let's get some character sheets goin'. for now, there is no limit on how many characters you are allowed to make and use. but let's be reasonable, yes?
these fields are the bare minimum for a character in this roleplay, so if you feel called to include additional fields for details, you are more than welcome to do so

first, the fields for the fortuna:

The Fortuna are not living creatures, technically, but a collection of twenty-two fundamental concepts that have taken on a semblance of humanity due to an odd quirk of the universe's insistence on balance. Although the Fortuna's history goes back as far as history itself, they were officially codified and given names in the medieval age--what we know now as Tarot. The Fortuna now compete for the opportunity to have their influence raised above their peers and become the reigning god of this universe.

Name: Many Fortuna have given names that differ from their respective Tarot. Given their... eccentricities... however, these names tend to be something like "whatever sounded appropriate at the time," or may even be granted to them by their human allies.

Tarot: You've got 22 choices. No repeats!

Allied: Every Fortuna needs a human to ally with. However! There's no need to fill this out immediately, unless you intend to be Allied right at the start. This field can be properly filled in after the RP has started and Alliances have formed. You may be allied with your own human character, someone else's human character (everybody make sure everyone agrees to it!), or even an NPC if need be.

Appearance: Written or illustrated, I'm not picky. As Fortuna have selective visibility to normals, it's not necessary to have a human appearance, though many tend toward a humanoid form for convenience (you try operating human technology as an adorable blue-furred corgi).

Goal: As the physical embodiement of a concept, all Fortuna have a very definite idea of what they think the world needs, and a one-track mind for acheiving it. Feel free to think big here: this field represents what your character would do if they were literally the ultimate authority over the universe, and will be common knowledge to your fellow Fortuna. On a smaller scale, Fortuna tend to gravitate toward acting in support of this goal wherever possible; a Fortuna whose ultimate goal is to wipe out the world and start over with a clean slate, for example, might find herself tending to encourage revolution (especially of the sudden or violent variety).

Aura: One quirk of being an immortal concept shaped like a person is that a Fortuna's mere presence is an influence on the world around her. Explain what sort of fortune your character tends to herald.

Other: An optional field for everything else you'd like us to hear, including but not limited to: fixations, rivalries, anecdotes, etc. Some Fortuna may have special properties that may affect the game, so include those here as well.

next, for the humans:

The humans of Hundreds City are a diverse lot. The city, a sprawling metropolis located in the vaguest part of America, attracts individuals from all over the world and typically ranks among the most populous cities on the planet. As a result, there really is no "typical" citizen here; Hundreds come from every kind of background imagineable, and are employed in occupations as diverse as tattoo artists, dancers, university professors, to baristas and waiters. If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.

Name: This should require less explanation than the Fortuna template.

Allied: Not every human needs to be allied with a Fortuna, and if this is the case just use N/A. You may be allied with your own Fortuna character, or someone else's Fortuna character (assuming everyone agrees to it!). NPC Fortuna may be considered in the future.

Boon: For allied humans. Receiving a boon from a Fortuna allows one to accomplish any number of impossible feats. A boon may be as simple and direct as the ability to fire energy blasts, or it could be as cunning as the ability to read minds. This boon is yours as long as you hold your card, and is generally activated through this card (i.e. firing an energy blast by aiming your card at the target).

Appearance: I think we all know more or less what a human looks like. Illustration or written, I am not picky.

Goals & Motivations: Unlike Fortuna, not all humans have firm goals and a one track mind. Nonetheless, describe what motivates your character, or where they see themselves in five years; or if they're an immigrant to Hundreds City, their reasons for relocating.

Other: Everything else you'd like us to hear, including but not limited to: fixations, rivalries, anecdotes, etc.

Claimed: A player is considering this spot, so expect to have to fight to the death for it.
Taken: This spot has been filled.

behold, lex luthor

Name: Rainy

Tarot: XXI The World

Allied: Giovanni Riva

Appearance:
A golden-haired woman, classically beautiful, dressed only in the latest high fashion, and taller than you. She wears a wreath of laurels on her head and carries two wands, which may or may not be part of her body; it's difficult to tell with an anthropomorphized concept.

Goal:
Rainy represents relentless, unending progress. There is no end goal, and she cares not at all for results; just so long as things are moving along, numbers are getting higher, and growth never stutters. She's as happy to watch a tree's steady growth as a civilization's endless expansion.

