the future isn't always bright

An assignment has been issued to the Rotek Operative Units; Platinum, Gold, and Oynx, who were sent to investigate the reports of a high-risk level scientist located within the lower sectors of the Tara Region. The assigned squad units were dispatched to locate, find, and detain the scientist in question, Dr. Zaman. Upon arrival at Dr. Zaman’s hidden lab, the operatives find him right in the middle of a trial run on his portable time-traveling prototype. In a panic from being detained, the doctor, in a last-ditch effort, triggered his time machine in a desperate means to escape. However, he was unaware that he would be dragging along passengers on this journey to the past.

Yᴏᴜ’ᴠᴇ Gᴏᴛ Tɪᴍᴇ

It would appear that your attempt to apprehend Dr. Zaman was unsuccessful. Despite your best efforts to vacate the vicinity, you were suddenly warped through the time-space continuum by the scientist’s machine.

The world around you goes black, and once you’ve regained consciousness, you find yourself surrounded by lush foliage plants, towering trees, larger than average insects, and crisp air. The contrast is vast to that of the bustling Miraino you’re familiar with.

Units have been scrambled into separate groupings throughout the area:

Group Five are the first to compose themselves and initiate contact with the other groups. Given the radius of the armor’s communication device, operatives are still able to receive transmissions from the other units, albeit with major connectivity issues and static.

Ariel and Lara discover a fragment of the time machine created by the scientist. They scan the area for the remaining components and send out coordinates to each group as well as a rendezvous point for them to meet.

You hear Torin’s voice crackle inside the suits intercom with the transmission going as follows:
Dr. Zaman…found dead…d̶e̶a̶d̶ ̶a̶s̶ ̶h̶e̶l̶l̶…time machine….power source….found...sending coordinates...for fragments…...over..and out.

With that barely coherent message sent out to you and the other remaining operatives, you must work together with your current group mates to locate your missing teammates and figure how to get the hell out of the shit show you're in.

O B J E C T I V E S

⒈ Find the remaining pieces of the time machine.

2. Convene at the rendezvous point.

3. Return to the present.

A deep burgundy gaze began to shift as the vertigo took its toll on his frame, the device Dr. Zaman had activated emitted a white cast that rendered his sight. Next was the feeling of being churned like taffy, time travel was not a pleasant experience, to say the least. Nor was his landing, it would appear that high altitude trees once occupied the area, and he was dangling on one of said tree’s unsteady branches. One snap sang through his ear canal, then a crack, then a pop, and before he could react he was falling, and falling, and falling. Quickly activating his jets prior to impact, he saved himself from a potentially debilitating injury.

He found himself wandering for less than a half an hour locating others nearby. Lex, Kai, and Drex, not the worst probable outcome in terms of being grouped with others. Shortly after grouping together, the choppy message Torin managed to transmit was received. Clearing his throat he drew his left wrist close to his face and spoke, “Understood cap, we’ll regroup at the rendezvous.” Locating the fractured parts of the time machine was the top priority, Dalziel was unsure of what period of time they were trapped in, but he wasn’t fond of living out the rest of his life in it.

Thoughts wandered to the well-being of others, specifically his twin and Uzali, it’d be a disaster if Ariel panicked, triggered an asthma attack, especially with him not around to provide comfort care. Uzali was capable of holding her own, however with the change in environment, and ignorance to what dangers lie ahead, even she could be caught off guard. In short, the desire to retrieve and piece together the machine was high.

Dalziel pivoted on his right heel, to face those around him, “So who wants to take the lead?” This was less of a question of who should be the lead, more so who would be willing to retain damage if they were attacked from the frontline.

This was a problem, but Frey could handle it. His team leader wasn’t with him, and neither were Del or Dalziel, but the rest of his team was nearby. He surveyed his surroundings and saw the same thing he saw when he had first opened his eyes: lots of greenery, and lush tropical plants, and a bright blue sky. Absolutely none of it matched the time period that he was from. Where was all the advanced civilization? The tall buildings? The constant buzzing of humanity’s noise? It all had been replaced with nature, and the buzzing now was from the bugs that were hidden in the foliage. It was humid and hot and sticky, but it also was so vibrant and alive. This was what Earth had looked like, once upon a time. Amazing. Beautiful. Extraordinary. This, right here, was why he loved this planet. Honestly, he really would not mind the change, and wouldn’t mind exploring this old world, if he knew what time period exactly he was in. The past held many unfortunate things, and he did not want to be caught up in them. He didn’t want his teammates to be caught up in them, either. They needed to figure out how to get back to their time quickly. Even though he did want to stay and experience this Earth for a little while longer.

He had wondered, when he first woke up in this time, how long he had been knocked out for, but he quickly realized it didn’t matter. Everyone was scattered, and no one knew where anyone was, or what this new time period had in store for them. It was a dangerous situation. He heard static and recognized Torin’s voice, and he let out a sigh of relief. The others were fine. That was good. Torin said to find the fragments of the time machine, and he nodded. Aye aye, captain. Frey also wanted to figure out what time period it even was. And not leave anyone behind. He looked at his teammates and watched them for a few moments, looking their limbs over for any injuries. They all seemed fine. He saw no wounds on them. That was also good. He turned his attention to his comm and tapped the screen on his wrist, not sure if it would be working properly. The screen flickered on, then flashed dangerously at him. Torin’s voice had been so staticky, but he had an important message to get out. “Everyone, don’t die, please and thank you. Good luck.”

He dropped his wrist and cleared his throat, then heard a noise in the distance that sounded very similar to something he had once had on his bedsheets. He looked into the trees, and the call repeated, and he felt himself smile. No way. Was it really possible? How many years in the past would that put all of them? He couldn’t calculate the math quickly enough, and when he realized he was still smiling, he forced his smile to fall. He should not be excited to be in the past with dinosaurs. That was actually, technically, a bad thing. Dinosaurs were far larger than he was. Than anyone was. They were unknown to humanity. All humans knew about them, they knew from the bones that they had collected, and the simulations that they had created with them. They were still a mystery to humanity. Now, he guessed, they wouldn’t be a mystery.

Dinosaurs were another problem, but Frey was sure he’d be able to handle them, too. He felt his smile try to make another appearance, but he kept it contained. It was exciting, being in a time when dinosaurs existed. He couldn’t wait to add them to his ever-growing collection of animals he changed into. They were the most similar animal to a dragon he’d ever be able to encounter on this planet. He wondered what dinosaurs he would run into, and how different they’d look from all the simulations, or if they’d look pretty much the same as everyone thought they did. He would not be turning into anything any time soon, though, even if he was excited about learning their form so he could change his own. Not with his team around. Not with anyone around.

Although, admittedly, this time period would probably be okay for him to change his form. It wasn’t like there were any people around that would try to capture him. If he was alone, the only thing he’d have to worry about would be dinosaurs. Still. He wasn’t going to risk it.

He needed to make sure his teammates knew what to do, especially if comms were going to be so staticky. He was the oldest member out of this current group. He needed to do something. “This is a bit of an unfortunate situation, but I bet we all can figure it out together.” He smiled at each of his teammates, hopefully cheerfully enough to reassure them. “But if everyone is okay, which you all look like you are, then we need to find the fragments, like Torin told us to do.” He checked his comm again and saw a mark on the screen, though he couldn’t entirely discern how close or far it was from him. “It seems like it might be close to us, but we don’t know what’s waiting for us in this time. Lune,” he looked at her, “what can you hear? And, Dahlia, do you think you can send a crow out to scout around and see where the fragment is at, if it's stuck somewhere?”

