Well, I think you know what's been going on in the world lately. Since I am effectively confined to my house for the foreseeable future, I think I'll be open for an additional RP slot.

I've been looking to tackle a fantasy roleplay. I wanted to take a common pairing, but give it a little twist. We all know the Princess and the Knight pairing and the typical story that entails, where the brave templar wades through a treacherous tower and slays a dragon to save the royalty, and live happily ever after. Or the Princess and her Guard, where the Princess is to be married to another kingdom and she ends up forming a forbidden love with her Guard, then the two run off to be together.

I wanted to try something a little different. The Princess here doesn't spend time cooped up in some castle. She's actually quite active and goes around doing heroic work herself. While she's still required to be accompanied by a guard, it's more of a formality as the Princess can more than take care of herself. Plus, the Guard has some wisdom and experience he likes to impart on his charge and he occasionally trains her.

I wanted to play off this pairing with a comical edge. The Guard is a straight-faced, professional, butler-esque type who can play off the Princess. The Guard is by no means terrible at fighting, as he does live up to the job description, he just rarely gets to fight, since the Princess is so capable herself. There's elements of comedy, action, and adventure as the duo go about their business.

If anyone is interested, feel free to DM! We can collaborate on a plot together from there and I'm already cooking up some ideas!



Some quick guidelines:

• I am in my twenties and prefer to roleplay with others in that range.
• I'm considered high casual to advanced, so anywhere from one paragraph to several is fine.
• I am ghost friendly. As much as a heads up would be appreciated, this is something I've learned to live with.
• While there is bound to be an overarching plot, that doesn't meant there can't be some adventures that are more silly and fun. After all, it is meant to be adventurous.
• You will have to be semi-decent at writing action scenes, as there will be moments where combat is involved.

Normally, I would try to PM you. However, the site is preventing me from doing that currently, possibly due to my account age. I am new to this site, yes, but I am not new to roleplay in general. I am an avid writer of over 15 years, with most of that experience being on other forum boards. I can provide writing samples on request. I am a bit rusty, but I am by no means a greenhorn. I am actually in my thirties, so I hope that is acceptable. If not, go ahead and let me know from here.

-- First of all, which role were you considering for yourself? The princess or the guard? It was not clearly stated, but I'm taking a guess being the guard, purely on the fact there was a bit more information on that as well as a picture included. I will assume this is the case for the following questions.

-- Did you have an age range in mind? Is the guard more of an older tutor? Like a fatherly mentor? Is he closer to her age, like an older brother type? Or would he be similar in age so they could relate to one another more? I am fine with any option. It just helps to get a feel for the other character idea. Based on this, I have a few ideas to toss in on how to proceed or how she might act.

-- Will romance be involved? I understand that explicit scenes of the sort are not allowed here. I am not opposed to any decision you make. Adventure, fun and games, and just overall silly over-the-top combat could be entertaining all on its own, after all.

I'll take your questions one at a time.

1.) While I am decent at both roles, I would likely play the Guard as I like being straight faced and professional characters to contrast others. It's easier for me to play and sets up some decent comedy.

2.) Depending on the story, this can change. But I think it would lean more towards elderly mentor/tutor. The king and queen trust the guard immensely, so if he says their daughter is safe, they'll believe him.

3.) Romance can be involved, though it might be with a side character as the guard would be more of a wise mentor who may even offer advice on how she could pick up suitors and the like. I have no issue with romance being involved.

Hello, this had caught my interest. I love playing capable female fighter types. Most of my OCs are some type of Lady Knight character, capable with both sword and bow as well as general magics if allowed. Though a shape-shifting type of magic is my favorite, and yes, said magic has its own limitations.
