It is Realm Year 724. The Blessed Realm, the center of all Creation, withstands a perpetual siege from enemies above and below. Surrounded by chaos and death, the Realm battles the beautiful but deadly Fair Folk, spirits who overextend their boundaries and zombies formed from the dead. The Northwest draws all these threats, and more.
  Beyond the Realm, in the northern areas of the Threshold, villagers hide in walled cities and tell of shadows and steel men. The North Air Fleet loses four of its finest battleships to the waves, with no survivors. Merchants will not sail without an escort against giant squids, pirates, and shifting reefs, and the Realm's economy suffers.
  As the captains of the Grand Destiny, the Seventh Battleship of the Air Fleet, the PC will initially escort merchants through the dangerous waters of the Northwest. During the chronicle, they will discover the fates of their deceased comrades, subjugate satrapies to the Realm's rule, and defeat some of the evil Anathema.
