Emergency Broadcast
[
[
It started out of nowhere. Or so it seemed. The authorities kept it secret, hoping to contain it. They failed. Within a day it had spread throughout Indiana, within a week it had infected the USA. Borders were closed off but the quarantines didn't work. Nothing stopped it from spreading. It was too contagious. Any of the infected's bodily fluids could infect you too. And so within a week the world you had known came crashing down. It was as simple as that. Survival was key. No one cares about education, work or money. There wasn't anyone really left to care about that stuff anyway. Survivors were few. Some got infected and overcame it. It became known that they were immune. Maybe if there were enough scientists and doctors left a cure could be found? However, the immune were few, some believe they're just a legend told to keep people's hopes up. Most just avoided infection altogether. The dead now rule. It's black and white really. Humans are no longer top of the food chain.
You were at home when the broadcast came on, or maybe you were out and called home by panicked loved ones. Either way schools closed, stores were ransacked, no one left their houses. At least not until it became absolutely necessary.

Background:
Gael was at his house when news of the infection had reached him, but unfortunately it was minutes before the zombies had gotten to his village. His whole family had gotten together to celebrate Gael's graduation from college. He was going to be an architect. The infected broke into the house, infecting his parents with the disease. Gael's eldest brother fought off the infected who had broken into the house, and unfortunately had to kill their parents to put them out of the pain of the infection. Gael and his other sibling also took to defending the house and collecting supplies for their escape, but after a while of fighting, they were tired and Gael's eldest brother was near exhaustion. He told them to run to the nearest settlement 5 miles away, and Gael and his sibling ran out of there house and away from the village Gael had lived in like fugitives outrunning an army.
They found the nearest settlement in ruins, and filled with what they now called zombies. The trio decided to go to a nearby forest and set up a sleeping area in the trees. Through a few days of hard work, they had managed to set up a makeshift platform to put their tent on and look out points for the people keeping watch. They were all exhausted by this point, and decided to spend the next day resting in their lookout points. They spent the next two weeks there until their food had become rationed and then became scarce, making them look for a bigger settlement, leaving their tent and a note in it, saying, "To those reading this, we're gone, and not coming back. We'd advise you to stay here for two to two and a half weeks maximum before moving on. The next big settlement is about 25 miles away from here." They signed it the guard trio. The code names they took on were Knight for Gael, Warrior for his brother, and Defender for his sister.
About half a year later, the guard trio were in a survivor group in a hideout. Defender was lost to a mission, unknown whether she's still alive, infected, or dead. A person who knew how to use the metal shop had come in, and was setting up. He said the price for weapons were to bring him materials and promise he got food for his work. Everyone gladly accepted him as a part of the group. Time was getting hard to keep track of. Did it even matter anymore?
A month later, the zombies breached the hideout and the group was forced to flee. It was about 2 month before present time. Warrior went to go search for Defender, and had sent notes with various survivors traveling in Knight's direction. A half a week before present is when Knight, or Gael, got the last message from his brother saying he was find, and maybe had a lead on Defender! He fell asleep with the first warm feelings he had in his heart for months.
Personality: There are two sides to Gael, in or out of the hideout. While he's in a hideout, Gael is calm, can think rationally, and be friendly. However, outside of a hideout, Gael is might seem serious, but he's actually really nervous, and it may lead to him coming across as threatening or, again, serious. He still is mostly able to think rationally, but his nervousness somewhat clouds his though some of the time. He also carries guilt about his brother being infected and parents being dead. He's an okay shot with his colt, but where he really shines in combat is with his halberd.
Immunity: Nope
Weapons and how they got them: A Halberd, with semi good craftsmanship. An alloy of a lot of metals covers it. Made of a double-edged foot long knife on the end, an axe-head a little ways down, and a wooden tool handle keeping it together. It was dipped in an alloy of metal to reinforce the durability.
How obtained: At Gael’s old hideout, there was a survivor who could use the metal shop. They had to bring materials to him for him to forge the weapons, which all happened within a week, before the infected took notice and invaded the hideout, giving each person one weapon. There are still a few there, for any who would dare go back.
Colt 1911-22 Pistol with a few clips of ammo (secondary weapon)
How Obtained: Gael raised an empty gun store and found this to his liking.
Other Equipment: Whetstones, rations, canteen with water, 5 smoke and 5 flash grenades, gloves, phone (dead), maps

