Magnolia has been a symbol of power for many, many years. Its strong guilds are a show of the town's experience with magic, the most notable one being Fairy Tail. The members of this guild never get tired of the lives they live, because nearly every day, they blow something up and destroy some evil by doing so. Not to mention the fact that everyone is counted as family, and no one is ever left out of the circle.
Well, it used to be like that... until a great, ominous, flying structure appeared out of nowhere and brought great destruction upon, well, everyone. Buildings were flung into one another, people burned up where they stood. The ground cracked and some chunks the size of meteors floated into the air. Nearly everyone living in the town was killed. The flying structure finally left the city, leaving most of it in pieces.
[What remained of] Fairy Tail was furious. They followed the evil force for years, attacking it with all their might, while anyone who wasn't strong enough stayed and helped the townspeople to live. What those who stayed didn't know was that a second being would come and take their lives.
This force was nothing like the last one. It looked was horrifyingly human looking, wearing something like a white suit with golden wings of fabric ten times its size lagging behind it. The creature was flying, and even more odd, it was surrounded by a galaxy shaped aura that was big enough to engulf half a city. As it hovered over and awed the remaining people, they just dropped dead. There was no explanation for it.
After destroying the first being, the guild members came back to find their loved ones dead, but without any knowledge, all they could do was grieve and wait...
It's been ten years since what they call the "Ragnarok". Magnolia's gained a lot of support from the rest of Fiore and has been mostly rebuilt. People have even started moving here.
But don't think the worst is behind the town. As long as there's grief, there will be mercy, and that second force will end sadness once and for all.
