BOON:

BANE:

PERSONALITY:
Lily is a very trusting and a friendly person overall. She tries to get the most out of life. She always tries to put a smile on hoping her being happy might rub off on others. She can be a little absent-minded and often makes rather careless mistakes, usually not in the middle of combat though. She wants people to feel safe around her and confident in her abilities, which is the main reason she forces a smile out especially in dire situations. Despite how she acts she is a rather uncertain person and constantly questions her own actions. She doesn't have the greatest mind for tactics and she is a risk-taker, sometimes an accidental one. But she would never take a risk on anyone's life but her own.

HISTORY/BIO:
Lily grew up travelling with her father from town to village buying an selling what they could as a part of a merchant caravan called the "Mercantile Movers". It wasn't the best to constantly be on the road and Lily usually gave her father a hard time when ever it was time to go back on the road, she often got attached to places they stayed and didn't want to leave. Growing up in a caravan she met a variety of people, one of them a retired soldier which she got along with very well. He was the one who taught her everything she knows about the bow. As the years went on the roads got increasingly more dangerous and rumors of vampire and werewolf attacks spread quickly. Lily felt cooped up and longed for something new instead of the same routine she had performed her entire life. She was hesitant to make a huge step on her own. Finally one morning she found out that the retired soldier she spent so much time with was killed by a vampire in the night. This was enough to finally make up her mind. This was a problem and she was going to do something about it. Despite protests from her father she met with a hunter in town and joined the ranks.

PERSONALITY:
Beowulf is a kind, noble, and just man. He strives to be a paragon of justice in this dark world, however, he does have a rather infamous hot streak. He has a tendency to be prideful and arrogant, and he loves a good fight. Despite this however, he does wish for the greater good, which is to rid the world of the monsters and beasts that plague the dark.

HISTORY/BIO:
Beowulf was born into the hunters, being the only son of the former Ace Hunter Uther. Uther is a hearty, jovial man, loving nothing more than the thrill of the hunt, aside from his son Beowulf. Beowulf was trained and groomed into being a master hunter by his father, preparing him for the day when he would take up his father's mantle as Ace Hunter. While Uther was a good father, he was a ruthless trainer. Not out of cruelty, but to prepare Beowulf for the kinds of horrors he would experience when facing fiends such as Vampires and Werewolves. Beowulf proved himself to be a prodigy hunter, killing his first quarry at the age of nine, albeit by striking a lucky blow against the creature after being backed into a corner.

Beowulf wouldn't truly make a name for himself until age fourteen, when he and his father were hunting a werewolf by the name of Grendel. Grendel was a savage, cruel, arrogant beast, razing villages and devouring anything he could get his hands on, food, and people alike. Grendel was a lot smarter than he appeared however, as he managed to outmanuver the two hunters and nearly kill Uther. However, Uther was able to wound Grendel, striking a blow with his sword at the beast's right arm. It was not enough to route the werewolf however, and he moved to kill Uther. Seeing this, Beowulf went mad, charging at the beast in a blind fury, tackling Grendel to the ground. While still under the influence of his rage and adrenaline, Beowulf grabbed a hold of Grendel's arm, ripping it from the werewolf's body with his bare hands. Grendel quickly retreated, leaving his severed arm behind. Werewolves were quite resilient, so losing a limb would not kill him. Grendel swore that he would return, promising vengeance toward the Hunter Pup that took his arm.

Once Beowulf had come to his senses, he realized what he had done, and was a mix between proud, and frightened. Uther however was beaming with pride. Not only had his son saved his life and defeated the infamous Grendel, but he also had a trophy to keep! Later that night, Beowulf asked Uther about the rage he had experienced when saving him from Grendel. It was unlike anything he had experienced before. Uther then confessed that their bloodline that spanned back for generations started from werewolves. However, due to the passage of time, thankfully, Uther and Beowulf could not fully transform like a full blooded werewolf. Certain members of their bloodline however had retained the beastly rage werewolves are known for. Uther had named it "The Rage of the Hunter." Thanks to Beowulf's strict training however, he is able to suppress that rage, unless something happens beyond his control that triggers his anger, like when Grendel threatened Uther. As a token of his pride, Uther gave Beowulf his prized sword Hrunting, a powerful blade passed down from Ace Hunter to Ace Hunter. Ten years have passed since then. Uther still travels with the Hunters, but he is now too old to fight. Thus, Beowulf has taken up his father's title as Ace Hunter. Uther is still there to provide advice and council, however.

