Corn was a relatively new grain that was introduced during their war with the Fae See. Its quickly become a popular ingredients within the empire and new farms solely dedicated to plant corn was built in several places. The Fenrum Farm was one such place, spanning more than a thousand acres of growing corn. It became one of the most reliable corn supplier within the western region of the empire. Despite its considerable distance with the nearest settlement, its still a relatively safe place as its had enough people to defend it from the stray monsters that might enter the premise. No one would expect such a large raid from an assortment of random monsters to break in...

=====================================

Turtle long-legs was its name, or at least what it was called by the other more intelligent monsters. The turtle was a regular monster who could do nothing but constantly seeking for its next meal. However, it has an acute sense of smell that make it very useful in tracking preys. Additionally it was also an inefficient eater, having known to leave a lot of leftover whenever its done eating. Making the turtle useful for both stronger monsters who wants sniffing pawn or transportation mode, and to the weaker monsters who just wants to eat free foods. The turtle was currently at the forefront of the horde, splitting and trampling through the field and make it easier for the other monster to walk through. The turtle and a large number of other monsters were drawn to this farm by a strong chemical that signaled at them to follow it, like a trail of sweet candies on the ground. Some of the other monsters were simply want to follow the herd, patiently waiting for the chaos that would surely ensue when a horde grow this large.

The horde was moving as slow as the turtle, but the sight of the farm had become even closer than ever. The monsters could already see a number of buildings in just a few dozens feet away. The nearest one was a building that reeks of horse manure, and based on the panicking horse noises that came from within, it looks like they already know of the horde's coming. The other nearest building was a long two stories house with several chimneys on it, indicating its use as a living space for the people there. Before the main horde hit the farm, the faster or the smarter or the more impatient monsters might be able to do a preemptive attack.

Corrupted by Design

On the outer fringes of the hoard, something skulked along with the rest of them.

It had pale skin which had already entered the first stage of pallor mortis. Of death. Yet it seemed to not go much further than that -- it's cold flesh maintained a state of perpetual stasis, sitting somewhere between life and death. And to maintain this state: It only needed one thing. And that was blood. The meat was of little consequence.

To desire humans was something that he shared in common with the beings of this world. And his label was such that such creatures did not kill him on sight. However, the creatures were far more overt and far more destructive than the likes of him. Rather than viewing humans like cattle, many sought to destroy and obliterate them for it's own sake. Others did so seek to enslave. Yet there was little order among them. Little intelligence.

Technically, the same could be said of him. He had succumbed to his beast of late and had to resist the call to frenzy at the mere sight of such a succulent creature as a human. However, much like in his own world, the death of a human often meant many would swarm you. And the humans of this world were more powerful. Yet when it came to his ilk, they were also more numerous.

Quantity was a quality of its own.

Horses were neighing, already having detected the large group however. And it was at this point that Shahbaz would seperate and slink away from the main horde. Evading the stables due to the excessive noise that was made. Right around the crops stopped however, he decided to approach in his own way. He moved specifically into darkness and would navigate it with ease. [Darkvision]

Finding a spot among the maize -- Al Shahbaz chose a building at random. It was only the noisy stables that the stealthy bloodsucker sought to evade. It would be then that he sought to dig a hole in the ground. [Infiltrate]

Chk chk chk chk

His claws sank into the soil like any shovel. And in his wake, he would make a tunnel as he began to sink into the ground some distance away from the horde. Standing tall at 6'9 and 250 lbs -- Shahbaz's tunnel would be large enough to allow similarly sized creatures to fit inside of it. Blood-red eyes stared into the ground as it yielded for him. And he'd begin to make his way over into the ground. There was a degree of control in his movements as he seemed to meticulously ensure that the tunnel would not collapse behind him. Indeed, if successful, other may be able to crawl in his wake and he may be able to use it later.

"פעם חצבתי מקדשים...עכשיו אני חוצב מנהרות" The creature murmured to itself in a language distant and worthless in these lands. As he did, he started to seek to make it to the basement or underneath one of the houses.

Guts

Yet Shahbaz would soon realize that he wasn't the only one to travel by his lonesome. Something had been watching him the moment he departed from the main horde...

And it had been watching closely with its big singular glowing eye tracking his every movement.

Like him, the Agrigore had also been pulled into the horde in the promise of getting an easy meal, lurking at the outskirts to take advantage of any spoils that make themselves know. While his previous time with the party at Crimson Harbor was a reliable source of getting kills to feed his voracious appetite, the group had decided to take some downtime for themselves shortly after. Getting impatient he would depart to find more opportunities to gather his strength. Scouring the lands to the east, he'd be quick pick up the intoxicating smell of a free meal ringing through his senses like a dinner bell. And before long he'd eventually found himself trailing Turtle Long Legs' horde who had also been drawn for the same reason.

