Realistic or Modern Finding your place in the world [Closed]

Finding one's place in today's world can be a life journey on its own, or it can be a matter of a single rain drop. I'm looking to do an rp centered around the theme of two people finding themselves. I would be playing as a 10-year-old boy who is placed with your character (a single adult) through adoption. With the boy having a past of sexual abuse and neglect, it'll be a rather delicate relationship development between the two. We would be starting off on the first day I'm officially placed in your home (late August) and make our way through the year to next summer, although continuing beyond that is definitely an option if we both feel up to it at the time.

I have no hard limit for reply lengths, though I do want replies that actually help push the story along (generally at least a couple of sentences preferred, but like I said, not required and maybe not necessarily needed for certain scenes), so don't be super passive to the point where all of the substance in the story progression falls to me. What I also want to mention is that sadly I'm 19 (not terribly old, but still, no more summer breaks and stuff :xFfrown:), and a full-time job along with other responsibilities can weigh me down, so there'll be some gaps where I'll be unable to reply, however I'll be striving to get as much into the rp as I can throughout the day. If you end up not being able to/not wanting to continue the rp (or if you have to go quiet for a few days), then do please let me know if at all possible, although of course I totally understand things can sometimes happen where we don't have a chance to do so.

If needed, I can double as side characters such as teachers, other kids from school, etc. If you're comfortable with doubling (if not, then no worries), then feel free to double as side characters as well when a situation calls for it. The main thing about taking on occasional side character roles though is that, just like how we wouldn't take control of each other's main characters, we shouldn't take control of a specific side character introduced by the other person (this only applies to named side characters, or ones who may be unnamed but are still identifiable as a specific person already brought in). Other than that, feel free to use either first-person or third-person POV, but just no second-person.

If I've happened to catch your interest, send me off a PM with your character's first/last name, gender, and age.

Looking forward to hear from you