*TRIVIA:
Along with the Rage of the Hunter, Beowulf also seems to have enherited the appetite of a beast, always eating the most out of anyone else in the party whenever they are treated to a banquet.

He still keeps Grendel's arm in his possession, planning to use it to taunt his rival should he ever return for revenge.

This character is heavily inspired by the Beowulf myth, in case you can't tell :P

PERSONALITY:
Zach is a man of few words, usually calm, stoic, and attentive to the world around him, so much so that its almost eerie at times. He acts like he has little emotion sometimes, often possessing a haunted look in his eyes, seemingly almost uncaring unless you get to know him. He's quiet, speaking only when its necessary, and as pack leader he's also required to be harsh and make tough decisions, making him come across as cold, domineering, and even threatening on various occasions. Authoritative and charismatic, Zach does all he can to make sure his pack survives and his people are happy regardless of what happen to him. He doesn't take treason or betrayal lightly however, nor forgives and forgets easily due to what occurred in the past. Patience is something he needs to work on however. He's very intelligent and curious to a fault, but also cautious, so if circumstances were different, he'd more than likely be some sort of scholar.

HISTORY/BIO:
Zach was born into one of the largest werewolf packs on the continent, a nomadic tribe which only stays in a certain area for a small amount of time. Zach's parents weren't particularly influential nor possessing that much physical strength, their status in the pack about average, so their children Zach and his twin sister Estella got to live a life of relative freedom in their early years. Like most siblings, they fought, and Zach was very close to his sister, but they were day and night opposites in a lot of ways. Where Zach was quiet, somewhat shy, and contemplative, Estella was impatient, loud, and very playful, like many of the werewolves in the pack. Where he had no direction in life in the pack that would really satisfy him, his sister always knew for a certainty of what she wanted to do with her life, which was be the leader of the pack someday. Where Zach had to work hard while training to get anywhere, everything seemed to come natural to Estella, much to Zach's slight envy, and as they grew that didn't change. That fact remains though, as they grew older they both developed into excellent warriors as they went into their teenage years. Layle, the old and tired pack leader at that point, made a decision which would affect every member of the pack: Making a treaty of sorts so they were no longer constantly fighting with their enemies, the vampires. Many were naturally opposed to this, while others were weary and not sure what to think. The pack was heavily divided. All his life Zach had heard about how arrogant that vampires were, how merciless, while his sister was vehemently against the idea of improving relations with the bloodsuckers simply out of neccessity. But it would take time for them to contact the vampires, the elders said, so they had time to think things over.

That changed late one night when while getting ready for bed, a young teenage Zach caught a unfamiliar scent on the breeze near where the pack at that point was staying. He naturally woke Estella, and after much contemplation and arguing, they decided to both go investigate the source of this mystery, being the overly curious kids they were. What they found of course was a wandering young wealthy vampire who called herself Arielle. After the fact that Estella tried to attack the vampire and Zach had to hold her back, the three eventually came to decision to alert the elders of the pack, thus beginning an attempt at peace with the vampires in years. Estella never did trust Arielle, but Zach and the vampire kept bumping into each other as the two groups tried to mend centuries old bridges, eventually developing a friendship of sorts due to their somewhat likewise personalities and similar interests.

Underlying this peace between the two races was tension however, as neither side quite trusted each other despite Layle's best efforts. Then the vampires suddenly surprise attacked in the dead of night, leaving multiple dead, mostly on the werewolf side, shortly before Zach returned from a hunt one night. Through the chaos, Zach survived, but the rest of his family didn't. He found his parents quickly enough...and then Estella, who died shortly later in his arms. A part of him died along with his family that day. He vowed, after finding out why exactly was the reason for this massacre, that he would never trust a vampire ever again.

