Fantasy-esque things

Here is a clusterfuck of things loosely related by the idea of magic, or fantastical creatures, being prominent in the stories. Other than that, they really have no connections to each other, and I'm not sure how else to introduce it. So, take a gander, read the rules, and if anything interests you, let me know!

Rules:

1. Don't God-Mod. In other words, don't make my character speak, don't make my character, don't make my character take damage, and don't control my character. If you want something to go a certain way for plot purposes, just PM me and ask. Usually, I accept "god-modding" during travel and the like. It is usually acceptable to assume movement if a character is already committed to the journey.

2. Please be able to play both genders, and play multiple roles. Your main character(s) may be just male or just female, but I expect all the side characters and NPCs to have life and flavor, too.

3. On the note of characters: I will always play one female character. So, be aware of that. With that said, I usually also always play one male character, and I do MxM, MxF, and FxF pairings, though I prefer MxF.

4. I only RP on threads, so no PM rps with me. So that I know you’ve read the rules this far, please tell me about your favorite food!

5. Please be able to write more than a couple of sentences as responses to me. I have tried to do “simple” RPs, but I end up not feeling motivated to respond or continue the RP. I will need you to be able to write a paragraph or two, each post, at least.

6. PM if you are interested. The only reason for you not to PM me is if you cannot do so due to the fact you haven't reached 24 hours/10 posts.

Guidelines:

1. I do not like to be hassled for posts. Especially if I have already posted that day or the day before. Do not bother me for posts until at least two days have passed. Otherwise, I will start to resent our RP and lose interest in it.

2. I enjoy OOC talk, however I will not respond to "hi" or "-poke-" or equivalents. Have substance to the chatter, even if it just asking "How are you?".

3. Do not bump our thread if I have not posted. I will not post out of spite. I have a problem with this, I acknowledge it, I'm not fixing it.

4. On that matter, please keep OOC to PMs and not on our IC thread. IC is for posting. If you have a question, concern, or comment, just shoot me a PM.

5. In general, I do not enjoy immediate romances or "slice-of-life" RPs, so do not come to me expecting I'll do either. I may make rare exceptions.

Worlds Collide: "Oh shit I don't belong here". Humans transported to another world. World is in need of saving. Lots of species living together in "peace". Somehow they speak English. Shh.

Humans cross over into a new world through dimensional rifts.

There is a land in a plane parallel to Earth, from which we get many of our ideas about strange creatures we do not find here, like dragons and vampires. It is a world that has been "touched" by our world, and it has touched ours. This interaction is not fully understood, or even known of, by those of this world and those of Earth.

But we still imagine the things that exist in Hyksis, as Hyksis imagines the things that are in our world. Airships came from a dream in the same way our mind imagined lighted houses. The two worlds have gone about creating these things in vastly different fashions, but they have still been inspired by each other. Perhaps most obviously, on Earth, we've imagined the creatures that roam on that other world--the vampire, the centaur, and the siren, among others. We've imagined magic, like they have it.

The barrier between these dimensions is faltering, however. It is a one-way falter, though; those of earth are falling into this other world. A disturbance has occurred there, as a force is trying to bring the two worlds together for a malevolent purpose.

Waltz: Devil May Cry inspired. Humans, demons, and angels, oh my! Legendary (neglectful) relative. Twin-powers activate.

Dancing and Fighting. Rivalry. Siblings. Reaching for the Stars.

Inspired heavily by my recent cosplay of Vergil Sparda and waltzing with Dante Sparda in the rain, I would like to play an original story involving two enemies who are either related, or were long-time friends. I would love to include a dance scene in this if possible, down the line, as a last moment of affection, and to work on having combat be akin to a dance when it comes up as well. Basically, dance metaphors everywhere.

Obviously, we would need to build to that point, and this plot would involve doubling as the main characters (two enemies) wouldn't interact too much except when one or the other goes after them. I like the idea of playing the one that is the power-hungry individual, and I'd like to work out the details of this plot.

I'd prefer this set in "Modern" times, but either a very AU Earth, or a different world entirely. I do like the idea of playing with angels and demons, or other supernatural creatures, for the enemy pairs. Of course, after the DMC thing, I'm partial to having them be part demon and/or angel, and they could possibly have different mothers to make it all the more interesting, so far as their blood is concerned.

I also enjoy the idea of them having legendary parent(s) that they could be in the shadow of--and obviously, both of them work that out in very different ways.

Magical items should be a thing, and magic-by-species, as well.

Victorian Aesthetics: Black Butler inspired. The Queen's guilds. Dirty work, criminals, corrupt nobility. Faustian contract. "Fuck you, I'm above the law".

I love playing with Faustian Contracts.  I want to play with the idea of a Human and a Demon in a contract for revenge. I want to play with the Noble politics of Victorian London, with more than one guilds, with criminals, and the supernatural world just beneath the surface. I want to play with the twists and turns that make getting revenge difficult, and I want the demon to get its just desserts--as in, the Human Soul.

I want to play the Human in particular, but I can play the Demon if we involve other guilds or criminal organizations. Then I think a fun Human and Vampire partnership that could be involved in making the Human and Demon's life hell could be fun. A friendly but antagonistic rivalry, especially if that pairing is more in line with the criminal organizations and an "informant" to the Noble. I have an idea for three guilds, that all work under the Queen, and generally manage all the "dirty work" the public shouldn't know about, and the police barely know about.

I'm up for adapting this without the demon contract part, and working with guilds, criminals, and supernatural creatures in a story that would be more like a weird "Supernatural meets Sherlock Holmes" kind of thing, too!

Hail Dictator: Rome. But not Rome. But really Rome. Maybe Reincarnation?  World Building.

“Alternate Rome”.

You absolutely have to know Roman history for this. You must know what a Triumvirate, Consul, Tribune, and “Final Decree of the Senate” are, as well as how the Senate of Rome worked in general. I want to use a lot of these rules, in basically creating an RP that follows a similar story to Caesar and the aftermath.

I am happy to set this up as the various Romans have been reincarnated in a modified world or country that is more or less following the Roman senate design, or just playing in a modified country that we would base off of Rome. The latter allows us freedom to create pantheons of deities and the rules, and many other things, while we fill the roles of the "Major Players".

The Major Players I see as: Julius Caesar, Gaius Octavius, Markus Antonius, Aemilius Lepidus, Markus Cicero, Cleopatra, Markus Agrippa, Maecenas, Brutus, and Cassius. Or: "The Dictator", "The Heir", "The General", "The Pontifex", "The Orator", "The Foreign Ruler", "The Bro", "The Patron", "The Tyrant Killer", and "Worse Traitor".

Things do not need to go the same way, with the Heir becoming an Emperor, but we would have similar roles. If you know a lot about Rome, if the idea of creating religions and nations intrigues you, and if you enjoy politicking and backstabbing—hit me up.

Hello, I'm curious about the Victorian aesthetics plot and how much you were planning to incorporate Black Butler concepts into the rp?
(I came here from the other threads link and I like cheese and dark chocolate)