Aura:
As the previous victor, Rainy's aura technically already suffuses the universe. Her aura of progress grows stronger in her physical presence, however: inspiration hits more often, productivity accelerates, and good fortune abides. However, humans tend to become workaholics, unable to rest as the need to work harder and more efficiently overtakes them. Humans will also eventually lose sight of their goals, willing to put in endless amounts of effort just to see meaningless numbers increase.

Other:
As noted, Rainy was the winner of the previous Game.
Rainy's full name, bestowed to her by Giovanni, is "Rainy Day Fund."
Rainy can be credited for the popularity of clicker games.
Name: Giovanni Riva

Allied: XXI The World "Rainy"

Boon:
Instant growth. The power is conceptual, and so works on multiple meanings of the word; irreversible; and not adjustable, the level of growth will always be absurd. Growth is also based on the target's potential, e.g. a sapling will grow into a full-size tree, but the power will fizzle when used on an artificial plant. The World's boon can be used only once on any target. To activate, Giovanni must touch his card to the target.

Appearance:
Giovanni Riva is a big man, wide as well as tall, with large and defined muscles. An ambitious businessman, his work requires him to look the part: you'll often find him wearing a tailored black business suit, a complement to his perfectly combed black hair. He's mastered the art of the public persona, and has a handsome face that's never been caught on camera sporting an ugly expression. According to his "Eligible Bachelors of Hundreds City" bio, he's 34 years old.

Goals & Motivations:
Giovanni Riva is a man motivated by his endless greed and ambition. He's spent a lifetime to get where he is now: at the peak of a mountain of money, the head of a Fortune 500 conglomerate, and Hundreds City's most eligible bachelor two years running. But he's not even close to done yet; he can always be richer, or more powerful, or more beloved, and to those sociopathic ends he can and will sink to any low acts that are necessary.

Other:
Despite the rumors, is definitely not Batman.
Has a cat, except it's an actual tiger, because that's just how rich people do.
CEO of a banking conglomerate.
Can hire hitmen, and has done so in the past.
Public approval rating: 92%.

note that these are antagonistic characters. your characters may be as physically and socially weak or powerful as you like.

Fortuna:

Name: Salem (Just the way Miracle Mercury calls him)

Tarot: The Magician

Allied: Miracle Mercury

Appearance: While he’s with Mercury he takes the form of a white cat with red eyes, with a red cape on his back and a red pointy hat on his head. In humanoid form he chooses to look like a skinny young white haired boy with red eyes, cape, hat and light skin.

Goal: He wants to take the world back to medieval times, when he ruled over humanity and magic was still something everyone believed that existed and some even used it.

Aura: Being around him gives you the impulse to improve your life and form a new path to follow, technology glitches and breaks around him if he chooses to. Lastly but not least, he gives inspiration for cooking, potion brewing, alchemy and literature of mystical base. People can find new ways to use their innate abilities around him (Including their boons) since he’s the ultimate mystical inspiration.

Other: Salem made the boon with Mercury under false pretense, he knew she was a fan of the magical girl genre and made everything sound like this whole thing was a magical girl anime come to life thing. As such, she thinks she’s saving the world from evil monsters that have possessed innocent humans and the only way to save them is taking their magical cards away. He thinks that this way Mercury won’t feel so bad when eventually she gets someone killed. Although he’s deceptive and manipulative he cares for those he gives a new start in life.

Human:

Name: Miracle Mercury (Not real, but for now no one needs to know it.)

Allied: Salem

Boon: Magical Mercury has gained the ability to summon and control the four primordial elements, being: Water, Earth, Fire and Air and create/use spells according to their attributes. Her magical card doesn’t need to be directly in her hand to use this power; instead she needs her magical wand (Which has the card as power source). Every element has a side effect to the adversary that gets hit by it and is directly related to the element’s attribute: Water (Emotional), Earth (Physical), Fire (Spiritual) and Aire (Mental). This means that Fire attacks burn also the soul and fire element spells and rituals involve communicating with the afterlife, Water attacks leave the victim with insecurity and fear while the spells allow for empathy, Earth based attacks are stronger than the natural earth would be so they cause way more damage and resist as much while earth based spells involve transmutation, Air attacks keep the receiver from concentrating by giving them headaches and air based spells focus on affecting the mind and reading it.