Zola would be good at killing any aggressive dinosaurs, but he wasn’t sure what he could ask her to do. He didn’t want to boss her around, since he was not actually their team leader. He did have seniority above her, though. And he wanted his team to trust him. “Do you think you could kill a giant lizard?” Frey asked her, smiling. “I have my dagger, but you’re a way better killer than I am. Not that any dinosaurs will actually bother us. We might be totally left alone. But, you know,” he shrugged, “if they do bother us, can you stop them? And can you tell how far the fragment is from us? I was never very good at figuring out coordinates.”

He wasn't entirely sure what he, himself, would do. He was, to his teammates, a human who was stuck with them in the past. He honestly might seem kind of useless to them, since he couldn't do anything remarkable and he wasn't known for being a fighter. If a dinosaur approached them, he would at least know what kind of dinosaur it was, and if it was a carnivore or herbivore. He could be the intel guy. That would have to be how this worked out. He'd just have to be the "human" among the aliens and the android, who had a simple invisible dagger to protect him. That, sadly, was not the best role that he could have had. Hopefully his teammates would not notice.

Luness Profile.jpg

Their mission had gone to shit. Luness narrowed her eyes, fur starting to cover her body and her features elongating with subtle cracks. She started to sprint toward Dr. Zaman, her eyes focused on the prize. She leaned forward and leapt, launching herself at the doctor. Her claws were stretched out, the doctor nearly in her grasp. Then darkness.

She awoke with a groan, pushing up from the soil and blinking in the harsh sunlight peeking in through the canopy. Luness rubbed her temples, a dull headache reminding her that she was alive despite what had just occurred. Which was what?
Looking around, Luness caught sight of three others with her. Frey, Zolar, and Dahlia. Well, at least she was not alone. Wherever they were. Her ears twitched at the sound of nearby animalistic noises that made her temporarily wonder if she had ended up on the set of the latest dinosaur movie. Yet, hearing the discussion over comms and then Frey's question, Luness finally realized what had happened and groaned again.

Pushing herself up on her hind legs, Luness stood and slowly turned in their little clearing, her ears twitching this way and that. Her eyes caught sight of several bugs that were large enough to be something from her home planet and definitely felt as if the noises around them could be beasts of her own kind. Still, her connection to the dinosaur movies earlier reminded her that they had traveled back in time, not to another planet entirely. The looming canopy and creeping sensation of being watched had Luness on edge already.

As it were, knowing that the doctor was now dead and his time machine was in pieces, Luness suspected little was going to go right for their group. At the very least, they certainly needed to get moving before anything found them first. They needed to regroup and they needed numbers in case any of this time's predators decided to hunt them down.

Listening to Frey's attempt at encouragement or whatever that was, Luness rolled her eyes and muttered underneath her breath, "Maybe we'll defend ourselves by being polite to the dinosaurs."

Walking over to join Frey and the others, Luness crossed her arms and tried to listen to Frey. This new world was so noisy, though, her ears kept swiveling about and she found that she only heard about half of what Frey had said. Still, she caught him calling her by the nickname he had given her and Luness focused on him then.
Sighing, Luness gestured about with a paw and responded in her deep, raspy voice, "There's dinosaurs and a consistent buzzing sound from all the damned bugs. I can try to warn the group if something approaches, but it could just be a very large insect getting too close."
She stuck a claw into one of her ears, rubbing it around and trying to seemingly clear her ear to no avail.

Feeling equally useless with their suits' technology, Luness waited for Zolar or Dahlia to take charge of manning the GPS for them all. Despite being on Earth for numerous years, Luness still struggled to understand its technologies. In contrast, her own world was leagues behind on their technological advances.

It was all happening too fast. Too much noise and too many people shouting over the comms. Lara blinked and wiped away sweat from her brow. She furrowed her brows and tried to focus on her work. Her fingers flew over the holographic keyboard that she had summoned in front of this terminal. They were down to the wire here, running out of time. Coding reflected in her eyes, as she desperately tried to track her progress.

Just as she was about to press enter on her keyboard, there was a blinding flash of light and then she was blinking up at blinding sunlight. Rolling to her side with a grunt, Lara pushed herself up into a sitting position and immediately scrambled backwards on her butt until she hit the trunk of a tree and was under some shade. Panting in a slight panic, Lara unrolled her sleeves and pat herself down for her sunglasses case. She put them on and winced when she felt some of her right hand already aching from the sunlight that had been glaring down on it for however long she had been incapacitated.

Hugging her hand to her chest, Lara slowly looked around and finally took in the new world she seemed to have been transported to. Well, new timeline anyways. She could only assume they had failed to stop the doctor and had apparently gone backwards in time considering the environment and animalistic noises in the distance.
Looking to the sky, Lara saw several beasts flying in the air over yonder and gaped when she realized they appeared to potentially be pterodactyls. No freakin' way, she thought as she stood up and returned her gaze to where she had awoken. She caught sight of several of her teammates in the immediate vicinity and realized not all of them had awoken quite yet. Knowing she was the most susceptible to being harmed by the sun out of everyone here, Lara bit her lip and remained in the shade instead of checking on her teammates.

Hearing Torin speaking over the comms, Lara sighed in relief and then took a step back towards her safe tree trunk only to trip over something and cry out in surprise at the sudden face plant. Muttering a curse underneath her breath, Lara pushed herself up to see a fragment of something just beyond her feet. Shifting to her knees in front of this fragment, Lara suddenly remembered Torin telling them to find fragments and excitedly realized she had just found one, forgetting her embarrassing face plant in the process.

Snatching up the fragment, Lara stood and scanned the area to try and sight any allies she could reach.
Disappointed to see none near her or out of the sun, Lara folded her arms and called out, "Oi, git yer lazy butts up!"

ATLAS

Damnit, we were so close!

That damned doctor. If we were a few moments quicker, maybe things would have turned out differently.

While no one knew what the machine would do, everyone got the hint that they shouldn't be close as Dr. Zaman scrambled to activate it. Evidently, attempts to escape the machine's range were futile; everyone who was present at the scene of Dr. Zaman's attempted - and failed - apprehension were affected. The sensation that followed was strange and unnatural, a feeling that Atlas had never felt before. It was similar to when he entered his "powered-down" state, except he felt conscious at the same time. It was like his vessel was being moved - not by a physical force, but by reality itself. This ethereal darkness was quickly consumed by blinding light and equally overwhelming humidity. While most Androids most likely would be either unbothered or entirely unable to feel sensation, Atlas was created to be as human as possible. With that in mind, his programming simulated the repulsive stickiness that lingered in the air. Not only was the humidity cranked up to 11, but the heat was absolutely insane. Luckily, Atlas' body inherently filtered extreme heat like it was nothing, his cooling system working to keep his temperature the same.

Needless to say, Atlas was extremely alert, immediately eyeing up both himself and his surroundings. Met with the towering treeline and massively exaggerated flora, it definitely felt like nothing of the world he knew. Accompanied by the booming calls of large prehistoric beasts and the creatures flying overhead, what had happened was obvious - as unbelievable as it may sound. Peering towards ground-level rather than the treetops, Atlas realized that he was met by a stroke of luck. Del, TJ, and Aylin all were within the vicinity. He felt relief wash over him, now that three people were accounted for already. At the same time, Atlas realized he had a grin plastered on his face, the excitement of the situation being a little bit overwhelming. Each person would overall process the situation differently, but confusion came first and foremost.

Raising his GARGANTUAN BEHEMOTH arms in the air, he beckoned everyone nearby to come towards him. While it would've been more optimal to yell over the sounds of the wildlife to grab the attention of his new "squad", he was acutely aware that it would be inviting the local fauna to begin hunting. Even if he didn't call out, staying in one place was just as dangerous.

