  A woman of nearly a quarter century of age, yet a body that doesn't seem to be affected by the ravages of time. Adeline lives in a personal bubble of her own subjective reality where things like logic, magic and objectivity all seem to disobey their most basic of laws.
  
  
  Hair of a solid void, a darkness from whence no light escapes, it falls down to the floor and pools around her. Her eyes are opaline, the whites a rose pink. Her face extremely friendly yet somehow appearing both detached and involved at the same time. Full lips above a tightly chiseled jaw. Freckled cheeks give a distinct look.
  
  
  Her body is soft and seems to be constantly smelling of exotic spice, akin to a holiday. She appears different at almost every angle, sometimes the skinniest obese Hulbrad, sometimes the fattest cachectic, sometimes the tallest of the short and at others the shortest of the massive.
  
  
  Clad in long robes, she dons a cropped top, pale skin occasionally showing through. A pair of trousers, long enough to pool at her feet. She has a bad habit of nail biting and often will clap in delight. She smokes profusely and often arrives in a cloud of smoke that varies in scent with the time of year.

  Adeline is a voracious fan of architecture and has read/collected any writings on the subject along with visiting the greatest wonders of her time. From the frozen North of Trollhaven, to the living depths of the World Cap, and even projecting into the Infernal realms, Adeline has sought out the structures of both the willful and un-willful mind

  As a side hobby, Adeline grows and tends to exotic plants from across the world. She also makes a tidy sum selling dried and rolled herbs to be smoked by those that can afford her steep prices. It is even said that Adeline is currently harboring not one but two tree folk within her enigmatic estate. When it comes to properties of plantlife, Adeline may possibly be the greatest expert in the known world.

  Adeline is a self taught practitioner of a Hulbrad skill set the emphasizes inaction against those that take action. Never remaining in the same place, it utilizes warped positions, teleportation, and leverage to overcome and eliminate foes in embarrassing fashion.

  Manipulate objects with your mind with an effective Strength equal to your Resonance. 1 Essence per use/per turn to maintain. 5 to strike a telekinetic blow.

  Voided hair - Absence of light and color contained in body length locks. Bonuses to applied bearing rolls.
  
  
  Non aging - Despite being a century old, Adeline hasn't aged past the looks of youth.
  
  
  Spatial Distortions - Adeline projects a passive aura of oddity where rules of reality wrap and bend. This can suppressed through willpower and indulged in by the feeble minded. In and around the ten meter mark, Gravity sometimes distorts, water flowing uphill, perpetual motion possible. Magical energy riffs occur, causing countless side effects and making the path difficult.
  
  
  Wall walking - Often times Adeline leaves her earthly bonds and will walk upon walls, ceilings, and the improbable surfaces she creates with ease.

  Close Relations
  
  
  Hulbrad Edel - Her one and only daughter, the world would revolve around her if the world did indeed revolve. From Adeline's side, all is well. A single mother raising her little girl inside the Rose for most of the war, Adeline committed unprecedented time and effort to her. Making sure the girl was well kept, not spoiled, and given a vast amount of learning. This continued on up until Edel reached an age of independence where Adeline began to pull away. Other projects became interesting and her relationship with her daughter was strained. Often arriving in a flurry of activity, Adeline will visit Edel out of the blue, often with great plans of what to do together, places to visit and so on. Very rarely does she actually commit to these plans but to her, all is well with her daughter.
  
  
  Hulbrad Tristian - Her younger brother, nearly three decades her younger, Adeline treats him like the child she grew so attached to. Mostly ignorant of his personal life, Adeline will sweep him up in praise and joy, often recounting their times together. LIke Edel, she is unessecarily protective of Tristian and tends to lump him in with Edel on how to be treated.

You don't get Teleportation until Ascendance 8 now, Frixz. It's too powerful. You get Hallucinate and Telekinesis.


I'm going to push you up to Ascendance 5, though, given your seniority.


Void Hair is fine.


Slowed Ageing is fine, too.


Wall Walking is her A3 power, for sure. That too is fine; maybe she has to spend Essence on it while her field is down, though.


Spatial Distortion is a wee bit too nebulous right now, can you be clearer about what you want it to do?

Spatial distortion is sort of a field around her that acts like an Escher painting. Water flows uphill, you can use tricks of perception, sort of a wonky idea but I thought it would be fun if physics essentially tripped out around her.

I like it, I just wanted clarity. Hrm. So specifically she fucks with gravity in an area around her? You can add more physical laws to that as we go - she distorts time, or light, or chemical processes after a point. She could, at higher Ascendance, even make Magic behave weirdly.


I'd say it makes Wall Walking redundant, but the way I see it that's something she'd want when she's suppressing the field.


So the field is fine, I think. Either buff it to 5 and pick a new A4 Expression, or pick an A5 Expression.

What levels of power are we talking with A5 and A4?

Distortion as it is now is A4. A5 would be... hrm, it would affect the way energy or time behaves.

Distorting time would be interesting, like making people temporarily appear older or younger around her unchanging form.


Energy would be fun too. She'd be hugely anathema to mages if she distorted magical energies, sort of like a random warp effects table for them to roll on.


Then again, if I can think of a neat expression that'd be fun too. For a different Hulbrad it would be cool to be always facing everyone all the time a la a Sprite like in the old doom games.

That might make a reasonable upgrade to the field, too - distorting perceptions like that.

I think I'll bump the field up to A5 and make it fuck with energy and extend the range out a bit more.
