Eldagusto Note:  Okay I just got my labtop back from the labtop smiths.  I am supposed to be cleaning and preparing to move on Sunday to the dorms but I just have to formulate the bare bones of this Topic I wish to start.  I have wanted to place my thoughts on this before the Book on Yu Shan comes out.  It is thoughts that are much more optimistic then I usually see on the forums.  Maybe the Sun and the Moon and the Stars are actually virtuous and worthy Gods.  I think they are reasonable notions.  I have wanted to start this topic even before I read the Games of Divinity about 8 or 9 months ago or so.  I just never found the time.  I finally decide to make a thread about my Mushroom King Octavian theory so I figured I ought not to procrastinate any further!  So without further ado-do I will present this thread to the forums I find Auspicious!

Eldagusto’s Notions on the Games of Divinity

Now this will be about how I perceive the Nature of the Celestines and the Games of Divinity.  Everyone always jokes that the Games of Divinity are Super Crack of World of Warcraft proportions.  As we know, the Great Maker Autocthon forged the Games of Divinity for his fellows the Primordials.  They played the Games of Divinity for a timeless age in the Great City of Heaven Yu-Shan.  This is was the most Supremely Resplendent game ever to be made.  Such a feat is possible for those who defined definition.  Much, if not most, of their expansive attention was paid to playing the Games of Divinity.

The Celestial Incarnae, Luna, and their get revolted and usurped Yu-Shan from the Primordials with the Patronage of the Primordials Gaia, especially from her Souls the 5 Elemental Dragons, Autocthon, and their chosen of Creation the Dragon Kings, Mountain Folk, and most of all the Exalted.  The forces of their siblings, Autocthon and Gaia, triumphed over the Primordials.  Those not slain were placed under a geas sanctified by their true names to prove their defeat at the hands of the new masters of Creation.  They were then imprisoned in their Greatest, Malfeas.   The details of this Primordial war are sketchy.  I propose a possibility that maybe some of the  slain Primordials chose to be slain because they would rather die then give up the Games of Divinity.  Though we can assume there were other reasons for their death as well, such as the wrath of the Exalted in the passion of War, or because slaying the Primordial was more tactically sound then actually taking them prisoner.

The Celestial Incarnae, Luna, and Gaia took the Yu Shan as their Home and gave their previous headquarters of the Blessed Isle to their Exalted so that they may govern Creation along with the Gods and Elementals.  Now the Games of Divinity were free for the Gods to play.  I know in modern Days the 5 Maidens, Luna, The Unconquered Sun, and Gaia play the games and if they are winning then the Jade Pleasure Dome resonates with their Nature for all to see.  Not much is mentioned regarding the 5 Elemental Dragons or Autocthon playing the Games of Divinity.  Perhaps the 5 Dragons feel uneasy in Heaven because they are spirits that are neither God, Demon, or Elemental.  Autocthon certainly felt uncomfortable in Heaven.  He was nervous around these passionate Usurpers and their get that he helped create.  Perhaps he was not as allured by the Games of Divinity because he knew much about its mysteries from him having created it.  Perhaps he was working on a Games of Divinity 2.0 to be integrated into his very internal mechanisms.  I can’t recall if I was just imagining reading that they would play it or not, but one could imagine that they have at least played it.  Other lesser Gods would also go to great lengths for the reward of even one round in the Games of Divinity.  Many would make much of just witnessing the Game of Divinity being played.  We know mere mortals and Godblood supposedly would not survive experiencing the Games, though I can assume measures may be taken to make such beings able to survive the Game, and perhaps the Exalted could survive with their natural Exaltation given nature, or perhaps with the conditioning of charms.  Prismatic Arrangement of Creation Style even emulates the splendor Games of Divinity in one of its sublime forms.

I think the idea the Games of Divinity are like some sort of drug induced computer game appeals to.....computer gamers :)

I see it as beyond mortal comprehension. Your ideas fit well; these are the sort of things a “hidden knowledgeâ€

Yay...I mean obey the Eldagusto...

Yay!  Your the first to reply to this topic...IN ALL THE DIGITAL WEB...2.0....! :o

Yeah World Crackers hopped up on Energy drinks think this must be what it feels like to be a GOD.

Interesting thoughts. But I don't think your ideas necessarily preclude what's been written in canon. I mean, if this is the only way to improve, that in and of itself can become addictive. Particularly if they want to achieve the level of power that their former masters had. So I don't see why you couldn't include these ideas in your game world but still leave the effects as they are described, canonically.

An idle thought I had was that the Games of Divinity is an outcast Shinma who is Tragedy.

Nah... GoD are another live and vengeful primordial controlling the incarna so that they don't watch their exalted too closely..!

Okay, I'll bite. What's a Shinma? Is this another word for the Fair Folk? Or is it something else I'm missing entirely?

The shinma are the 'god' of the fey, if such a thing can exist. Basically, they're concept thingies in the wyld.

That would explain it. I never read the Fair Folk book; hence, the unfamiliarity. Cheers, Haku.
