In the year 2070 China and America were the two major world powers. The microchip was never discovered but instead the world delved into the power of the atom. Wars were fought between these two super powers over land and resources in a time called the Resource Wars. During these times a company called Vault-Tec created 110 vaults across America. These vaults were able to sustain themselves indefinetly and were impervious to nuclear radiation, conventional explosives and just about anything that could be thrown at them but each could only hold 1000 citizens. The first 10 Vaults were government only and hidden across America. The rest were for civilians if they were needed. In 2079 they were. After tensions ran high and America annexed Canada, China and it's allies fired every nuclear weapon they had at America and its allies. America its allies did the same thing and no one knows who shot first. The result was the death of nearly all suface life on the planet minus those who lived in the vaults. These vaults were to stay sealed until the world was habitable agian but it turns out each of the vaults was a cruel social experiement. Some opened 100 years early and some never opened at all. Some never fully closed and let all its residents become irradiated and still others were worse. After 100 years of this America had changed. The remaining wildlife had mutated radically, humans who tried to live up on the surface were either barly surviving or became mutated from the radiation. Even worse was the Enclave, what was left of the American Government, released the Forced Evolutionary Virus, or FEV for short, in hopes to mutate the population in a helpful way but ended turning hundreds of humans into an army of enraged, violent, and stupid brutes who were 10 feet tall or more and as strong as an ape. You are a resident of vault of vault 101 just outside of Washington DC. This vault was relativly normal except it opened 180 years after the world was plunged into a hell of nuclear fire. You must survive in this new world of monsters and humans worse than monsters, who will you be and what will you do in The Wasteland to change it for the better or for the worse?