Appearance: While her real appearance is as much of a mystery as her real name, Magical Mercury has long and silky almost white hair with a rainbow glow on it as the light hits it. In her cheeks they are two pink hearts marks and although her eyes are blue they have a pink heart mark glow in them. She uses a black short dress with pink details and her magical wand resembles a short black staff with a big pink gem-like heart on top and floating white wings around it, inside is her magical card powering it up.

Goals & Motivations: She’s a innocent young girl that believes everything that Salem, her alleged familiar, says. In order to save the world she will take away the evil magical cards that corrupt the humans. Because she’s so innocent and has been lied about everything involving this war she’s very unpredictable, as will be even more so when she realizes the truth.

Other: She doesn’t know that she also has a magical card, believing that is actually a magical wand. Her cute, young, small looks and non-threatening demeanor often gives her the upper hand since no one actually thinks she’s even involved in the war until they see her using real magic.

IUSTITIA | JUSTICE

F O R T U N A
name — iustitia.
goes by — tia, or justice.
etymology — iustitia is the roman goddess of equity, created with the will of the mighty emperor augustus. the name is actually latin for 'justice', which is the version she prefers to acknowledge since there is only one personification of justice, herself.
tarot — justice.
ally — tbd.
appearance — much like it appears on the rider-waite smith deck, iustitia is a fair-skinned blonde woman who seems to be relatively young-looking. she towers over almost everyone she comes across and has a lithe body type. as pictured above, she wears a flowing red dress synonymous with medieval gowns, which reaches just past her feet. over top, a matching red robe surrounded by gold embroidery. she has a crown on her head, but no one knows whether or not she is a true royal. iustitia always wears a white blindfold, for she doesn't actually have eyes. she caries around a golden scale and a sword.
goal — men are men. no matter what your biological make-up is, your values, your morals, what you idolize, men are created equal. iustitia is calloused when it comes to this ideology. she will not take pity because they're a pregnant woman or a crippled child unless they atone for their crimes. therefore, iustitia wants balance restored onto earth. the justice system amongst men is clearly flawed, and it disgusts her.
aura — those nearby iustitia will be forced to speak what's on their mind. it's not exactly making someone tell the truth, more like making them say their first thought in order to sound blunt. this effect gets weaker the farther you step away from her, but the ability is quite daunting to witness. after all, a human with no secrets is no human at all.
symbols — a scale, a blindfold, olive wreaths.
trivia
+ because iustitia is actually blind, she uses her intuition and abilities to maneuver the world. her other senses are also heightened.
+ sometimes, splotches of blood can appear on the fabric of her blindfold, where her eyes are supposed to be.

Coeus
The Man in the Moon

Coeus of the Moon.jpg

Allied
Klaus Engle, a desperate man with a sharp mind

Appearance Aldous the Scholar.jpg

Coeus appears as a human being
Albeit a somewhat peculiar looking one
Nothing more, nothing less
But as one should know from the Man in the Moon
Not all things are as they seem

Height

206 cm

Weight

118 kg

Physique

Aside from slightly broad shoulders, Coeus is a rather wiry and lean lean man with a build that accentuated his bodily length.

Wardrobe style

Greyscale, mostly black, formal, and plenty of lengthy frock coats and silver-rimmed glasses.

Notable Features

Coeus adopts a form that appears with type-OCA1a albinism, lacking any pigment whatsoever. Although his eyes occasionally appear red in certain lighting, they generally appear very light grey-blue.

Goal
There is meaning in all things, and that includes the meanings that we construct ourselves. We are not born without intention, but learning is an endless quest. Information is infinite. Knowledge is ceaseless. With progression in life comes answers, but not all questions are known. The Moon sees that not all things are as they appear, and the Man in the Moon possesses a great hunger for knowing the unknown. A trade, a specialty, an interest, the things that lie beneath the surface belong to him, and he will find them all.

Aura
A moon waxes and wanes, with glowing silver light to bring the darkness into light, or eclipsing the sun so bright, obscuring all from others' sight. The presence of the Man in the Moon alters the tongues of men to reveal truths they know, or to bite down on them to keep things secret. Fate itself offers knowledge to Coeus, and even the smallest of details are brought to attention. When a puzzle is offered, the solution soon follows him. When secrets must be kept, he shrouds them from the world. Knowing things and not knowing things are two sides of the same coin, and are his domain.

