Epiphany ~ Described as a moment of sudden revelation

tumblr_p0p7hoVOAH1spoon4o1_1280.jpg
Slowly we made our way through the freshly fallen snow. Despite the hour of the night, people had already made their own tracks before us. The atmosphere around us was eerily quiet, the silence, deafening. It was almost like a scene from a horror film. The only sound that we could hear was the soft crunching of the snow beneath our boots and our slightly labored breathing, due to the cold air that was filling our lungs with each breath.
We paid no attention to our surroundings as we made our way through the snow.

I see now, that was our first mistake.

Boku No Hero Academia;
A fandom rp with a twist.
OC's will be a must.
If your OC is a villain, civilian, hero or otherwise is up to you.
Creating student OC's is also up to you if you'd like to or not.
Creating non student OC's will require them to either be a villain (adult or teenager), teacher, quirkless civilian or a civilian with a quirk (adult or teenager).

The setting for this RP is going to be something along the lines of "through the darkness, our unlikely heroes emerge".

Ten years after the so-called 'Doomsday' of 2125.
Looking back on that day, some have called it a blessing... To others, it is still, and always will be considered a tragedy. Finally, the never-ending mixing of quirks had taken a turn for the worst. One man had manifested a quirk so powerful, that even the pro hero, Deku; with the help of fellow pro heroes from his own original class at U.A, couldn't even come close to stopping him.

About a month after the original incident, high schools with any sort of hero program became rather large targets for the followers of this man. To them, it wasn't just about ridding the world of possible heroes to be. It was about eradicating the entire idea of becoming a hero. After they had broken into three different schools... and murdered forty-nine children; leaving the rest of each hero class they chose to attack; mutilated beyond recognizability, even by their own parents. There was a class action from parents and concerned civilians alike that pulled the remaining hero-courses appart, leaving behind shattered dreams of hundreds all around the world. The media often compiled with demands made of them, which further desecrated the very idea of becoming a hero.

As the presence of heroes vastly dwindled to nothing but small embers, occasionally flaring up with the wind; crime levels rose to an all time high. Desperate to spare themselves from these new dark times, people finally realized that it was time for them to call on the heroes that they abandoned.

Juno exited his classroom and walked into the hallway. The hallways used to be gleaming with students eager to be heroes and everyone was confident about being a hero. That’s not the case anymore. The hallways seemed desolate, few students walked and all seemed tense, as if waiting for an attack. Juno smiled and tried not to think about that fear. He didn't want the students thinking that he had that fear, and so he smiled and strutted confidently down the hall. He went and filled up his water bottle and casually watched all the students, he was hoping they would come up to him. He filled up his water bottle and walked back to his class and waited for someone to come talk to him.

The table shook as her mother slammed her hands down, "You aren't going! You can't!" She said, her voice cracking. Scarlett didn't look up from the acceptance letter. "You'll be killed, and I...I can't loose you, honey please." Her mother was practically begging at this point.

"Mom...if I'm going to be killed, I'd much rather it be trying to make a difference than to some random thug while walking home. They only leave you alone because you're preganat," the teen said, looking at her mother's stomach. 6 months, nearly 7. "I want to do this, I've wanted to do this for years, and sure, America may be safer right now, but you know that it wouldn't be for us. Mom, please don't stop me."

Scarlett watched as her mother sat down, defeated. Tears were welling in the older woman's eyes, but there was a soft smile on her face. Her daughter had always been headstrong, and she knew there wasn't anything she could actually do to stop her from going. The years had gone by so fast, and she could hardly believe the powerful young woman across from her was her daughter. Her smile grew as a few years rolled down her cheeks. "Well....in that case....give 'em hell shortcake."

