Chronos, the Titan of Time, broke out from his prison in Tartarus. Seeking revenge for his son's betrayal, Chronos targeted the House of Hades and froze all within its great hall. Hades, and his queen Persephone, were trapped as time stood still. Others who had the misfortune of dwelling in the house upon the time of Chronos' attack suffered the same unfortunate fate.
With the first of his treacherous sons dealt with, Chronos turned his sights on Olympus and began his siege. His army, monsters and demons of the Underworld, fought in his name. The war against Zeus was slow, steady, and calculating. Chronos had many years to think of how to tear his son down from his throne. The Olympians fought well against the Titan, but suffered the casualties of war and time as any mortal.
As the Titan of Time waged his war, the Underworld erupted into chaos. Souls are no longer tended to, prisoners under no careful eye. There was no law or order.
As it became clear that a full frontal assault would not defeat Chronos alone, the Goddess of Wisdom sought out the aid of others. Hecate, Titan Goddess of the Witchcraft, had not been trapped in Hall of Hades. She remained hidden in the Crossroads and gathered those who would require her protection. Athena and Hecate agreed that they could hide no longer.
Heracles, hero and son of Zeus, was recruited to infiltrate the Underworld. He was to be guided by Hermes, God of Swiftness. Although he was no stranger to the Underworld, he alone did not know Hades' realm as they required. Hecate offered Thanatos, or Death, to aid them.
Meanwhile, in the Underworld, a peculiar group of souls sought their freedom in the midst of chaos. Without a guide, however, they found themselves unable to cross the threshold back into the mortal world. Unknown to these souls, the Fates had other plans for them.

Roles
Roleplayers must be 18+
Queer, BIPOC friendly roleplay.
Discord ooc required for plotting and communication.
9 roles are not first come, first serve. App process before CS.
We will use illustrated, semi-realistic art. AI is strongly discouraged, but exceptions will be made for BIPOC face claims. Alternatives will be offered if possible.
The roleplay is inspired by Hades and Greek mythology. Knowledge of the game is not required, but some light research into the Greek deities and myths mentioned is encouraged.
Plotting and communication are key. The roleplay will have a small cast of nine, with one character per roleplayer unless doubling becomes necessary, so everyone is expected to plot with each other. We are looking for friendships, rivalries, enemies, and other platonic relationships. This roleplay will not be suitable for anyone who strongly prioritizes romance and shipping.
We will use a turn-based, or "waterfall" style of posting. Most scenes will consist of small groups, or one on one posting. You will have an individual deadline of seven days for groups of two and five days for groups of three or more once it is your turn to post. We will have a channel for absence notices, please keep us informed so we can adjust posting orders. Consistent late or missed posts will result in a drop.
All characters have their own myths in Greek mythology, but we encourage you to build off these stories to create a new perspective. The entire cast will engage in combat, although some of them did not learn how to fight until their time in the Underworld. Each character will be assigned a boon that is gifted to them by the Olympians, or other minor gods, in order to aid them throughout the story. Combat will involve dice rolls and plotting. Our goal is to keep it simple, easy, and enjoyable.
Roles are not first come, first serve. The app will focus on your interpretation of the myth and how their personality will fit into the story. If your app is accepted, you will have five days to complete your CS. We will not have a strong emphasis on backstories as the myth covers the general premise of each character.