The following months after are a blur for Zach, but what was left of the pack eventually did regroup, although leaderless. Still in pieces due to his grief at losing his friends and family, Zach trained constantly until he one day became pack leader. For that had been Estella's dream.

Shadowgift

WEAPON(S): Fimbulvetr, Nosferatu, Iron Sword

ITEM(S): N/A

BOON: Magic

BANE: Defense

PERSONALITY: As a rising noblewoman in the vampire courts, Arielle is capable of dawning the same emotionless mask her peers value, although, if asked, she will claim that her propensity for wearing her emotions on her sleeve is merely a trick to keep those around off balance and confused, and challenging her on it will probably end poorly. That is to say, Arielle is something of a wildcard, prone to hothead and impulsive acts, although she can be self-aware about this. She sees no reasons to change this state of affairs, but she is quite aware that this a personal fault of hers. Most of this results from her fierce independent streak, and a mistrust of those around her that Arielle has had a hard time shaking even 600 years later. Only when she has seen the truth of a matter for herself will Arielle truly accept it, and earning her trust can be a time consuming exercise. However, if one persists and does earn her trust and loyalty, that is ironclad. Betray that trust, and you have made an enemy for life. For a human, that means little, as you’re like as not to die then and there, but for a Vampire, she is more than willing to carry a grudge. She’s never quite formed an opinion on werewolves, although she remains wary of them.

Compared with her kin, Arielle is afflicted with a strong wanderlust, which is viewed by most as a silly human affliction. However, few can deny that Arielle’s once a century wanders have results, as she tends to return with either news of the world at large, or some strange semi-useful skill, and the simple fact that she has survived each time earns her respect, as a younger vampire surviving alone in the world for long is becoming more and more of a feat. Despite her impulsive nature, and cruelty in relation to her enemies, Arielle is widely regarded as both up and coming and rather influential in the court. Even her detractors have been forced to admit that her straight-forwards actions, and slow to trust mentality have had plenty of success, and for her human foibles, she is more than capable of dealing with those who cross her as required.

Centuries of living does mean that Arielle occasionally will forget that others are not as long lived, and don’t realize that her scale of time, and perspective are very different to theirs, causing her to appear callous, especially to humans, with their drastically shorter lives. This manifests most in her refusal to let insults go, and grudge carrying. She can be slow to make up her mind, viewing a few days or even weeks as a suitable timeframe to make a choice, a learned trait of vampires, and one that can infuriate those outside of their sphere.

HISTORY/BIO: Arielle was a bit of an oddity amongst vampires, taken and turned at a young age, and ‘raised’ by her ‘parents’, a pair of mid-ranking nobles wishing to rise in the court by exploiting a perceived weakness in the monarchy, that of a lacking heir to the throne. It was their belief that, if they had a ‘child’ they could place that child on the throne in time, and gain power as a result. Her acclamation to life as a Vampire was less than pleasant, both her ‘parent’s being harsh, and dismissive when she was not around to parade about for their advancement, and those around her seeking simply to use her for their own ends as well. Resentment was quick to build in the girl, and she began to find ways to get under the skin of those around her, subtle bits of rebellion, or spiteful ways of showing her displeasure.

At first, this was simply hunting down someone to teach her magic, one of her few talents from her previous life. This lead her to Salen, something of a lose canon who had left the courts many years ago. Although reluctant at first, he eventually agreed to pass on at least basic instruction to her, if only to snub his nose at the nobility, and admiring at the tenacity of the girl before him, if nothing else. Her ‘parents’ were less than impressed when they learned what Arielle was doing, although unable to publically rebuke her, in private they made Arielle quite aware of what they thought of her, and what they felt she was doing to their standing with the court, as a noblewoman had no need of violent pursuits. Or so they claimed. Regardless, Arielle persisted.

