Ognyan

Finally, Ari has answered. Now the knight can ask.

"Greetings my fellow knight. My liege has tasked me with assembling a division to guard the royals on the travel to the Middle Kingdom. This division shall be around the family as they meet with other royals. In the case this meeting rots to bones, the division shall save need to fend off the foes and do what is deemed necessary by my liege. You have been shown to be a capable knight."

The moment makes Ognyan lean in a little.

"However, more than a fighter is needed. There is one major goal I want to be kept: no royal is killed by a Southerner. It would be quite easy for the war to continue if a royal is to die, and the war would become a slaughter. If a royal from any kingdom charges, our goal shall be to take whoever it shall be with no death. I request this from you. Do not take is as a task to not fight. You may strike, block, kick, and commit other acts needed, but you shall not slay a royal. Capability is what I'm asking you. Being able to do so means I can trust you in this travel."

Salazar
Salazar heard the little bit of hate he got even from his sister and he felt a bit hurt. But never mind that he wanted to speak "Don't worry Erica, I'm your brother for a reason. I haven't seen you in a while so I wanted to just talk and help you pack for the trip." he paused then remembering what he had been discussing beforehand and then sighed said "Oh, you heard me and Alaric argue huh. You don't like this whole arranged marriage too?" He wanted to connect with his sister but didn't know much about what she liked. He heard about how she was always locked up in the library.

Ari listened closely. The mission was clear enough: escort the Royal family to the Middle Kingdom and defend them if things went wrong. "If that's what Salazar wants, It's what he'll get," Ari said. "I'll make certain that no member of the royal families is slain by me or anyone else." The task was easier said than done. From what Ari knew of family, they liked nothing more than to fight. Still the task was hers and she'd complete it to the best of her abilities.

The relief the gripped her when Lawrence accepted her offer was something she couldn't explain, but she let out a small sigh, a breath she didn't realize she had been holding. A small smile spread across her lips, "You always were a charmer," She chuckled, "But thank you Lawrence. I'm sure everyone else will be fine, Alexius and Deems will return home, and I believe Celeste will be safe. She won't go with out someone keeping an eye on her. I'll make sure of it." Celeste was a tender, naive young girl who couldn't harm a fly even if she tried. And even if Aeryn asked, neither could her lady in waiting, Theia. But she would not be alone, Aeryn had to bring herself not to worry. But again, she would raise he'll should any harm come to any of her siblings.

Drawn out of thought by Deems voice, she stepped to the side, and just past Lawrence to address him. "I believe either tonight, or anytime tomorrow, but I don't think anyone has an exact time." She paused, brushing some hair out of her face, "I need to go finish packing, and take a bath, something in sure neither of you need to help me with," she said turning to her large bedroom door, "I will talk to you both later, alright?"

As she entered her room, and shut the door behind her, Aryan reached up and took out the pin holding her hair up. She normally kept most of it up in a bun to keep it at shoulder length because, with its full length there at her hips. Her maids, a young woman named Milana, was just finishing up with her second suit case, while Belinda, Milana's mother, was nowhere in sight. Aeryn was about to ask about it, when she smelt the scent of her bath oils, and chuckled under her breath.

Walking through her room, which was large, much larger than needed really; at least in Milana's opinion. Anyway, some of her bedroom was actully a personal bathroom, like every royal room did. The west had a very innovations, like indoor plumbing, that she wasn't sure if the other kingdoms had, but she hoped they did. Anyway, Belinda was checking the water temperature in the marble bathtub. "Woman, you're a saint," Aeryn muttered, reaching back to undo the clasp of her dress.

Belinda chuckled, sitting up and walking over to take the dress from Aeryn once she had it off. "If only more people realized my greatness your highness," the old maid chuckled, "Tell us when your done, and well get ya dressed."

"Thank you ladies."

Looking at him with brotherly love for him, she listens to his worries. She is honestly surprised that the message reached him already. She moves her hand to his face, gently pulling a hair strand behind his ear. "Dear, please listen to me. I know things are getting difficult, but I will find a way. Also, I won't let such things happen, and even if I won't go away from here. You and my siblings are my family, after all, I can't leave you all alone" she speaks with her softened voice to him. Then she silently begins to chuckle "and one more; Akira you know that you can call me by my name, you're my best friend, after all~ If you don't I feel so much older than I already am" her voice takes a deeper tone while she says that.

