Fantasy (Irritated Mind and FaithWynters)

Kaze looked around, his vision blurry. He remembered laying down in his room to go to bed and then feeling really tired. He had never fallen asleep so fast and now he was waking in an unfamiliar location. The ground seemed to be made of some dark stone and the walls had wallpaper covered in binary codes. To be honest all the zeros and ones were giving him a headache. Walking towards the door, Kaze tried to open it, but the it didn't have a doorknob, instead it was just a plain piece of wood. He tried hitting it and pushing on it, but neither worked.

Giving up on the door he looked around the room, there were two beds and one seemed to be occupied still. Not knowing what was going on the Kaze looked up and saw blue with clouds. Letting his wings come out he flew upward, only to crash into the ceiling hard. "Who paints a ceiling to look like the sky." He yelled forgeting about the other bed.

Slow breaths filled her lungs. It had been another long day. With school and homework, Genevieve was ready to sleep. There were few escapes from her life, and all the pressure that she lived with on a day to day basis could be lifted from her shoulders as she slept. She always looked forward to rolling over in her bed and sleeping. So, she pulled herself into her cool bed, rolled over, and tried to let herself fall into a sleep.

It took less time than normal for her to fall asleep, but it seemed that as soon as she fell into her dreams, she was awakened by someone shouting. She gasped as she cool air brushed against her cheeks. Her eyes were dark as she looked around the room; she wasn’t in her room. She must have been in a dream. Genevieve picked herself up out of the bed; the sheets fell from her small frame. A yawn escaped her lips and she looked around the room. The breeze sent chill bumps through her thin body.

“Where am I?” She didn't see the person that was above her. She just started walking curiously toward the edge of the room to investigate.

Hearing the girl shuffling around in her bed made Kaze realize she had awoken. Looking down he watched her get up and move around asking where she was. "If anyone answers let me know." He spoke, in the air like he was she would be able to hurt him if she panicked. "Wait a minute do I know you from somewhere?" He asked. She looked familiar, but as he scanned his memories, his head started hurting again. "Stupid fake ceiling."

She didn't see him at first. She just heard the voice echo in her ears. She pressed her hand against the wall; there was no give to it. She let out a quiet sigh as she turned and looked up to where she thought that the voice had come from. When she saw the flying creature, it was instinct to hiss quietly. He could have attacked her at any time, but he chose to continue his flight above her.

"There's got to be another way out." She backed up, not daring to turn away from the figure that still flew in the sky. There had to be somewhere to go, but she couldn't tell. She only saw the two beds and the person flying above her.

Landing on the ground, Kaze retracted his wings. "If you are looking for a way out, don't go up. Looks like the sky, but it isn't." Rubbing his head again the boy looked closer at Genevieve. "Do we know each other, you look familiar?" Shaking his head and looking at the door. "I suppose it doesn't really matter, and judging by how you are acting you don't know where we are either." Taking a deep breath Kaze made sure that his emotions stayed in check, he couldn't panic right now.

He landed, and Genevieve took a step back. She couldn't fly, so she was sure that she wouldn't be trying to go up. He rubbed his head and she smiled, a quiet giggle escaping her lips. She looked at his face for a moment as he questioned her. Did he look familiar? Yeah...he did, but where had she seen him?

"I don't know if we know each other." She leaned in slightly, and looked at him a little closer. "I know I've seen you before" She muttered to herself. Then she realized he had said something else. She shook her head and smiled. Nope. She didn't know where she was. "I don't know where we are...Last thing I remember is that I fell asleep." She turned slightly and looked around again. "We need to find a way out of here." She changed, more easily than she had ever changed before. A small kitten could smell out anything. Any scents in the room, she would be able to smell.

Watching the girl in front of him change made his brow rise. "That makes this situation make more sense. Obviously we are here because we aren't normal. The question remains why? Did they gather us for some form of witch hunt? Do you smell anything?" As he waited for a reply Kaze started forming a plan, the door didn't have a knob, but it had hinges, if they were removed then the door could be opened.

She couldn't reply as she sniffed the air. She just assumed this was some strange sort of dream. She could change easily because it was a dream. Never had she been able to transform so easily. Her mind was tired; she could feel that much. Genevieve pulled herself around the room, sniffing for anything that she could; the only scent came from behind the door. She gave a mewl as she stopped beside it. Genna looked up to the larger man before beginning to squeeze herself underneath the door. The space was very small, it was uncomfortable, but she hoped that she could open the door from the other side once she changed back.

Watching the kitten slide under the door ruined the plans Kaze had in his head, but he wasn't really expecting his plan to work anyway. Plus if it couldn't be opened from the other side. (Sorry there isn't more, but I am in a nothing to do but wait situation.)

Tapping his foot the boy sighed as he waited. He wasn't sure if the shifter was going to succeed, but he had to give her a chance.

It took her a moment to squeeze her hips past the non-moving door. Quiet mewls escaped her lips and she closed her eyes as her body finally slid beneath the door. She stretched her body. The room was dark. She could hardly see anything--even with her heightened senses. So, she transformed back quickly and quietly, and reached for the handle; there was luckily one of this side. She gripped the cold metal and turned it. So that was one obstacle over with, but she still wasn't sure what she was here. She opened the door and the light flooded to her vision. She flinched, and folded her arms.

"Do you even know why we're here?"

Kaze shook his head. "Yeah of course I do. I also know the meaning of life if you want me to tell you that." Looking around the dark room, the boy sighed "Look if I knew where we were or why we were here I would have mentioned it when you woke up." Noticing that it was too dark to see anything the boy focused magic energy to his hand causing it to glow with what looked to be a blue flame made from pure energy. No heat radiated from the 'flame', but it did give off a small amount of light.

Looking around the room was rather bare and lead to a second door, this one had a handle on it though and Kaze walked to it. wiggling the handle he realized it was locked. "Any ideas, I doubt you can squeeze under this door?"