Eventually, slightly before her first century, Arielle, fed up with everything, slipped off into the night to travel the world, and see it for herself. During this first century, she convinced a human to teach her how to use a blade, before slipping away when they began to question who and what she was. Although she rarely used the sword, it provided a good way to slip unbothered from place to place without too many questions, and by the time questions were raised, she tended to be long gone. Eventually, she did return to the court, and there, largely away from her ‘parents’ started to gain some notice despite her young age. Having traveled about the world, tricking the humans, and not getting eaten by the wolves, meant that she had at least some skill, in the eyes of the older vampires. Her ‘parents’ tried to claim some influence in her success, and were quickly shut down.

And so, it became customary that every century or so, Arielle would disappear, wandering the land for about a decade, before returning to home. During these times, she gathered knowledge of the goings on of the world, and the movements of the assorted werewolf packs, as well as simply assuaging her own wanderlust. Most her attention, when directed, was focused by the court, tended to be upon the larger werewolf packs. Of late, in particular a pack led by a werewolf known as Layle caught the attention of some elements of the court, as he rumor held that he wanted to create a peace between their peoples. Thus, Arielle was sent to investigate such a claim, well before her usual once a century wandering, the belief being that her natural mistrust would ferret out any lies.

At first, Arielle was content to simply watch the wolves for a time, stalking near them, watching, searching for any reason why they might have been lying. Her policy was always to judge each pack as they came, and she had heard many rumors of this one, but always avoided them in the past. Now, she stalked them from the shadows, for a time. However, this plan was cut short when a pair of children, Zach and Estella confronted her. Well, Estella tried to attack, her, while Zach held her back, much to Arielle’s amusement, as in her eyes, a couple of children attacking a vampire with centuries of experience was a fools errand. None the less, the guts to come looking for her impressed the vampire at least a little bit. With the jig up, and her desire for some amusement sated, Arielle agreed to reveal herself to Layle and the rest of the pack.

For a time, this caused a slow change in the relations between that pack, and the Vampires, although as with all things, the opinions amongst the vampires changed slowly, a pace that most amongst the wolves considered positively glacial, even if Arielle insisted that, in her experience the rate at which actions were taken was meteoric. Trust is slow to build in a long lived people, and even Arielle herself. However, as a sign of goodwill she was instructed to stay, or be present often. During these times, she formed a bit of an odd friendship with Zach the wolf who revealed her stalking the pack, although his sister never say eye to eye with the Vampire. Her friendship with Zach, and even grudging acceptance of the werewolves, and their desire to make peace, however, would be the truce’s undoing.

Arielle was seen by those who opposed the new peace as the spearhead and glue holding the deal together. Most of her detractors felt her reputation was staked upon this truce, and that shattering it would ruin the upstart. And so, in secret they plotted. Chief amongst these conspirators were Arielle’s ‘parents’, finally sensing a way to truly convince their ‘daughter’ that they were right all along, and get revenge for how she had shamed them in the past. A message, bearing a symbol of urgency was sent, recalling Arielle. And, even as she slipped away, making apologies for her sudden departure, others slipped into the camp, a surprise attack was launched, slaughtering dozens of werewolves.

Arielle was none the wiser, until the wind carried the scent of bloodshed back to her. Turning on her heel, she returned as fast as possible, only to find a slaughter. She caught one of the killers at the edge of the camp wringing the information from the youngling, including that her ‘parents’ were involved in the plot. Only further incensed, she returned home, saying nothing about what she had learned. Vampires were a long lived people, and she would have her due in time. Her return home, blood dripping from her fangs suggested that she had joined in the attack to the hardline racists in the court, while those who were sympathetic to the wolves thought she had fought against the attack. Arielle, in a rare moment of true political acumen, saw no reason to disabuse either side of the notion, instead, coming to the realization that if she wanted vengeance, she would need to be more powerful than any of them. Sights set on the throne, her already impressive rise to power was cemented, and she was widely held as the likely nominee to take the throne when the current monarch passed, hundreds or thousands of years down the road. Although that is a precarious position, given her volatile temper and playing both sides of the conflict into her own interest.