"You know it mama."

~~~~~~~~
The number of students present made Scarlett uneasy. From the stories she had been told by her step father, the U.A was once a hotspot for future heros, so the fact she could walk down the halls without so much as bumping into another person was...well, it was odd. Scarlett ran a hand through her hair, sighing as she checked the number scrawled on her, hoping to match it to a room number. And after a good ten minutes of looking around, she finally found it. Walking in, she looked around. It was...empty. Well, except from who she assumed was the teacher. "Um...goodmorning," She said, giving the man a small wave while walking away from the door to find a seat. "Guess I'm the first one here? That's a first." DebyDowner DebyDowner
Juno sat down at his desk and put his head back nap for a little bit. Just as he was about to fall asleep he was awoken by one of his students. She walked and sat down at a desk. He didn’t hear what she said but he didn’t care and began talking. What’s up kid and welcome to UA, I just want you to know that this place is totally safe and cool AND fun so don’t be on edge, I personally promise I’ll try to protect you. Juno laughed and looked at his roster. He looked at his roster of kids and was taken back. This roster is so small, I’m guessing you’re scarlet. I’m so sorry that you won’t get to experience a class of 20 or more. FireMaiden FireMaiden
Nao breathes in, then out. Her eyes closed as she stands in front of the teachers lounge door. She should really go out there and welcome all the new freshmen, but she really doesn't know what to say in these situations. They aren't here for heroics anymore, not like she was when she was in school. She looks down at her paws, opening and closing them a few times, she hears her claws click together once or twice.
She lets out a huff and makes a face, her lips pulling into a grimace. 'I'm 23 years old, this is absolutely pathetic. They're just KIDS.' Nao tells
With a final look at the door, Nao brings a large paw up and tries to smooth out her always crazy hair while the other goes for the door handle. The door opens with a little more force than necessary and she stares for a moment before stepping out into the hall and around a few startled students. She tries to suppress the blush rising to her face, she didn't want to be flashy, but it's hard when you have giant hands and a little more strength than you know what to do with.
"What're you lookin' at?" Nao growls before turning on her heel and heading for her classroom.
Harue Minegashi
The car quaked as they traveled down the gravel roads, her body violently shaking side to side within her seat belt. Despite this, she held her phone tightly in her hand, scrolling through her gallery that had very few pictures in it. Blue nails stopped on a photo in the middle of the screen as she quickly tapped on the little square revealing a man a few years older than her. His hair was messy, strands of grey mingling with ebony locks that gave him an old man sort of vibe. Crows feet sat at the edge of his dull blue eyes emphasizing his age. Glancing downward, she was greeted with pearly white teeth with a slight gap separating his central incisors from one another. Harue stared blankly at the image until the car came to an abrupt stop in front of her destination, her mother calling out to her in an apathetic tone much like her own.
"Harue. We're here." she stated, the girl staring through her tinted window to see the shadow of the once renowned hero academy.
The sign was stained with rust, the once bright yellow now dulled to the point of looking almost white. Yep, this would be her life for the next three years, playing super hero in this gigantic dollhouse. She clicked out of her gallery, the man disappearing instantaneously as she shoved it into her jacket pocket. Harue sat still for a moment while her mother looked at her through the front mirror in the middle of the car. Was she having second thoughts about coming here? It's not as if she really aspired to be a hero anyway. It was just something she was capable of doing. Now that she was here though, her feelings didn't much change much. She thought that maybe being a hero wasn't something you did cause you could. Oh well. Sighing, she gave a small thumbs up to her mother who expression change only slightly in aura rather then appearance. The two weren't the most expressive people.
"Thanks for dropping me off. I'll be sure to call once I'm settled in." Harue assured, flashing her phone at her mother quickly before returning to her pocket.With that, her mother nodded and opened the trunk allowing her to retrieve a large purple suitcase. Once out of the car, she waved goodbye to her mother and set out through the rusted gates of the school.
She dragged along her suitcase into the school after coming to the realization that she hadn't known where the dorms were. Her best bet would be to ask a staff member or an upperclassman ... if she could find one that is. The halls were desolate as listened to the sound of the wheels scraping the floors. Walking for almost five minutes without bumping into anyone, she happened upon a large bear walking her way. She paused for a moment, her eyes glued to the large paws of the woman, or at least thought to be female.