Unfortunately, she couldn't change the whole time since she tried to wake up her little siblings. "I'm sorry Akira, I didn't realize I still wear my sleepwear. I'm going to change real quick, just a moment~" she said apologetic and changed in front of him, it didn't bother her. So she thinks of Akira too, they both spent so much with each other; bathing together, playing and even fighting each other. But those times are gone now since she became an adult. But she really tried to be as carefree as possible. Her dress is white with a few dark blue-ish elements, decorating it. Then she turns back to him, ready to continue their conversation.

Celeste - Youngest of the Western Kingdom

Celeste gave a half smile to Theia. So even her lady-in-waiting didn’t think she would make for a good spouse. It was hopeless then. She picked three dresses laid out before her. One green, one black, and one blue. She made sure to have at least one of her kingdom’s colors in their. She was representing them after all. She always preferred large skirts with intricate embroidery. Typically, she would be bouncing in excitement. But her earlier concerns were only amplified by Theia’s lukewarm response.

After a few moments of silence, she decided to ask another question that had been bothering. “Theia, will you be coming with me?” She asked. “To whatever kingdom I’m going to, that is.” What if Theia didn’t want to travel with her? Celeste, of course, couldn’t force her to go. Did that mean that she would be going alone? No, her siblings would never allow that to happen. One way or another, someone would be accompanying her. She would rather have Theia go with her though. Someone that she thought she knew well.

Thanking Aeryn for her reply, Deems nodded as she went down the hall. He then turned his attention to Lawrence, who remained behind with him. "I'm guessing you'll be going with her then. Not surprised, but I'll miss having you around the palace." Deems patted his shoulder as he started down the hall. "You're always welcome here, don't forget that. You're like a member of the family."

She frowned at Salazar and looked away, she just couldn't believe that they were being forced to do such a thing. "I don't care what they say, I'm not going to get married! I-" she shut her mouth quickly as she could feel her tears threatening to fall, that was not something she wanted to happen. "Nevermind, listen I appreciate you wanting to help me… But, I think I'd prefer to be alone..." She didn't mention to her brother she had some sneaky business to attend to, she loved her siblings but doubted they could be trusted when it came to truelove. "Is that okay?"

In shock, for a moment he started to panic "Uh I um..." he didn't know what to do. Then remembering his discipline, calmed down then said "Erica. If you really hate getting married then I want to help. I'm your brother and I also don't want you being taken away. So please, talk to me this once. I want to be helpful." then thinking for a second he suddenly thought about a funny joke and then chuckling said, "Is there someone you already love perhaps?" He just wanted to cheer her up and the joke was something all people like right? He personally also hated the marriages but he would sacrifice himself for the country if his family didn't have to. Of course one of those dame royals from the other kingdoms are now engaged to his family. He still hated it and would go to war to protect them.

She looked over as her brother began to speak she wanted to lie and say no,, but she couldn't hide the reaction that she had. She grabbed his hand, leading him away from everybody else because she was only going to trust him with this information. She just hoped that he would not be angry or tried to stop her, once they were somewhere more private and managed to lose her guard she looked at her brother. "Yes, there is somebody I love--" there were a couple of tears in her eyes as she never meant to betray her family or her country. "I never meant to hurt you, please don't be mad at me and I beg of you from the bottom of my heart do not tell a soul, I'm too far deep into this and a fear I cannot be without him."

Seeing his sister's reaction he was surprised. He wasn't actually expecting that reaction. Then as she led him to a more private area she started to talk about some man she loved. He paused for a moment and then said "Well I'm not experienced with this whole true love thing but I'd love to hear about him? Is he competent? Strong? Who is he?" He was secretly hoping it was not an Eastern royal as that would be awkward with all the massacres he had committed to those people then to make sure he asked: "Is he by any chance someone from the east?" Still visibly confused by his tearful sister he wanted to be someone she can turn to even if he was a monster.

Ognyan

"Great! Be ready for departure soon. If my presence is needed again, I shall be out at Salazar's regiment recruiting soldiers for the guard. Remember with all your might: no royal is to be slain."

Exits Ognyan back into the castle halls. Now he takes the passages to the outside where Salazar's regiment has been standing since the ceasefire. Getting on some crates, the prince's knight get the attention.