Other
Really fond of seafood and cranberry-grape juice
Poetry, literature and theater nerd
Loves lovecraftian horror

Klaus Engle
Knowledge is Power

Allied
Coeus, the Man in the Moon

Boon
When knowledge is power, the Moon shines brightly to reveal what there is. The more available information is, the easier it is to know. As long as he holds the card of the Moon, Klaus retains vasts amounts of publicly available knowledge, such as information from scholarly articles both documented on the internet and in libraries. In regards to personal information, physical contact between Klaus, the card of the Moon, and the person that withholds that information is required. The less knowledge needed, the quicker this interaction is. Bank account numbers and computer passwords are quick to find out. Experiences take longer and play out as memories tend to do. It is extremely difficult to attain information when someone is on guard and doesn't want Klaus to find out, nearly impossible when they know what information he wants, and absolutely impossible if they are aware of all memories they have that can offer such information. When information is received from a target, Klaus can use the card of the Moon on things like an ATM to have access to that person's bank account, or that person's personal computer to gain access to their emails or personal documents. While this is certainly quicker than hacking, it still takes the amount of time in order to input and receive information.

klaus engle.jpgAppearance
It's more than likely you've seen him already
This poor bastard sleeping on the side of the street
Stalking the alleyways at night without a sound
Shoplifting from grocery and convenience stores
Digging through the trash cans
Sometimes waiting by the ATMs

Height

193 cm

Weight

96 kg

Physique

Though with some amount of musculature, a very ordinary man in size and stature.

Wardrobe style

Grungy black hoodies and t-shirts, ripped grey jeans, grimy black sneakers nothing more.

Notable Features

There aren't as many eyes as tired and bloodshot as his.

Goals & Motivations
Once upon a time, Klaus Engle was the eyes and ears of powerful men, the giants of this world, ones who lacked hearts and souls. He dedicated his life to them, and, as a professional and highly gifted hacker, had seen into the lives and the minds of men, offering them up to those above as they chewed them up, and either spit them out or swallowed. But he was betrayed by those he serviced. His life, ruined. What few people he loved, gone forever from his life. And he was incarcerated. Time passed before he saw the open world again, but he had nothing. Nowhere to go. No one to ask for pity. Revenge may be a petty drive, but hate is a good a reason as any to keep on going.

Other
An incredibly gifted mind when it comes to the hardware and software of computers
A talented hacker to be sure
Likes his fast food
IT guy for money, even has a cardboard sign

Fortuna
Name: Hanged Man

Tarot: XII - The Hanged Man

Allied: Percival 'Percy' Petrarch

Appearance: This Fortuna, since it represents the losing of something to grant another anew, is made of purple strings with the thickness of rope and the texture of yarn. It's not covered, Hanged Man is actually just made from these strings. Picture one of those faceless mannequins covered skin-tight with purple yarn, and you have Hanged Man. This also allows him to unravel bits of his body, since there's nothing underneath, and use for various purposes. He also occasionally sports a black knee-length cloak, and a lop-sided checker-patterned top hat, both of which are worn over his yarn-rope body.

Goal: Out of most areas in mortal history, what are ones which people view as the best of the worst? During oppression, or war, or plague, what did people have that gave them hope or inspiration to keep hoping? The Renaissance, an era of enlightenment, filled with skilled thinkers and sculptors, what did they all have in common? The creation of art. Not just painting or sculpting, but the arts in general, from theater to kabuki to poetry. Hanged Man sees how the world remains covered, filled with rage, but with the potential for something more. He wishes to rid people of their primal, uncanny and up-front violent urges, or at least calm them to a tamable degree. With these urges gone, they can unleash what they all have bottled up inside: Creativity, inspiration, art, and hope.

Aura: When around others, Hanged Man causes men and women alike to think on their misgivings, on any guilt they might have for actions that weren't necessary. To get rid of these thoughts, they will be compelled (not highly or anything, but it's now on their mind) to do something creative of helpful for themselves or others.