"Cute." she said allowed, her eyes shining despite the lack of visible emotion on her face. "I wonder if it's squishy." she muttered, squeezing her hand around her bag handle awkwardly.
Startled by the voice in front of her Nao comes to a stop and looks at the person in front of her. She fights back a sneer at the mention of 'cute' and keeps somewhat of a neutral expression. She was anything but cute, she could probably snap this girl in half. (were they even a girl? she wasn't one to assume.) Again, she's flexing her hands at her sides, trying to reign in the anxious agitation she was feeling. A soft click when the metal in her gloves touches a zipper on her pants pockets drags her back from her brief reverie.
Nao looks down at the suitcase, then back to the student's face which is startlingly neutral. Is it because she looks grumpy? Is she making them uncomfortable? Nao clears her throat, opting to ignore the comment and not make a snarky reply. This is possibly one of her future students after all. She couldn't be going around scaring kids on the first day of school, that would get her fired so fast and she wanted this job so badly.
"You lost? The dorms aren't on this side of campus." Nao says motioning to the suitcase.
"I'm Ursa," she adds after a moment of silence. "I teach in the heroics department. I can get someone to show you where they are?" she offers out her hand with the introduction half expecting them to not return the handshake.
She was just...well, first impressions of this teacher weren't all that great. He was trying too hard, especially with the whole "nothing to be worried about" bit. And the guessing who she was, well, it was impressive but a bit odd. "Uh yeah...thats me," She mumbled, looking around the classroom for a moment, before back up to the front. "You know, me being on edge could be a good thing. It's human nature, part of our survival skills. If we weren't on edge, it would mean someone is seriously wrong with us," She paused, twirling a strand of hair around her index finger, "Besides, it's not like anyone here is completely helpless."
Juno squinted his eyes and smiled while keeping eye contact with the girl. She was right, she had that reason to be on edge. In a world like this, she seemed perfectly capable. She didn’t seem at all impressed by her teacher and he wasn’t keen on giving up the way he felt, if she wanted a fight she was gonna get one. Hey, look...I’m serious about this being a safe place. You’re being cautious and that’s a good strength to have but this isn’t a battlefield, this is a classroom. PLUS U.A. is basically a castle with a bunch of kick ass knights.... Juno got up still keeping eye contact and jumped on his chair rolling over to her desk. And I’m one of those kick ass knights.
She watched him, with a cocked eyebrow, confused and questioning if this was actually a teacher, or just a student pretending to be one. The rolling chair stunt was seriously making her thinking wasn't actually a teacher. But...who knows? She knew some pretty childish adults, though this guy didn't even look like an adult. "Life is a battlefield. You don't fight, or if you just aren't strong, and you'll be swallowed whole," She muttered. As much as she hates it, her father had managed to drill quiet a few of his ideologies into her, and while she didn't believe most of them, it was still something she thought about a lot. Scarlett couldn't help it really, and while sure, she would never act on anything he taught her, it's wasn't like he hadn't made an impact on her impressionable mind.
Anyway, after a few moments of awkward silence, she finally asked the burning question she had been wanting to. "Okay, okay, are you actually a teacher here?" She questioned, looking at the man with a somewhat judgemental stare. "You dont really seem old enough." She paused briefly, "Also, was I supposed to go to dorms before coming here? I came here first cause I didn't really bring anything with me."
Even though it took all their will, might and quirks to get him anywhere near U.A. this morning. He was still thankful for them. If it wasn't for them, he'd probably be dead right now. Letting out a small sigh, Raygen finally climbed out of the car that he had been sitting in for the last half an hour. After grabbing his two small bags and waving goodbye, he turned towards the massive gates of U.A.
Slinging one of his bags over his shoulder, carrying the other in his spare hand, he made his advance. He began towards what he thought was the main building of the school. Once he was actually inside the gates, he could tell just how hard the recent massacres had hit this industry. The pathways were cracked and parts of the cement had been broken off in some places. The buildings looked slightly run down as their paint had faded. You could tell that they were trying to keep up with it's deterioration, but they just didn't have the proper funds behind them...
Eventually, Raygen found himself at the dorms. Which was a big relief for him. The boy held his breath as he walked inside the building, not knowing what to expect. Bracing himself, he looked around quietly, finding it far more empty than he expected.
Bianca Simmons
Interaction(s)
Little Shenanigans Little Shenanigans
