...the Story Teller
Unial Corentha. A world where the Unalcorthans are gifted with magic. The legend goes that when time began Unalcorthans were once humans. People with no magic or horns at all. That was, until a man fell in love with a pure white unicorn from the forest. Knowing that the two could never be together like they were now, the Unicorn pleaded with the gods to change her shape so that she may be with him. The gods were so moved by the pure creature's plea of love, that they granted the creature the form of a human female, but her magic would always manifest as her horn so she would never forget what she truly was. Her descendants would inherit her magic. Because of this, the humans became greedy and tried to steal her power away by trying to take away her horn. The gods, seeing the humans would not let up and seeing how the one human loved the Unicorn so much he would sacrifice anything for her, they made him into a unicorn as well, but his horn was black as night. The two fled into the forest to live out their immortal days in peace.
The human world, on the other hand, was becoming more and more dreadful. The humans were killing each other left and right. Corruption and darkness filled their hearts. This saddened the gods and decided to give the world a clean slate after one last chance. Upon twelve more human children the gods granted the gift of magic and made them into Unalcorthans. Each with their own color and power affinity. A deep green horn was gifted to a child of ten with the power over Earth. A seventeen year old girl was given a red horn with a yellow tip and gifted with the power of fire. A soft-spoken eleven year old boy was given a thin yellow horn and held the power of wind. A studious boy at the age of eighteen was given a blue horn with the power of water. A stubborn little girl at age five was given a silver horn and had the power of metal. A pair of twin children with opposite coloring and personality were given horns as well. One was white with a black tip and the other black with a white tip and given the powers of light and dark. One child was given a brown horn and the power of wood. Another was given a light greenhorn with the power over plant, Yet another was given the lightest of yellow horns and given the power of lightening. One was given a bright orange horn and granted the power of incomparable speed. One was given a vibrant purple horn to represent the power of energy. One was given a peach colored horn and the power of creation. The last child was given a light lavender colored horn and the power of destruction. The original two Unalcorthans were given the powers of light and dark with their representative colors.
These twelve children were guided to the forest where they met with the two adult Unalcorthans and raised there. When their powers all developed and matured as their bodies aged to all the same limit. The same as the black and white ones, they were told to cast a spell. One that would change the world forever. They all stood in a large circle, on a grassy hill, in a clearing in the middle of the forest. They cast their magic together in the center. Their powers were aided by the gods and amplified to transform every human into an Unalcorthan with one of the fourteen colored horns and their representative magic. This spell and power had a sacrifice requirement. Each and every one of the original Unalcorthans turned to crystal where they stood. Each crystal was the same color as their horn and in the center was a single rose. A rose with a petal of each color. It would never wither, nor would it ever die. This was the god's promise to the first. They would be immortal and their sacrifice, never forgotten.
Now, these days things have become quite peaceful and connected with nature. However, the society is not as perfect as it should be. In this world, your status is judged by your magic and your horn is the only way to see it. The longer and bigger your horn, the more magic you had. Your element doesn't matter, just the amount you have. Unfortunately, the horns do not grow back if they are cut off or broken off. Fortunately the horns are the strongest part of them and their magic keeps them from breaking. The horns have to be either removed with a purpose or so much power to double back and destroy themselves.
This magic is stored in their bodies as children and only surface until the body becomes able to withstand the transformation into a physical trait. A single horn that grows from their foreheads. These beings are called Unilicorthans. The horns they grow can come at any age. It all depends on the body of the vessel. It is rare, but some babies are even born with horns and they grow as the child grows. In this world, peace reigns and is governed by a benevolent king and queen with the longest horns ever seen. However, this was not to last forever. There have been hearings of horns being removed, leaving the Unicorthians hornless but their magic removed, making them humans. Who is doing this? Why are they doing this? For now, it is just a story to scare children. The story of the horn thief. Legend says he was a human that was given magic but as soon as he grew his horn it fell out and will do anything to have his horn stay on and keep his magic. But then, that's only a legend. Now days, things are getting a little too real and there has been a dark shadow covering the fourteen kingdoms. There have been sightings of Unicorthans without their horns and only a scar remaining where their horns should be. What could this mean?
