Falling Stars (closed)

And the pair looked at each other, talking with their eyes, before Eddy reached over to the contract, scratching his obnoxious signature on it like it were an autograph. That left Andy to fold his hands on the desk and say: "There is one small thing. One of the outings needs to be...very public. Since the AMAs are coming up, we need to to go along."

Eddy had a hard time containing the cringe. It was in Andy's nature to tack things on in the end, and while it was both of their ideas, it was more Andy's than Eddy's, just because it was easy for them to cement everything.

"That will be the last thing you do, and after that, it'll just...be like a break-Uppy sort of thing. And from then on we'll continue to supply Filter first hand with information for the duration of your employment there. Figure you'll get a lot more out of this than we will."

Eddy lifted his head as Andy quit talking, passing back the contract that was quickly shuffled back into the Manila envelope. As they waited for Lilli's reaction, Andy defaulted to his hands clasped, all his teeth showing in a smile.

"Thank you for this, Lilly," he said, and reached out for her hand, squeezing it. Personal space wasn't much a thing for him...no one gave him any. "You have no idea how much this helps."

"You want me to go to the AMAs?" She question a bit dumb founded. She expected that all she'd have to do was walk down the street maybe go to a few stores or some other place that couples often went together. She hadn't expected something as big as the AMA's. Wouldn't he rather have another celebrity or model on his arm instead of her?

Despite that she might be able to make it work to her advantage. If she was going to be there anyway then maybe her magazine would just let her cover the awards. So maybe it wouldn't be all bad. Besides she had never been to something like the AMA's before.

"Shouldn't we talk about the break up thing. I mean we should probably have a story ready, just in case someone asks us after so we don't say diffrent things" She suggested. If they were going to do this she wanted to do it right. Nothing would be worse than going through all this trouble only for someone to figure out it was all fake

"Oh, well you're welcome" She said with a pleasant smile as she glanced at their hands with a slight blush . She supposed she'd have to get used to things like this but usually the personal bubble she kept around herself was much larger. She really wasn't used to people just touching her or grabbing her hand whenever.

"She's got a point, Ed," said Andy, and he looked over to Lilly with less of a smile, but more of an interested look. It was things they clearly should have discussed, Her putting all the little details in though, it made the cogs in Andy's head turn. This girl was quiet, probably lackluster at a job (why else demand to have privilege to the articles?) but she probably had more to offer than she let on. "What do you wanna do about that?"

Eddy shrugged and tried to think of something good. "Well, I mean, it isn't like we really need something too serious, is it? I mean, I could just be like Taylor Swift and write a song about it." Eddy laughed. All the while, Andy was shaking his head and rolling his eyes. As usual, the singer wasn't taking anything seriously, even though he was the one that was coming into the office practically on his knees and begging for his manager to do something about the predicament that he had gotten himself in.

"I was thinking just something...low key. Maybe you two got into an argument about...I don't know. What do you think would be something good to argue about Lilly? Since you bring it up? What would you think you would get in a bad argument with this man about that you would hypothetically break up with him." Andy was talking with his hands, throwing them between Lilly and Eddy. And though he implied everything was hypothetical, he was staring at this two and wondering how something 'wouldn't' happen between them.

Lilly couldn't help but smile when his manager agreed with her. She might not have looked like it but she was actually pretty intelligent. She just didn't always say what she was thinking whether it be that her overwhelming shyness was getting in the way or because she doubted what she had to say was useful. However when she finally did decide to speak up it was nice to be recognized and have her ideas validated.

She turned her attention to Eddy once he was asked what he wanted to do about the whole break up situation. This was his thing after all it was probably best if she let him decide how he wanted it to go and she would go along with it. She was already getting what she wanted out of it so this part was all him. But when he suggested he write a breakup song about it she couldn't fight frown the pulled at the corner of her lips. She didn't exactly want to be known as the girl Eddy Bronson broke up with and then wrote a song about it. Luckily Andy didn't seem to be sold on the idea either and shot it down pretty quickly.

She was not prepared for him to them pose the same question to her, wanting to know if this had been a real relationship what might cause them to break up. Or more specifically what would cause her to break up with him. "Well.." She began casting an unsure glance towards Eddy not really wanting to throw him under the bus. "Hypothetically if this were a real relationship I think the fact that one of us if a celebrity and the other isn't is always going to get in the way. I mean even if the tabloids think we're dating they'll probably always be trying to 'catch' you with someone else, probably someone famous, even if it isn't true because that's what sells. I also think that the non-celebrity in this situation is always going to struggle with wondering if they're good enough for the other person.." She finished her gaze now on the table rather on either of the men in the room.