A few moments later, the communications system on his wrist began to light up. While the connection was bare minimum, he was able to make out who was speaking and what they were saying. Torin was alive, Atlas' assumption being that he was scattered into a small group as well. Knowing that there were others out there, he held onto the hope that everyone made it. As long as no-one became lost on their own, the chances of everyone making out of this catastrophe alive were arguably quite high. This feeling was reinforced as Frey and Dalziel both chirped responses over the radio. Thus, Atlas spoke into his forearm, his eyes scanning the treeline as he spoke. "Everyone who can hear me, stay alert and aware. Your priority should be to find at least one other person before moving, just for safety. Torin covered what you need to be focused on primarily. Good luck, and don't fuckin' die!" His tone was determined, though he wasn't sure how broken up the message would be over the malfunctioning comms. After speaking, he looked at the coordinates, eyeing up the general direction they needed to head towards to find a fragment.

After deactivating his PDA, he looked up towards everyone nearby - hopefully, now, they were close enough to hear him. "Once everyone's ready, we're moving! The longer we stay in one place, the easier we are to track down by anything lurking out in the forest. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to kick some prehistoric titan ass.. but, we're out of our element. Not everyone can fight - even if you can, there's no way of knowing what we're up against." Glancing back towards the PDA, he memorized the coordinates while simultaneously acknowledging the general direction - pointing towards it with his free arm. The faster that they found the fragments, the faster they would be out of danger. While he wasn't worried about himself, he knew that anyone outside Onyx probably wasn't in the position to defend themselves against such monstrous creatures. He wasn't lying when he said he'd go out of his way to test his strength, but there was no way he'd ever consider it when it puts others in danger. While Atlas made it his priority to search for the fragments first, he intended to bump into more people while his group moved through the dense foliage. As long as no one was entirely on their own, the situation should resolve without a hitch.

Del, Feeling: Absolutely psyched
That was a lot to take in. Del thought he was pretty good at handling new situations. In fact, he knew he was. His whole life had been one change after another, but this was different. For the first time in his life he had too many questions and too few answers. Circling around his head he couldn't help but let out a sharp gasp when he opened his eyes. Instead of the inviting coolness of Perio's asphalt he was met with lush foliage-- Real plants. He'd never seen ground that wasn't entirely manmade before, let alone been in a real jungle. The imperfections of the dirt, from uneven mounds to the awkward angles the trees grew at amazed him.

Luckily his thoughts were broken up by Atlas's arms. They were huge. It'd be impossible to miss them, really. Del tucked his chest against the ground below him and swiftly crawled forwards, careful not to step on any sticks or move too suddenly. When he was within earshot he abruptly stopped and raised himself onto his knees. Taking in everything Atlas said almost put him at ease. This was his first mission with Rotek, and someone else stepping up as the leader was a great help. Letting out a simple, "Sounds good, big man," was all the confirmation he could muster at the moment.

Now that he had begun to think, things weren't too bad. Even if he got eaten Del was realizing he would get to see a dinosaur, which presumably no person had ever done before. Almost right on que, he began to distract himself. Maybe dinosaurs were like penguins; Fatty and feathery. "Maybe we'll get to see one of those ones with the necks, you know. The vegan ones?" He suggested to nobody in particular. After realizing what he said, Del truly hoped Atlas hadn't heard that. He would never hear the end of it. Could dinosaurs even be vegans? Regardless he figured the best course of action was to shut up and put his head down.

Rheavankeint Venk
Location: Miraino?? | With: Torin, Ariel, Ava, Lara
Interactions: Lara ( Lioness075 Lioness075 )
As much as Miraino had been difficult to navigate, filled to the brim with sound pollution, always slightly uncomfortable to exist in due to the humidity in the air and overall an unpleasant experience from when she first arrived to present day-

At least it wasn't this.

Groan-growling a reply to the miscellaneous white noise that beat on her brain in an all too familiar way (Perio couldn't even bother to be quiet on a nice day), Rhea slowly got up with one hand while rubbing her snout with the other. A shooting pain was striking up her side and onto her face, concentrated on her nose and leaving what felt like an afterimage of pain on it. Her head ached, and without her permission her body lurched forward and bile was launched onto the dirt beside her. It smelled horrid, and the girl immediately decided that she didn't like it. Getting up on wobbly hooves, she used her good eye to survey the area for her equipment.

Her helmet hadn't fallen too far ('Remind to wear the head protection's straps Venk'), though the eye-piece had taken a beating. At least it wasn't vomited on. A tiny growl made it's way out of her mouth realizing she probably had to fix it. Unfortunately, her tools were at home and not...

Wherever...

This place is.

Taken aback by the sudden scene change from stark grays to rich foliage greens, Rhea looked around herself in awe of the flora. Greens bled into deep browns, and vines ('What are those??') hung from the canopy far above her. Unfamiliar plants surrounded her, and the girl felt strangely... lost among the trees. Spotting a clearing, Rhea was making her way over there before another burst of sound hammered into her ears. Unlike the last however, this one sounded much more like... Ingi-lish. That meant a sentient creature she could at least half-communicate with.

Trudging to the place where the sound came from, Rhea was once again taken off-guard by the sweeping green vistas and gorgeous blue sky that surrounded it. Not dark gray like her old home, not smog-filled like her current place of residence, but just... blue. With a trembling hand she reached out to touch it, to touch that untouched and clear blue before her...

when another pang of pain hit her like a claw to her face. Another bile pile, this one leaving an unpleasant churning in her insides as she stained the grass. All at once, the perfect scene was blemished, and Rhea turned away from the smell in disgust.

Putting on her helmet and finally collecting herself, Rhea squinted to see anything through the cracks in her eye-piece. A flash of red appeared, one that seemed huddled up in a corner beside one of the trees. Headache now a minor inconvenience, the centaurian extraterrestrial walked to the dot that flickered in the distance through her eye-piece, unaware she was walking with a slight limp. Yelling out "Hello-" before pausing when she heard the cracks in her voice. She cleared her throat. "Hello?" she yelled (Perhaps a touch too loud), hoping that whoever that was would make their way to her, because for some reason that formerly 'dulled' pain was now stabbing her not so politely in the side. Finally looking down to the injury she winced at the rough red texture on her lower flank, speckled with shining little glass pieces. Months of studying herbs came back, and she reached for her bag. As she did she noticed her vials were all gone, and while worrying, not important right now.

Quickly treating and bandaging the wound, Rhea got up once again to make her way over to the huddled shadow in the shade of the tree. On further inspection, the huddle seemed to be Lara. "Sin-chiato, where is rest?" she asked, though her wording was confusing. She looked around the girl to only see more trees behind her, the canopy providing a nice shade that covered everything with a shadow, and Rhea decided she couldn't be bothered to try and look for any of her squadmates. Turning to Lara, she looked curiously at the piece of metal in her arms. "What'is that?" she asked, slurring 'what' and 'is' in a failed attempt to use a conjunction.

Thick boots squelched underneath their wearer, leaving behind damp footprints atop foreign lands. Un-fuckin-believable, the man gritted, jaw clenched tightly as he trudged after his teammates. To say that the mission had gone completely wrong would be an understatement- no, this was a disaster.
One that Lex couldn’t quite comprehend, which had only added on to his frustration. Though the obvious was certain, they were no longer back home in Miraino. Bunch of that Dorothy piss, he momentarily mused. The rich forestry that’d dwarfed his figure had made that much clear. Not to mention the lack of civilization, where exactly were they? Or should he say, when?

