Editing

Arcaeus

A piece of weeb trash
Hey there, so I came back after a long hiatus and found that you guys switched coding systems. Fine enough, but this has left me with little to no ways of editing my posts as well as it having messed up my old posts. However, I guess this is the way it had to be, but this all makes me a rather sad panda. I'm the kind of person that can use hours editing stuff and now I can't (as far as I know anyways) do any meaningful editing (stylizing) until I have reached x amount of posts. Tho the urge to just spam out 500 posts of simply filler is tempting I felt like asking here first. I have already PM'd a staff member to get some info, but I felt like posting something here to in case anyone had some brilliant ideas.

I do know that the site is supposed to at least copy some edits done in other document programs. But, this isn't perfect and it has a "few" issues, and so I'm going to ignore that option unless someone can give me a few pointers that will make it behave. I really don't feel like putting lots of work into something that will just get screwed up as soon as I try to transfer it.

Hopefully, there is a wizard out there that can give me some help, but until then. Peace out.

I think you mean "stylize", not "edit". The post limit is there to prevent random people from making an account and changing the site with HTML, so you'll have to live with it (like I do).

There aren't too many problems with copying stuff from other places. What are you trying to paste in?

yes, you are right. I mean stylize, sorry if that was confusing.

The things I usually use are things like columns, tabs, image floats and ton of other stuff. Sadly I have found that images often get resized and moved around, text switches size, font and placement. It's just more of a hassle than it's worth,

Hey there,

As Ictora mentioned, the post limit for the use of HTML is because this particular coding can become malicious.  Unfortunately, BBCoding, which has its own safeguard against evil intentions, cannot function on the site's new software.  The site's software was changed to prevent the site from lagging due to the amount of space it was consuming on the server.  The survival guide will give you a fair overview of the all the changes that were made on the site since it switched servers.

Welcome back!

Oh, right, forgot to say welcome back. So, welcome back!

Most of the more complicated stuff can't be pasted in, like your columns, tabs and image floats, but the basic stylings (text size, font, text alignment, etc.) should work. Is there an example of things getting messed up?

Thanks :)

But yes, there are situations where basic styling messes up, but I already have the buttons to fix that built into the site. So it does not matter, I just wanted to know if there was a way to get the more advanced things to work, but I'm taking this as a no.

Unfortunately not. You'll just have to work your way up to 500 posts. I've seen people get there within a week of joining, so it's possible. Good luck!