Of course, the cyclops wasn't here for the corn. Rather he was here for the things that ATE said corn.

It wasn't often that an entity like Shahbaz would catch the Agrigore's gaze, but hearing that their prey were beginning to sense the horde descending on them with panicked whinneys and cries, he calculated it would be wise to separate from the main group in order to find the entry of least resistance. Perhaps he might have a meal he didn't have to share with the rest of the horde. Even sharing it with one individual was better then fighting to secure a kill that ought to be rightfully his. Keeping tab on the nosferatu's scent, as well as his own use of [Darkvision F] the Agrigore would quietly follow him through the mass of cornfields from a safe distance.

He'd follow him to one the farm's noisy stables, no doubt containing a feast for the monsters to devour to their hearts content. Shahbaz would then proceed to dig a hole underneath the stable with his long claws and begin tunneling under it. Perhaps he was looking to dig out somewhere underneath a basement or from under the floorboards of the main house itself and catch their prey off guard. It could also act as a quick escape route should they need to dart out quick. That being said the tunnel, while sizable, seemed just a bit tight for Agrigore as is to manually climb into... at least in his physical form.

The Agrigore's head cocked as he weighed his options... either to follow him or make his own route into the farm's perimeters. Eventually, he'd choose the former; as his body begins morphing into his infamous black liquid goo form and slithered quietly inside, waiting to see where exactly he'd pop out.

The soil had a somewhat fresh earthy scent as Shahbaz dug underneath the house, the fertile earth was proven to be rather easy to dig as there's not much stone and rubble down there. Consecutively it also means the tunnel wouldn't be as strong as he expected and might collapse at any moment, although its still sturdy enough to let a certain liquified monster that follow the vampire without any hiccup.

The vampire's last barrier into the property was a mere rotting wooden plank that covers the basement floor, which he easily able to break through without much effort. What welcomed him inside was an assortment of shelves and crates with various unused objects on it, gathering dust and rust as they decay in this forgotten side of the house. Other than the hole he just created, there's only a single stone stairs that would lead them to the main floor above them.

A loud chimes could be heard throughout the farm, its frantic noise signaled everyone in the farm of the incoming danger. Several seconds later a loud creaking noise and screeching horses filled the atmosphere as the overjoyed monsters started to feast on the horses that were unfortunate enough to be trapped inside their stable. Several loud bangs from guns joined the cacophony, followed by shrieking monsters who charged at their attackers. The main horde had reached the farm, and the clash had begun.

"Captain Janus, what should we do? There's way more of them than usual!" A panicked voice could be heard from the ground floor.

"You are right, this is not normal..." Another voice, this one sounded much more calmer and authoritative. "Prepare the wagons for evacuation. Wake old man Yori up, and release the rhino."

"Rhino? The ex-gladiator? He just killed Sam last week and ripped his heart out. He's as bad as the monsters outside!"

"True, but we need all the help. The monster will also attack him, he would at least make a good distraction. I will be at the front with other men, hurry."

"O-okay!"

After that both men sounded to be scatter out of the building. There's still some noises within the house, but its pale in comparison with the chaos outside.

Feeding Time

As Shahbaz felt the soil, he could feel that that it was soft in his claws. While he desired it to remain more stable, enough weight on it might cause it's collapse.

Two elf-like ears flicked as he heard something else behind him. A faint yellow glow amidst the puddle alluded to who it was. There was no name that Al Shahbaz had for the creature nor did he at any point truly ask one. Only some vague concept of "Cyclops" existed and a quiet designation as something not explicitly hostile to his person. Thus it was that he would continue into the house. The neighing of the horses did not interest Shabhaz at all.

He was not here to eat horses.

755c2974b7b2aff95a0410d198b4175a.jpg

Quietly he removed a rotten board and rose out of the floor as though it were a grave. Loud and unfamiliar bangs resonated out through the air from unknown instruments. Ones that he could only really speculate about. Looking up, voices from above spoke above. And he looked in it's direction blankly as he stated his thoughts. "Do not...understand." He was too distant from those of this world and had yet to learn of their tongues or even so much as converse with a human being. Every interaction with one has been inconsequential to both parties or violent.

His words became clearer -- though the meaning of it was lost at first.

"Beeshaar." He said, before translating it into the language of "monsters."

#"Meat."# He said to the Cyclops. The two ran outside -- two blood-red eyes following them. Together humans tended to be strong and coordinated. Yet even the beast within him knew, they were weak.