Other: Can be exceptionally dramatic at times. Likes to quote people, particularly works of literature or film, seeming to focus on Shakespeare or other classics of the like. He also has a fondness for classical music, as well as bright colors or uncanny shapes. Hanged Man also has a slight rivalry with Epitaph, the Hierophant, since they both strive for opposing factors (all for one versus individualism).
Human

Name: Percival 'Percy' Petrarch

Allied: Hanged Man

Boon: Percy not only now has a photographic memory, but can consume media and/or content at an increased rate, and can write/draw with a quicker speed, even more so if it's something from memory. Any drawings will be extremely well-detailed, and if they are meant to be stylized in any way, they will be to an almost-perfect degree. He also now is able to learn how to play an instrument in a very short amount of time.

Appearance: Percy has short, slightly-curly dark brown hair that's almost never combed correctly, due to it's natural wild nature. He has light-brown eyes which are usually obstructed by his orange and black speckled-rim glasses, which are usually very dusty. He can commonly be seen with bags under his eyes due to how many all-nighters he pulls to work on his book. Percy is around six feet tall, with a slightly-muscular/thin frame, due to him going to the gym two times a week or so. His wardrobe consists of clothing that's usually very baggy or comfortable-styled, and his only pairs of shoes are a somewhat-nice pair of sandals and some white tennis shoes, plus a secret pair of black dress shoes for important occasions which never come.

Goals & Motivations: Percy is writing a novel. This sounds simple enough, but it's not. Not only can he not express his ideas on paper very well, but his deadline is in a month or so and he's only about halfway finished. His starting goal is to finish his book. Other motivations include spending more time with his sister, Patience, after their parents had to go overseas for family-matters, as well as learn the violin, since it was a gift from his mother.

Other: Though his apartment seems dull, Percy enjoys vibrant things, even having a vaporwave theme for his desktop and browser settings. His favorite number is fourteen, and he frequents a local Japanese restaurant near his building, which is also a great place to work while eating. He's even good friends with the family that runs it because of said visits. His grandfather has recently gotten very sick, so both of his parents have had to leave for indeterminate amount of time, though they try and call him whenever they can. He has a sister, Patience, who is currently in college for an art degree, and whom has very little time to do stuff she enjoys. Due to a recent accident with administration, however, she's had more free time, and the two siblings have been trying to rekindle their friendship that remained since she left for school.

Name: Inja (literally means Hermit in Japanese)

Tarot: The Hermit.

Allied: Takeo Shima.

Appearance: An unkempt man, looks like a homeless tramp. His hair is a dirty gray, cut raggedly around his shoulders, and he sports a long beard of the same color. His face is by no means attractive, but that seems to be more neglect than actual genetics. Those who meet his gaze find that his eyes hold the weight of incredible wisdom and knowledge, beyond what any mortal could hope to possess.

Goal: To help the human race to gain as much wisdom as possible. Knowledge and wisdom are infinite, a frontier which is ever expanding beyond what one person could know. Inja wishes for all humans to unlock the wisdom within themselves, and to push forward that frontier of knowledge, simply to know.

Aura: Inja’s aura is one of introspection. Spending time around him leaves one questioning oneself, and tends to make people more trusting of their own decisions over those of others. They will also be driven to seek knowledge around them, just to know more. Depending on one’s personality, spending time around Inja could make one into a sage or a scholar, or drive one totally mad, bringing out buried tendencies.

Other: Inja is responsible for a large number of monasteries and hermitages around the world, quite a few he founded almost by accident. He is also considered a bodhisattva (one who is close to enlightenment) by several sects of Buddhism.

Name:.Takeo Shima

Allied: Inja, The Hermit.

Boon: Takeo’s boon allows him to find flaws within himself, as well as knowledge that he didn’t know he had. The ability to find flaws is usually the more useful of the two, as knowing his own flaws intrinsically allows him to spot flaws within others. It’s not a perfect science, and Takeo has yet to fully master it.

Appearance: Takeo is a tall, lean man, with light tan skin and dark green eyes. He keeps his head shaved most of the time, and wears an orange monk’s robe normally. When fighting, however, he changes to a set of loose white clothing that hides his form. He also keeps his hands, feet and face wrapped in white cloth, as to hide his identity.

