Editing a Signature

I noticed the image in my signature wasn't showing up anymore, so I decided to edit it. When I put the image in again, it showed up, and I saved. But it won't change it, because there are "too many images." I check the editing box again, and the image I had just deleted from the signature had reappeared. Why is this happening? How do I delete the image so it will DISAPPEAR? This is so incredibly frustrating I almost feel like crying.


The more important question might be: Why did the image stop showing up in the first place, and how do I make it appear again?

The site is currently in the process of moving all the files from the server its housed in to Amazon S3 (a storage service by amazon) that allows us to have more space cheaply because its just purely a storage service. Just keep trying and it will eventually stick.