Haramin stands at a moderate 5'7, weighing in at only 140 lbs. He is on the rather skinny side, but his body is very defined. His face contains very handsome features, and his golden eyes and silver colored hair are odd sights to see, even in an age of monsters. A sort of headband wraps around his forward, decorated in amber, and is quite dear to him, and wears a long, flowing robe that touches the ground, colored primarily silver, but with jade green and gold details. PERSONALITY:
Strange even among his own people, Haramin has an innate natural curiosity for just about everything. He is a very docile yet quirky person, who tries his best to fit in, but sometimes just cannot help himself. He enjoys adventure and discovery, which is often the thing that gets him into trouble. He is very childlike in demeanor, but possesses a mature side to him that will seem odd to those who first meet him. Conflict is one thing he dislikes the most, and he will go to great ends to not have it end in bloodshed.

HISTORY/BIO:
Haramin is a Disciple of Naga, and belongs to a reclusive tribe of dragon-human hybrids, well known as Manaketes. His tribe lives in the densest area of forest on the entire continent, and they live in secret, rarely venturing out into the world. But it's people like Haramin who venture out and cause rumors to sprout.

Haramin is a member of a spiritual group in his tribe called the Children of Naga. They worship and revere Naga, their ancestor, and believe that one day a child will be born bearing the mark of the Divine Dragon and divert the world from tragedy. Haramin was born with such a mark on his right cheek, and from birth, the Children of Naga spent thousands of years preparing him for his destiny. As he and his people were dragons, they could live many more lifetimes than your common man, and could use special stones imbued with their life energy to transform into their Dragon phase. And things were going well....until the Children found out that Haramin could not transform.

He was for sure a Manakete, but no matter how long he sat on the ground, clutching that golden Dragonstone tightly to his heart and wishing to change, he would still stay the same old Haramin. Distraught, Haramin left the village without anyone's knowledge, causing mass panic for the Children. He simply began to wander around the continent, observing all the things that humans did, and it was these little escapes to the outside world that led to his meeting of the Pack Leader, Ace Hunter, and Night Princess.

Haramin and his village, especially the Children of Naga, have done well to stay out of the conflict between the Vampires, Humans, and Werewolves, simply living life as they pleased while Haramin snuck out a few times to visit his three new friends from time to time. Each knew he knew the other two, and Haramin, being naive as he was, didn't understand if that was a bad thing; all he knew was that they were friends, and he enjoyed speaking with them immensely. However, in the past few months, something has changed in his village. Petryl, the Voice of Naga as he is known to the Children, has relayed to Haramin that Naga has told him that calamity was coming. The pieces of an ancient relic were being unearthed, and with them, so would an age old evil. Petryl told him that this was the destiny Haramin was born to fulfill, but that he wouldn't be able to do it alone. He told Haramin to seek out his three friends and bring them here; they are the keys to peace, he said, and he would need their strength in the trials to come. Haramin, though reluctant, understood, and he drafted three letters to each of his friends and bade them to meet him at Nox, a small trading town at the center of the province, connecting all three of the areas belonging to the three factions. It is here at Nox that fate begins to show itself...

NOTABLE RELATIONSHIPS:

-Arielle, Night Princess-
The longest held friendship of the three, Haramin met Arielle during one of his first wanders outside his village. While in a village, the commoners mistook him for a Bishop or Monk, and begged him to bless them with his magic so that they might have good fortune. Haramin was at a loss; he had yet to converse with so many humans at once, and was confused at their request to 'bless them', for his magic was used only to banish the evils that strayed too close to his village. Arielle managed to calm the crowd and explain that he was no Bishop, but a simple traveller or pilgrim, and that he had no power to bless them. The commoners departed, and Haramin, amazed at how she handled the crowd so well, thanked her profusely, asking if she would teach him more of the town and humans. If Haramin could do anything right, it was judge a sense of character, and he felt no evil from this woman, and so he revealed to her his origins. The two had a sort of kinship, what with thousand year old families and the like, and Arielle agreed to teach him. Every year since then, they would meet at the town and have a night out to themselves. Haramin very much enjoys her company and admires how resposible she is. Even though he is technically older than her, he views her as a tough older sister.

