Fantasy Everything Is Not As It Seems...

"But why?!" Lake sobbed, still not letting go of the other. "Why do you guys keep coming back? *hiccup* I don't deserve any of this! I'm not a good person! I'm a bad kid, unwanted, hated, a freak… I don't deserve any of this!" She tightened her arms around Aurora to a point where she was almost sure that she was crushing the other's lungs. "They were right, they always have been. I can't do this! You guys would all just be happier if I wasn't here… You guys wouldn't even miss me! Nobody ever does…" She mumbled the last bit in Aurora's shirt, almost unbearable. Lake didn't notice, but unlocked the door for Sapphira to enter.

I untangled her arms from me and get up, unlocking the door for Sapphira. I went back and sat down in front of her, wrapping my arms around her even tighter than before. "I would miss you. Cole would miss you. Believe it or not we all would. You're not a bad kid. You're just hurt and trying to find something that satisfies you. You're not unwanted or hated. And as for being a freak...well we're all freaks. We are like the only kids in the would to have powers like ours. You're a freak, but the good kind in my eyes," I said holding her.

Sapphira slipped inside, opening to door just enough to get by before closing and locking it again. She sat down on the bed on the other side of Lake, rubbing her back gently. "Please don't go anywhere..." Too many people had left her.

"I just don't know what to do anymore." Lake's tears still fell, but she stopped sobbing as she stood up from her spot on the bed. "I just…" She hid her face against the heel of her hand. "I just want to know what's going on!" She said, tears dripping down her elbow. "I just want to know the truth, everything! I want to know my real parents! I want to know why we were taken away! I just want to know everything! this whole this is so fucking messed up that I don't get anything about it!" She removed her hands and sat up on her desk, wiping her nose with the back of her hand as she looked out the window. "Why did they have to have us? There are probably so many others, so why did they have to chose the worst ones?"

"I know you want answers. We all do. None of us truly understand what's going on, and that's because Tobias always fails to give us a straight answer," I said softly as I watched her intently.

"We can always just beat him into a pulp and then ask questions, lets see how he gives a straight answer then." Lake growled and grabbed the desk tightly. She shot Aurora a look in the corner of her eye before she looked at the blue guitar that was standing in the corner of the room, thinking of a thousand ways to beat Tobias's skull with it.

"Lake now isn't the time. We need to worry about Cole right now, okay?" I said looking at the guitar then back at her as I stuffed my hands in my lap.

"He's in a coma, there's nothing to do about that, right?" Lake snarled and turned to Aurora with an angry frown on her face. "It was just an "accident" after all." She said and made the quotation signs. "It doesn't matter if I worry or not! He isn't even awake to witness it!" Lake shouted with the last bit of anger she had inside of her. "I can also just beat our dearest Ollie into a coma, get my answers from Tobias and beat him into a coma too! Maybe they will wake up together, then we can beat up those aliens or whatever and continue with our miserable lives as if nothing had happened!"

I got up and wrapped my arms back around her. "Calm down Lake. Coles gonna be fine. He's gonna wake up, get better, and when this is all over, you two are gonna go off and get married and have beautiful little babies," I said softly.

"Oh yeah?!" Lake shouted and pushed the other away. "Then we all can go live in a castle on a rainbow and have unicorns, that poop glitters and burp butterflies, as pets! I DONT WANT TO CALM DOWN!" She screamed. "I want my fucking answers just like at the beginning of all this shit! I want it and I want it now! I want to know every single itty bitty tinie tiny detail before I worry about the rest! We could die! We could be get abducted my those aliens and get tentacle raped like those perverted anime clips! We could get caught by those bastard that are after us and get treated like some lab rat experiment! How can you see a fucking happy ending to all of this?! Maybe you should get your head out of that pink happy cloud! I don't believe for a second that you would be any different than me if Oliver was in a coma!"

"That's where you're right. I wouldn't be any different. But that doesn't mean there isn't a difference. See, the difference is that I'm here for you, but if Oliver was in a coma and I was put in your position, you wouldn't be there for me because you hate me that much," I said calmly then sighed. "You want answers? Then let's go get your answers, but no one else gets put into a coma," I added as I stood up and ran my fingers through my hair.

"Great, put I still get to smash someone's head in!" Lake snarled with a smirk and got "her" guitar before heading out of the room, she didn't even look at Oliver on her way out, she knew that she would kill him if he did. Instead she decided to look for Tobias. She wanted her answers and she wanted them fucking now.

