"She's not waking up." Daring announced as he looked at the future Snow White's unmoving form that was laying on her bed, looking peaceful as always. Raven gripped Apple's hands tighter and started sobbing, "Kiss her again!" she demanded on the prince desperately. This was all her fault, if only she didn't put a little spell on that apple for her homework... All this for a homework? Daring knitted his eyebrows, "Perhaps, Apple and I doesn't share the true love...yet." he said with a dreaded tone, refusing to kiss an unconscious female once more. It just feels weird and wrong for his part,
The rebel leader looked at Daring horrifiedly, "But she needs true love kiss to wake up!" she yelled angrily. Her magic started enveloping her before her eyes rested on Apple's closed ones yet again. She gripped the princess' hands, "No, Apple...Please wake up!" she begged as of the blonde could hear her, "I need you; I, I love you...." she confessed making Daring, Cerise and Maddie(The only people who were in the room they're currently at which is Apple and Raven's dorm.) gasped. "W-why don't you...kiss her?" Cerise suggested as she pointed at her own lips, indicating that Raven should kiss the sleeping princess on the lips. Raven looked at them as if they were insane but the desperate situation and the pure sadness inside her heart made her obey so.
She gulped and gently cupped the princess' peaceful face before she started closing the distance between their lips. One, two, three, four and five... After five seconds, a blushing Raven pulled away and looked at Apple, silently hoping that she will finally wake up.
Whilst it probably wasn't very Royal-like, when Apple came to she did so with a slow moan. In all fairness, her head was killing her.
Sitting up slowly, her hair falling in front of her eyes, she took a moment to steady her vision and breathing. Everything felt slow and groggy; she was aware people were watching her - when weren't they, given her position - but couldn't focus properly. She tried to remember what had happened... she's just been talking to Raven as they hung out in their shared dorm room together, eating an apple left lying around by Raven (not that she was stealing or anything) and... oh.
It clicked. She didn't need proof or an explanation: She knew the story by heart. Of course she did, it was her happy ever after ending destiny after all. Blinking rapidly, she looked around for the individual who had woken her from her enchanted slumber, which everyone knew could only be broken by true love's first kiss. Raven was there, regarding her with a look of deep concern that Apple had become very familiar with recently. Whilst in theory she should dislike it - it wasn't very evil Queen like after all - she had also learned to appreciate it when it was worn for her sakes. Despite Raven being her destined arch nemesis and their frenemy relationship, she had to admit that the future evil queen also did tender affection flawlessly.
Apple gave her anxious roomie a small, reassuring smile before- "Daring," she breathed, spotting her true love, who was standing on her other side. Oh this was perfect. This proved it, proved that they were destined to be together happily ever after, despite the recent turmoil. She didn't care that she'd nearly just been put into a coma for the remainder of her life; all she felt was relief.
Squealing in true princess style, she flung her arms around her hero and kissed him daintily on the cheek. "You did it - you broke the spell!" She sighed happily. "This proves it! This proves our destinies. We really are destined to be together." She felt dizzy, possibly from the recently broken spell, possibly from excitement. All this worrying recently, about what would happen to her, and worse, to her and Daring, and now she knew. The reassurance meant she'd never been happier. Pulling back, looking at her boyfriend - who was wearing an oddly awkward grimace rather than his usual grin - she beamed at him. "My true love."
"Well this is awkward..." Cersie mumbled in the background to no one in particular, mirroring the uncomfortable half smile worn by most of the onlookers.
What is wrong with this Apple? She clearly was the one who kissed and woke her up. She, she, she she. Raven did not Daring, just because he's your Prince Charming ever after doesn't mean he's the one who kissed you. Daring awkwardly smiled at Apple then looked at Raven for help or something. "Um, Apple? I think you should be...." but then he paused because Raven glared at him, indicating that the prince should keep quiet about this and accept all the credit- even though it shatters the purple-haired girl's heart.
But it's best this way, right? Who would want someone like her as their one true love in all ever after anyways? She- the daughter of the evil queen, the girl who threatened destiny itself and not to mention...Apple is a girl and she is a girl too. Surely, everybody would be against it, even Apple would be against it. She silently cried again as she imagined the monarch rejecting her, then her friends leaving her too.
Raven looked at Apple who looked so happy right at this moment. The princess really wants a Prince Charming and she clearly don't fit that definition whatsoever. What made everything worse was Apple calling Daring her "true love" after she patronized their destinies again. She imagined being the one who's recieving all that hugs from her, being the one called her true love's "true love" instead of some...Prince.
"I'm so sorry..." she muttered as she wiped her eyes using the back of her hand, "Th-this is all my fault." she said taking all the blame for this accident. "I'm so sorry, Apple." she repeated once more, louder this time.
