❛ it's only love, nobody dies ❜
- Rules:
1. I expect literacy from you. Be able to put a sentence together properly.
2. No one liners-- there is a two paragraph minimum per post.
3. I'm not saying you have to post everyday, but at least twice a week would be nice. Please don't express interest if you can't meet this requirement. I know that things come up, and that's not what I'm talking about here.
4. Be polite and respectful. If you can't manage this, you will be kicked, and YC will be killed off. (ha.)
5. As of right now, this is not first come first serve.
6. Romance isn't a must, but it's encouraged/enjoyed by most. (Note, I said most). But don't break RPN's rules. Fade to black if needed.
7. Be mature. Not saying this RP is going to break RPN's rules, but i'm saying there may be mature topics/triggers. Do not bash anyone's character or anything like that.
8. On the topic of triggers, please be respectful. Do some research if you have to. Triggers are nothing to take lightly, and if someone gets upset, don't bash them for getting upset. Warn us if your post or character has triggers/trigger warnings.
9. If you have an issue with someone, come to me first. Or be a big person and actually talk to them about it.
10. There will be a discord for OOC chatter.
11. unscripted and I will be co-gming this together. Their word is law as much as mine. - It takes hard work, determination, support, and a talent to make it. Just pure looks alone can only take you so far, and having talent, but no fan base to support you, won't get you too much further. It really takes talent, hard work, and people who care to support you to make it. BAND 1 and BAND 2 both had the talent and determination to build a supportive fan base to take them to the big time.
Both bands formed during their high school days, one starting on the west coast in Seattle, the other on the east coast in Boston. After graduating high school, each band began their rise into the music scene. Initially, the bands knew nothing of each other, but as they both continued to grow in the industry, they became aware of each other. As the bands started to garner national attention, the media began to point out the similarities of the bands, which sparked competition and debate among the fans of each band over which band was better.
Even with all of the controversy surrounding the bands, they stayed out of it. But that didn’t last long. The first time the bands met, BAND 1, stole a show from BAND 2 causing not only an even bigger feud between the fans, but one between the band members.
Skip forward a few years, and both bands are now playing at larger venues, even headlining tours. Their fan bases have grown extremely and are still growing. Now at this point the two bands stopped focusing on the feud and stopped feeding into the media’s perpetuation of it.
That is until the old drummer of BAND 2, who was bitter about the situation in their band, decided to trash BAND 1 to a gossip magazine to stir up some trouble. Not long after, they were kicked out of the band, but the damage was done. The feud was resparked and both bands have taken to trashing each other in the media any chance they get and even refusing to play any of the same shows.
Now, a short year after the problem starting interview, a tour was announced, both BAND 1 and BAND 2, have announced they will be going on the tour together. No doubt, it was planned by their managers to capitalize on the feud and use the conflict to create the biggest tour either band has ever had.
But will it actually work, or will it cause everything to get worse? That’s the ultimate question that's not only selling tickets, but playing in the back of these bands' heads.
Band 1 Positions:
Singer- The Performer: They grew up a dancer and developed a love for performing at an early age. In high school they joined the choir for fun and found out they had a good voice. They joined the band thinking it wouldn’t be a big deal, but found performing with the band exhilarating. When the band got successful, they put their focus on the band and gave up their dancing dreams.
Guitarist- The Leader: They were the one that got the band together. In the early days, they scheduled the practices, booked the gigs, and ran the social media pages. Nowadays, with a manager, they don’t have to do all of that, but they are still the respected leader of the band, keeping the peace and helping keep the members in line. [reserved by unscripted ]
Bassist- The Prodigy: From an early age it was apparent that they were a musical prodigy. They easily learned music playing by ear and had no trouble picking up multiple instruments. They Joined the band as a way to fill their free time in high school, but as the band gained fans and success they took the band more seriously.
Drummer- The Stars Kid: They are the child of a famous person (actor, musician, celebrity, ect.) and joined the band as a way for them to gain their own fame. They want to leave their mark and make their own name separate from their parents' fame.
Manager- The Industry Insider: They have worked in the music industry since they were a teenager, taking on whatever job/role they could to gain experience. When the band reached the level of success where they were signed by a label, they hired the manager. The manager is all about business and reaching their highest potential, whether that means with this band or another.
Crew Member- The Hopeful: They started following the band when they were in high school and became a big fan. They play multiple instruments and hope to be in a successful band one day. When the opportunity to work for the band came about they jumped at the chance, hoping that it would give them a chance to join the band or any other band they come across.
Band 2 Positions:Singer- The Writer: Initially, their main focus was writing. After hearing about the band being formed, they decided to try to write some songs and presented them to the band. Their role as the singer came about after the first singer quit the band and they agreed to fill in for practice until the role was filled. They were so good that the band insisted that they fill the role. They write all of the lyrics for the band's songs. [reserved by apolla ]
Guitarist- The Wild One: They have always been wild. In high school they never missed a party, and they joined the band as a way to party more. To them, partying includes drinking and getting high. Since the band has blown up, their partying as well as their drug use has gotten worse and worse. Recently, their drug use has become an addiction, and it is starting to affect the band.
Bassist- The Overlooked: They are the younger sibling of the singer. They were one of the first members to join and were excited for a chance to show what they can do. When their older sibling joined as the singer and became the “frontman”, they felt like they took all the spotlight. The drummer feels like they are in their siblings shadow and are overlooked. That has created some resentment for their sibling.
Drummer- The Newbie: The drummer is new to the band and has only been with them for a little less than a year. They have been a fan of the band since the early days. They joined after the feud with band 1 was taken to its highest level. They have no feelings about the feud and just want to make music.
Manager- The Day One: They have been with the band since the beginning. Originally just a friend that agreed to help them out, they eventually ended up handling all non musical aspects of the band. They have played a large part in the band's success and want nothing more than to see their friends reach the top.
Crew Member- The Secret Rich: They were born to a rich family with high expectations on them. They didn’t feel like they fit in that world, so they took the first chance they could to escape it. When a friend of theirs introduced them to the band, they went to work for them, leaving their rich life behind. They keep their background a secret from everyone around them.