I ran out behind her and pulled the guitar from her hand. "If you break this you'll have to pay for it. If you're gonna beat him up, at least use your fists," I said as I sat it against the wall and looked at Lake. "I hate seeing you so upset," I said softly as I looked down.

I just sat there in silence as they all rushed out, and stared at the floor. If I had just not lost my cool...none of this would have happened. "I'm more of a liability then a use to this so called 'team'" I said quietly to myself.

"I'm not upset, what makes you think I'm upset?" Lake asked as she turned on her heel towards the other. "You've never seen me in another kind of way. Who the hell do you think you are?!" She pulled the guitar back again and hid it behind her back. "I'm here because Tobias put me here, I don't want to be here and if I beat his scull with this-" She held the guitar up. "Then it's his scull that broke it so he can pay for it. Does it really look like I give a rat's ass if I have to pay for it or not? It's just another thing I can add to the list."

I sighed softly and put my hands up in defeat. "For someone who obviously doesn't want to be alone, you're pushing me away pretty hard," I said softly as I looked her in the eyes.

"You said you wanted to know me, so that's what you have to deal with." Lake growled. "Better get used to it, princess, because the old me died long ago and is never coming back. Now are you going to help me find Tobias and beat him up or not?"

"I'll help you find him, but you're gonna be the one beating him up," I said quietly as I looked at her with a sigh. I looked around and stuffed my hands in my pockets as I started walking again.

Lake didn't say anything after that and stomped down the hall, guitar dragging over the wooden floor. She walked down the stairs, guitar falling down every step. "TOBIAS!" She shouted once she was at the bottom, she checked to see if the other two were still behind her for a quick second and returned to shouting. "TOBIAS, WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?!"

Tobias heard Lake's shouts from the secretary's office and walked out casually towards her. "Yes Lake" he said calmly as he approached her "What do you need? "

Lake chucked the guitar at him, missing by just a couple of inches. "I need to have a very VERY serious word with you." She snarled and approached him as prey. "You've got a lot of fucking explaining to do- COME HERE!" She grabbed him by the collar and pushed him into an empty room, she didn't look behind her to check on the others before slamming the door shut. She tossed him into a chair and pointed at him in a threatening way. "You… You are going to explain me everything from start to end right. Now. Unless you want me to beat your brains in." She snarled low and dangerous. "I have had it with your half hearted answers!"

He somehow stayed very calm and said "Fine you want to know the hard truth. Here it is, no sugar coating. The people you grew up with, were not your real parents. You were taken from them when you were a baby and put in the care of two ETDU agents. The only one of you that lived with their real parents was Aurora, because her parents already were ETDU agents. I have no idea who your real parents are and I'm not even sure I if can find out. Is that enough for you."

"No!" Lake snapped. "You just told me everything I knew!" She threw her hands up. "I want to know why! Why take us from our parents? Why us? We're a freaking time bomb! I want to know everything from start to end…" She roughly rubbed her eyes when she felt tears coming up again. "Stupid tears." She mumbled. "Why us?" Lake asked a little calmer, why couldn't you just leave us alone? Aren't there any others? How are we going to fight a bunch of aliens? How are we going to end up afterwards? Will we just be left alone or become some human experiment , locked up in a lab for the rest of our lives? How did we get these powers? How do we get rid of them? Can we get rid of them?" She took a deep breath and stopped her rambling. "I want to know everything so I can understand what is going on. I can't take this confusion when I'm practically in fucking rehab. YOu can't just take my drugs and then do this to me. It's confusing and annoying and I have a headache and feel like breaking down… Can you just tell me? ... Please." She added after a couple of seconds.

He sighed. "Lake...I'm trying to help you guys, I really am" he said softly "But the truth is of everything you just asked, I don't know the answer to most of it either. All I know is you guys are possibly our last hope of survival, and thats it. I...I'm sorry I can't tell you anymore. "

"But then who knows?" Lake asked, tears now visible. "I can't do this Tobias. I can't!" She sat on a table and pulled her knees closer to her chest. "There has to be someone who knows! I-" A lump in her throat cut her off. "I don't know what to do and I'm scared. My body feelings like it's burning all the time, my mind feels like it's going to explode and feel like I'm gonna lose it."