The man’s shaggy locks seeped with droplets of misfortune, a sure fire result of awaking within the waters of a ravine. Which was strange, considering that he hadn’t even remembered falling into one in the first place. However, the thought quickly left his mind, brushed off by the answer that whatever that doctor had done, had brought him to that exact position. It was his fault. All of it. Lex grunted, limping ever so slightly as the pain began to wash over him. Not that he was injured, no, his ass just hurt. A lot. Fucking doctor fucker, I hope he gets mauled by whatever whorish beast is out there in hell, the scot internally ranted. He continued mercilessly with his wishes until an ear-piercing roar had nearly wiped his mind clean. On instinct, his palms shot up to cover the openings of his ears, mouth wincing as the grounds seemed to shake below them. What the fuck was that?

Lex paused to look over at his counterparts, whom all seemed to be wondering the same thing. However, it was not until the red-headed lad spoke, did they finally begin their conversation. It ‘d only been a few minutes after Torin had issued his commands (which were basically to find the parts and get the hell out), but now it appeared that this own little conglomerate needed someone to take lead. And who better than Lex himself? ....Don’t answer that.

A brief silence passed before the male stepped forth, appearance horrendously disheveled. Why it looked as if he’d been through hell and back, despite this only being the very beginning. Lex scowled, swiftly reaching for his cartridge of cigarettes and sticking one in between his lips. When he found that the water had gone as far as to corrupt his only available vice (proven by the great difficulty in lighting it) the man cursed under his breath. “Well there goes that.” He grumbled, having half a mind to punt the wee thing across the woods. He was pissed.

“But ay,” he began, “if noone else wants to do it then I volunteer myself little lad,” he announced, voice hoarse despite being soaked. Wordlessly striding up to the front he then muttered, “We’re all gonna fuckin die anyway.” Turning his back on the group, the man ventured forth, keeping a single eye out as he began to talk once more.

“Perhaps it’d be better if we were in some sort of formation,” he began,“we need eyes on all sides so i think some sorta shitty shape would be good ta follow. Maybe a rhombus? D’ya know what those are?”

Ava regained conscious with a start, her delicate features twisting into a furious snarl as she remembered why she’d fainted. Her nose was scrunched, her scowl revealing grit teeth, and her brown eyes shimmered with something dark. She was going to kill him!

The woman stood up from the ground before she was hit with the sudden realization of just how far back the time machine had brought them. A pair of dinosaurs were soaring through the sky, so far above her that they seemed no larger than children’s toys. At the sight, the murderous look on her face turned to one of shock. Ava turned around, scanning the landscape around her for a sign of more. There weren’t any, but there were tropical trees that seemed to loom over them. And scattered around the foliage where some of the other Rotek operatives, one of which was standing over the doctor’s corpse. Torin. His voice echoed over the comms followed by several others that were much fuzzier, some giving encouragement and others giving instructions.

She was starting to follow her leader’s orders by heading towards Torin before she heard Lara’s cry. At the sound, she turned around to follow the sound. The petite woman hurtled through the undergrowth, her hand sliding down to draw his gun. Was she getting attacked by a dinosaur?

Ducking down to avoid what seemed to be a dragonfly that was several times larger than what she was used to, she came to a sudden stop upon finding Lara. “Are you okay?” she asked, voicing her concerns much louder than she’d intended to in her worry.

But the thing was that the blond-haired woman was perfectly fine, even having time to find a piece of scrap metal that she was now cradling in her arms like some sort of baby. Wait – was that a piece from the time machine? Registering that Rhea was also hovering beside her, Ava realized that it had just been a false alarm which caused her to sigh in relief. There was no way that the two would be waiting around if they were in danger.

Filomina Larakis was not made of elastic, but being time warped felt like being stretched in every direction possible. Time traveling seemed like an eternity, eventually the spinning ceased, and she made contact with the ground, her body making a light thud as she kissed the dirt. Once the Onyx Squad member had pried her eyes open, she took in the scenery. Mina noted lots of green, not that she was bothered by this, in fact, she took time to simply stay put. Rose colored orbs peered up at the lofty trees in awe.

Due to her training at Rotek she was unknowingly processing her surroundings to get a better idea of where she was exactly. The small group of alvarezsaurid dinosaurs dashed by, and so the final puzzle piece fell into place. Reading a books about prehistoric eras didn’t compare to being there in the flesh, she was walking (or rather lying) amongst dinosaurs.

Torin’s message interrupted her admiration of the plantlife and wildlife. Well I should probably get up and look for people. Lifting her upper body from her flat position she inhaled deeply before standing up entirely and dusting herself off. Given her general appearance, with emphasis on her hair stood out, she hoped that someone would find her before a predator did. “C-can anyone hear me?” her voice lightly echoed throught the trees and bushes. The location of one of the parts to the machine was nearby according to these coordinates, but she didnt want to embark alone.

The indigo haired male was probably one of the very few out his squad who actually detected what the old man was trying to pull. As the skittish scientist started backing away, and pulled out what seemed to be a detonation device of some sort, Drexel knew then that this mission was about to go very left, very soon.

The throwing knife artisan readied his personal blade betwixt his deft fingers, ready to launch the weapon precisely at the small contraption within the doctors grasp so that it would get knocked out his hold. He saw his opening when he recognized the cat like form of Luness launch herself at the doctor, effectively holding his attention away from the rest of the team. Readying his blade, the gambler took his chances and aim the knife directly at the small device. The blade pierced through the air, but just before it could make it within a few inches of it's target, suddenly his vision blurred and the knife seemed to warp into another dimension. Feeling of actual uncertainty entered into his system, and he blinked to clear his eyes, assuming to be simply his clear contacts were messing with his eyes again. And at the worse possible time too.

But suddenly, the sensation of falling override his senses and the artisan male felt like he was on the fastest rollercoaster ride of his life. He closed his eyes to block the nauseating swirls of colors and scenery, and subconsciously braced himself for an immediate hard impact. Possibly death. All he could think about was that it seemed his luck had finally ran it's course. And honestly, he sort of welcomed it.

But the feeling of pain, and whatever death felt like never came. Instead, he felt sort itchy. And very uncomfortable. "Ugghm, what the..huh?!" Amethyst orbs widened from the shock at his new view of scenery. Plants, plants, a lot of trees and rocks, but then just more plants. Scrunching his sharp brows, the young man looked below him to notice that he had somehow became situated on a bush. Huh. Well, it was better than falling into the ocean and drowning, or worse, a volcano. He believed you always had to look at the flip side of things. Like a coin.

Detangling himself from the spiky bush, the conglomerate's son dusted off the leaves and dirt that had latched itself onto his clothing. Surprisingly, his notable white pants didn't suffer too bad from his apparent messy landing, perhaps a few streak here and there but nothing that he would feel embarrassed about. Stretching his arms, his midriff peeked a little, and Drexel almost immediately began to feel his nausea return. Eye twitching, the cool haired male hurriedly fell to his knees and instantly began retching the contents of his stomach into the bush that he previously was on. "..Fuck." He muttered to himself, wiping the excess from his lips with a large leaf he found lingering on the ground.

As he stood up, he heard the sounds of something approaching and he remained still so as to not alert whoever it was that he knew they were there. The sounds of rustling came closer and just as he was about to take a defensive stance, he luckily noticed before he leaped, that it was actually the welcoming sight of his squad mates. Well, they weren't actually in the same squad, but close enough. He was just glad he didn't get caught up in the time machine by himself. Just then, the gravelly sound of what he assumed to be Torin from Gold broke through his comms and affirmed their current situation and objectives. Raising his brow, Drexel briefly wondered how their comms system was still working where they were.

He easily assimilated with his new found group mates, not really knowing them well, aside from a few interactions here and there with the Scottish sounding man, Alexander. Dalziel's he's more or less heard of his reputation around the base for being the off the wall type, and Kayden...well he wasn't sure who he was like that but he seemed on the broody, serious side.