The creature began to slink about the shadows of the house as he searched it. Despite his size, he moved with an eerie quiet. He'd worn no shoes of any kind and walked with only his bare feet. He had a good degree of awareness and never seemed to bump into things randomly. His movements were slow. And his body was not impossible to see. A strange humanoid with sharp claws and wearing nothing but a loincloth. His mouth hung perpetually open, drool slipping out from beneath his fangs.

Yet any flicker of him that was seen, he would use to his benefit. A creaking floorboard her. A shadow there. He sought to instill fear into his prey [Hindrance: Fear] and make them more susceptible to attack. [Haunting Presence]

However, taking a look around, he sought to become aware of his environment. He took brief glances outside wherever so possible to see how the others fared and what they were up against. The lesser monsters would make for good fodder.

What did these humans have at their disposal?

The slaughter had already begun...

Even being underneath the floorboards, the Agrigore could hear the mass murder amongst the horrified screams of innocent lives coming from outside. All of them fighting or fleeing fruitlessly for their miserable lives to continue infesting upon this wretched world. They even claimed they had a weapon of a man of their own... a savior they called it. But it too was wrought with the ravenous hunger of the beast. It was hopeless. Hopeless for all of them.

They knew naught of the true dangers that awaited them just around the corner.

Yet the nosferatu in front him... well sadly, he couldn't understand as it growled in fellow abyssal. It almost sounded as if it was talking to himself, though by now it was more then evident he had noticed the Agrigore's presence. The latter would simply cackle distortedly at his disposition, being a blend of airy hisses and guttural gurgles, as he too emerged from the ground. His black tar-like essence seeped from the cracks in the floorboards, pooling into themselves as it slowly began to build up the nightmarish "Aggregate" from the ground up.

The void-colored ichor. The bleached white of his boney armor. The maroon highlights of his stomach and horns. And his singular glowing xanthic eye peering straight into Shabaz's with a cold expressionless glare... alongside his perpetual nightmarish grin of jagged teeth and fangs. The lanky horror was now active once more.

"#AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGRIIGORRRRRRRRREEEEE....#" he wretched towards his newfound partner in abyssal. Yet from it Shahbaz would already understand what he knew within a matter of moments.:

#The man "Captain Janus" ordering their evacuation of the town.
Their plan to wake up the old man "Yori" and the "Rhino".
How the "Rhino" was means to distract them as they fled.
The danger which "Rhino" posed to all parties involved.
And how Janus would put himself with the main forces...#

Indeed... they were all prime "#meat#" for the taking. The Agrigore was most certainly interested in devouring the "Rhino" whole... meat, bones and all. Though depending on Shahbaz's performance, he might allow him the honor to feast on this Captain Janus should he reach him. But they had to find them first... and quick.

Following him close behind, the Agrigore slinked through the darkness as he too inspected the otherside of house at a seemingly faster and more fluid rate thanks to his unique body structure. Of course, he could feel the intoxicating feeling of fear emanating from his partner to keep his enemy on edge. It was a uniquely exotic taste... in some cases weirdly nostalgic. He would assist with his own unique aura [Ominous Presence+ F] to assist his fellow monstrous brethren. And in a way, showcasing his "callsign" as a means for them to recognize one another should they separate.

As Shahbaz would take a look outside from the ground, the Agrigore would suddenly recoil his lanky legs and leap up towards the ceiling. His body seemed to stretch out even more - his torso and arms expanding outwards unnaturally - until sinking their claws into the wood and turning into his sticky goo-form. His body seeped through the cracks and damage with the infrastructure before reaching the top of the roof as a black puddle. Only a bit of his essence now dripped from the ceiling, allowing continued contact with Shahbaz for them to plan their next course of action.

The Agrigore's singular eye opened once more as it searched the perimeter for their next meal...

"HOLD YOUR POSITION!!" Outside of the building, a muscular rugged man in his forties stood atop the roof of a small shed, his charismatic voice boomed through the chaotic atmosphere and gave the men below some semblance of order as they picked their shields and formed a solid barrier with their shields on their left hand and a spear on their right. Based on the voice alone Shahbaz and Agrigore would easily able to identify this man as the same man who gave the orders in the building, captain Janus.

The line of men screamed to hype each other up as they tank the surge of charging monsters, many of them ends up getting skewered by the spears. While the monsters were winning in terms of number, their mindless charging and lack of cooperation made the human able to stand their ground, for now. Captain Janus nodded at their men and signaled for the other group of men to do their task. These other men, stationed at the second floor of what seemed to be a barn, would aimed their guns at the incoming horde and start shooting. Thunderous boom echoed through the farm as rain of bullets cut through the attacking monsters. Despite their rocky start, the humans might be able to turn the tide if they kept this pace.