Goals & Motivations: Takeo is a monk, one who cares for people. He believes that the wisdom Inja wishes for all would all but end suffering among people, and so he fights for The Hermit. He has a large family, whom he cares for quite a bit. He’s close to his older sister, who runs a MMA gym in the city, and they will often spar with one another quite a bit.

Other: Takeo is a Buddhist, albeit a somewhat nontraditional one. He’s a warrior monk, trained in a variety of martial arts as well as being proficient in various other fighting styles.

XIII Death

"What is life without death? Meaningless torture. Fools be the men that fail to understand it."

Name: Silver | Jonathan Wong (Fake Human Identity)

Allied: Camille Wong

Appearance: Skin so thin and pale, glimmering veins can be seen through it. Hair so dark it seems to be crafted from abyss. Eyes that seem to hold an ever-shifting universe within them. An ethereal vision, so entrancing that no human can look away once they meet his gaze. Sounds eerie, doesn't it? Luckily for all involved, Silver tends to keep to a different, much more "realistic" form to prevent attracting attention. Currently his default is a vaguely-Asian teenage boy that's just pretty enough to pass for his pretty Allied human's younger brother. Other Fortunas & their Bonded humans would be able to see his true form in flashes, though, like a hologram-disguise glitching.

Goal: For humans to suffer and, from it, learn. Silver is the symbol of profound change; an innate shift, an upheaval of beliefs. He is the idea of growth by overcoming obstacles, of gaining strength through pain and learning from sorrow. It is in the nature of humanity to gain solidarity and bring about miracles only in the face of the worst of disasters and the greatest of enemies. Silver is their catastrophe, their invincible foe — their catalyst toward a higher state of mind. Plagues, fires, droughts, wars; the era of Death has always been one of endless tempering.

Aura: Humans are reminded of their mortality when in Silver's presence. But their reaction to that reminder tends to be wildly different and often unique to the individual. The immediate response is silence, of course. When he walks into a room, people go quiet and tense without understanding why, feeling an odd and sudden metaphorical hole in their chest. They feel hollow; sad, but thoughtful. Some are prompted to cut themselves off from things, or even people, that they believe will doom them. Others go on a rampage in protest of the sudden understanding that their life is meaningless. There are even those that decide to turn their life around completely, go on a path of religion or faith or the like. Anyhow, nobody stays the same after meeting Death.

Other:
  • Silver has a record of winning quite often, especially in the long-ago past, and thus has a rather strong and constant presence in the world regardless of victory or defeat.
  • Silver tends to not speak to any human but his ally. It's really for their own good, since too much interaction with him often has the side-effect of driving them mad. Turns them into tyrannical rulers, bloodthirsty maniacs, et cetera.
  • Has a habit of reverting to his primordial-space-god-thing form when angry. His voice in that form is about as inexplicable as you might expect, all chorus of tiny echoes and multiple, unsettling tones. Otherwise is shockingly gentle for someone who enjoys wreaking havoc on the human race.
  • Fond of cats. Will get distracted by particularly cute ones on the street.

Foxglove

"In the wild, the most beautiful things tend to be the most venomous."

Name: Camille Wong

Allied: Silver | XII Death

Appearance: Tall and slender, Camille's figure is reminiscent of runway models or ballet dancers, all elegance and grace. Her eyes are dark enough to be called black; the kind that seem to glint under the right light, and her long hair is the same, appearing almost to reflect light. With delicate features, porcelain skin and the classic red lips, she could be considered quite the beauty. Could be, if it were not for the jagged scar that stretches from her temple down her left cheek.

Boon: When her card touches something, it steals one vital part, whether that be an ability, a physical portion or even something as abstract as memory, and gives it to her in a slightly distorted form. A piece of its victim that they would struggle, perhaps even fail to function, without. A knife's sharp edge, a cheetah's speed, a sniper's aim. When used without intention, what the card removes is rather random. Camille has only started to learn how to direct the ability at something specific and has only mastered it on objects. In addition, she can only remove what she received on her end and can't "give it back". Things like Boons, strength or knowledge will naturally re-manifest in their original owners over time, but she's never seen the same happen for the more physical properties.

Motivation: For one, to protect the being called Silver, whom she believes is her savior. To her best knowledge, losing this game will be a terrible thing for the "boy" (it won't, of course, the only thing it might damage is his pride), and therefore she must win it. For two, to earn enough money to finally retire from her exhausting job and eff off to Macau or something to live a long, nice, stress-free life. You'd think she'd be filthy rich by now, considering her line of work, but hospital fees for her mother drains most of her funds. Well, that and her penchant for expensive things, though she won't admit it.

