The apocalypse will be televised

In one moment half of earth's population was killed by an invading alien force. They came to mine the minerals of the planet. These aliens gave humans a choice they can either stay and live on the slowly dying planet or enter a dungeon and make it to the end of the 18th floor. The one who makes it will be given lordship of Earth and be able to restore it if they so wish.

Those curious, desperate, insane, or just had nothing left entered the dungeon unaware of the horrors they would face.

Now the galaxy watches it's favorite show this season being the humans of earth. Who will survive, who will become the fan favorite, who will not wear pants. Only one way to find out

So how does this actually work?

I'm unfamiliar with the series but the premise seems interesting.

There are 18 floors each one being more dangerous than the last.

Crawlers must navigate through each floor within a timelimit usually 1 to 2 weeks. Objectives to reaching the next floor vary. Each floor is filled with monsters as well as multiple boss creatures.

If we make it to the third floor the Crawler can change their race and add a class (like an mmorpg) to help them.
All the while they are being watched by the galaxy. During or after a floor the crawlers may be spirited away to one of many talk shows, pod casts ect. Depending on how they are they could get small gifts from their fans.
