Ever read the story?

GrimmGooseGirl

*begins looking for adequate poetry snippets*
I'm sure most everybody here has heard of The Brothers' Grimm and all their somewhat gory tales. What I don't know if anybody's actually read them... Cause the Goose Girl is one not generally seen when someone starts talking fairy tales. Anyway look it up, its my personal favorite next the the Robber Bridegroom and it makes for a heck of a username (but you'll have to find your own, I've already called dibs on this on :P ) Now that this particular bit of rambling is done, let me introduce myself! I am GrimmGooseGirl, a semi noob to the world of RP. I've participated bit on G+ but have had little luck in finding RPs that I actually enjoy... I cannot fight to save my life (I've already had a character die in battle), I am very bad at having conversations with than one character at a time, and I am detailed to a fault. However I can make a heck of a character (if I do say so myself) and I have often been complimented on my storyline development. I can collaborate easily (I was made a moderator on one community as thanks for my input with its development), and I am a fast learner. So that's basically my RP skills in a nutshell... Does anyone want personality? yes? no? whatever you're getting a description anyway. My characters tend towards the 'serious but kind/loyal types', I am NOT in any way cutesy, though I can be blonde to an extreme in some cases, I am analytical in every sense of the word and too smart for my own good on occasion. I don't put up with stupidity... ever... Same goes for cruelty or deliberate sabotage, I take the golden rule seriously. I will treat everyone with politeness to the best of my ability but i will not tolerate direct attacks against myself or against others. So... yeah... be nice. Anyway, that is me, or at least all of me that's going up on the interwebs. I look forward to RPing with you :)

Welcome to the site. Always nice to see more people aware of the dark origins of those fairytales.

Don't forget to check your inbox on the upper right there for the welcome package of links - and do drop by the chatbox sometime to meet the regulars.

Welcome, to the community, to those who bring life into their stories and a mind that breaths with imagination. I hope you enjoy your time here, we as a community have a very nice gathering of people here and we try our very best to welcome others who have just joined. I am a veteran at RPG's with gosh I think 8 years under my belt, with extensive knowledge on character builds, story plots and overall character shenanigans. I am not unfamiliar with Grim Darkness, if you know anything about Warhammer 40K then you know what I am talking about. If not have a look at Dark Heresy if your looking for Grim Dark, set in the 41st Millennium of the Imperium of man.

Unfortunately all the GM's I have as friends like their Grim Dark kind of settings where as I prefer the "Hero's will be called, and they will embark on a journey for the better of all" kind of cliche. But I tangled with some of the darkest of forces that the Dark Lords have to offer me, trust me I have died many times over. In combat the best plan is the one you make on the fly with what you have, just remember to dodge once in awhile. *Shudders* I have a mate who REALLY likes to push limits and to force us to basically survive, not fight survive or you lose that character you spent months trying to build.

Anyway I digress, if you ever want to chat I am usually on my computer or have my phone handy, combat is my specialty if ever you need some tips or advice. Though I wonder how long until I need to grab a stand of your golden hair; Again on behalf of the community and myself 'RageFace' Welcome you to RPNation.

Oh, hello, what's this? Someone else who knows the Goose Girl fable?

When I was younger there was a YA series I enjoyed (and still sometimes indulge in) that was loosely based on the story. Titled (shockingly) The Goose Girl, by Shannon Hale. A lot of great, fleshed out characters, a fair few grimdark moments (Falada why ;- ;) . I would recommend it to you.

Welcome to RPN, goose girl!

Welcome to RPN, goose girl!
Actually, that book is a perfect reinterpretation of the original fairy tale, down to the actual names :) and I have that book memorized xD

ouo

How about the sequels? I never got around to reading more than Enna Burning and River Secrets but both were so, so good. I still re-read River Secrets, sometimes, just because Razo is literally the most adorable thing.
