She smiled. "I'm 19." She said nodding. "That would be your age, plus 10." She said grinning, a bit more maliciously than a regular smile, but she meant well.ThatOneCrazyPerson said:Reed grinned, then held up both hands, with one of his thumbs down. "I'm nine! Almost ten in a year." He beamed proudly again. "And ten with another ten is twenty! And that's a grown-up! So I'm almost a grown-up."
His smile faded a little to curiosity as he looked at her. "How old are you? You don't look like a grown up."
Malevolence chuckled.ThatOneCrazyPerson said:"Oh," Reed nodded. "You're almost a grown up." His smile wavered a little as she smiled, but then he grinned. Okay, so it was still a little scary, but a smile was a smile, after all. That meant she was happy! Maybe.
"Hey," he said, realizing something, "you're not a stranger right? Or a wolf? Cause both of those are bad. Especially together. Mom said so, and she's pretty smart. Usually. Sometimes." He shrugged.
She grinned and shook his small hand.ThatOneCrazyPerson said:"Oh," Reed nodded seriously, before jumping back, surprised. "Whoa!" he gasped, and admired her wings, mouth open in awe. "I've never met a fairy before!" he admitted. "But I always heard they were nice. Usually. Sometimes."
He tilted his head a little and smiled. "You're nice," he declared. "And to not be strangers..." He extended his tiny childish hand and held it out towards her. "My name's Reed." He grinned at her, expectantly waiting for her response.