"Raven..." Maddilyn looked worriedly at the said girl. She, as Raven's most closest friend knows about the future evil queen's love for Apple. And she never judged.
All Raven wanted was to pass a stupid class (that she doesn't even like to begin with anyway) using an apple and this is what she gets?
Apple couldn't even be angry. Avoiding near death had made her surprisingly elated, though she realised perhaps she ought to hide just how pleased she was. After all, the reasons as to why she'd been doubting her future with Daring... didn't bear thinking about.
Composing herself, Apple sat up straight and cleared her throat, nodding at Raven. "It was an accident," she said, and everything, from her soft smile to gentle tone, embodied the princess demeanour she had been taught to hold from a young age. "No harm done." She gave Daring another, slightly too cheerful smile. "Let's just be grateful Daring was here to fix everything."
The hero in question had previously been looking a little confused, glancing between Apple and Raven as if he were trying to work something out. Whatever it was, it seemed to have clicked, because the confusion vanished and his blinding grin returned in full force. "Of course," he said smoothly, throwing Raven another brief glance that Apple didn't really understand but it didn't matter. Nothing could go wrong now that she had her true love and her destiny proven for her. Raven was looking so upset though...
Apple supposed now that things were sorted with Daring, she could afford to be less cautious around Raven and how she- well, how she felt about her. Apple reached over and placed her hand over the back of Raven's, giving it a small, reassuring squeeze. "Really it's alright, Raven." Her demure smile widened into a not so princess-like grin. "Thank you, for helping to bring me and Daring closer together. Although... maybe next time warn me when you enchant our dorm room items?"
Raven looked away from the princess who was comforting her, feeling hurt and emotional with every supposed-to-be comforting words that comes out of the young monarch's lips. The lips she just kissed mere moments ago. Apple is so unfair in many ways. She gets to have Daring while she gets to have...no one if ever the two of them accepts their destinies. And what's worst? Once Apple finally had Daring, Raven would be hated and her name would be cursed by everyone. And just as the storybooks of legends has shown, Apple would just be there, watching her suffer.
"That's right..." Raven stepped away from Apple, "Just an accident." was falling in love with her roommate can be consider as an accident too? "I...I hope you both the best..." she mumbled, voice cracking at the first part of the sentence. Daring eyed Raven worriedly, as if the witch would break any moment now and turn to dust.
"You're really lucky to have each other for your whole ever after." she smiled, of course at first glance it would look sincere and just a normal Raven Queen confident smile. But look closer and you will find out that it's actually just a mask, if you look past through it, everything is broken.
Raven decided, maybe if she starts avoiding Apple, this feeling will just go away and get carried by the wind-away from her. Then everything will go back to normal.
Cerise and Maddilyn Hatter rushed to her side to aid her, the wonderlandian girl rubbing the spot at the back of her BFFA while Cerise just smiled at Raven then looked at Apple, "I think Raven is tired." she started.
Maybe it was just Apple suffering the after effects of the spell, but she didn't get the impression that Raven's smile was genuine. She chalked it up to post-coma paranoia though, because if there was one thing she knew about Raven, it was that she was hellbent on the whole 'being true to yourself' philosophy; A fact that most of the time drove Apple up the wall thanks to it endangering her Story, but it did have the perks of making Raven's words very dependable. Why Raven would choose now of all situations to start lying, Apple didn't know. What she did know was that it would be wise not to dwell on it.
Frowning at her roommate, she tried to ignore the subtle sadness about her demeanour, but now that'd she'd noticed it, post-coma-crazy or not, she couldn't stop noticing it. "Of course," she said brightly in response to Cersei's comment, smiling to cover up the nagging sense of paranoia. She even laughed. "After all, she didn't get the benefits of an apple-induced beauty sleep." Over tiredness didn't seem like a fair explanation for the weird feeling Raven was giving Apple though.
As the others lingered, Apple cleared her throat in a very proper, ladylike fashion, pointedly asking, "Are we having a slumber party? Because Briar will want to come and plan activities." Her tone was just careful enough to inform them all that she'd appreciate their absence for the moment, and soon they all cleared out, Maddilyn and Cersie lingering without explanation, before Daring called them out. Left alone with her roommate, Apple decided to dabble in a light spot of interrogation, ignoring the instinct that leaving the matter alone would be best. "Are you feeling alright, Raven?" She asked from where she sat on her bed, sitting up straight, her hands folded neatly in her lap. Hopefully whatever was wrong could be sorted quickly; she hoped Raven wasn't just still feeling guilty. Especially not when Apple was so glad for what had happened. "You look like you're the one who just got poisoned."
