Emerald Metal

I was reading the Creatures of the wyld, and when you read about making items from emerald metal, it doesnt say if the weapon made from this material can strike immaterial spirits, i am assuming it can because on the bear it could. Is my assumption wrong?

Say what? Emerald metal? Have I completely forgot CotW? It was a while since I read it, I admit, but where does it talk about emerald metal? And what bear?

um its in the Chapter on the East. And the creature is called the Bearkiller. It was supposedly twisted by glamour and made to be like a spirit killing machine. pretty sick actually.

Creatures of the Wyld - Web Enhancement, Chapter 2, Bear-Killers.

And I would say yes, a weapon made from the Emerald Metal of the claws would be able to damage unmanifested spirits, as the book says it is a power of the metal and not of a power manifested into the bear-killers.

So, how would one alter the stats on a sword made from Emerald Metal?

As well as a possible artifact level for a Daiklave made from it?

man i have no idea how someone would go about doing that, i guess you should look at a regular dagger vs. a emerald metal dagger and see where it was given bonuses. Then use the difference and give it to a sword i suppose. The craziest i ever got with a daiklaive was trying to make one outta Adamant which i made a post about somewhere on this forum. I thought Daiklaives had to be made out of a MM. ( seriously i am not a noob, i am just not well read cus i dont get to play alot.  I have been playing for 4 years but only when given a chance cus my friends live so far from me)

All the MM when used on weapons can strike immaterialized spirits right?
Wrong. None of them can, unless otherwise noted.

That woul be a big, resounding NO.

It would be interesting if it were true.

This inspired me to write up a heroic mortal/Thaumaturge Spirit hunter. Imagine he has a sacred Emerald Metal blade ( i am assuming the metal sorta looks like the Green Destiny) and would never use it on humans for it would be considered an abomination to do so, the blade is only whipped out on spirit foes. For everyone else, they get to taste frog crotches. Seemes like it would give a hero an edge to have an artifact that they can use. Also remove one of the heros eyes and give him a quicksilver one so that he can view immaterialized spirits... my mind is like a laser no? Maybe i should write him up and submit him.

Shut your mouth you dreadlocked freak!

( i tried getting them and like i found out in the process that the not washing your hear rumor was incorrect... so now i have an intense hatred with those who can wear  dreadlocks cus they learned sooner then i did that you do have to wash your hair.)

This reminds me of Orpheus, for some reason... I always wanted to glue Ghostshots on my character's fist of justice and smack spectres with bare hands. The ST said no. Lame.

So' date=' how would one alter the stats on a sword made from Emerald Metal?[/quote']
A Emerald Metal Dagger is +2L to damage, +2 to Defense from a normal dagger.  I guess this can be added on as a normal MM (this is the best bonus I've seen).

As well as a possible artifact level for a Daiklave made from it?
EM is rating it as an automatic level 2 Artifact for a common weapon or 3 for a Daiklave.

Any more experienced, less neurotic opinions on an Artifact rating for a weapon made from it?

That or what book do I look in to create it?

Why? Just say it acts like a Magical Material mechanics wise. Some people thinks even Adamant is not important/significant/whatever enough to qualify to be a Magical Material.

Why does the sun rise? Why do the stars shine at night? What does the other 90% of your brain do? These are many of the things that puzzle and plague man kind. We do not and will never know the answers. This makes us want them all the more. You shouldn't ask me why i should make it into an MM, you should say...YOUR BRILLIANT IRVING. For coming up with something that no one has ever thought about before. Your fuckin revolutionary.

We know why the sun rises.

We know why the stars shine at night (we even know why they flicker).

Just because we do not currently have the knowledge doesn't mean we cannot gain it.

uh... no we dont know that stuff. You think you know because thats what the "man" tells you. Unless you are like a scientist who knows the truth we will forever be clueless about anything that we dont experience or learn about ourselves. Like, the Earth could be flat? How do i know this? Because in photos  you only see one side of it at any time.  Hell they could just be photoshopped pictures of the moon with a buncha trees and continents added.

Did the moon landing occur, possibly... Hell they re-inacted it to prove that the moon landing actually occured. Their Reinactment was a success it looked like a moon landing... problem. it was reinacted on earth which shot the whole... yeah it was done on the moon as proven here. It showed it could be redone on earth.

Logically speaking, it's not possible to be 100% certain of everything. (To be certain you need all possible relevant information, which you may be missing and not know it... so you need to already know everything to be certain of anything.)

However, while we can't be certain, we can damn well acknowledge that something's really, really likely. Which is how I function and it works so far.

I mean, if you followed your line of argument, you'd end up abandoning all knowledge because of it's unreliability, and so you'd be paralysed.

knowledge = power, therefore 0(knowledge) = 0(power)

No i believe that knowledge is power. I am just saying that we ourselves dont known for a fact that what we study in school is true or not. Why because we are not astronauts or deep sea explorers.  We dont get to see or experience what they do and we probably will not in our life times.