Before anything flung out of his mouth, Eddy put his hand up over it to make it seem like he was thinking, eyes on the holes in his jeans, wondering if she had any inclination of what was actually going on. What would happen if Lilly found out about him and Sasha? It wasn't exactly as private as it could have been, though one of his missions in fame was to actually keep himself private. Too many people had their lives destroyed. "I mean we could always sell a fake story to...I don't know E!," Eddy mentioned, almost inaudible behind his hand. Dropping it, rubbing clammy palms over his knees, he finally looked up. "Probably stay closer to to her having struggles dealing with fame. It wouldn't be hard...and then I'll take fault. She can call me like....a douchebag or an insensitive asshole if she wants."

Lillu didn't seem the type to throw around insults, but if that would work, than she was more than welcome to. "Probably wouldn't be a bad idea for her to. We want it to be even though, that way no one targets either of you. You're both at fault, and you then you both can just....let it slide around until no one cares anymore."

Even as Lilly wasn't looking to them, Eddy was staring at her and smiling. The more he looked at her, the more he enjoyed actually looking at her. She was real. Real skin, real hair, real eyes. Everything about her was genuine, down to her little smile and the small in her voice. That was the trouble with models and actresses. All fake. Everything was built onto them. If they had the bone structure to support a whole new body, it was built. Touching plastic wasn't the same as running fingers across soft skin.

"Sounds like you two are in agreement. We may reconsider selling to E!, but pretty much seems like you two are on the same page. Good. Anymore questions?" Andy asked, poised at Lilly. As he asked, a Muddy Waters tune began playing from Eddy's pocket, and the singer stood up and pulled it out, groaning. Andy mimicked it as Eddy left the room without much warning. "I think you two might legitimately get into an argument, dear. But that's just me."

"I don't want to do that" She said suddenly looking up towards Eddy as she pushed a few strands of blonde hair behind her ear. "I'd rather we just say it didn't work out and we mutually decided to separate. I don't want it to become some sort of name calling contest." She explained. She didn't want to damage his reputation in anyway and she also didn't want to be seen as the type of person to throw a fit when a relationship ended. And even if people might have deserved it she wasn't one to call names, especially not publicly .

"Other than that, I think we're agreed. We'll just say the whole fame thing got in the way" She confirmed just to make sure they were all on the same page like they seemed to be. She looked between Eddy and his manager to confirm but when she noticed the stupid smile on Eddy's face her gaze paused on him, an eyebrow raised as she wondered why he was looking at her like that. Had she said something stupid? Was there something on her face? Seriously what was he staring at? It was making her feel weird so she decided to direct her attention toward Andy instead while she idly played with the ends of her hair, untangling it and letting it fall down her back for lack of anything else to do.

"I don't think-" She was cut off by the the phone ringing so she stopped to look over towards Eddy who obviously didn't seem happy to talk to whoever it was that was calling him. She then just sort of watched wide-eyed as he walked out without any explanation or warning

"Hm? I don't think there's any reason for us to argue. Like we agreed this is just business. All the terms have been settled, there's nothing for us to argue about" She said fully believing it. All they had to do was get a few pictures taken and it would be over with before they even had time to blink. What could they possibly argue about in that time?

"Well, not argue per se," Andy said, beginning to correct himself. He was scribbling something on a notepad and ripping it out as he stood. "I think you'll just slowly get irritated with him. He's polite, just a big manchild about things. Five bucks says he's out three beating his head against the wall while talking."

And as he made that assumption, he handed Lilly the piece of paper, knowing that it was likely to come in handy. "This is his personal cell, don't call a lot. You can imagine why."

Though, with how Lilly seemed as person, quiet but well mannered, he imagined they would get along just fine. And conversation would happen naturally, whether they planned it or not. Andy hoped.

Walking over to the door and opening it, he showed where Eddy, although not banging his head, did have his forehead pressed against the wall and was speaking quietly.

Lilly gave a thoughtful nod. Perhaps he had a point. She didn't really know Eddy all that well but she could see how he could be a bit immature at times but it was nothing she couldn't handle. Even if she did get irritated at times she would get over it, and like she had previously stated this was only going to be a short term thing. It was not worth getting too worried about.