Bianca was, understandably, a ball of anxiety right when she arrived at the school. Her dad had driven her, as it was his idea for her to go, while her mom supported her via text. Her dad had already said his goodbyes and drove off. She stood just outside the gates, her phone trembling in her claw fingers; she was already feeling tears prickling the backs of her eyes, considering how stressed she ended up making herself. This place, U.A.... It had been targeted before. It would be easy to target again, if the teachers weren't careful... And, even if the students made it through the course safely... She couldn't guarantee she'd even end up successfully becoming a hero... The worries started becoming overwhelming.
However, she pushed those worries down and swallowed. Now wasn't really the time for self-doubt. She was here, the place that could make or break her dreams. How she behaved would ultimately determine whether she was worthy of being a hero. And so, with that thought in mind, she took a step towards the gates and padded on, trying to keep the determination she had going. Unfortunately, it didn't last long, as she realized she was entirely lost and probably looked idiotic, despite the sparse student population. Running the claws on the tips of her fingers through the fuzz jutting out of her jacket's collar, Bianca hastily made sure that it wasn't standing on end. That would look stupid if it were... But what if people judged her appearance anyway, no matter how much she tried to maintain it..? Sighing, she attempted to dismiss the thought and wandered around.
Caught up in her worrying to the point of ignorance, she almost ran into someone. However, they seemed occupied with their own pursuits and ended up walking into a nearby building without so much as a glance at her. He looked like he sort of knew what he was doing... Maybe she should talk to him? Finding some amount of strength inside, she followed him in and tugged on his shirt. "Uh... E-excuse me? Sorry for being a bother, but... I really have no idea where I'm going, and I was wondering if I could get a little help... I'm a, uh, first year, you see, and... I'm just looking for the dorms..." she sputtered on, clearly lost and confused, her bags tucked close to her as if she were trying to garner reassurance from them. From home.
Then, realization seemed to dawn on her face. "Wait, unless... You're a first year too..? Are you confused like me? I'm so sorry for assuming that you weren't if you are, I just had no one else to turn to, and I don't know what else to do, and-" She cut herself off with a sigh. "I... Yeah. I just need some help, really..." Bianca confessed, realizing she probably looked like a mess while wringing her hands in concern. She would've been willing to apologize a thousand times more, but that probably would've been bothersome for him... Oh, what to do? She guessed she could only wait for a response, feeling bad for approaching the boy in such a messy manner...
(I'll format this later I'm on my phone rn)
Raygen felt something tug on his shirt. Or rather, someone. He turned around, nope, it was something. He shook his head slightly as he saw her mouth move. He started slowly, first he pointed to his ears to signal that he couldn't hear her. Then he held out his hand to her, motioning to write out the letters on his hand.
He watched her quietly as she still rambled on, realizing she was apologizing for something, but he didnt understand what she was apologizing for. He tilted his head, his facial expressions still neutral.
Juno laughed at the girls comment. Uhhhh of course I’m a teacher, it’s my first year teaching so that’s why I look so young and also answering your question, you should probably go to the dorms, that’s where everyone is and you probably don’t wanna start off with no friends, this is high school remember that. Juno got up quick. now shoo and go make some friends. Juno got the girl up and slowly pushed her out of the classroom to the dorms where there were a bunch of students. FireMaiden FireMaiden
The day had finally come. From this day forward, he would be living for those around him. Living to ensure the safety of the world. It would be a difficult task. After all, he was nowhere near prepared for whatever responsibilities would be coming his way. However, neither were the students. He needed to have a calm approach to everything. He needed to ensure that these students would have all the tools they needed to make it in this world. It felt strange having put on this costume again. Proclaiming the previous glory he had. He remembered the suit had reeked of booze and sweat. He had not worn it since that fatal day. However, things were different now. He had a new cleaner suit prepared for the difficulties of the day. He was certain to prove to himself and others that he was a new man. A better man. His hand gripped the handle to his office. The silver clicker in his right palm immediately going into a small frenzy. The air around him becoming a bit thin. He had gotten quite the image of his new work station. It seemed pretty basic. Desk, chair, computer, file cabinets, intercom, and chairs in case he needed to speak to a student or faculty member. He placed bag down and drew back the curtain lightly. The sunshine coating his skin. He could feel it.The warm aray of the students. Their numbers were few but their hearts were full. Fuller than his own. He began to sit at his desk resting his finger against the intercom. The future began now. "Best of morning to you UA. This is your principal Cloud9 speaking. Today's weather forecast calls for mid 90's and clear skies. A beautiful sunny day with a slight chance of showers during the evening hours. Allow me to be the first to welcome you to your future. I look forward to meeting each and everyone of you. Please, direct yourselves to the Auditorium by 9:30 for you're welcome ceremony once you have settled into your dorms. There will be refreshments and opportunities to speak with your classmates and teachers. Although times may seem hard, we here at UA ensure that your education and safety come first. Harue Minegashi
