General Plot:

• Childhood friends. Loner/Outcast x Popular/Jock. Enemies to Lovers.​
• Devon and Lily were friends as kids but had a falling out during their school years.​
  • He joined the soccer team, got fit and made a lot of 'popular' friends.​
  • He tried to include her with his new friends, but she didn't enjoy it.​
  • One of his popular friends told her to leave him alone, that she didn't fit with him anymore.​
• They graduated high school and ended up at the same college.​
• He still plays soccer and she started dating.​
  • Her partner hates Devon.​
• When Lily and her partner breakup it is not a clean break.​
• To get back at her ex, Lily asks Devon for a favor.​
  • She wants to pretend to be dating.​

Physical description: Lily is petite with a heart-shaped face framed by waves of blonde hair that cascade down her back. Her eyes, a striking shade of blue, sparkle with curiosity, and her smile, framed by dimples, radiates warmth however tends to not smile much or rarely. With a delicate complexion and a graceful posture, she moves with a quiet confidence that captivates those around her.

Personality: Lily's personality carries an air of intensity, often veering towards aggression and aloofness. She approaches life with a determined focus, unafraid to speak her mind even if it means being blunt or confrontational. Behind her cold exterior lies a fiercely independent spirit, unwilling to compromise her principles or bend to societal norms. Interactions with Lily can be challenging, as she tends to keep others at arm's length, her walls built high to protect her vulnerabilities. While she may come across as distant, those who take the time to understand her will discover a fiercely loyal friend who values honesty above all else. Beneath her tough exterior, there's a vulnerability that she guards fiercely, wary of letting others too close for fear of being hurt.

Background: Lily's upbringing was marked by the constant clash of her parents' tumultuous relationship, which cast a shadow over her formative years. Born into a household fraught with tension and discord, she learned early on to navigate the minefield of their arguments, often retreating into herself to escape the chaos that unfolded within the walls of her home.

From a young age, Lily found solace in solitude, seeking refuge in the quiet corners of her own imagination. Her parents' constant bickering and inability to communicate effectively left her feeling isolated and misunderstood, longing for a sense of stability and belonging that always seemed just out of reach.

As the years passed, Lily became increasingly adept at erecting emotional barriers, shielding herself from the turmoil that surrounded her. She learned to mask her inner turmoil behind a façade of stoicism and indifference, burying her emotions deep within in an effort to avoid the pain of disappointment and rejection.

Devon has been playing soccer since he was in middle school and it shows in his build. He's just under six foot with a slimmer build, long legs, and toned muscles. He has the same dark black hair as his mother that shines navy in certain lights and a narrow face. He keeps his hair just above his shoulders - he likes styling his hair and only wears it completely tied back for games. His eyes are are dark hazel that he thinks just looks brown most of the time but others claim to see greens and golds as well. While he has prescription glasses, he almost always wears contacts or squints. Devon mostly wears layers and almost always has long sleeves on even when others think it's too hot.

Devon is as optimistic - almost naïve - as they come, always believing the best of people and situations, making the most out of the little he has. His confidence in himself, in the best of people can come off as arrogant and at times even reckless. He's not exactly a loud person, but he's very friendly, flirty, and enjoys talking to people. He's always up for trying new things and ultimately just wants to be included as he doesn't like being alone.

• Devon grew up with a single mother with the aid and support of his grandparents. As such he's very close to his grandparents.
• His mother worked in order to support him, even going back to collage at night to get a better career. Ultimately, though, this meant that his grandparents were the ones physically there for him as he grew up. They came to his school plays when his mother had a shift, they helped him with his homework when his mother had class. Despite this absence, Devon loves his mother and now that he's older understands the sacrifices she made for him a bet better.
• Devon had been an awkward child, but friendly and so when he joined soccer in middle school, his popularity soared. He was making new friends left and right and really couldn't have been happier to be included.
• When Devon was in high school his mother meet a man through her new job. It wasn't long before they got engaged and bought a house. The relationship and move had been sudden to Devon, but more importantly the move was in the middle of the school year. Originally, Devon was going to move in with his mother and her fiancé but Devon didn't want to change schools in the middle of year, didn't want to leave his grandparents so abruptly, and didn't want to live with a man he didn't really know. So he stayed with his grandparents when his mother moved. After that, it just never seemed like the right time to move in with them. Devon was busy with soccer and friends. His mother was busy starting a new career and a new family. And then before any of them knew it, Devon graduated high school and his mother was redecorating the room that was originally set aside for him into a nursery.
• He started college with an undeclared major in order to continue playing soccer.
