WW have a downloadable 2nd edition character sheet on their site.

Check it out here.

Looks like 'Nature' has been changed to 'Motivation'.

Pretty bog standard stuff really.

Hmm. They still have a Dodge. Thought they got rid of that.
Oh yeah, didn't notice that.  Although, I thought they were keeping the trait and including a defence value?  :?

I thought I heard that they were ditching "Appearance". I guess that was just nWoD.

Yeah, I heard that they were gonna have a nWoD style static defence value as well... at least that's what knowledge I gleaned from the comics.

Well....

Even if they do have a static value for defense:

1 The charms still have to have pre-requistes for the charms

2 The ability probably plays some role in the calculation of a targets DV

Personally, I like it when a game system seperate a characters appearance from his charisma. Still's isn't a looker, but he's nice guy!

**cant spel todaye**

I suspect that Dodge will still be rolled. The static DV is simply a different manifestation of Power Combat's +Essence to Dodge.

You sure about that? The new developer's spiel about 2nd Ed in the WW quarterly strongly indicated a decrease in the number of rolls in combat.

The only time I see Dodge being rolled would be when called for by a charm effect--say, the revised version of Safety Among Enemies?

Maybe defence with Dawn abilities are rolled and Dodge is not? That'd make Dodge more... uh... different.

...just a guess. I was hoping they'd keep the active defence.

I prefer active defenses aswell. I'm sure though that if you wanted to switch you'll be able too, hell they might even tell you how to do it as an option.

I doubt that they're done away with Dodge rolls. If they did, it would be the only Ability on the sheet that you can't roll. Wouldn't that be kind of fucked up?

-S

It would. But still, they have rules for cutting down the number of rolls against extras. Maybe they went a bit further down that line and made dodge rolls static unless you use a charm.

I'm just hoping. I'm very touchy-feely when it comes to rules. I even let my players roleplay some combat scenes :)

You would think that they would have done more to redesign the new character sheet and maybe streamline things a bit.  Well, I suppose we'll just have to wait and see when E:SE comes out.

In the WW Quarterly article, Chambers referred to the existence of both Parry DV and Dodge DV (DV = defense value, the passive defense stat). So, no.

I'm cautiously optimistic towards DV:s... I consider anything that speeds up combat a potentially Good Thing.

... as to whether or not it will break the game experience, I'll reserve judgment until playtested.

Hear, hear. I just wasn't impressed by the Power Combat solution, which was to make you die faster.
