Other Explain RpNation to me like I'm five (metaphorically)

So basically...

I joined this like, half an hour ago. The only other forum I've ever used is Reddit, and I used to RP on Google+. What I am asking of you guys is to give me a simple explanation on how to RP here, without using all of the intricacies of the rules pages.

Thanks!

(As an extra incentive, here is a spicy Spongebob meme. Not sure if attaching it is breaking the rules, oh well lol)

It really depends on the RP. Some rps expect at least three solid detailed paragraphs, and others can do with just three sentences a post. I think that Rpnation is rather diverse with its roleplay. But generally, one-linears are usually not accepted.

I have never been one for onr liners, so I should be fine on that front. Anything regarding all of the different categories and how to use them? That's what I'm most confused about.

I mean how the different categories, like the ones you said, are to be utilized.

Like, what posts go where. Kind of like the unspoken rules veteran members know, if you get what I'm saying.

Well, once again, that depends on the Roleplay. Unless you mean something else by "Utilize" than what I am thinking.

So let's say I wanted to do a roleplay in a post nuclear war setting. Where would I post that, and what would I have to do to start it?

If there is a lot of high tech weaponry, I would put it in Futuristic, otherwise, Realistic or Modern.

You will first post in the interest check area that you want to do the roleplay in. In the interest check, you say what the rp is about, the overall plot of the rp, the rules, and how many players you would like the rp to have. If the amount of people you want show interest in the rp (usually, they would just post "interested") you go to the rp area, and post your roleplay, and do the magic.

Alright, I think I'm getting this. Thanks for the help!

(And for putting up with my slow mindedness, lol)

Bubblegumyum10 has a point though.  Some sites post rules but don't care what happens after that; RpNation isn't one of them. ^ ^

Welcome, Коммунист Тостер!  As far as the different categories, those are intended to group by setting, not necessarily by plot or theme.  So if you have a post-apocalyptic setting with not a lot of tech, but a couple players put extra-dimensional elves in, it's still Realistic/Modern because that's the setting (regardless of a couple characters).
