Advice/Help Feedback on RP idea (Angel vs Devil and strong theme of free will)

You are an angel (or group of angels) tasked with defending humanity against demons and devils, who come out from Hell to corrupt people, possess or just physically hurt them. It is withing contract between Heaven and Hell, that you have right to fight and exile any demon, that you catch harming humans directly. Your job used to be very easy, until a new enemy appeared - Lucifer, the Sin of Pride himself.

His presence in your city causes enormous chaos and harm, but dealing with him is problematic. For instead of hurting people, Lucifer enables them. He finds those at their lowest point and grants them ability to make their darkest, most hateful thoughts into reality.

This causes a loophole in how your team normally operates. There is no demon to get rid of, no possession to deal with, not even a slightest harm made by the devil himself. Instead, there is only a human, who can do whatever they want, and you must stop them, before they hurt others and sentence themselves to Hell.

Any thoughts on that?

I quite like the idea, it's not immensely lore based because it's not needed. I find the plot playable and in fact, interesting. I think you might want to elaborate on how the Angel Team functions(Roles) and what's keeping the Angels and Demons from having an outright war though. Question though, are the angels going to become guardian angels for humans, is this how guardian angels came to be? (Personal ones, Jimmeny Cricket types) I like the RP idea, I'm just curious about a few things about the plot. INTEREST CHECK WISE, I think that snippet is perfect but do you have any in-depth details?

This is prompt inspired by someone else's prompt, so I can't say it's very well fleshed out, with exception of Lucifer, who is one of my recurring villains (chaos-incarnate archetype, like Joker).

Outright war would be avoided on the same basis as in today's world - if both sides were to engage at full power, they would wipe out each other and nobody would rise victorious. But as long as they play around the rules, they can still fight each other (like again - think Russia vs USA, they don't fight each other openly, but both influence other countries).

I think Guardian Angel in the normal sense of this word would be too limiting in this setting. You don't protect specific people, you protect all people.

Again, it's not very fleshed out. If I were to change it into the interest check, I would definitely need to put more thought into it.