When the red head turned around to address who would be their supposed, 'leader' of their ragtag team, Drexel only shrugged. "I don't know man, I mean, is it even necessary right now? It's literally just us." He stated, placing his hands into the front pockets of his pants, thumbs hooked over the opening, an eyebrow raised at seeing Alexander realize his coveted item was no longer with him and chuckled slightly. " No offence Lex, but I don't think I want someone borderline suicidal leading us, buddy." He patted the tall man on the bicep, before looking from the inky haired Kayden, and back to the notorious gold member himself.
"Actually, why don't you take the lead, Dalziel. After all, you've been with Rotek the longest out of us here, no? It makes sense, you know, seniority and that jazz." Just then the sound of something loud and screeching sounded from above, and Drexel swore he could feel the ground beneath them shake. Fuck that. Clearing his throat, the lucky male tapped his foot in mild nervousness. "Regardless, we need to hurry and get the hell out of here my guys. Who here knows how to do coordinates and GPS type shit." He looked pointedly over at the two platinum dudes as he said so.

Mentions: Torin Fanaa Fanaa

As soon as they had arrived on the scene in Tara region and discovered the mad doctors lair, Zolar had already assessed the probability of success for this mission. And that probability was a close 5% success rate. For one, there was just too many damn operatives assigned to this mission. Did they really need this many people for one simple human? The advanced android felt that Rotek was committing overkill at this point. It shouldn't take this many agents to take down a single person. 'High risk level' or no.

And her point was proven when the team lacked proper tactfulness, and the feline attributed member of the gold squad took it upon herself to enact an attack on the Doctor Zaman. The gold squad were more or less under the impression that no one was to act without the direct order from their squad lead, Torin. But that clearly was forgotten as she witnessed their fellow members launch their attack on the crazed doctor.

But before anyone could see the outcome of their assault, the world around them had shifted, then swirled into a mess of colors. It was mildly discombobulating for the android, but Zolar made sure to quickly lower her sensory receptors as low as possible during this unsuspecting transition into the other dimension. It took but mere nanoseconds for the shifting to stop and Zolar felt like she quite literally had been dissembled and then reassembled at the same time. Blinking, Zola sat up from the the prostrate position she was in and raised her hands up to the sides of her face. A quick flick of her wrist and, 'snap' she realigned her head with the rest of her body that must have become misaligned from the fall.

Ah, yes, that was the problem. Much better.

As if on auto pilot, the full haired android flung their arm out as if reaching for something, or rather someone, "Torin." She said aloud, expecting the dark skinned, easily irate leader to still be beside her like he was during the mission. However, when her fingers only met leaves and branches, and the sound of a bird squawking was her response, is when she realized the Gold squad lead was no longer with her. Not too mention, nor was anyone else they were with on the mission. At least that's what she had momentarily assumed until the unmistakable voice of one of Torin's subordinates, Frey Bardot sounded near her.

Shifting her gaze, the android realized the reason she couldn't notice Frey, nor anyone else around was due to the fact she still had her sensors turned off. In an instant, she fixed that small problem and her senses were completely restored to their former settings. Standing up, she dusted off her suit and walked over to where she noticed a few of her squad mates were assembling together. A quick optical scan told her it was only them within their current vicinity. Meaning, Torin was no where near here. And for the first time in a very long time, the cold hearted android felt more human than she cared to admit. She wasn't made like most of her other AI built brethren, no she was able to discern most emotions and feelings, and for once, the advance AI wished she wasn't built to actually understand human cognition.

Pictured scenes from the past began to invade her memory database and the android had to push such intrusive thoughts to the back of her data storage. But then, as if whatever entity an android could even believe in had felt this particulars AI's concerns and answered them as the sound of Torin's gravelly voice broke through the comms device located on her ear as an earring stud and the undeniable sensations of what could only be relief flooded her system. It was a choppy transmission but the message was clear enough, and that was all the mocha skinned android needed to hear to quite literally get her shit back together.

Zolar finally brought herself back to their current situation, and silently observed as Frey began to issue out directions to the remaining members of their unit. When he reached her, she could sense the mild hesitation laced in the human's tone, as if his fidgety demeanor wasn't already an indicator of his lack of experience in the leadership department. Zolar's typical bored visage remained the same as she responded to the barely taller human before her.

"Frey, are you requesting for me to dispose of a reptile at this present moment or for future need? Make your orders clear." Her ice blue orbs whirled for a second before refocusing on the pale male again. "As far as the device fragment is concerned, my optic scanners only have an area wide radius of forty feet. And.." Zolar paused for a moment to recheck her information. "there is nothing of what we are looking for within that radius." She stated just as Luness stepped up with her own applicable information.

Zolar silently watched Luness for a moment and then fixed her gaze elsewhere. Zolar felt the want to address the feline alien about her actions before, but Zolar also knew when certain times called for specific situations. And this was not one of them. If you were to ask Zolar, she'd honestly tell you that she believed the alien woman to be direct cause of their current predicament. Had she not leaped and tried to take out the doctor so quickly, and awaited orders, they would not be where they are. And it would take thoroughly detailed facts for the advanced AI to see otherwise.

"Bardot I want to make it aware that you are issuing many requests, when the most applicable, and necessary one would be to do exactly as our leader ordered. We will focus on heading to the rendezvous point while I scan for any time machine fragments along the way. Luness will remain alert for any external anomalies that pose a threat. And Dahlia may use her ability if she so chooses. Though we already have plenty of sensory types at hand. I do not believe anything else is of need." She stated directly. Zolar pretty much only slightly repeated what Frey had said, but just in a more concise, and confident manner. Perhaps to the others she would come off as harsh and cold, but that was something she was neither aware of, nor could control herself on. There was a slight pause before she spoke again, as if having a sudden revelation, "What resource will you provide here, Frey?" The icy android inquired honestly.

Filomina Fanaa Fanaa

The alien princess felt as if she were floating, which she quite technically was as her body was flung from the present and brought to the past. As everything swirled within her vision, Uzali caught the fleeting sight of her twin sibling in the distance, and attempted to reach out to him, but it was to no avail as she were flung further away through the whirlpool of time. The scream she bellowed for her brother echoed, and Uzali clenched her eyes, wrapping her arms around herself as she seemed unable to get ahold of her suits flight mode while she was being forcibly torn through the space time continuum.

Then, it felt like a hole opened up and she was being forcibly dropped through it. Opening her eyes back open, the pale haired alien realized that she was indeed still falling. But not like kind of falling she were experiencing before, no, now she was quite literally falling; very hard and very fast. Sapphire eyes perceptibly widened as she finally became aware of the very imminent danger she faced and instinctively summoned forth a lunar barrier at the last possible second to encase her as she fell. The momentum was too much for her jets to kick in and save her from the impact.

Uzali shut her eyes and once again braced herself for impact, though the Zatyrian trusted her ability to keep her alive, at the very least. A thud sound happened as Uzali made contact with the solid ground, her barrier automatically dissipating once she landed. The ground felt oddly softer than she would expect. And had the most peculiar scent, reminding her of confectionery treats that the platinum leader would consume from the human Frey. Squinting, the alien female raised herself up, her hands grasping onto something soft and large as she did so. Looking down, she finally noticed that the ground she thought she had landed on, was actually that of another female. Another quick sniff confirming it to be an alien female at that. However, she did not appear to be Zatyr which was to be expected so Uzali made to continue her usual Earthen way of speaking. "Oh, apologies Uzali has for you!" Righting herself, the horrible English speaking princess remained a top of the pink haired alien, only adjusting herself so that she were instead straddling the much thicker female below her. "Are you a being of this planet? Do you have knowing of the planet's calling?" She questioned rapidly, before realizing another mistake she has made.