Raven gave the worried Maddie and Cerise a small smile of assurance, indicating that everything would go just right. She silently made her way to her own side of the room- to her bed to be specific when everybody left her and Apple alone. The gothic bed creaked as she laid down the soft fabric. The witch silently hoped that the princess over there would not ask any questions any longer as she finds lying quite...hard. It's just not her thing. She really values staying true to herself. Sure she can put on a fake mask every now and then but...it feels like there is a dozen of heavy elephants weighing your heart down and you just can't shoo them off.
But then alas, the blonde teen girl just wouldn't let her sleep peacefully. She began asking her about her health. The dark haired girl simply laid down there, tucking herself in the warm comfort of her "villain looking" comforter. "To be honest I'm not really feeling spelltacular right now." she finally replied as she refused to turn around and face Apple that was on the other side of the room.
She really feels upset about everything right now, she really feels like she was the one who have been poisoned instead of that naive princess over there. And by the way, Raven is still serious about that "avoiding her as much as possible and move on" deal. But she herself know that's not really possible, how could she avoid somebody who lives in the same room as her anyways? She really needs to ask Cupid for advice. Maybe the winged girl can let her borrow her book called "How to Move On 101".
Sometimes closing her eyes and imagining how things would be like if Apple isn't a destiny obsessed freak and everybody can choose their own destiny and true love, does feel good. "Maybe I'm just upset that I jeopardized your life..." she tried to explain, but of course that's not all the reason on why she's upset and gloomy.
Though the hour was late, there seemed little chance of Apple sleeping after having just been almost permanently put into a coma, so she remained seated as Raven buried herself under her duvet. Though she had no explainable reason, Apple wished the future evil queen would roll over to face her. It felt odd communing with the back of her head, and worse, Apple was starting to get the impression that she herself was the cause of upset. That in itself seemed bizarre, for as future Queen she always tried vigilantly to please her future people - even the evil ones - and besides, she couldn't think of anything she'd done wrong.
She listened to the rest of Raven's speech, and smiled softly. Apple still had the nagging feeling that she was the cause of upset - after all she was still being given a nice shot of the back of her roomie's head - but had yet to determine why. "I know you'd never try to hurt me," Apple said gently, because it was true. "Even when I'd like you to." Raven had been refusing to poison her for months now, much to her displeasure, which to some people might seem a little... odd.
"Is it..." Apple said slowly, and decided she was done with this odd, cold distance between them. Even when Raven had been off on one of her Rebel revolutionary streaks, things had never felt this uncomfortable. Thus, Apple stood up and marched over to perch neatly on the end of Raven's bed, her face set with determination to push through whatever the hex was going on. "Is it because you're afraid this means our storybook destinies really will come true, and you'll end up...?" Apple trailed off and twisted up her nose. Though she wanted nothing more than her own happily ever after, she was starting to realise that it came at the price of Raven ending up with quite the opposite.
Apple wanted to be able to promise her arch nemesis and frenemy that she was sure her ending would work out happily in it's own way too, but she couldn't quite bring herself to believe that lie, let alone Raven. "Promise me something, Raven. As an apology for what happened." Apple looked down at her and, a little cautiously given how this was a future evil Queen who was quite capable of doing terrible things to her, touched a hand to Raven's shoulder. "Promise me you won't let what's happened get to you. I've already forgiven you, so you'd better hurry up and do so too," she said, using her best commanding future ruler voice, though she spoke with a small, half hopeful smile.
((OOC: Sorry this took so long, between Prom and my internet dying on me I've rather failed to respond in time. Apologies))
((All is fine and no need to apologize even! I hope you had a great time during your prom.))
Raven listened to what the princess had to say without even budging or turning over to see her speaking. Although it looked very disrespectful for her part. Well what else can she do? She thought that everything is just a big mistake and everything will just go away after some time. She disregarded the fact that Apple and she have this true love thingy which was proven when she kissed the poisoned princess.
Apple said something about how Raven never wanted to hurt her- which is true, and what made Raven wince was the sentence she added to it. Hex and curses, who wants to get hurt or get poisoned!? This attitude of the princess is what worried Raven the most. Is she seriously willing to take up anything for her beloved destiny?
When she heard light footsteps, which obviously belongs to Apple, Raven couldn't help but sigh. Why can't Apple just cooperate with her plan and sleep. She shut both of her eyes close, "What? I will end up hated and hunted by mostly everybody or that I might end up like my mom?" she frankly added a, "Yes I am afraid." before she nodded her head and briefly looked away. She decided not to mention the fact that Apple would just let her rot somewhere after she obtained her happily ever after with her Prince Charming.