"Yeah I get it, thank you though" She said taking the piece of paper from him. She gave it a quick glance and then folded it up and stuck it in her bag. She would be sure to program the number into her phone later but right now it seemed like it was her cue to leave. "I guess we'll work out when to have a first outing later?" She questioned as she stood gathering her things and walking towards the door.

"I should probably get going then, thanks again." She said to Andy as she reached the door. She shot a look to where Eddy was talking to someone in hushed tones. She thought about telling him goodbye as well but she decided it was best if she left him alone since the conversation he was having seemed important. So she just quietly slipped passed him and made her way out.

Through Eddy had planned it to be about two weeks before he called on Lilly, he realised that it was going to have to be sooner than that.

Sasha was in his ear about all the trouble that they were generating, because now t seemed like more than just The National Enquierer that was on their case. Things people tended to believe we're showing up, mainly from an encounter on the beach where they were laying side by side, her in a bikini, him still comfortable in gym clothes. It seemed like nothing, but a picture was worth a thousand words. Barely two days after, he called Lilly and told her that they should go to the Santa Monica Pier.

This time, he wasn't late. Eddy leaned against the railing and stared down to look as water crashed into the coast, turning into foam bubbles as it flushed back. Children chasing the ebb and flow, back and forth, with a fury of laughter erupting each time.

He wondered what she looked like, today. Just the little ways she played with her hair, and her soft eyes looking around. Hopefully something as cute as the first time that she bumped into him.

It never occurred to Eddy just how crazy all of this was. Life hadn't been the same for years now--assistants, cameras, managers, commercials, talk shows, concert after concert eating bad take out and getting little sleep. This was maybe the most normal. In a way.

During the time that passed since signing their contract Lilly just went about her life as usual. She had exchanged a few text with Eddy just to make sure she had the right number and that he also had hers but that had been it. It wasn't until just the other day that he had said anything about wanting to meet up. Of course she had seen the articles about him and Sasha floating around but she didn't take them to seriously. If the press could make her out to be some secret love interest then they could do the same thing to some other poor girl. But still she couldn't help but wonder if she had something to do with all of this and why he needed her to pose as his girlfriend. She had thought about asking about it but she eventually decided that it was none of her business. She would do as asked and that was it

Luckily he had caught her on her day off and she was easily able to make time to meet him at the Pier and with the weather so nice it would be great to get out and just enjoy the sun. She regretted not being able to do things like that more often. It was beginning to look like this wasn't going to be all bad after all.

She got the the pier just a minute or two late as it had taken her a little longer than she initially expected to finally be satisfied with her appearance. She wasn't sure what it was but nothing had seemed to look right when she put it on that morning. She might have just been being hyper critical since she knew she was going to be photographed at least that was what she told herself.

"Hey, sorry I'm late" she said as she approached Eddy where he leaned over a railing. The skirt of her polka dotted sun dress, she had finally settled on, danced in the wind. Her hair was pulled up into a bun on the top of her head in order to keep it out of her face, and underneath her dress she was wearing a swimsuit just in case because she wasn't exactly sure what he had planned. But now that she thought about it she realized she might have been treating this to much like an actual date. They were just supposed to walk around a little and have some pictures taken there was no elaborately planned day or anything like that.

Though Eddy hadn't called anyone out, they always found their way to him. That, or Andy was pulling strings in the shadows, trying something to get this crazy scheme of their's to work.

Turning over at the sound of her voice, Eddy pulled up the sunglasses and set them atop his head. He'd managed to braid the mess of curly hair and coil it into a bun, keeping most of it out of his face. "Nah, you're fine. I'm usually the late one anyways." He waved off what she said, not too concerned. "So...wanna just stroll down the pier or go on the beach?"

Unlike with Sasha, he was prepared to go in the water. With red, flower designed trunks on as pants, a plain Nike tank top, and sandals, it seemed like he had his mind made up, but that was just him.

It dawned on him that he knew little about her, and that the chance of him finding out something was very small, if she chose to be quiet the whole time. "And um...didn't mean to freak you over with the phone thing at the office. I've been sorta...stressed lately."

Why he felt the need to apologise, be polite, consider his acfions, he didn't know. And he wasn't going to care so long as it kept her happy.