"Ah! Again I have forgiving's for you my fellow sister," Uzali blinked and moved her long hair from around her shoulders as she offered the well endowed alien female below her a genuine smile as if she were greetings one of her subjects. "I am, Uzali Vovina Altovar. Leader of Rotek's Platinum Squadron. How are you?" Of course the foreign alien princess meant to ask, 'who are you', but her applied level of English skills still unfortunately only went so far..

Dahlia sputtered awake like an old car, a breath uglily ripping through hér as if she'd forgotten how to breathe. Which in a way, she had. Adjusting to having lungs was an experience she'd already undergone when she first arrived on Earth, and for some reason, she felt as if she were awakening to that wheezy memory, and breathing her first breath of air. The oxygen felt thicker, more dangerously filling, like a full breath would threaten to pop her lungs. Instantly, she knew they were no longer in the same place as the lab crowded with operatives. But that still begged the question - had the doctor been successful? Had he managed to bend space-time to his will and transport them all not someplace else, but sometime? The thought put her stomach in knots, as she was forced to consider never seeing her modern megatropolis again. Sure, she'd inevitably adapt, but that was not to say Dahlia was without her creature comforts.

Nearby were some familiar faces, three other members of Gold Squad, with her staticky commander over their comms making for a healthy five, in total. Something about coordinates, with instructions to reconvene to them before setting out to go search for fragments of the machine that brought them here in the first place. All were valiant efforts, but Dahlia worried that they might be in vain. Even with all the pieces of the machine, could it be repaired without the assistance of the late Dr. Zaman? It probably didn't come with an owner's manual, and yet, there was something damning about the idea of not trying at all. Frey, as always, was doing his best to maintain an outward appearance of positivity, but the other half of their little party clearly wasn't going to add to that optimism. Namely Zolar, who in Torin's absence, seemed to think it was her job to emulate him as best she could. That meant valuing competency above all, and so of course, that meant Frey would instantly fall into her crosshairs. Whenever Torin decided to start berating his fellow human, Dahlia ignored it, but allowing it to go on from the get-go was just going to make their walking together even more soul-crushing.

"Please, Zolar, let us be cordial. I'd say our current predicament negates the need for any poking of holes in our group's dynamic," she pleaded, raising a hand to the sky and sending a pair of her birds to scout beyond their range. Dahlia saw all that they did, a young, untamed Earth, full of unfamiliar dangers only theorized about by modern minds. "We have a lot of walking to do. My birds will join you in your scans, in case your instruments have not sufficiently calibrated to this new environment." She began in the direction of the coordinates supplied to their communicators, looking over her shoulder at Luness. "With me. My attention is split between three bodies, I need you to keep an eye on me directly."

Ariel was a man that enjoyed his job, however, there came a time in every working adult’s life when the job began to become less desirable. This mission would be the one to put a wrench in that thought process, for he was thrilled to be in the presence of such a gifted individual. Ariel was fully aware of the scientist’s criminal background, but that didn’t negate the fact that he was an admirable inventor. He could only hope that the confiscated works would be thoroughly examined by those in the Platinum Squad. Prodding at Dr. Zaman’s machinery would be at a standstill until further notice, for he and the others were being transported to the past, Jurassic Era to be more precise.

After Dr. Zaman commenced the time travel machine to operate, there wasn’t much that Ariel or his squad mates could do to stop the madman. His vision blurred, then he lost his sense of sight.

Regaining consciousness, darling eyes fluttered and refocused, adjusting to the new lighting of his environment. This was most certainly not the laboratory they had infiltrated.

Determining that searching for another operative to be the sensible course of action he pushed through the heavily plant-concentrated jungle. It was then that he stumbled upon the Gold Squad Leader, Torin Nox, a man who was easily recognizable. The melanated form peered down at a dismembered body, that upon further inspection, Ariel came to realize, was the body of Dr. Zaman. It would appear the brilliant mind had been attacked or rather eaten. The doctor’s skin was hanging by a thread to his muscles, the grass beneath stained with blood, his face was still intact which was a blessing.

Torin handed him the power core he found in Dr. Zaman’s possession and Ariel scanned for other necessary bits to the intricate device. He had faith he’d be able to assemble it once all the parts had been found. Once the Gold Squad Leader contacted everyone, Ariel shortly heard the sound of a familiar Australian accent, “I think I heard Lara’s voice coming from that direction.” Ariel’s hand signaled in her general direction. “Shall we pursue?

“Thanks, Lune,” Frey said, nodding at her. “Still keep an ear out, even if it is a giant bug. We don’t know what the bugs are like in this time. They could be dangerous.” Probably not to the other aliens or the android, but he had a human body, and being bit by something could be potentially deadly. He didn’t want to die in the land of the dinosaurs. Not by a bug bite, at least. That’d be such a lame way to go.

Frey snorted when Zola asked if he wanted to dispose of dinosaurs now, or later. He glanced around at the bushes and trees. There were no dinosaurs around now. How would she dispose of something that wasn’t even here? She was too eager to kill. She still did as he asked, and once she reported her findings back, he frowned. Hm. He didn’t know her scanner had a radius that small. “Well, Zola, do you see any dinosaurs around now?” he asked her, gesturing to the trees. “Because I don’t, but maybe you found one in your scanner. I would ask you not to kill any dinosaurs unless they prove to be a threat. We wouldn’t want you to cause the ancestor of the birds to go extinct.” He glanced at Dahlia purposefully. “And I’ll tell you if they’re a threat, since I’m a pretty big dinosaur fan. I’ll give you a hint, though: sharp teeth means they tear and eat flesh. Those ones are not likely to be friendly.”

He rolled his eyes when Zola repeated back, in a slightly different way, exactly what he had said. She was more to the point, which was great, but was it really necessary to repeat what he said? Hadn’t she followed his directions, and Luness as well? He listened to Dahlia ask for peace, then sent off a couple of crows. He gave Zola a pointed look. “Thanks for repeating what I said, Zola, but I think everyone here understood me well enough. I don’t need you to speak for me.” He waited for her to speak again, sensing her pause, and he smiled when she asked what he’d do. Ah. The perfect opportunity to show that he knew how absolutely useless he was amongst their group. “I’m so glad you were kind enough to ask, honestly.” He was being way too sarcastic, but he wasn’t in the mood to be berated by a teammate. Torin did enough of that, and his team leader wasn’t around right now. There was no way he was going to put up with it. “I’m going to be the distraction, since I am not as amazing as you three are. If any unfriendly dinosaurs approach us, then I’ll get their attention so you three can do what it is your good at. Is that an adequate answer for you?”

He glanced at his comm again, then turned in the direction the coordinates were. “And, wow, I just remembered how to read coordinates. The fragment is this way.” He looked at his teammates. “Thank you all for the help. I don’t want any of us to be surprised by a dinosaur. Now, if everyone is aware of what we’re all going to be doing until we find the fragment, then let’s go.” He started walking, glancing back at his team to make sure they followed after him.

Kayden Fletcher

location: somewhere with dinos

interactions: Drexel, Dalziel, Alexander

Kayden’s first priority during the arrest was to scope out the situation. For example, was the doctor armed? Would he come along willingly? During this mission, his job was to assist the other operatives, so he was stationed towards the back, out of the way of whoever would be doing the cuffing. As they’d entered the room, he’d noticed several things that all pointed towards the ordeal that lay ahead of them. The android’s conclusion? Detain him immediately or get out. His warning was lost somewhere among the ensuring chaos that was caused when the scientist activated his gadget.

As the strange phenomenon caused by the time machine swallowed him whole, Kayden could feel a shaking sensation spread throughout his entire frame. His system started to shut down due to the buffering that being forcibly dragged through space and time caused, his sight dimming as his sensors lost power.

