The thing is... civilization has fallen.
Desperate parents give their children up to labs set up all across the country, feeling that it will be better than the disease and plagues and murders that have swept across the country. They are guaranteed meals, water and safety. They are drugged and experimented on day after day and have gained superpowers. They are used to are sent across the country as some sort of superheroes. Some of them fight crime. Some of them have gained inhuman intelligence and are helping combat the seemingly endless spread of disease and death. But all of them are soldiers. They have a short lifespan and go insane, but it's worth it right? These kids are helping save a fallen nation... America.
Imagine that two of them try and flee the Lab. Imagine that they have nothing and no one. Imagine that they fall in love.
