Earth, or better known as Terra Prime by the last few generations is the homeworld and capital of humanity. With a population of 10.4 billion, Earth is still divided among nation-states, though nearly all have affiliated themselves under the Galactic Alliance. With such a high population, most of Earth’s citizens congregate in its teeming cities, which sprawl across the planet’s surface. Streets are invariably crowded with an automated traffic and the packed throngs of people, either those with jobs traveling to and from work at shift change, wandering the streets and searching for some meaning in their small, dismal lives. What open land remains outside Earth’s sprawling urban centers is dedicated mostly to automated industrial farming, where machines labor to produce the food and other organics to sustain not only Earth’s population but the stations that belong to it.

The Galactic Alliance is a representative body of Earth and the colonies of Mars. To this day, the GA has done very little to benefit humankind. Originally created when humans thought they had found extraterrestrial life, they only now serve to oversee dealings between Earth and Mars or act as a policing service for stations.

While advanced technology and medicine have allowed humans to live a longer and more enhanced experience, the gap between the rich and poor widens daily. After a cure for the Esta Plague was created, (which killed an estimated 200 million people during 2602-2610) Earth has worked tirelessly to develop and maintain facilities dedicated to advanced medicine. After the crisis ended, more citizens of Terra Prime were inclined to work on stations where they were promised work and health benefits. People who work at the stations below are usually posted their for life, their social status never increasing.

    Earth controls the following stations:

Kendosha Station: Kendosha is the largest station out of the three, mainly responsible for manufacturing advanced tools and ship parts.
Horus Station: Horus is filled with bustling markets and is known to house many criminals. Many people who stop here to refuel do not stay long.
Vesta Station: Vesta Station is equipped with numerous greenhouses, the food being transported to the other stations along with Earth and Mars. There have been three robbery attempts from this station, all ending in failure.

Technology of the Future

  • In 3115, spacecrafts/ships are mostly used to transport cargo between Terra Prime, Mars, and several space stations. There have been incidents in the past where pirates have attempted to hijack and/or steal from cargo ships but to this day, none have been successful. Both Earth and Mars have developed ships equipped with weaponry but have found no use for them. To shorten the time traveling between stations, Mars created Warp Hubs. These Warp Hubs essentially act as 'highways' between two locations. Once connected, ships can travel between the two points in minutes. It is important to note the majority of these ships have not been used for tasks other than to escort cargo or VIPs.

    SMALL CRAFTS
These ships are characterized by their small size and/or short endurance. To this day, the following ships have not been equipped with FTL travel. In some settings, these small craft have the ability to travel and fight within atmospheres whereas larger ships do not (and are restricted to orbit).

Escape Pod: Can be compared to a lifeboat in space. All ships above this tier are equipped with at least one. Generally these have only rudimentary engines and no weapons, but will carry some survival supplies.
Breaching Pod/Drop Ship: A small pod that is used to deliver soldiers to another vessel by penetrating the hull. None have been deployed to this day; no one is dumb enough to try to outrun a GA ship.
Shuttle: Commonly used to transfer personnel or material from one ship to another, or down to the surface of a planet. Civilians may own these for personal transport. These vessels are usually restricted to short range travel only.

    PRIMARY SHIPS
These are full-fledged space ships; they have the endurance to go anywhere, but aren't powerful enough to be actual capital ships. The GA is currently working on a stealth program with this tier of spacecrafts. The progress of this project is classified.

Cargo Ship: Purposed to carry goods from one planet/station to another. While it is usually lightly armed, ships carrying more important cargo will be accompanied by a Frigate.
Cruiser: Cruisers can be classified as a jack-of-all-trades ship. Fast enough to evade or chase down enemies while at the same, equipped with enough guns to operate independently without escort ships.
Battleship: Essentially a large and powerful warship.
Frigate: A fast, medium-sized ship intended to protect other vessels. They have the potential to act independently for raiding, long-range patrol, bombardment, or scouting.
Attack Fighter: This ship has the potential to carry out attacks that larger ships may not be able to accomplish. Fighters are small and maneuverable, usually deployed from Capital Ships.
"Yacht": Exclusively used to carry VIPs or prisoners. Always accompanied by a Frigate ship.

    CAPITAL SHIPS
Capital Ships are a new classification of ships originally created by the Martians (the project later overseen by Earth). There have been no deployments of capital ships yet some would argue the MS Terigon was the first (to be deployed in space) of its kind - which only makes it more worrying about its destruction. Capital Ships are large spacecrafts, meant to carry a small army or act as mobile space stations. The presence of just one of these in an area can influence strategic calculations.

Dreadnought: A massive ship, usually the largest ship in the fleet, bristling with big guns. Although heavily gunned, these ships move at a slow pace due to its heavy armor. Only to be used in extreme situations, especially because the resources required to build one are tremendous.
???: These ships will act as mobile space stations.
