The Plot
Ages ago, there lived a breed of people referred to as the Secret Ones, who lived within the dense forests of Ethelarien. Fabled to be magic, they spoke with the trees and commanded animals at will, living beside nature as well as in it, taking what they needed without falling into excess, unlike the common man who took as much as he pleased, whilst giving nothing in return. They danced in graceful rings around green-watered ponds that were rumored to be portals leading to an underwater world of mermaids that lived beneath the surface man walked upon, and sang to the twinkling stars in harmonious voices no man could describe with what words he knew - not that any man could have, for the Secret Ones were no more than stories.
Or were they? Thomas - a runaway servant from Helith Castle, flees into the dark woods where he meets a strange girl called Akritte - a wild girl who claims to be born of the earth, the trees, and the sky. Accompanied by an obedient pack of wolves and armed with bow and arrows, several sharp daggers, and hard fists like the strongest steel, the girl defends the lonely home that she knows in the woods, seeming to live with no other purpose but existing. Who is this girl, and where has she come from? What is her purpose? Thomas is filled with endless questions, but none that will be answered if his master, Lord Bellis, manages to capture him again.
I need someone to play Thomas, a meek, fearful young boy that has fled his cruel, angry master, Lord Bellis. Lord Bellis is an insanely cruel master that kills over the slightest disobedience, and beats his servants into total submission. Thomas, after suffering this abuse all his life, is on his last leg with his master after lying about Bellis' favorite mount escaping under the boy's care. Knowing that he will likely be bludgeoned to death like one of the other servants, he runs away from the castle and flees into the woods, with no more supplies than the clothes he wore (he dressed simply, in drab gray breeches, shirt, a worn cloak the color of moss, and leather boots). He is very timid and careful about his movements and decisions, acting with hesitation often around Akritte.
I will be my wild girl, Akritte, who is blunt and coarse in nature, but very quick, calculating, and intelligent.
I've been working on a short story with this exact plot and characters, to be completely honest, but I think it would be a lot of fun to play it all out and just see where we go on this adventure in the wild I don't know if I have any real... destination I want to reach with this, as in I don't think I know what the main point of this will be, so to speak. It's just for fun, to play around with characters and engage with other people!
I have a few rules, but nothing too big. I prefer in-depth writing - at least one paragraph per response, because simple one-liners aren't really fun to me. Write like you're writing a story, because after all, that's what we're doing! There needs to be proper grammar and spelling (of course, errors are just fine - nobody is perfect!). And of course, I don't want anyone running off with my idea, because my stories and characters are my babies, and it would destroy me if someone were to steal them away, so please be respectful in that sense.
And that's basically it! If you wanna discuss our plot and have ideas for things you want to put in, I'd be more than happy to talk about it! We're working together after all, so your input matters too!