Upon arriving, the device spat out the unconscious android like a ragdoll, the robot’s body sliding a bit before coming to a stop at the base of a tree. Luckily, he’d been deposited by some of the others, which was how Kayden had ended up trudging around in a prehistoric era with Alexander and Dalziel in tow. It was clear as day that Lex was seething with anger – And why wouldn’t he be? The man was drenched in water, little droplets falling from his garments with every step that he took. – and Kayden was doing his best to ignore the noises coming from the man. On the other hand, Dalziel seemed to be in a slightly better mood, though he imagined that the guy was worried about his twin.

The android glanced at a notification as it materialized in front of his eyes, the transparent box visible only to him. Everything was in working condition aside from the fact that there was no signal, which was hardly a surprise. But a stable connection was just a novelty since he had what was basically a built-in hotspot anyways.

As he scanned the notification, a certain indigo-haired man seemed to appear out of the foliage. The sight startled the detective, but he settled down as he realized that it was just Drexel and not some dinosaur with similarly colored plumage.

Listening to the others as they attempted to organize the group, his gaze shifting over to Alexander as he volunteered to lead the group. The man knew how to strategize, Kayden would give him that. But was he reliable? His squadmate had literally just attempted to light and smoke a cigarette, and his reputation as a layabout proceeded him. The android agreed with Drexel; he’d prefer that someone else leaded while Alexander advised them. So that narrowed down the choices to Drexel and Dalziel – Kayden knew he wasn’t any good at it – and if the former wanted to give Dalziel to opportunity, he was all for it. “That’s fine by me. And if Alexander says something, we take can it into consideration.”

All of a sudden, the detective heard an ear-piercing shriek from above. As Kayden tilted his head back to find the source of the sound, the ground shook, nearly causing him to lose his footing. “Here, I’ll do it,” he said, imputing the coordinates into his device before reaching over to help Drexel. That way, the man wouldn’t be lost if the group got separated.

tags: kasigi kasigi // BLK BLK // kath1515 kath1515

As much as it pained him to admit it, there were some intelligent lifeforms on Earth, like the doctor that plunged them into the past for instance. Time travel was a concept many had attempted and failed to perfect, but this puny spectacled man was damn near close.

The banished prince had woken up rather abruptly, guess time travel didn’t really have any major side effects on him, it did however make him hungry, and before he bothered to look for others (and by others, he meant his sister) he looked for something to fill his belly. TJ was able to find a bunch of berries blooming from a bush, and TJ being well TJ didn’t bother to carefully assess the fruit to see if it was poisonous (if he dies, he dies). Deactivating his helmet he inhaled the air, feeling the contrast in his lungs, to the alien, it was superior to the present in every way, but many would disagree.

With berries in hand, he began searching for the others, luckily Atlas was so large and loud that it didn’t take long to find him, Del was also around as well as the small human girl Lin. As the incoming message flowed in one ear and out the other, Tartimok wondered if Torin was the one to kill Dr. Zaman or if it was one of the reptilian inhabitants that now roamed the area. Whatever, it didn’t really matter, dead was dead. Atlas mentioned that certain individuals lacked the ability to defend themselves, TJ looked over at Del and Aylin. Yeah, they were likely to die before him.

Then Del spoke of dinosaurs with necks, but he thought they all had necks. “I am ready to do the proceeding of the search.” he announced, his eyes averting to Aylin, damn she was small, so sad that someone so cute was probably not going to make it. Leaning in he spoke in what he thought was a reassuring tone to the brunette. “Worry not miniature human girl, you are likely not sufficient in the nutrients these beast require, I don’t believe they will eat you.”

TORIN

location: Jungle (Jurassic era)
with: Rhea, Ariel, Ava, Lara
tags: deliriousmishaps deliriousmishaps // AreSneksSly AreSneksSly // Once Once // Lioness075 Lioness075

Torin considered himself a shit show connoisseur, and so, he knew that a mission requiring such a hefty amount of operatives was bound to fly south at a rapid pace. Gold had done their part and infiltrated the facility to allow easy access for the other two squads, but their overwhelming force pushed Dr. Zaman back into a corner, forcing his hand.

While the obvious course of action would be to evacuate, Luness thought it best to charge at a man with an unstable device in his grasp, and though he presumed there was some competent in her DNA that urged her to pounce, this didn’t excuse her actions that which were futile, and not to mention lacked his direct order. Then there was Drexel, the incompetent knife thrower, together, the two formed a useless duo seeing how they were all being flung into the past, looked like knives and cat attacks posed no threat to time travel.

Speaking of the past, Torin was now living in it, he immediately took notice of the lacking presence of a particular kinky hair android. Fuck. Torin began to search for any sign of other Rotek operatives, simultaneously he sent out a series of messages to the feminine android that had all failed to send. As the search continued, his growing disgust for his environment grew. The dancer missed the sleek look of Eneo, the bustling sounds of Tara, the not so welcoming smog in Perio, fuck this pure air and greenery.

Just as he prepped to put his search on hold to send out another message to Zolar, the sound of rustling leaves caught his attention, reaching for one of his daggers he crept towards the sound, but was met with nothing more than the carcass of the late, great Dr. Zaman, who had definitely been mauled by something, and he didn’t need Mars or Artz around to realize that the man was dead. Whatever it was that had ripped the man to shreds, Torin wasn’t interested in encountering it.

Dr. Zaman held a small glowing contraption in his lifeless hand. If the scientist was willing to hold on to it, then it had to be of use, so Torin removed it from the man’s cold grip and turned to see Ariel approaching and tossed him the device. If the platinum member had landed in the past, then it was likely the remaining members did as well. Whenever he did meet up with his squad he’d have to initiate a roll call. Sending out a successful transmission on their current findings he focused his attention on the vibrant haired male that was directing him towards a boisterous voice. Torin questioned why any sensible person would shout in a jungle inhabitable with potential hostile encounters.

As they made their way towards Lara, and unknowingly two others, he received transmissions from three distinct voices. Confirming his suspicions that the others were launched into the same time period. After walking for less than ten minutes, three figures finally came into view and Torin wasted no time to bark orders. “If no one is injured, we’ll be heading out, there are carnivorous dinosaurs in radius. Rhea I’d liked you to take the lead, followed by Ava, I’ll remain in the back, and I’ll leave the navigation to Ariel and Lara.”

Name: Lara SinciatoNickname: Lea
Team: PlatinumSpecies: Human

Hearing someone shout a greeting not too far away, Lara turned in that direction and then frowned when nobody made an appearance right away. She instinctively went to put her hands on her hips and instantly regretted it since her right hand was still red from the sun. Her frown only deepened at this and her mood fell with it.
Sighing, Lara was about to turn away from the direction of the shouted greeting when Rhea made her appearance. Lara tried, but could not help staring at the alien. Sure, she had worked with a few aliens back home being a part of a secret agency and all, but some of them just had such obvious appearances and all...

Rhea began attempting to speak to her and Lara blinked before focusing to make sure she understood what Rhea was trying to say.
"Uh, the others? Yeah, I'm not too sure-"
Ava took that moment to walk up and Lara smiled at her, a little relieved to see someone she could better communicate with.
"Hey, oh, yeah sorry, I'm good. Just a bit too much of the sun there. I'll be alright."

As Ava seemed to relax with the pair, Lara returned her focus to the metallic time machine piece in her left hand and rubbed the back of her neck while wincing.
Hearing Rhea inquire about the piece, Lara sighed in turn.
"Best I can guess, this doohickey - er, piece of metal is a part of that crazed doctor's time machine. Suppose we should regroup with everyone, yeah?"
Lara tried her best to remember that Rhea was not the strongest communicator, but it was also very difficult to avoid speaking her usual way around anyone.