A sweet but spoiled valley girl type. Living in a mansion, waited on by servants, and flaunting her wealth with fashion, she's the undisputed queen of her High School. Jenny is also tough and clever, like her father. Jenny convinces two of her teachers that each is a secret admirer of the other, negotiating her way from a C+ average to an A- average. Vain and spoiled, but ultimately well-meaning. While Jenny can often be insipid and narcissistic, she also manages to display true empathy, kindness and generosity. As she explains it: “It’s like that book I read in the ninth grade that said ‘Tis a far, far better thing doing stuff for other people.’” Jenny is totally obsessed with her own appearance and is highly selective when it comes to her wardrobe. She prides herself on having the best taste out of everyone she knows. She once asked a poorly dressed peer, “Do you prefer ‘fashion victim’ or ‘ensemble-y challenged?’”
loyal yet mischievous. Jenny is extremely devoted to others but can be quite stubborn and needy.
Impulsive, fearless, and effortlessly charming. The word “consequence” doesn’t exist in Jennie's vocabulary. No matter how insane they are, she follows her whims with little concern for social graces or even laws. But she’s so vibrant, extroverted, and carefree it’s easy to get mesmerized by her captivating spell.

.Status of Kin.
Father; unknown
Mother; died when Jenny was youngName: Jamison Davis
Nickname: Jamie
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Panromantic
Personality: It doesn't help much that Jamie was what you would call a nervous wreck before the apocalypse, now he’s even more on edge. His alertness may come in handy some ways but can also be his downfall as it causes him to be forgetful at times. Otherwise eager to please and looks for assurance, he’s more of a follower than a leader. He’s almost useless in combat but knows quite a bit about medical related stuff. He has no knowledge of guns or how to shoot one.
Immunity: No
Weapons and how they got them: axe, extremely lucky find while raiding a sporting goods store.
Other Equipment: Medium sized school backpack, Makeshift medical kit (contains cotton balls, half used roll of gauze, a couple antiseptic towelettes, almost empty bottle of alcohol, a couple antibiotics and a small bottle of ibuprofen), Crank powered flashlight/radio combo, small box of matches, reusable water bottle(full), roll of duct tape.

Eloise Davis(twin sister)- Alive, location unknown
Logan Davis(Father)- Alive, location unknown
Other: Scraggly-eyed Gecko
Nickname: None yet
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Questioning
Personality: Serah is a sweetheart, but she isn't the most socially adept. She makes the effort of course; an awkward smile and pat on the shoulder for comfort, some shyly offered rations, a quiet nudge in the right direction if you're lost. The past year has taken a lot out of her but she tries to stay positive. Well... As positive as she can be, considering the state of the world. She's smarter than she looks.
Background: It was 2:43 AM. The infection hit her city in the dead of night like a truck, chomping silently through the neighbourhood faster than anyone could call for help. The back door smashed open and suddenly Serah and her mother were running through burning streets, dodging monsters and car wrecks. They made it free of the city but the outskirts held no safety, and her mother was shot by an officer who thought her panicked state was the work of the infection. Serah, once frisked for bites, was shoved on a truck and shipped off towards the developing quarantine, but the truck never made it. A herd broke through the checkpoint out of the city and the officers were forced to flee, abandoning the vehicle and the citizens loaded into the back. Serah barely escaped with a group of five in tow, but one had been bitten on the way. You can imagine how that went.
Eventually she ended up alone, and alone she stayed.

Name: Logan Orme
Nickname: Scout
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Pansexual
Appearance: View attachment 391619
Background: Logan was always the happy, weird kid. She lived in a small house with her mother and her mother's boyfriend. She went to school like normal kids, had a pet dog and two older sisters. She didn't have a swarm of friends, people found her too odd, but still they knew her and liked having her around occasionally. She was somewhat of a party animal and despite people thinking her too weird she was always invited to the latest party. She didn't exactly like staying at home and so attended as many as possible. Her grades were good and she wasn't athletically inclined. In fact she was more of a clutz with a wild temper.
Personality: Since, you know, the end of the world, Logan's been much more reserved, closed off. She doesn't like the company of others and much prefers her solitude. Her wild temper and sarcasm still exists but otherwise she's completely opposite of who she was. She has a good head on her and has an ability to move silently, meaning she can move quickly and efficiently, making her a good scout. Hence the nickname.
Immunity: She's immune. Found out when her mother turned and she got a mouthful of her blood. She was ill for a few days and spent it locked up in her room.
Weapons and how they got them: Hatchet-found it in her shed. Her mother brought it when she decided she loved camping, they never used it.
Handgun. Found it on a dead cop