"Attention all!"

Silence arrived with a few seconds as chatter leaves the soldiers.

"By the orders of Prince Salazar, I have been tasked to assemble a division to accompany the royal family. The division shall protect the royal family. However, with the greatest importance, the division shall not kill any royal, even those who attack. Before dinner this afternoon, I shall lead an inspection where I shall select soldiers for the task. Those who have a history of being the most loyal, compliant with orders, and best performing shall be chosen. You may return to your duties."

As he has the goal ready for the moment, perhaps it would be easy to take a moment for himself. Perhaps the knight could return to his quarters for a while. Take a rest or reread through his drafts. Later Ognyan could report to his liege on the progress, and then select individual soldiers at the inspection. All was possible. With that, entry into the castle was made along with travelings to his quarters. The quarters were for adequacy and practicality. There was simply a bed, a dresser, a trunk, and desk all made out of wood. Two slim windows was all he had to look outside. The only cloth items was an old rug, the sheets on the bed, and some cloths laid on the desk chair. An incomplete draft of his history book laid on the desk, next to a stack of notes collected over many travels. For the moment, Ognyan grabbed this draft, skipped a few pages in, and got wrapped into what he wrote down.

Beau returned the hug, sighing at his sister antics. She could get away with murder when it came down to Beau. She was the poor boy's biggest blind spot. The moment was short lived, as a familiar but stern voice interrupted them. He met Aster's eye with a sheepish gaze. They all knew he would not fight her. Although she had not directly raised Beau as she had Hana, he also saw her as a motherly figure, and respected her greatly. He only nodded to her as Hana was escorted away, shooting Hana an apologetic look. Watching them go, he felt a twinge of heartache, knowing now that these moments were limited. One day, he would watch her walk off for the last time, and then she would never return.

"Don't be so melodramatic," he thought to himself, turning on his heel to head towards his quarters. No, of course she would come back. She would be married to another kingdom, but the East would always be her home. As the clicks of his heels against marble filled the silence, he tried to focus on that positive thought. She would be fine, wars would be avoided. She would be happy, and she would still visit. If she wasn't happy...well, if any harm came to any of his siblings during these arrangements, he would not hesitate to be the first man that called to arms. War was terrifying, but losing his family was even more so.

He sighed, pausing to eye one of many family portraits that lined the halls. He wondered often if it was worth it. On one hand, if on the slim chance that these eight marriages worked out, they could avoid all wars completely between kingdoms. All kingdoms would gain allies and profitable trade. However, if even just one marriage turned sour...well, it spelled out a very different future, one that had numerous but all unhappy scenarios. Was that risk worth taking, knowing his family would be ripped apart?

"Well, it will be a lot quieter around here," he grumbled to himself, tearing his gaze from the portrait to continue down the hall. He was trying to ignore the truth, and that was that he would miss his sisters greatly despite the grief they caused him, and he'd never stop worrying for their safety. At least with Marius' arrangement, he could keep an eye on the queen-to-be. Beau would not hesitate to bring Marius' fiancee down if she posed a threat to his kingdom. He would protect his family's legacy, and his people, at all costs. And as for his own marriage...no, he refused to think of that.

It was times like these that he regretted not spending as much time training physically as he did studying politics. Sure, like all princes, he had been trained in the art of swordplay, but he was average at best. He could hold his own in a fight, but he was no soldier. If the day came that he needed to be one...he shook that thought off, reminding himself to focus on the present. He gave his guard a nod to open the door to his chambers, and they did so with a bow.

"Thank you," he murmured as he passed, ever the stoic yet polite prince. His trunks where left open in his room, and ready to be filled, presumably prepped by a maid. He had declined further help to pack, as he always did. Some maids found his independence charming, giggling and gossip about it. The truth was, he was too embarrassed to think of ladies touching his undergarments. He would never admit that humiliating tidbit, though. Scratching the back of his head as he looked about his room in dismay, he resigned himself to finally get this task over with. Distractions served him well in these hard times.

Theia - Lady-in-Waiting to Princess Celeste of the West - 22

Theia hesitated again. Then she forced an awkward smile. "Of course, Your Highness," she said tightly. "That is my duty, isn't it?" And with that, she started packing the dresses, along with the princess' other clothes, accessories and necessities. She reminded herself that she'd have to pack her own belongings later too - not that she had much to pack.