Other:
  • Is a professional interrogator. Not killer, no, though she does that sometimes. She's the go-to if there's a stubborn head you want to crack. Used to work in a mercenary team, playing solider and all, but she felt like torture was more so her true calling. For the sake of not being hunted down by paranoid rich folks that hire her, she never shows up in person, regardless of how much money anyone offers. Doesn't use her real name, either, of course, being better known as Foxglove among the shadier folks.
  • Rarely stays in one place for more than a month. Hundreds City is an exception, since she has to play the game, and she's had to put her work on hold for it.
  • Did actually have a younger brother named Jonathan. He died along with their father in a mysterious car accident. Shortly after that, her house burned down in an even more mysterious fire, leaving her mother in a coma from a falling pillar. Considering that her parents were scientists for a pharmaceutical research company, it's not difficult to imagine what might have transpired.
  • Has survived an almost ridiculous number of threats to her life. Attempted murder, being trapped in a room with a bomb, having poison put in her wine, et cetera.
  • Has a lowkey gambling addiction. Offer her a bet and there are very few circumstances where she'd refuse it.

Fortuna
Name: Dybbuk

Tarot: XV - The Devil

Allied: Eden Marie Asherah

Appearance: This Fortuna has two forms, since it doesn't enjoy being invisible much. The first is an old wooden box, similar to a Dybbuk box of which it takes its name. The second is the humanoid form it takes, that of a rotting corpse, twisted by mold and age. Much of its face is black and red, with many features obscured by the gore. Only one yellow eyeball is still in tact, as well as a few chains that are connected to his neck, wrists, and ankles.

Goal: Politics, façade, outbursts... human beings have been pulling themselves thin for generations now. For the Fortuna known as the Devil, his goal is not to raize the land or burn down the capital. No, in fact, he wanted to help these people overcome their simple-mindedness, break through the barriers that contain them in their homes, in their beds, on the streets. Dybbuk wishes for all humans to express what they truly want, all the time. No more hiding behind faces or jobs, no more icky laws that obstruct this path, true freedom and temptation must be one in the same.

Aura: When around others, Dybbuk will cause people to feel much more inclined to do as they wish without considering the consequences.

Other: Speaks in a raspy tone. The chains on its humanoid form are broken at the ends, but sometime connect to each other, tough this has no bearing on any abilities he may have.
Human

Name: Eden Marie Asherah

Allied: Dybbuk

Boon: If Eden Marie is able to touch the card to another's skin, she becomes aware of one of their deep desires. This is only useful if she then makes a deal with them, trading some form of this desire for a favor to Eden. After her end is met, it turns out that this 'favor' is the ability to control this persons body as she pleases, with the limit being five days in the future. Afterwards, the victim will believe they simply had a Blackout, since this effect can be made whenever and wherever as long as Eden finishes her part of the deal.

Appearance: With a somewhat-tamed wild plume of light-blonde hair, Eden Marie is always able to look good no matter the circumstances. Being one of the top models of the year, raising in the publics eyes since she was 19, Eden has had much experience with fashion, starting with her first photo-shoot for a local Hot Topic. She has quite the taste for dark colors as well, matching her pale yet tinted skin, her little need for makeup, and her hair which seemed to fit right in with whichever outfit she tried on all the time. Even for casual clothes, Eden Marie is able to direct all attention towards herself in her use of light and shadow balanced in her fashion choices.

Goals & Motivations: What more could someone as popular as Eden Marie desire? That is the question that she thought on for four years, questioning her line of work and motivation. But after Dybbuk chose her, she knew what she desired. This game would prove that Eden could do more than have a pretty face, afterall, she had been manipulative in her childhood and her high-school years. When she won this game with the help of a God, she would know that she really can come out on top all the time, no matter the subject. And she is ready to use all means necessary to do so.

Other: Eden Marie has two first names, and though both are a viable option for formality, she enjoys being called Eden during any casual business. She is currently living in a rental home within the City, and taking shoots left and right to plaster her face across the town as much as possible. Because though she has abilities to spy on the others, or even find out who they are, she also likes a challenge, and making the competition come to her turf would help quite a bit with that, hence her choosing of the home she will be staying in.