Rubbing her arm with her hand, Lilly tried to offer the best smile she could. "Alright I guess we could go on the beach now and then walk down the pier later if we still have time to kill?" She suggested. If there was any chance they were going in the water she'd rather just do it now while it it was warmest instead of waiting till later when it would be cooling down. Besides the pier was always better at night anyway. She loved how it looked with all the rides lit up and people walking around all laughing or smiling. Sure there would be people there now but it just wasn't the same.

"Lets go" She said turning on her heels to walk down towards the beach. She took a few steps then paused to make sure he was coming before she continued on weaving a path in and out of people, slowly bringing them closer to the water.

"Huh? You didn't freak me out. It's fine. I know you probably have a lot to deal with . So it's cool, do what you have to do." She assured him. Honestly she didn't care all that much. She had almost forgotten all about it, if he hadn't brought it up she would have. If anything, it had just surprised her a little since he left so quickly. He didn't owe her any sort of apology or explanation though.

"You really don't have to worry about me that much, you know. I'll do whatever you need me to do and if there's a problem I'll let you know." she explained turning to face him as they finally reached the beach.

Following shortly behind, his hands jammed in his pockets, the singer looked around at the mess of people who walked on by, the sounds of foreign language abundant in the tourist destination.

When she stopped, and let him know that all was well, it made it easier to smile. "Guess I don't have to worry too much then. I don't expect a lot...need a lot. This'll work itself."

Where Lilly stopped, Eddy kept going, making a beeline for the coast and avoiding the mess of children and teenagers who were jutting around. The warm sun on his shoulders, salty-aired wind at his back; this was a good idea. "Since we're going to be walking around here...why don't you tell me a bit about yourself. Maybe play quid pro quo? You ask me something, I ask you something?" It seemed cheesy, but they could keep it even that way.

"Good, then this should be fine" She said with a nod, happy they seemed to be in agreement. There was no need to make things more complicated than it needed to be. It was best if they made things easy by not putting too many expectations on each other.

While he kept going she dropped her beach bag down on the sand and kicked off her shoes to make sure they didn't get wet. She then went hurrying to catch up as he kept walking towards the water. "So like a 20 questions type thing, except for we're not limiting it to 20?" she asked with a bit of an amused look. It reminded her of something she'd do in high school when everyone was still just getting the hang of the whole dating things and getting to know people was awkward. Who was she kidding? It still was awkward, and she still hadn't quite got a hang of the whole dating thing, but luckily this wasn't a real date.

"I guess we could do that. I do have to warn you though. I'm much less interesting than you think I am." She laughed softly as they finally came close enough to the water that the waves coming in were just able to touch her feet. "So what do you want to know?"

As Lilly set up a spot for them to settle back down once they were finished with the water, Eddy stood in the tide, water kicking against his shins, going between his toes. The water was barely warm, refreshing.

"Yeah, I guess something like that," said Eddy, turning back to watch as she approached the water slowly, barely getting to the edge of it. Even as he stayed out in California so often, he never got used to it. Everything was home in the Midwest. The sounds of seagulls, the road of he ocean. "I'm sure you've had your charge of an interesting life...we all got something to talk about..."

And he pondered what he wanted to know, looking at her as the breeze took up her drees and the water flowed away with the foam. "Where are you from? Here or somewhere else?"

Lilly just stood back while he moved farther into the water letting it creep up his leg while she stayed where it could only touch her feet. She had never been much of a swimmer ever since she was little, and it always to her ages to finally work up the courage to go in far enough for the water to reach past her legs. It also didn't help that the water was so cold, as the ocean always was. Eddy however did not seem to have that problem.

"Well it certainly isn't going to be as interesting as your life.." She laughed. She was never going to be able to sell books by telling her life story. He on the other hand might be able to- Scratch that he definitely could if he ever so desired.

She was watching the water rush out from under her feet, pulling the sand with it when she heared his question and she looked up. "I grew up on the east coast, I moved here after high school. What about you where are you from?"

Never understanding how people thought themselves to be uninteresting, having this little game to learn each other was definitely a good thing for him, but also a good thing for her maybe to realise she wasn't as plain as she seemed.

There had been plenty of people he'd wrote songs about that, in spite of their very simple nature, were a challenge upon himself to find figures in history people simply didn't know about and make them prominent in song-verse. Then again, it may have been surprising to Lilly that he liked history--liked it to the point that he sat around watching the Hostory Channel eating Cheetos with all too common of a regularity.

"Michigan. One of those nice suburbs around Detroit where all the kids thought they were gangster because they lived by it...wannabes," he chuckled, and knelt down, running his hands through the water.