After awhile, she said, without looking at the princess, "I would follow Your Highness anywhere." Her voice came out a bit more forceful than she intended, but she hoped that her meaning got across, and that Her Highness would feel at least slightly reassured. She put away any thoughts of the South Kingdom; she would think about that if the time ever came. For now, her first priority was not her own self.

Katja did her job as best she could focusing on the job at hand, but anyone with a relative job would tell you peoples minds wandered at work. The same was true for Katja as not even she could remain fully aware of her actions. That was not to say she was slacking, but simply she was on autopilot. Washing things required the same movements and actions over and over which left the mind to wander. This happened in any job that was like this.

In her day dreams Katja thought of what the totals were like. Her mental picture was not exactly kind as being a commoner she was not exactly priviy to the workings of the state and really only knew news through gossip. The gossip was as always two sides one side of the diving beautiful nobles soon to come and the other of the warmongers that were firing their people into endless wars. Beautiful and cruel was how they were thought of even though it wasn't true. So of course as one thought of negative things negative images came to mind. The strongest was the idea that the nobles might behead any servant that annoyed them in the slightest. Katja would cone back to reality after day dreaming her end with a promise to not screw up.

Sir Lawrence Llewellyn

He inclined his head with a light chuckle, the sort that rumbled like summer thunder before meeting Aeryn's gaze again. "One might think I'm almost fond of you," Llewellyn smiled. She had it planned, everything she knew was in confidence and Law should've known. Dotted the I's and crossed the T's. She might not have been happy about the move, it seemed few people were and the palace itself was ... solemn at the departure. Every royal must have known love stories were myths, they'd be married off one way or another but reality hit hard and it undoubtedly affected those around them. Old enemies turned new friends, wedding bands and unhappy heirs. No matter what happened, he would protect Aeryn, her future children if need be, but never would he find the kindness to protect her dearly wedded.

Prince Demetrius sought them out, interrupting with his question of departure. Aeryn gave a vague window of between here and there, stepping in front of the Knight who had drawn himself up stiff. The princess excused herself to bathe and pack, leaving both men alone until Deems faced Llewellyn. "I still may return, I'm not sure how long Lady Aeryn will require my services," His features dropped slightly. Yes, he'd see the graceful, eldest of the royals, but there was a brotherly camaraderie he'd developed with the princes. Demetrius patted his shoulder before moving off, "You're like a member of the family." Those words lingered, giving Law company in the now-empty hall.

He'd have to pack himself. Where once he'd thought he would remain in the middle kingdom until the marriage was sorted, it appeared Lawrence would be moving for longer than previously expected. He took a solitary and winding walk back to the barracks, lost in his own head past the gardens. It'd begun to rain, the once momentary sunlight vanishing with grey clouds and light droplets. It brought Lawrence back, hesitating for a second to admire the sky. For people who called it miserable, they'd never seen the shades which hid in the grey, the lilacs and washed out horizon after a fresh storm. It'd all change and soon, only the stars could keep sufficient company.

Reaching his current lodgings, he called for a squire again to bring another chest. The rest of his clothes, pieces of armour, and the last of his worldly possessions were packed in. Opening the windows, Lawrence selected a scroll of thick, creamy parchment and a goose-feather quill, dipping the tip into the ink. He'd have to send word to his mother and father, Gods bless their souls. The change in plans could not go amiss. Not something as important as the princess proposed. Absorbed by that for a long while, Lawrence stamped it with the family crest and sent it by messenger. Then, in some bidding farewell to his company of men, Llewellyn visited the barrack's common room where the ale tasted like piss and the bunks stunk of cheap prostitutes.

But, what else was there to do but drink and regale in old tales, of bloody ballads where Knights proved their mettle for centuries and it was celebrated for millennia more? One of the guardsmen swung his foot up onto a bench, holding up a tankard, "'ERES A LIMERICK! I 'ave for our Ser Llewellyn," He hacked and spat, clearing his throat. "There was a tall Knight from St Clair, 'e was said to 'ave fought a bear, turned out it was Old Jen, indeed it was that old hen! Who 'e now has to pay childcare." The room erupted with laughter, whilst Llewellyn kicked back and finished the rest of his tankard before getting to his feet.

