Face Claim Vs Appearance?

So maybe it's because I've only been here for a month but every once in a while I come across a CS that has Face Claim AND Appearance on it. What really is the difference?


And on Face Claim;


Do you have to use a celebrity's face?


And when both things are considered different categories what would you do?


(I would just look at other Completed CS's but I've yet to see one completed, is this a new word or just a not known well term by newbs like me?)

Feel free to ask the ST what s/he means by face claim. Appearance is usually what a character looks like and a picture, usually found on a google image search, is the picture for that character. A celebrity isn't usually necessary but people often times have a celebrity in mind for their character when making the character sheet.


In other RPs you will find that some people don't have a picture for their characters.

They are not on right now, so I posted here...


For now I will put a pictured Appearance for Face Claim and a written appearance for Appearance and see where that goes. I'll update how it went.

Face claim is a pretty common term, actually. It usually just does refer to an image of the character, and not necessarily a celebrity. Although, a lot of people like to use celebrities for one reason or another (they had them in mind, they like their face, it suits the character, there's a lot of picture, etc) like Xylin said.


If there's an appearance and face claim section, I'm pretty sure having the image in the face claim section and having a written description in the appearance section is what the gm wants. Even if it's not and all three of us are wrong, I'm sure most people won't be too mad if you make a mistake.

Thank you both. I just personally never heard of Face Claim and then Xylin didn't explain if "Face Claim" was a thing or not. xD
