Faster Artifact creation through group Wyld-Shaping?

One Time Luck
Say you create yourself a legion of Artificers by either using: 1) Wyld-Shaping Technique for the people, then giving them the Wyld-Mutation of Essence Channeler through Wyld Cauldron Technique (and hoping you have a generous ST that allows three charms for starting Essence Channeling players), or 2) Celestial Circle Spell "The Spawning of Monsters", but either way they all share the Wyld-Shaping Technique charm. Would this group be treated as a max difficulty reducer of -3 as by Savant & Sorcerer rules, or would this group be actually able to pool their Wyld-Shaping Craft successes to complete an artifact together, as long as everybody knew what they had to do? Though the 2nd ed. Corebook says that Wyld-Shaping can't increase the process by more than tenfold, but still permits the character to supplement his actions with Craftsman Needs No Tools to decrease the time further, it seems to imply as if this would only apply to one character's application of this charm. So, if the group could pool their successes, could the addition of each NPC with Wyld-Shaping also increase the speed multiplier of the construction process as well?

For example, you're trying to create a level 2 artifact and you have assembled your crew, the necessary mundane and exotic ingredients, and you go into the Middlemarches. The character makes the difficulty of 4 for the crafting process of a Level 2 artifact, and after the others get their first 5 successes for the base difficulty of manipulating the Wyld, everybody starts pooling accumulated successes after hours of grueling work that add up to 30. Boom! You got yourself a Level 2 artifact. Does this work? Your input on this would be much appreciated.

i guess it would also depend on wether these newly created humans count as extras or not, although im not very familiar with wyld-shaping magic i can say that extra's when it comes to building things arnt all that great.... but thats just my opinion, yep nothing beats good-old non extra exalted help.

Anyway yes by rights they should be able to channel there pools (asisted role) to complete a task. also when using your shaping magic (i hope were talking solar lore charms) although it would be more difficult it is possible to create people who are like exalts... meaning they can actually learn solar charms.

All in all though your idea looks quite sound to me.

Well yeah, but Essence Channelers created through the influence of Wyld energies can pretty much learn any charm, it just takes 15 experience points per charm after character creation, and each takes several weeks to learn. If you create a creature through "The Spawning of Monsters" spell, and you yourself swallow the acorn, you could technically create yourself some highly skilled, but ultimately socially challenged, God-Blooded/Beastmen. God-Blooded have no limit to their charm selections either, as long as they are not Ghost-Blooded or Half-Caste. Either way, they could learn Solar charms, albeit at higher costs.

Even if this little loop hole is used for Artifact creation, it would statistically increase the chances for failure, as it takes only one to botch the roll to scrap the project (unless, of course, God-Blooded and Essence Channelers can learn the Second Lore Excellency). Hope to get more answers from you people.

Alright, with input from the White Wolf Forum, the scores so far are:

Pooling: 2

Teamwork Rules: 1

Difficulty Reducer -1: 1

Is it me, or are some of those White Wolf forum posters a little on the grouchy side?

It's just you. They're sweet as pie. Seriously. No sarcasm here. None. Really.

Why bandy about with spawning? Look at imbue amalgam... it's a fast-track ticket to making wyld-shapers without undue time spent preparing.

Or if you want to make essence channellers the hard way, might as well spend some time at it for quality's sake and make solar half-caste who can be all-round awesome as well as wyld-shapey. Raise them in the bordermarches from 10 years onwards and force them to learn fast...

Yes, I am familiar with Imbue Amalgam, but unfortunately my character doesn't have that spell yet, and it's kinda hard to get the stone from the quarries of the Blessed Isle. Most Storytellers will not allow you to use Wyld-Shaping to let you create the stone, so it can be quite expensive to get that component through channels. Guild merchants can be quite the money-grubbing bastards, but luckily you can also create Wealth with Wyld-Shaping. But in the long run, Amalgams are very useful in Artifact creation, because I don't think they have the ability limit like Exalts do.

Unfortunately the storyline of the campaign I'm in is fast paced, so I don't have time making little Half-Caste.
