Hi, my name's Eris, and this is my second OC I'll be using here on RPNation, Bellatax. The above image is a screenshot from Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition of my character wearing Havel's Set with the Fang Boar Helm and two-handing a Black Knight Greatsword.
Bellatax is another OC I hope to adapt into a D&D 5e character. She's a rambunctious troublemaker seeking glory. She often self deprecatingly calls herself "Bellatax the Untitled" for her lack of achievements. Her motiviation in life is to accrue glory, specifically in the form of titles (Such as "Bellatax, Slayer of a Thousand Basilisks" which she has in my game because of how many times I had to go through Darkroot Garden). She's loud, brazen, and always looking for a fight. She starts out the campaing being kind of an overconfident loser, but over time she opens up to her party and begins to gain real confidence and realize that she doesn't really have anything to prove.
Visually Bellatax is usually dressed in medium-heavy armor, and in combat is always wearing her fang boar helm as above. She's a fighter that two-hands a greatsword, and is quick to rush into fights. She's also good at handling animals, and keeps an extensive mental list of the creatures she's bested, and often takes trophies from her most challenging kills and feats.
Personality wise Bellatax is very much a trouble making wildcard. She's always looking for fights, though she never throws the first punch unless they deserve it. She's the kind of person that if you dare her to do something she almost always will. She can never back down from a challenge, no matter the odds, and is always trying to improve herself. She's not particularly charismatic, intelligent, or dexterous, but she's skilled with her blade and is stronger than one would think. She prefers to incapacitate rather than kill, and will brag about even the smallest accomplishments. She does not take orders well, and often blatantly disregards authority. She can be very stubborn, but is able to recognize when others are more capable in certain areas than her, but takes it as a personal insult if anyone claims to be better than her directly. Passively however she's willing to let it slide. When she loses she does so gracefully, at least until her better is out of earshot, at which point she's an incredibly sore loser and will go on impassioned tirades about how unfair the competition was, no matter the actual legitimacy of the event.
Bellatax grew up in a huge family on a farm in the countryside, and she was sort of the runt of the litter. All of her siblings grew up to be great warriors or artisans and she remained at the farm as she hadn't showed much promise in anything. She was a timid child, scared of her own shadow, and struggled to keep up with the tough farm life. But what scared her the most was the legend of The Tarrasque:
In Bellatax's family, The Tarrasque was used as the boogie man, and the stories of this legendary beast haunted her nightmares for her entire childhood. Even the mention of the name would practically send her into hysterics, and she woke up screaming from night terrors more often than not. It wasn't until much later, when she was in her early twenties, that her parents died, leaving the farm to her as she was the only child that stayed on the land. Determined to make her parents proud, her siblings respect her, and to conquer her fears, she sold the land and headed out into the world seeking glory. Seeking to slay The Tarrasque.