Meanwhile, inside the residential building. Three men who were supposed to be preparing the wagons for the evacuation were instead pillaging the building, taking whatever they deemed to be valuable enough with them. However, the combination of Shahbaz's and Agrigore's aura made the atmosphere inside the building unbearably oppressive. They were looting the main lounge when one of them voiced their uneasiness.

"I-is it just me or things feel more scary now?" He asked nervously.

"N-no shit, look at what's happening outside!"

"Hush, you two. Less talking and more looting. Take as many as we can and then we will leg it off here. This place is doomed."

===========================

On the rooftop, Agrigore would find that he wasn't alone there. A rather short figure covered in a black cloak was also there, the figure was carrying a burlap sack, a rather large humanoid object on their back wrapped in bandage and what seemed to be a decapitated head was tied to their hips. Agrigore's one eye met with the figure's three eyes, their rather cheerful visage was unchanging as they tilted their head in confusion.

"Another one? I thought We were smart to use the chimney." The figure talks in a rather feminine voice, although the voice had some reverberation on it, as if several people were talking at once.

"We enter like Satan." A deep guttural male voice could be heard.

"Yes, just like Satan." The first voice agree.

"It is Santa, you doofus!" Another voice, this one was like a raspy harsh female voice. All three voice were coming from the same figure. Their three eyes briefly looked at three different directions with erratic movement before the three purple eyes finally focused solely on Agrigore. While the cloak make it hard to see how the figure truly looks, the chitinous insect hand they raised as they pointed at Agrigore make it sure that they're likely not as humanoid as they seemed.

"Warning, the farmers' heads... are ours. You can take, the, rest." The figure told the one eyes monster before they jumped into the chimney.

===========================

Back inside the building, the three humans were still busy ransacking the lounge, unaware as Shahbaz creeps closer to their position. The auras clearly affected them as they were visibly shivering from the unexplainable fear. Then the chimney groaned violently as something, or someone, fell through. The sudden noise made the three men jumped and raised their swords towards the chimney, the night's shadow made it hard for them to have a clear look at what just fell through the chimney but they could see something that resembles the empire's warrior. However, Shahbaz with his dark vision would easily notice that the figure was nothing more than a wooden puppet. With the three men focused on the wooden figure, their backs were now turned on him. Tempting him with the opportunity to attack.

Towards the one now known as "Agrigore," -- Shahbaz lent an unblinking stare and a quiet hiss before he moved along.

Venom Fight

Ears twitched as they were filled with the constant thunderous sounds of strange weapons he had seen outside. Shahbaz appeared to watch as projectiles flew from their weapons, gouts of flame propelling the equipment. He had never seen such a thing, though he had heard of tales from his fellow kindred of such things in a far off land named "China." Far flung from this place -- which appeared to be more advanced.

Prominently however, was a man who stood above shouting orders to those fighting against the horde. Covertly, a singular concept was ascribed to this man named "Captain Janus."

Target.

Something caught his ear more, however. Voices. A pang of hunger struck as flecks of drool slipped between rows of flesh tearing teeth. And he naturally began to follow said senses.

They led to a spot in the place in which he could see the others distracted as they were rummaging through the place. While he couldn't understand their language, note was taken of the shiny things which they had chosen to take. The creature was inclined to understand "greed" well when he saw it. They seemed to prioritize treasure over food. Instinctively, his eyes began to search the area for a light source and for something with which he might cover it.

Yet something.... unexpected occurred.

Something had come down from an opening above -- something conceptually thought of as a "chimney." A figure appeared, concealed by shadows. Yet at a glance, it could be seen that figure had the shape of a human but was merely made of wood. Thus it was of no interest to the likes of him. It was nothing compared to the exposed backs turned to him.

The creature of the night would seek to take advantage of the opportunity as he covertly walked forward to the one whom was nearest to him. Jaws would open wide and no breath came from them. To breathe was a sign of true life. Shahbhaz lacked life, and it was only his nature to take and take. Greedy like these men.

CHOMP

A "kiss."

The carotid artery was located on the side of the neck. It was a large artery responsible for pumping blood directly from the heart straight to the brain. As cut or nick to it was almost always fatal -- as the heart would pump blood out like a fountain and send it spurting out. Yet he'd allow no blood to goto waste, as Shahbaz sought to have that blood spraying out. What was worse were Shabhaz's claws digging into the man. There mere touch caused flesh to die and undergrow necrosis. Said claws sought to find purchase the man's body and tangle him up with his limbs in a form of twisted embrace. [The Kiss] The jaws would continue to squeeze, seeking to clamp down on the back of the man's neck until the spine broke. [Attack] Perhaps the worse part of this was that the windpipe was free.

Shabhaz's eyes were dark red with dark pupils. And they flicked between the other two as if to say "you're next."