Name: Abrams
Tarot: Strength
Ally: Ryan Mundy
Appearance: A tall, muscular man with close-cropped dark hair and an eyepatch that covers his left eye. His face is somewhat scarred, but he remains rather handsome, in a battered way. He stands with an air of deadly purpose and strength. He wears a set of military fatigues with no logos or insignia, and he carries no weapons.
Goal: Abrams considers his purpose to be a simple one: Inspire strength in others, particularly those whom he finds worthy of that strength. He seeks out those whom he deems to have great potential, and lifts them up to be the best versions of themselves. He often finds his chosen in veterans of the military, and he inspires them to be far better than they once were, giving them purpose and confidence.
Aura: Abrams’ arua is one of strength and purpose. In spending time around him, you find yourself uplifted if you’re aimless, given some purpose. If Abrams has a goal in mind, his aura will often make others around him more helpful to the end he desires. It doesn’t give physical strength, but it gives one inner strength, a sense of power that could rival strength of the body or of the mind.
Other: Abrams’ chosen help his ally, acting as soldiers. They have no supernatural powers, but are still a force to be reckoned with.
He is a great lover of literature, both classical and modern, and is extremely well read. He spends a good portion of his time reading or rereading one book or another.

“At the end of the day, as long as there’s two people left of this planet, someone is gonna want someone dead”
Name: Ryan Mundy
Allied: Abrams
Boon: A powerful inner strength that manifests as supernatural physical strength and healing ability. When Ryan is motivated by a goal he has to accomplish, he becomes incredibly strong, able to get up from wounds that would probably kill him otherwise. Without some kind of motivation, however, he’s just a normal guy, albeit one with a massive amount of military training.
Appearance: A large man with broad shoulders and bulky muscles, with tattoos covering both arms and his chest. He has white-blond hair that comes down to his shoulder, kept in a neat braid. He tends to wear cargo pants and tank tops, along with military style boots, all in black.
Goals & Motivations: Ryan was aimless when he met Abrams, and the Fortuna gave him a sense of purpose, like the one he’d had while serving in the military. He’s grateful for that, as he had nowhere to go when he was discharged, so working with the Fortuna gave him something to do. He has command over Abrams’ other chosen, and he quickly found friendship with them. He wants to win the game, as to continue to find purpose with Abrams. He fears that without Strength, he would be lost and hopeless.
Other: A former military special operative, Ryan has training in a spectacular number of firearms, but his ‘signature’ weapon is a modified CheyTac M200 Intervention sniper rifle. Ryan has a good sense of humor, and a natural charisma that makes him a good commander.

The Beast and his Lair

Theme Song

The Belly of the Beast
The Tower

Allied

Edward Gallows

Appearance

You might have seen it in the slums
A hotel that looked like it was scheduled for demolitions
Falling apart, covered in grime and mold and moss and dust
But the neon light stays on, flickering, and dim, struggling lights
From windows that reach into the sky
They struggle to exist, but they glow in the night no less
Welcome to the Burning Tower Hotel

Goal
Doom offers no goals to the world save for the lust for destruction. Chaos and fire and blood would flood the streets were the Tower caring enough to walk about. No. Doom has its heralds. But Doom itself simply exists.

Aura
It's mere presence signifying misfortune and calamity, the closer you are, the more you pass by, the worse your time in this world will be. But outside of the Tower, these are merely nuisances, thorns in the side, minor obstacles. But enter the Burning Tower Hotel, and prepare for the worst. Those who enter, at the very least, become a carrier of the disease that festers within, calamity that spreads and lessens as it does. Only the truly strong are allowed to survive entering the building for long.

Other

Edward Gallows
A Monster in the shape of a Man

Allied

The Tower

Boon
The Herald of the Tower is granted the strength and perseverance of a walking natural disaster. Having placed the card of the Tower into his very blood, safe in the very heart of the Tower, Edward is a walking force of nature, with excess strength and monstrous constitution in exchange for his mind and soul.

Appearance
He's not hard to miss, but he's good at leaving no witnesses
A flesh and blood body appropriate for one named the Tower
A perpetual scowl offers no sincerity except irritation
Don't expect any conversations