"Sound delightful." She said sarcastically but then had a thought. "Were you one of those kids?" She asked giving him a funny look as she imagined him much younger as a wannabe gangster. A bandanna tied around his head, maybe a few comically sized chains hanging around his little neck. The image she'd come up with was so completely ridiculous she couldn't keep from chuckling quietly to herself.

"Anyway it's your turn to ask another question" She reminded him and dared to wade a bit further into the water but before she could get too far she grabbed the bottom of her black and white spotted dress and pulled it off and threw it back on the sand towards where she had left the rest of her things. That way she'd have something dry to wear later on.

Without the dress to cover her, she was left standing in just her bathing suit which consisted of a peach colored sweetheart top,and matching bottoms that had a single ruffle going around them to form a tiny skirt. Feeling slightly vulnerable she instinctively wrapped her arms around her midsection in a feeble attempt to cover herself up as she got far enough in the water that when the waves came it it was just barely able to touch her knees.

Flashing a sideways peace sign, snickering at the idea, before he could reply, she stopped him. This was a game. If she wanted to know, then that would have to be her next question.

Though, the words completely flung from him mind, and Eddy lost his balance, falling into the sand and letting water drag him up further into the beach. The sunglasses fell onto his nose.

Should he comment on her bathing suit? It complimented her well, just like the pink shirt had before. Like a little frilly cupcake. Good enough to eat. "Don't be shy. You won't get a tan that way," he chided, though the wind just off the ocean was a little brisk as it came in with the waves.

Attempting to brush off his blunder and pick up himself, the singer walked over and set his sandals by where her dress landed, and then joined back by her. "What's your favourite movie?" He asked, and he wanted to ask about music, be a jackass, but then maybe this wouldn't go as well.

Watching him fall quite ungracefully on his butt, Lilly tried her best to hide the giggles she let out by bringing a hand up to her mouth in an attempt to stifle them. Had she done that? Surely she couldn't have. He must have just lost his balance, a wave knocked him over, something..

"Who said I was trying to get a tan. Maybe I like being pale and pasty" She shot back sticking her head up dramatically for a moment or two. She then relaxed to a more natural position with an amused look. This was actual turning out to be more enjoyable than she thought it would be so far they hadn't been ambushed by cameras once, and after a few more minutes she was able to finally let her arms fall to her side.

"Hm my favorite movie? That's a tough one" She said thoughtfully. In truth she had watched a lot of movies and it was hard to just choose one as her all time favorite. For a few minutes she was silent as she thought about it, her brows scrunching up a bit in concentrations. "Well I suppose at the moment I'd say my favorite movie is The Atonement , but don't hold me to it because it's liable to change"

She then set about trying to think about a good question for him while she kicked the water around a little, accidentally splashing him, "What's it like being famous, I mean besides being stalked by people with cameras all the time?"

Lilly's splashing didn't go unnoticed, and Eddy held his arm up in front of his face, though it did little to actually protect where she splashed him. That was mostly minor, especially as he listened to her. Yeah, that was probably how most people were with movies. "I promise I won't," he mentioned, and laughed a little bit. He hadn't seen Atonement, but knew that Sasha liked it. Then again, he wasn't much for movies in general--they were just a basic form of entertainment. If they asked him to be in one, that would be a different story.

All of this was nice. Standing in the sun, the ocean at their feet, and the lack of clicks and whirring of a camera close to his ear. Then again, they were probably getting shots off the pier, or standing far at a distance looking as nondescript as they could. It wasn't always people standing in the bushes or rushing in his face.

Her question, all the more, made him think of this. Fame was hard to explain. "Its...mostly like life, you know?" he began. "Except, its sort of like life with the bathroom door always open. Doesn't matter what you're doing in the bathroom, because everyone can see. But, I mean, it's got its perks. You want something, wanna go somewhere, wanna experience something. Any person will practically let you do it for free just so they can say that they had a famous person do it."

It wasn't the best explanation Eddy had, but it was the only way he could figure it. An open bathroom door. And he laughed at his own analogy. It probably sounded like the stupidest thing she'd ever heard. "What's your big dreams in life?"

"Oh sorry" She said after noticing him flinch in response to her accidentally flinging water at him. She then stopped playing with the water in order to keep from doing it again. Instead she shifted her weight from foot to the other for need of something to do other than stay still.

