so was there a decision reached on spells?
Welp, for Nate at least. I don't see a problem if everyone follows the system they feel comfortable with. Since I gave Nate no proficiency with any melee weapon, he's basically a "full mage" so I thought he needed more than 3 or 4 daily spells. So yeah, I gave him 100 mana, and each spell has a cost. I'll manage my spells like this

That's a really good idea. I've been winging it. Pulled some stuff from different RPGs I found online.

Seeing as this is the first fight, we might find that my system needs some tweaks, in the mana costs or else, but I think it's quite fair as it is, adding the fact that most his spells also need a cast time

Yeah well, having no D&D or pathfinder experience, I decided to think " What would Skyrim do" basically xD
Except a mana regen would be a bit too op for this, of course.

I will probably add that maintaining his current ice mist for more than 5 minutes or so would require more mana. But yeah the general rules are such so far: Each spell has a cost. Disrupted spells still cost half, and to cast a spell twice, the second time will cost half more too.

...I... like maths

The rock was a surprise. If it had hit anything other than the side of his face, the Beast probably wouldn't have even noticed it in its preoccupation with its latest victim. It struck him with a harmless THUD that caused him to stop shaking the corpse with gore dripping from his muzzle and look up at the orc as if she had walked up and tapped him on the shoulder. She didn't look like much, but he recognized the gesture as an attempt at a challenge- and he wasn't about to pass that up. In its heightened state of being on the hunt, the Beast was keenly aware of the multiple creatures that were approaching it, but it didn't care. The more the merrier. In fact, a nightmarish grin formed around the razor-sharp teeth in his mouth as he squared up with the orc in preparation to charge.

The fact that corpses shouldn't be capable of moving or talking didn't register to the Beast, but as the bodies surrounding began to move and cling to him, they did manage to steal a moment of distraction. He gave an annoyed snort before ripping them apart as if swatting away a bug. The sticky stuff on his back was beginning to harden, but that too proved to be mostly just an annoyance as he reared up on his hind legs and shattered the substance with a roar toward the full moon. As the seconds passed, the wound in his side was now almost completely healed over.

Impatient to kill, the Beast charged its challenger, his speed only slightly affected by the mist forming in the air. Each panted exhale formed a cloud of steam with his breath in the cold as he set his sights on the she-orc, launching himself at her to tackle her to the ground with open jaws aimed for her throat.

Even in the full moonlight, the dull metal of the band around the Beast's neck was almost impossible to see beneath his coarse fur and coat of fresh blood. But to those who were capable of sensing it, its powerful magic would stand out like a radiant light in the darkness.

@Ace Cream

Sorry it took me so long, but I've been pointed out to the fact that my ice mist was a bit unfair, so I tweaked it. It's not an effect that strengthens over time anymore, it'll just keep freezing so long as you stay in the area, and only for a minute or so

Re-posting order so it doesn't get lost, and everyone has a chance to see it.

Thanks again for the suggestion to let me have an extra post in the turn order- its going to make a huge difference.

Currently on Ace.

Yhmera Yhmera In case it needs to be said: you are welcome to use creative license with Koran's attack. You're welcome to completely dodge, but even if you let him tackle her or knock her down it doesn't mean she has to take significant damage. Just don't let him actually lock his jaw on her throat- that might be fatal ;)

the problem here is that squee will get another turn before Yhmera, though i think it likely one of the next 3 attacks should be able to redirect or knock him off of her.

Question? What's going to happen with the orc? You are going to act again before she gets a chance to react. How is that going to work?

we wait to see if someone else in the turn order does something to interfere, if not we mess with the turn order a bit to let her go before werewolf's next turn

Squee Squee so since you said she would have the chance to dodge, what do the next 3-4 people see in this scene. is wolfy currently charging the orc, planning to leap on her, or like literally mid air jump for the next few responses?

You are wise to the ways of RP combat! Another idea I had was that Yhmera could tell me what she will allow to hit OOC if that helps resolve turn order a little.