The bear spoke to her. Harue felt a little thump in her chest, feeling slight astonishment before coming to the realization that it was a person who happen to look like a bear. Probably having something to do with their quirk. She forgot that mutant quirks came in many different forms, only remembering the rather drastic and aesthetically unappealing ones. A young man with a triangular head coming to mind, her neighbor about her age. How unfair. Maybe she'd marry someone with such an adorable looking quirk and pray that their child would take after her spouse. That'd be nice. Losing herself in her thoughts, she snapped out of her daze and returned to face the bear who seemed rather unamused by being called cute. Had she been rude again? Harue hadn't meant to, but the bear spoke before she could get a word of apology out. Tilting her head, she remembered her suitcase and the fact she was now in a hero academy. How she could have forgotten so quickly was one of the many wonders of Harue's mind. She scratched her temple, her expression as blank as ever.
"Uhm, yes. I do believe that I am lost." she answered.
So the dorms weren't near here huh? How tragic. She let out a little sigh of annoyance hoping the dorm wasn't too far from the academy. If that were the case then it would spell out horrible mornings and noisy alarm clocks that she just didn't want to deal with. The bear did say side though, insinuating that it was quite a ways from campus. She felt like internally crying, but kept her cool demeanor.
"Nice to meet you Ursa-sensei." she bowed before continuing," thank you for your assistance." she spoke in an apathetic tone. Looking at her soon to be professor, she saw her extend her gloved paws out to her. Her heart thumped again, although her excitement didn't show on her outward appearance. Nonchalantly, she extended her own hand out and shook it, gently squeezing the area she thought to be her paw pads.
"Oh. I forgot." she mumbled.
"I'm Minegashi Harue, year one student." she announced, as her mind raced the longer they held hands. Squishy. Squishy squishy.
'Harue Minegashi, huh?' Nao thinks. She tries to mentally go through her class roster but she's drawing a blank. Emabarrassing. It's a surprise to Nao when Harue takes her hand, she closes her exponentially bigger hand around the student's and gives it a good shake. To her credit she only makes a small, weird, choking noise when Harue squeezes her paw pads. She honestly should be used to people doing this when they shake her hand, it's not like most people could fit their hand around hers. But why is it always the paw pads?
The repeated squishing was..... Not something Nao was used to though. Her shoulders slump and she tries not to look defeated.
She looks down at their hands, then back at Harue, who seemed to be almost glowing? (Despite her expression not changing.) "Nice to meet you." Nao says. She looks around to see that the students have cleared out of the hallways at the principals announcement. Sighing she opens up her hand and pulls away. 'That handshake was probably the longest one in my entire life' she thinks.
"Yeah, it's a little confusing since this place is big." She says looking at a clock in the hallway. "I've got time before the opening ceremony, I can show you where they are?" Nao mumbles and scratches at the back of her head. "Or at least until you think you can find your own way?"
Even though he claimed to be a teacher...she still wasn't entirely sure she believed him. Nevertheless, he was pretty quick about getting he out of his classroom. Of course, as soon as he got his hands off her, She huffed, and turned around to give him a piece of her mind. "Don't go putting you hands all over and underage girl like that, makes you look like a total creep," She told him sternly, before crossing her arms with a huff. She stayed like that for a few moments, before her arms dropped to her sidr, and she readjusted her school bag. Which again, was the only thing she brought. Her stepfather was going to bring her the things she wrote down for him, because she hadn't had the time to pack. Well, she did....but Scarlett liked to procrastinate. And so ended up with no time to actually bring anything.
With another huff, she turnned on her heel, beginning her walk down the hall. This school sure had seen better days, and while she knew that they were doing her best...it didn't look like a hero school. Her mom told her about the U.A before. When Scarlett first wanted to be a hero, but those stories were from years ago. It was kinda stupid to expect the same treatment. And the class sizes must be tiny. There weren't many people around, the school massacres did their job in striking fear into the hearts of practically everyone. Lost in thought, Scarlett barely managed to stop herself from bumping into someone.