-Beowulf, Ace Hunter-
Haramin and Beowulf met under odd circumstances. Haramin had been travelling back to his home through the woods when he was stopped by Beowulf, who had figured him a Vampire. Haramin and Beowulf went back and forth as to how he could and could not be a Vampire for a while, Haramin actually enjoying it, until Beowulf eventually decided that he was not. Excited to meet another of such rugged character, Haramin introduced himself and explained his background to him, trusting that he would keep it secret. Haramin and Beowulf both had similar tasks of hunting monsters, though the ones Haramin banished near his village were perhaps no where as nearly interesting as what Beowulf had slain. Amazed by his battle prowess, Haramin graciously asked Beowulf if he would try to help train him to be a better fighter with his magic, to which he oddly enough agreed to. Every six months since them, the two have met at different locations they described in letters between each other to train and talk. Though Haramin as known Beowulf the least amount of time of the three, he still considers him to be a good man and a great warrior, almost as a rival of sorts.

-Zachariah, Pack Leader-
Haramin has known Zachariah a little longer than Beowulf, but not as long as Arielle. He first met him completely on accident, as while he was wandering, he stumbled into their tribe without knowing who they were, and assumed they were just more humans, so he greeted them warmly. Of course, the tribe didn't take too kindly for a stranger popping up like this, and while many called for his death, Zachariah was the one who stood up for him, telling his tribe that he felt no malice from the stranger and that he would lead him away from the tribe. Haramin followed Zachariah out of the tribes grounds, but he thanked him profusely the whole time. Deciding to put his trust in this one as well, he told him of his background, and just what he was. He hoped to learn more about Werewolves and how they lived in this day and age, and so he politely asked if there was any way Zachariah could teach him their ways. Zachariah reluctantly agreed to it. Haramin's visits were also very sporadic, and could be spread from one week to five months per visit, but the two grew to be friends with the time passing, and he even got to meet his sister! Unfortunately, Haramin had been focused completely on his studies of Naga back home when Zachariah lost his sibling, and it was only during his next visit shortly after did he hear the news. Haramin did everything he could to be there for Zachariah, and reassured him that Naga was sure to guide her spirit down the right path. Their relationship is easily summed up as basically two people on even ground with mutual respect, and Haramin would have it no other way.

*TRIVIA:
Most likely to be annoyed when plans are cancelled.

Though Haramin is a Manakete that cannot transform, he still takes extra damage from Wyrmslayers.

PERSONALITY:

Strong, Stoic, and Melancholy, this terror of the battlefield scares her allies as well. Raised to value strength above all else, she often splits off on her own to challenge her foes, daring them to surround her. While she is slow in everything she does, her combat is precise and intentional. After all, between her iron will and specially commissioned, excessively heavy armor, little can harm her. (Or so she believes.) Off the battlefield, she is quietly intense, and most conversations with her either end after she gives a few one-word replies, or with a terrible barking of insults and orders. Secretly, she longs for the support she never received from her distant military father, but is clueless on how to obtain it.

HISTORY/BIO:

(At least a paragraph.)

Born the youngest daughter of a decorated lieutenant, she had the misfortune of killing her mother on birth. Her father replied by vanishing into the military service he had promised to give up to raise his children. Blaming herself for her father’s absence, she tells herself she will make herself strong enough to make up for the crime of her birth. While her siblings played and frolicked through their childhoods, she spent hers in tearful, angry training. She now stands at an imposing height, with a solid, muscular build rivaling that of most men of service.

*NOTABLE RELATIONSHIPS:

None that she’ll admit to. However, anyone who can break her out of her shell imprints very deeply on her.

*TRIVIA:

Most likely to go a whole day without speaking.

Surprisingly good cook. Hates sharing food, though.

Responsible for anonymous, heartfelt notes left in the belongings of her companions, but won’t admit to it.