When he then went on to try and explain fame to her, saying it was just like life, her nose crinkled up and she gave a skeptical look. "No, I don't think I know" She wouldn 't know the first thing about being famous and she seriously doubted it was just like regular life but she let him go on. Her expression progressively changing to one of amusement as she tried to wrap her head around the analogy he was giving her.

"Well that's certainly an..interesting way to explain it but I think I get it." He made it sound like most of the bad things about being famous out weighed the good. She would have thought that it would be the otherway around. "Also what's the point of giving you so much free stuff when you're one of the only people that could probably afford all that stuff- No offense.." Was that rude? Maybe she shouldn't have said that.

She was just glad when the subject changed, not that his next question was the easiest thing to answer though. "I'm not really sure what my biggest dream in life is" She admitted. "I mean I guess I just want to be happy. You know have a nice house, maybe a family someday. I'd also like to have my own column or something. God I sound like such a loser. Sorry they might not be a grand as you were expecting"

"Anyway what about you? Would you say you've achieved what you want in life?" She said putting the focus back on him in order to get it off of herself.

Even though Lilly had stopped, planting herself in the water like she had somehow insulted him. Hands clenched for a second, not wanting people to act any way around him, splashed her back, just enough to get her on the legs. Yeah, of course she really wouldn't get it, especially as she let out the question that--for now--he was going to let go because he understood what she meant. "If you buy something, or well, maybe not you, but if someone wants to buy something, it makes them more comfortable to know a celebrity uses it. So...if they give it to us for free and we use it, and we like it, they just...I dunno, use that in ads and stuff. Makes it easier on them, and then we get random freebies."

Turning around and giving her a smirk, Eddy plopped himself down in the water and enjoyed the coolness on his legs. Somewhere along the way, he felt like a little kid that got to go to the beach for the first time. Sometimes, that was nice, that was all he needed. "That's totally not a bad thing to want....that's what everyone wants. Be happy, have a fulfilling life. And I'm sure you're an awesome writer, otherwise Filter wouldn't have hired you, would they?"

Even though Eddy didn't know that for sure, he wanted to make her happy. Wanted her to smile and come out of her shell. At least as he could hear in the distance what he thought were camera clicks. Nothing right on top of them, but taking them at an angle. It was perfect of Andy to do that.

"I...dunno. I mean, I think everyone thinks I have. Because people know your name, enjoy your talent. I'm happy to be doing what I love but....I think I'm kinda too young to have fulfilled my dreams. I don't know what my dreams are. Kinda...floating through life with no real course."

Lilly pretended not to notice him splash her but a few seconds later she splashed him back then looked around like she hadn't done anything. The only giveaway was the small smile on her lips that she couldn't seem to hide.

She then nodded as he explained the logic behind giving celebrities so much free stuff all the time. "Yeah I guess that makes sense." She agreed even though she wasn't really one to buy something just because she thought someone famous used it. Although she did know there were people out there that were like that, if there weren't they wouldn't do it.

"Well Filter only really hired me as an intern, just someone to go on coffee runs and give reminders and stuff like that, not to write" She explained glancing down at him now plopped down in the water. "I like to think I'm a decent writer though." She then added not long after. She was pretty confident in her writing skills she just hadn't had much of a chance to show them off and get confirmation that she was as good as she thought she was.

While they talked waves continued to come in crashing against her shins a few strong ones just nearly were able to knock her off her feet but she managed to stay standing."Well what did you want to be when you were little? Did you ever think you'd be where you are now?" She questioned wondering if he'd been working up to this or if he had somehow just fallen into it. "Anyway it's not too late for you to figure out what you want. I mean I still don't really know for sure what I want either."

At first, Eddy tried to splash her back where they had, apparently, initiated a small splash war. But as the water kicked her back, and also dragged a small handful of sand down his trunks, the singer grabbed onto Lilly's leg, somewhere between the calf and knee, grasping to keep her steady where she still stood. Once two or three seconds passed, he pulled away, thinking little of it.

"My dad told me, once, of course he says he didn't it's my imagination, that if you're good at something, that's what you were meant to do." He shrugged to himself, not sure if it was words to live by. "I'm not good at anything else. Been fired from every other job I've had."

Letting that go, knowing it probably showed him as a no-good, lazy slacker. He smiled for a moment before looking to the foamy water.

"I think I wanted to work on cars like dad, since he was about all I had to go by. But....nah, never thought someone like me would be interesting enough to be anything. Luck. All it was....so, tell me about you family. Who you have back home?" He asked, quick to change the subject.
