Inspired by the Epic Story ideas, and the Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny...

A new primordial comes from the Wyld. They look around one morning, survey Creation, and decide they're going to wipe the Exalted slate clean. They gather up every single Exalt, in Creation and out, and dump them into Nexus, sealing the city so that none can leave. There is only one way out; an artifact left somewhere in the city by the primordial. The one person who is holding this artifact- a small obsidian key- upon the next sunrise will be released back to where they came from. Everyone else in the city who's not dead will be killed.

In the case of Celestials, their shards will all be dumped back in Lytek's office at once, and hopefully rouse the Incarna with the sudden influx of paperwork. The Realm, on the other hand, will have to wait for all the kids to Exalt to get any Dragon-Blooded.

So, who will be the Exalted... Survivor?

I said Solar, based on raw power... but a really old Sidereal or 1st Age Lunar would probably whip everyone, come to think of it.  Then again, everybody would go gunning for their ass, so maybe not...

They could get the key, yeah, but then they'd have to hold onto it until sunrise.

You've got to think of teamwork as well in this scrum. Sure, only one person survives, but at least it can be one of your guys.

A Solar, knowing this Charm could win that in no time.
Stop whoring out your Charms, you Charm-pimp!

Ahem, where was I...hmmm, toughie that...I'll have to get back to you on that...I need to consult a pattern spider....

Yeah. Unfortunately, glider combat probably wouldn't be too helpful in this scenario :P

You mock me, sir.....but alas, you are right.  This goddamn Primordial won't accept that a glider could simply fly over the wall and away to freedom.  Hell, there probably ain't enough wind in Nexus to get a good start...but that's where this Charm comes in handy   :P

Of course, all of the Sidereals could just Duck Fate the entire fiasco and remain free.

On a completely different tangent, I've always wanted to make an spirit known as Fate Duck but never got round to it....

Sorry, carry on.

I am pretty sure primodials could find a way around that, they kinda stand outside fate anyway.

If the Primordials can circumvent Exalted Charms, then why did they get slapped down like bitches in the Primordial War?

Ambush and superior numbers I say.

if i was that primordial i would be worried, i mean he grabbed every exalt in exhistance, and out them all together. Their is only one of him... i would start getting a little worried about that game if i were him.

Lunars in my opinion.

  • *If all exalts were gathered, that means they have at least 5 first age lunars in there.
*They could track it and find it without problems, being great survivalists.
*Holding on to it would come to giving it to a bird totem while it flies around in totem form, keeping it from others.
*They are great at team work.
*They're great at distraction, and hiding.
*They're combat monkeys and could keep any raging exalt at bay at least long enough for the key to get away.

There are so many Dragon Blooded there, that there's a 95% chance that the key will end up right in a DB's lap from the start, since it will be so darned crowded. Then, no one will even suspect the DB's because.. well. How could a Dragon Blood ever gotten the obsidian key with all those people there? So while all the super powerful beings go around killing eachother for the artifact, this DB wonders what this black key is, and strolls out with a second thought on the subject.

Alchemicals: Not used to cities

Lunars: Pretty good chance, actually, but also not so great at cities

Infernals: Where's my retinue?

Abyssals: Short on essence, would have to beat people up to get some back, and that's not great when surrounded by people. Especially when the terrestrials have a good chance of immediately knowing what he/she is, what with the peeling skin/death-becomes-her complexion

Siderials: Everyone else: "Who the fuck are you?" - Also, not generalised enough to this kind of mission without access to their outside resources, I should think. How often do they have to search for a key in a city?

Dragon-Bloods: Immediately start infighting and get little done relative to numbers. The Nellens and Iselsi probably die first, which is much the pity for them as they are the two houses most likely to find a missing item in a city, with their down-to-earth or downright sneaky methods.

Overall, I put my money on a night caste Solar. Invisible or Under Disguise, he'll waltz through the idiots and backstabbers as just another face in the crowd, and meet minimal resistance. Once he gets the key, he'll use invisible statue spirit and sit pretty.

The Abyssal Days come in a close second, but the abyssals in general are slightly better at combat but worse at everything else. This is "everything else".

My e0.02.

I'd put my money on a solar circle sorcerer with the total sphere of annihilation and enough ox body to sit it out with adamant skin technique :)

No, no, wait... Isn't it Avoidance Kata? I'm pretty sure Duck Fate only is a perfect-dodge-that-avoids-all-bad-effects, 10 motes, while Avoidance Kata is the annoying, -avoid-a-battle-or-social-intercation, 2 motes.

Hm? Or am I totally wrong?

On the subject of who'd win, I'd say Infernals. Jes' 'cause they are, after all, the favorite toys in the box, while the other Exalted are bad dolls belonging to the annoying kids one stair up.

Could be. I honestly haven't cracked the Sidereal book in a while.
