Fandom Fire Emblem: Divinity - Rules

Kyero

Three Thousand Club
Rule #1) If you intend to join the RP, you must tell me either in a private conversation message or in the “Out of Character Chat” page. Saying “I’m interested” in the Interest Check does not count. I need to see in writing your interest in the RP itself as a way to confirm your commitment.

If you submit a character profile to the “Character Sign-Up” page without having first contacted me about your intent to join, I will delete your submitted character and remind you of this rule in the notification that comes with the deletion of the post.

Rule #2) No God-Modding, Metagaming, or Power Playing.

God-Modding - Writing for your character (as a mortal) as if they can do anything without limits or boundaries (like a God or Goddess).

Metagaming - Writing your own real life knowledge and experience into your character which they should not otherwise possess. For example, your character is a thief who also happens to know about surgery and medical practice when it was never part of the character’s background or written in the profile you provide for the RP when you submit. This is also an instant and one way ticket out of the RP.

Power Playing - Writing for another player controlled character without both the owner’s permission, and mine as the GM. So basically, when your character engages another player controlled character in a conflict and the following takes place: Your character attacks. The other player dodges and writes that they struck at your character, but otherwise obey the rules and do not auto-hit you. You write that your character dodges the attack, pulls them in close, and punches them in the face without giving the other player a chance to at least write the damage themselves if they don’t know a way out of it. Writing that they had no time or planned method of countering or escaping the situation because your character auto-hit them is what we call Power Playing, and this too is an instant one way ticket out of the RP.

Rule #3) Respect your fellow role-players.

Everyone who joins the RP is here to enjoy the experience as much as you are, and are just as entitled to a fun and respectable experience. If anyone disrespects their fellow role-players such as name calling, bullying, or unpleasant verbal jousting with the direct intent to cause mental or emotional harm, I will do two things: I will remove your character from the role-play by killing them in an unceremonious manner IC in a post you can do nothing about, and I will summon a moderator to deal with you.

Rule #4) RP Lore and Mechanics.

If you want to contribute to the mechanics, lore, or anything in the RP then you must inform me of your desire to do so in the "Out-of-Character" page. You are not allowed to just post changes or additions. I will do that for you when and if I accept your ideas.

Rule #5) Character Creation:

Characters must follow these two rules (along with those detailed in parentheses in the code box for the character skeleton):

* The use of phrases such as “the strongest,” “the most skilled,” “the most dangerous,” “the best,” “the smartest,” and other such phrases which are designed to put your character above and beyond the norm are not allowed. The use of any such phrases in your character’s biography will earn you a warning, of which you only get one.

If you want to use something like this, there'd better be a good explanation in the bio as to why the character has earned the title.

* No over exaggerated introverted behavior or society/life hating/resenting personalities.

I cannot stress it enough how I find introverts (when they're played to extreme levels) to be irritating and useless characters.

“My life sucks and I hate everybody.”

"I hate my parents for giving birth to me!"

“Nobody loves me, and nobody ever could.”

“I lost everything, and now I have no future.”

"I don't have friends, and I don't want them either."

"This world is useless and life is pointless. I want to die!"

"I don't want to involve myself in the lives of other people. What have they done for me?"

"The only peace lies in solitude. Groups and the outside world are illusions and they'll take advantage of you before you even have the chance to blink."

Such over the top personalities deserve absolutely zero pity. No matter how you craft their backstory, it’s been done before in spades and is not interesting or useful to an RP like this one which requires meaningful interaction.

Rule #6) Communication is a must.

This RP is going to be much larger and more long winded than it looks at first glance, and as such there needs to be constant communication between everyone. Any questions you have about the RP should be asked the moment they pop into your minds. Any time you plan on involving another player character(s) in what your character is doing, you must talk to the owner of the character immediately before the event takes place. If you write for someone else's character without their permission, that will earn you a warning. Any secondary violations will earn you banishment from the RP.

Rule #7) Be realistic.

The RP is based on a world of fantasy, but the laws of physics still apply and nobody here is going to be superman. Flight (except for bird tribe Laguz), super senses, superhuman strength, speed, endurance, etc, are all prohibited unless given direct permission by yours truly as the GM. There are some spirits, rituals, and other special events which can grant such capabilities, but they will not be available to you right off the bat. You’ll have to work for them, and you’ll have to acquire my blessing to gain access to them.