"Well, it's not a one-sided game this, Bill--" Attention was grabbed from every corner, Lawrence pushing his mug to be filled "I taught you how to use a sword, I'll teach you to respect your damn elders--" The wily grin he retained was a sign of something up his sleeve. "I knew a pretty girl from up Filly, they said she was sweet as a lily, turned out she was open for gents, for just a handful of cents, and had a little son they named Billy." The laughter reached wheezing point -- it wouldn't be so bad. Life, no matter where you ended up. Even if it were to be fawning over women or laughter in a barrack with cheap beer. He might just make it.

Returning to his roam of the palace, Deems walked with no real destination in mind. Though he'd be leaving to the Middle Kingdom for only a short time, he'd miss the palace. He'd spent most of his life in these walls, learning the ways of the kingdom and the duties of ruling. It might be nice to see the other parts of the world, however he'd not feel so secure. Obviously, he had heard of all the blood thirsty animals who were sadly human outside, slaughtering people and taking over any land they could get their paws on. Not understanding their motivation, he feared that he could be a victim of an attack. There would be royal guards escorting him everywhere no doubt, but being in range of someone so... viscous gave him shivers.

Yet he'd have to separate anything personal from his work and duties as the king, like he did with everything else. Meeting the other royals was necessary, as was marrying one of them. It was his duty. He just wished that his life didn't have to be controlled by the government, and the wishes of others. That was part of his duties however, to do the best for the kingdom over his own needs. But how nice would it be to be marrying the love of his life, and not have to listen to the members of parliament debating and trying to get his approval for any of their plans. Living without these giant responsibilities was what he wanted... but he'd not have that.

Deciding to end his mindless wandering now, as the depressing thoughts filled his mind, Deems looked up at his surroundings, realizing he'd come to the library. Not a place he often visited, as reading was something he'd grown tired of from the countless documents and bills he'd had to pass for the kingdom's government. Stepping inside however, being bored and wanting to be somewhat alone, Deems jumped back as one of the young librarians rushed up to him and bowed deeply. Trying to hide his shock, he listened as the attendant babbled on about how honored they were to be in his presence, and something about their eagerness to help him find whatever he needed.

"I..." he trailed off, a bit unsure about what he was doing here in any case. "Where can I find the laws on succession?"

"I can show and assist you, follow me." The librarian lead him into one of the long, tall shelves of books, the sounds of rain beginning to fall outside. Looking up, he saw for the first time that the ceiling was partially glass, and he could see the rain pattering against it. A smile spreading across his face, he walked on until the young librarian starting pulling books from the shelves. Then taking him to a table, setting down the books, the librarian lit a lamp for him and then took their leave with another bow.

Sighing and opening the cover of the first book, Deems began to read one of the many books, trying to absorb as much as he can. "Hey!" he called out to the librarian, who turned to listen to his request. "Please let my brother, Prince Alexius know where I am so he will be able to find me once it's time for our departure." they nodded in understanding, and rushed out the library to deliver the message.

Alexius
There was quite around him. Haven fallen asleep Alexius was trying to catch up from the sleep he had lost doing paperwork. He felt at peace and not having to deal with the struggles of everyday life. Well, that was before he heard a knock at his door. He grumbled a bit, obviously unhappy until he realized he had been passed out for a while. Rushing to the door of his small workplace he opened the door. It was nighttime, he looked towards the open balcony. Rushing towards the ledge he checked the sundial. It was unreadable, signifying he had been asleep for hours. "Uh, dammit I still have a mountain of paperwork to finish." Alexius moaned. Then turning around to go back into his workplace was surprised when he saw a librarian there. Obviously confused by what has just happened the librarian hadn't piped up. Now Alexius asked him in a calm tone "Sorry about that. I had just been surprised about how long I have been asleep for. Now, what do you need with me?"

He was impatient, tapping his foot as the librarian started to speak "I was instructed by his highness to inform you that he will be in the library until your departure to the Middle Kingdom." Alexius rubbed his eyes and then asked the librarian "How long have you been looking for me?" "Since about midday m'lord." the librarian who was also impatient to return to his library replied. Sighing Alexius looked at the courtyard. Most of his family would be asleep by now and tomorrow, if it was still tomorrow he'd have to hand in all the paperwork to parliament verifying the consent to allow the royal family to leave the kingdom until an undisclosed date would arrive. Then he ordered the librarian to give a message to his brother. "Tell him that I might not be able to get him for the trip as I'll be in the parliament submitting and verifying the papers. But also tell him that if he needs me anytime before sunrise that I'll be in my office finishing up paperwork." The librarian nodded and then left towards the library.