"Oh...sorry," She muttered, taking a small side step, before looking up at the woman. Or, women rather. One was...well, She looked familiar, despite the whole bear thing. Or maybe, the bear thing was why she looked familiar? Oooo, maybe she was an actual pro hero, unlike that fake back in the classroom. Anyway, the girl was probably another student, so maybe Scarlett could introduce herself? Nah, not at the moment. "Hey, do either of you know where the dorms are?" She asked, looking between the two of them.
Little Shenanigans Little Shenanigans
Having been so caught up in her worrying and apologizing, she failed to notice the boy's gestures. That was, until, he stared at her, and a long, awkward silence ensued. She felt terribly embarrassed as it went on, but upon looking towards his face and noticing his blank look, she felt even more so. "Oh..." Was her simple response, feeling her face heat up. "I can't believe I didn't realize that..." Bianca whispered to herself, feeling some shame in her unobservant nature... He probably thought she was incredibly incompetent... Feeling some tears come on, she tried blinking them away quickly. No, that would make you look even worse... she thought, trying to calm down.
Glancing up at him again, she rummaged around in her bag, grabbing a spare notebook, and pencil. Quickly, she flipped it open, wrote down a few words, and then showed him the page. "Do you know where the dorms are?" It read simply, compacting her previous question into a much easier to understand form. She hoped that her handwriting wasn't too messy, as she knew only one of her hands could write even remotely well. The rest were pretty much inept at writing. Realizing he may not want to talk, she handed him the notebook in case he needed it. It was his choice of course, he could even ignore her if he wanted... Although she knew that if he did that, holding back her tears would become a bit more difficult...
Suddenly, her train of thought was interrupted by a booming voice. Her antennae twitched as the voice continued over the speakers, giving a speech of some kind. The Principal..? Looking toward the nearest speaker, Bianca tapped the guy next to her and pointed at it to see if maybe he would want to listen. She experienced some amount of inspiration from the voice over the speakers, even though it was deflated as soon as she remembered her predicament with the dorms... If she was to get 'settled in', she was going to need to locate them. If the guy she had stumbled upon didn't know where the dorms were, they might both be late, which would be a rather unfortunate situation...
Oh, bother, she was worrying herself all over again...
But... Everything should turn out fine in the end, right..?
JOBIN HISHIKAWA |CLOUD9
Jobin stood from his desk and began to dust himself off. There. His first and easiest task as principal had been completed. After a bit of unpacking and tending to his office, he took a hold of his clicker and began to make his way out the door. He might as well make his way to the Auditorium to assist in preparing for the opening ceremony. As he walked through the halls, a faint back wind could be felt. A common aspect of his abilities. Many considered it a bit of an ominous wind while others felt it as inviting. It was sweetly scented giving off the sweetest smells of spring; fresh lavender. His clicker going off every now and again to ensure he didn't run into anything. His head lifted slightly as he sensed three individuals in the hallway. Two in which were students and another a teacher. His approached giving a few more clicks for a closer look. Oh. "Good morning ladies. I hope you are finding things to your liking." He gave a small nod to Nao; a woman he had found himself working alongside in the past. It was always good to see old companions. "Ursa. It's a pleasure to finally meet again." As he listened to the girls words, he began to lift his arm lightly pointing in the direction of two large sets of doors. "Those doors there lead to the courtyard. Follow the brick path and the girls dorm is to the left of the UA fountain. Ms. Ursa will be so kind as to show you there. Friendly reminder that the welcoming ceremony will be in an hour. So please do not feel the need to rush. Have a look around."
Juno closed the door hastily not before yelling SORRY SCARLETT and went back to his desk. He quickly opened his laptop and brought up his email. Dear principal, I’m quitting. He laughed and quickly deleted the email as he needed this job. Juno glanced at the clock and noticed he had quite a bit of time to spare. I probably should help someone. He shut his laptop and exited the room, walking down random halls and trying to help students. As he was walking he came upon the hall with Scarlett, the principal, and two others that he didn’t know. One looked like a student, the other looked like a pink bear but Juno was pretty sure she was a teacher or at least he thought. Juno walked up as the principal had finished talking. Hey Jobin could I get a word with you after you’re done, he said quietly.