A few seconds passed in silence and then Torin found them with Ariel tagging along. Almost immediately, Lara suspected she knew why most of Gold was in a foul mood all the time. Torin spat out orders with the lack of empathy she had heard of. Still, there did not seem to be any serious injuries, as whatever happened to Rhea had already been bandaged and Lara knew she simply needed to keep herself as concealed as possible from the sun.

Sighing again, Lara muttered underneath her breath, "And to think I always wondered why Luness is cranky."
With a wry grin targeted at Torin, Lara promptly pulled up her GPS system and inputted the coordinates previously mentioned. She was hardly a navigator, though, as her work was mostly with coding and unraveling forensics mysteries.
Feeling even more annoyed with Torin barking orders as he had done, Lara simply pointed in the direction the GPS said to go and added, "I gave the route a once over and looks like it may take us a bit to get where we're goin'. Hope you all wore hiking boots."
With that, Lara waited for Rhea to take the lead while she mindfully tucked away the metal piece in her white and purple backpack, which she always had on or nearby since it contained most of her hacker gear. Sadly, she suspected it was all useless for the time being. At the very least, she had her protective gear and put on her sunglasses before slipping on some black tactical gloves that she used for field assignments. She muttered a curse when putting the glove over her right hand, but the skin was not breaking yet and so she forced it on anyways. At least it would not get worse for now.
Standing back up, Lara glanced at Ava then and said, "You might be better at paying attention to our route being safe or whatever."
It was perhaps a bit too obvious that Lara did not know anyone too well if they were not on her own team or Frey.

Luness Profile.jpg
Name: Luness LaFraeNickname: Lune
Team: GoldSpecies: Alien - Siklaid
Equipment: Shortbow & Quiver, Daggers, Tinkering Kit

While Luness had been more than willing to do what Frey asked of her, it appeared that not everyone else was so keen. While Luness certainly chastised others plenty, she never did take too kindly to Frey being the one chastised. Her lips curled into the start of a snarl, but it was cut short by Frey bantering back with ease. She had certainly seen the boy grow a bit this past year and now it was all the more evident. He was quite easily standing up for himself in a way that he had not used to do. Luness felt impressed, though she would never openly say such a thing.

Her thoughts were interrupted by her fur standing on end along the back of her neck and Luness twisted her head this way and that with another snarl on the tip of her tongue. Yet, nobody in the group was looking in her direction by the time she had reacted. Rubbing the back of her neck to try and get the fur to stay down, Luness listened to Zolar continue her berating unnecessarily. This was going to be a very long mission.

Thankfully, it seemed that Dahlia voiced what Luness was thinking and was trying to get Zolar to back off. Seriously, what was this android's problem? Luness wondered if there was a literal option to tune Zolar's attitude down. That would be nice.

Her right ear twitched when Dahlia pointedly asked her to be her eyes and Luness quipped with a growl, "Yes, your highness."
Still, she readily moved to Dahlia's side and held out her right forearm for the girl to take. Luness knew that this was necessary or Dahlia would probably face plant in two steps. Given their 'side team', if one would even call them that, she was well aware that she had quickly become something of a personal bodyguard for Dahlia, but Luness could not complain overall. She rather enjoyed being needed like this and was content to hassle Dahlia about it with a remark every time.

Mindfully also trying to listen for any dangers closing in on them, Luness had to wonder if an unusually large insect might actually kill someone. That would be a very unfortunate way to go and Luness was unsure if she would feel saddened by such a disappointing death.

Luness nearly choked when she heard Frey suggest he be the team distraction, though. Her head swung back in his direction and she raised an eyebrow at him as if to say, 'Seriously?'
With a sarcastic quip of his own, Frey promptly took the lead and Luness shook her head at his antics. It was a wonder he was the same boy she had met all those months ago.

location = Miraino City – Jurassic Era.
tags = Uniko Uniko .V1LLAINISM._ .V1LLAINISM._ Once Once
mentions = Drexel, Alexander, and Kayden.

Adaptation was a necessity to those who were assigned to the Gold Squad, thus when presented with the various personalities of this horribly constructed group, Dalziel displayed zero signs of displeasure. If they were chosen for the program, then who was he to judge, though he was curious as to how Lex had yet to be assessed from a mental standpoint, or how Drexel hadn’t been dishonorably discharged due to illegal matters. Kayden, as well as himself, seemed like their best chance for survival. Lex was already in an agitated state, and Drexel had the appearance of one who lacked competence. Jesus, I sound like bossman right now.

With arms folded and pressed flat against his toned chest, a sigh escaped him. There they were, the hothead, the drenched smoker, the overconfident rich asshole, and the competent android. Were they, as the locals say, fucked? Absolutely. Dalziel’s eyes traveled up to the tallest of the group’s face. Damp ebony hair clung to his pale skin, resembling snakes scaling a canvas. Unlike Kayden and Drexel, Dalziel wasn’t against Lex leading, him being supposedly suicidal was an added plus, because to the lad it meant he was willing to take one for the team. Finally, he spoke once everyone had their say in the conversation at hand. “I’m in Gold, not Onyx, I know what a rhombus is, and I have no issue leading the pack.” Sharp shoulders rose and fell in a shrug.

No sense in arguing with the majority.

Donning his glove as he prepared to take the frontline, the sound of a guttural cry ripped through the dense air. “Alright let’s get the fuck out of here, Kayden which way?” Questioned the human as he took precautious steps forward. Negativity briefly clouded his thoughts, the idea of not returning home weaving a heavy fear within him. “So….” He began, a distraction technique he had developed over the years, small talk the fears away. “You know those things will kill you, right man?” Dalziel advised Lex. “Plus you can’t last in bed if your lungs give out.” The male added jokingly as he gave the other a pat on the shoulder.

Rheavankeint Venk
Location: Dinoraino | With: Torin, Ariel, Ava, Lara
Interactions: None
As Lara explained what the object was and it's importance to this mission, Rhea's former confusion turned neutral as the moments before her 'fall' came back. She was among her own squad of course, and she was planning to shoot the doctor in hopes of slowing him down, but before she got the chance the man had already done... something that caused everything to feel funny. Even now, as she recalled the unpleasant sensation of falling through time, Rhea could feel the bile build in her throat. Thankfully, whatever strange force that made her lose control those last two times was gone, replaced with the cool metal of her suit. The extraterrestrial nodded at Ava's arrival, deciding that she could keep quiet now (Thank grakk).

Finally someone who had at least a semblance of an idea of what to do. Nodding in a similar fashion at Ariel and Torin as they arrived, Rhea felt a quiet sense of gratitude when Torin proceeded to bark orders. This environment was unfamiliar to her, and while the streets of Miraino were unwelcoming at best, at least she knew where she was most of the time. Given the role of front-liner, Rhea waited for everyone to get into position behind her before walking forwards, bow at the ready.

Walking through the forest was uneventful, and Rhea silently followed the directions of Ariel and Lara when they spoke up. The only thing that interrupted them were the sounds of the forest, and the echoes of roars that would occasionally interrupt the team and cause the centaur in the front to pause, eyes darting wildly around to scan the area. Her eye-piece was still damaged, and while she had gotten to see Ariel, she didn't think Torin would enjoy the hold up. What's more from the all too familiar roars, this place seemed... hostile, to say the least. So getting out was front and centre in her mind right now. She'd just have to wait for Nox to nominate a resting stop to request an equipment fix from the redheaded Platinum member. Even now, as she walked between the thick tree trunks that seemed to stretch on for miles at a time, she could distinctly feel her paw twitch to where she kept her vials, only to have it rest on her belt instead. She couldn't panic now. If they did encounter the thing that made those roars (Grakk help her if it was things), she had to keep a sound mind.

She wasn't going to die here. Not today.