With relife, Alexius entered his office. The small place where he worked most of the time. It was his little kingdom, with more than enough "citizens" to work on each day. Still, before he started work he reached into his small drawer and retrieved a small porcelain pot. Opening the pot there were tea leaves. He brewed some water in a small fireplace inside the room and then pouring himself some water onto the leaves to create the strong herbal drink that he loved. Taking a sip he started to read through the papers but now his mind was drifting off to somewhere else. "What is the goal of marrying all the royals? It can't only be to stop the wars. Is it to create a strong, central kingdom with a united royal family? Maybe it's to make a commonwealth or union of nations, making a central currency? Or is there more devious plans?" He pondered for a moment then deciding that he will ask all those questions to the queen of the middle kingdom decided to instead finish the stack of papers on his desk. So with a sip of tea and with the energy from sleeping for so long went to work.

Loosing himself in the books for the longest time, Deems' vision started to blur. Soon enough, Deems was startled awake by the loud closing of the library door, the librarian from earlier reentering and going behind the librarians counter at the front of the large room. Rubbing his face and asking himself aloud, "What time is it?" he looked up to see through the glass ceiling beyond was the dark night sky. Groaning but returning to his reading after he passed out, the librarian noticed him once more.

"Can I get you anything, your highness?" they asked him.

"Just some water, please," he responded, returning to his readings.

The western system of inheritance of the throne is determined by the birth right, but in the case of the heir being unable to rule the throne may be passed to a close relative depending on the circumstances. Should the ruler be unfit physically, mentally, or otherwise, this would result in a representative taking over their roles, or a blood relative taking the tasks of ruler. A ruler proven to abuse their power may be deposed, or should they commit a large crime against their country or a citizen therein. Parliament has the power to depose a ruler, as do the other royal members of the family should they agree to their incompetence...

The librarian returning with the water, along with a snack from the kitchen, Deems thanked them and prepared for the rest of his long night ahead. "Your brother, his royalty Prince Alexius wished me to tell you he may not be able to come get you, as he has much paperwork to do and has dealings with parliament concerning your departure. However, he will be in his office doing paperwork until sunrise, should you need him."

"Thank you," he said, though he was uncertain he'd go see his brother. He'd probably be aggravated at the interruption, as parliament certainly meant a lot to him. Trying to return to the research he was doing, his mind began to wander a bit, but he settled on staying here and reading all night, rather than leaving, to his chambers or to visit Alexius. It wasn't very interesting reading through this, but maybe something else...

"Do you have any recommendations, for just... entertainment?" he asked the librarian.

"Not historical or governmental? I can bring you something." the left, but quickly returned. "How about this one? It's a love story."

"That's fine, I guess..." turning the unfamiliar book over in his hands. The librarian took her leave, and Deems began to read the novel he'd been left with. He actually... enjoyed it. Not that he'd admit it, but he kind of was a sap and a total romantic. In the morning he'd pay for staying up all night instead of resting, but the romance novel was worth it.

Angeline (Angel) - Youngest Princess of the North - 16
tumblr_mnr90n0Tgk1qknmq4o4_500.png

Shaking her head, Angel decided to leave Kieran for now. He'd wake up sooner or later. Grabbing the plate of pastries, she made her way out of the room and down the corridors. She meant to go to her room and start packing, but then she stopped dead in her tracks. Swiveling around, she saw that the door labeled 'Nicholas' was ajar. No one went in there - other than Jae. Her older sister had banned the maids from entering. Angel herself had never taken the time to go in, although she had looked inside once, when Jae was inside. She hadn’t entered, then, not wanting to intrude. But back to the present - the door was open. And what was this feeling in her chest? Slowly, she stepped up to the door, and peeked in.

Inside, a man taller than her with blond hair seemed to be examining the room. What was he doing here? Then she remembered Jae describing her older brother Nicholas to her. He had blond hair, didn't he?

Angel stood there, frozen, not knowing what to say. Was he her brother? How do you ask someone that kind of question? What if he was? How should she act? Nonchalant? Sweet? Excited?

