My personal favourites are Zevran, Alistair, and Sten-

I agree, though I was never a big fan of Solas. I also love Iron Bull very much.

I've only played Origins and 2, but Varric and Zevran were my favs. Alistair is cool too, but his boyish charm wore off for me after the seventh playthrough lol
