Hi there, Forgefan speaking.

I have recently taken an interest in doing some rp but i have no friends to do d&d with, so i went looking through the interwebs and found this site, so i ask you, the community, is there anything i should know before heading into the world of roleplaying?

Thanks in advance,

Welcome to the site!

One-liners are generally frowned upon, but some RPs don't mind it

*s are usually not used to describe action

Try to keep OOC (out of character) and IC (in character) in their respective tabs

That's all ya really know >~<

There are informations tabs and stuff if you want to go check them out

Hello, Forgefan! Welcome to RPN and, as a whole, the wonderful world of roleplaying!

I think the first replier did a good job of summing up some basic stuff. All of that usually does depend on the kind of roleplay you are doing, alongside what your roleplay partner prefers so don't sweat that too much :)

There aren't exactly any specific 'rules' when it comes to roleplaying and I think that's why it's so great! Roleplays are all about getting to express your desires the way you want and sort of build your own little story, if you will. You can be whoever you want, build whatever type of plot that appeals to you-- as long as everything you and your partner are doing is fun, mutually consented and respectable, there should be no harm! I've been doing roleplays for about over four years now, bordering five, so please don't hesitate to drop me a message if you have any questions, concerns, or just want to make a friend! Have fun!

Welcome! *tosses confetti around* I'm glad you've found people to help you out. Like the first person said, most people don't use *'s in actual roleplays, but some people use it for more OOC stuff.