Celeste - Youngest of the Western Kingdom
Celeste didn’t look it, but she was relieved the servant would be traveling with her. She felt safer that way. She could have one hundred guards protecting her but she would never be at ease in a foreign kingdom. Having Theia with her, however, would be like a safety blanket. A familiar face in a strange land. Although they weren’t emotionally close, it was a piece of home.

“It’s odd. I never thought I would be this scared when it was time for me to marry.” Celeste needed to get her emotions off her chest. She couldn’t bother her siblings with her ramblings, they were always too busy with their positions. Besides it being boring, maybe that was one of the reasons she hated having to anything to do with running the kingdom. Growing up, it always took time away from getting to spend time with her siblings. In the case of Aeryn, it took her completely away for years. This left Theia the victim of her ranting.

“It’s honestly terrifying. Being away from my home, married to a man I’ve never met. I suppose I don’t have a choice,” she gave a defeated sigh. It probably wasn’t fair to Theia to have to listen to Celeste complain, but she was trustworthy. She knew that her lady-in-waiting would never spread gossip or repeat what she said. It was not only safe to talk to her but therapeutic.

Angel stared at the exchange between the maid and the man, wide-eyed. Judging from their conversation, it seemed that...he really was her brother.

The shock was fading, and replacing it was curiosity, and a desire to meet this man, to get to know him, this brother who she had never met. Even if he did display some aggressive tendencies, he wouldn’t hurt her, would he? She felt quite sure of that, and boldly entered the room.

He seemed to be sleeping on the floor. Had he really fallen asleep that quickly? She tread quietly, and knelt next to him. She didn’t want to bother him, but she really, really wanted to talk to him. “B...big brother?” she said softly.

Theia - Lady-in-Waiting to Princess Celeste of the West - 22
latest
Theia kept quiet, not knowing what to say. She was always willing to lend a listening ear, but she wasn’t sure if the princess wanted her to actually say something, nor was she sure what she could even say to console the young girl. What could she do?

She’d seen how some of the maids comforted each other when one of them cried. Could those methods work here? Would they be too impudent? But she really wanted to make the princess feel better.

Hesitantly, she reached a hand out to stroke the princess’ head.

Without warning, the man-who-may-be-her-brother pulled her to his chest. Her cheeks heated. What if this man wasn’t her brother after all? The thought of cuddling with a random man, who appeared a good number of years older than her, made her flush. She wriggled a bit against the metal. It didn’t work. “Ex-excuse me!” she said loudly, hoping to wake him up. “Big brother? Or, um, sir?” What would she do if it wasn’t her brother? She’d probably have him punished, she would! The embarrassment was starting to make her feel a bit too warm.

The man suddenly moved to pin her to the ground. Angel tried to let out a scream, but he pressed his finger to her throat, and her air was cut off before she could shout.

Her air was running out fast. Her hands shot up to the man’s, trying to pry his fingers off her throat, to no avail. Some last survival instinct kicked in. She somehow managed to think of appealing to him, appealing like she did with all the servants, all the nobles since she was younger. She made her crystal-blue eyes go round and wide, pleading. Tears filled her eyes. It wasn’t completely an act. “Bro...ther...” she whispered, her voice faint from lack of oxygen.

Suddenly her instincts ring up in her head. Something is off. Angeline... turning with a concerned frown to Akira, she looks at him signalizing him to follow her quietly. Hopefully, nothing bad happened... her instincts were never wrong, she kind of developed them because Angeline would sometimes be in big trouble. Not hesitating she looks around and notices that the door is opened. Her gaze narrows, she never would let anyone enter Nicholas' room, not even Angeline or the maids. She signalizes Akira to come after her, Jae storms into the opened room and sees her little sister strangled by a man. Immediately she runs up to them, freezing the enemy a little so he couldn't move anymore, and frees her beloved sister. But she seems unconscious... He will pay!

She carries Angeline to Akira "Bring her to somewhere safe and protect her with your life" she demands him before turning toward the frozen man. "How dare you entering my brother room and strangle my little sister. I will make you pay for that, stranger." She smiles bloodthirsty and comes closer to him. "You hopefully know what price it has when you try to kill a royal" she whispered giggling. Then when looking closer, she suddenly stops. He looks familiar... "What is your name, tell me and I will go easy on you" she demands him.
