Aubrey awoke, much like she had the morning before, tangled up in her blankets and lying on the floor of her trailer. The sun was already high in the sky, it's light beaming through her window, and she realised, with horror, that she'd had about 3 alarms set for this morning.. and had slept, undisturbed, through all of them.
It made sense: it was the day after a performance, and, even though she'd only spent the last night running around performing small errands and just generally helping out, the effects were massive. Aubrey was exhausted, and she imagined all the others, the ones who had actually performed, must've felt even worse.
As she wrestled with the unruly tangle that was her hair and practically fell into the first outfit she came across, she tried to recall the events of last night. She'd watched Alvar and Cassian perform, but then things had gotten pretty busy and she'd not really been able to watch the rest of them - too busy being on coffee duty for the other performers. Now that she thought about it, shouldn't that fall under the caterers job..? Why was she stuck delivering drinks, she's not an intern for god's sake-
She was snapped out of her daydream when she realised there was something else she was missing. The arrival of a gaudy looking man - a 'goth magpie', she'd distinctly remembered thinking - with a strange aura that had unsettled her. What was his deal, anyway?
Aubrey stepped out of the door of her trailer and into the sunlight, looking a tiny bit less bedraggled, but only a little. It was still plainly obvious that it had taken her five minutes to get ready, but Aubrey had never really cared much about her appearance, so it meant little to her.
