Attack a nation that attacked yours a few short months ago. Perhaps you were already a warrior? Perhaps you were one of the hastily trained and armed conscripts? Regardless you will go down in history as a hero in the world of Thandry’s first War.)