Then her roommate made her promise to forgive her own self, she finally decided to shift around and sit up then face Apple who reached out a cautious hand towards her. Cautiously. she noticed that the princess might have hesitated to make skin contact with her. It would pretty much be a lie to say that- that didn't bother her. "Mhm...." she made an agreeing sound, indicating that she agreed to promise Apple.
But the problem isn't that shallow. It's way deeper than that.
"You looked..." she paused and squeezed the hand that was resting on her shoulder before removing it away from her gently, "-very happy with Daring." she offered her a smile. Yes, Apple would indeed be happy with Daring. Because what Apple needs is a prince to kiss and save her from an eternal slumber and not an Evil Queen.
((^U^ Thank you, it was good, just took a lot of recovery lol >w<))
Though Apple did selfish very, very well, she couldn't help feeling sorry for Raven. When she got her newly guaranteed happily ever after, Raven was going to be stuck in her own idea of hell. It seemed very far off for the moment, surrounded by the safety of high school and and teenage drama. But the closer Apple got to becoming queen, the closer Raven came to destitution.
"I'll give you that it's not fair," Apple said sadly, and because Raven seemed like she needed it, Apple went to stroke her hair. It didn't seem like a thing to do to a future evil queen, but that wasn't the part Apple wanted to focus on right now. She squeezed Raven's hand back, smiling appreciatively at the compliment. "Thank you." She laughed, though it was not quite as spelltacular as usual. "We are destined after all; it would be pretty awkward if we didn't look good together."
She took compliments every day, so didn't get caught up in it, despite it being her fairytale daydream. Raven's mood was more important to her now. "Maybe we can find... some other way..." She mumbled quietly, very uncertain of the words coming out of her mouth. "I don't mean... I still want my fairytale ending, and I'll need you to do that. And I don't want to disappear; either of us to disappear. But maybe there's a way for it to all work out without you being hated." Apple gave her a hopeful smile. "You're an evil queen now and not everyone hates you. You rule the Rebels, and we're still friends, right?" She wasn't sure she and Raven had ever acknowledged their friendship aloud.
Still gently stroking Raven's hair, she exhaled slowly. Maybe it was time for a mood and subject change. Smiling brightly, she brought back the girlish cheer to her voice and looked down at Raven. "You'll have to tell me how you get your hair so soft." It was a little weak, but she hoped it would end the awkwardness between them. At least Raven had promised to out this all behind her. Apple just wished she didn't still feel sick in the base of her stomach, like she'd told an awful lie, though she had no idea what it was or why she felt this way.
"I'm sorry," she said, standing. "I should let you sleep, how rude of me."
She felt the urge to roll her eyes when Apple said it wasn't fair. Just how oblivious can this princess be, Raven wondered to herself. But then the blonde started stroking her hair and she fought the blush that was trying to crept up to her cheeks.
But it quickly went away when Apple replied about her and Daring being destined together, thus they must look good together, she swore she felt her stomach swirl with jealousy. 'Destined? He can't even wake you up.'she thought to herself before sighing, "The two of you are really meant for each other so I don't think it would matter whether you two look awkward or not. What matters is that....he loves you and you..love him back." she offered an assuring smile to the other girl but a voice in the back of her head keeps on whispering to her that she and Apple would look even better together. She once again fought the sudden wanting to smack her head upside down at the funny thought.
"That's what I'm doing actually; looking for a "some other way", Apple." the rebel explained with a big sigh just before she heard that word. Did Apple just refer to her as the evil queen. "I'm not the evil queen and I don't plan to be the evil queen!" she snapped before she took a deep breathe as her eyes never faltered to look away from the princess' attractive blue ones, "And if ever I did take up my mom's position then I will be hated because it's the Evil Queen's destiny to be hated just for Snow White...." she looked down, the corner of her lips turning downwards slightly before she muttered a small, "Sorry."
Yet the princess was kind enough to lift up the awkward and heavy atmosphere around them and change the subject, "Cerise recommended me a shampoo and it's totally wicked." she decided to just flow along with the princess, her half frown turning into a half smile. Raven wanted to get out of this suffocating tension so she just looked back at Apple and acted like she didn't snapped a few minutes ago, "Your hair is also spella great itself, it's soft, pretty and bouncy." the supposed-to-be-future evil queen complimented back. It was funny how their conversation went from heavy to a topic about soft hairs. Must be one of Apple's magic, easing heavy tensions she means.
But Raven did cocked an eyebrow upwards when Apple mentioned something about sleeping, "No- I really appreciated the fact that you checked up on me even though you were the one who got poisoned." she assured again and gave the other girl a genuine smile.
