Prologue

The Dream

The figure floats about lazily, her beauty captivating. She is all you see now, your previous dreams fading into the void. Her eyes open- a piercing blue. Her mouth opens soon after, and her voice, reminding you of bells or windchimes, drifts through the abyss that is your mind.

“Hail, young ones. I am known by many names, but my chosen one is Life. We do not have much time, as Death haunts around every corner, even in dreams. The universe is tainted by his rampage. There is too much pestilence and war in my beautiful creation. However, it is not up to me to end his reign." She pauses, staring you down.

"Simply put, you are a Partner, one half of a whole. With your destined partner and all of the other pairs, you might be able to stop Death. First, though, you must go to the First Temple, the holy land where I placed the first human. Ancient enchantments have kept Death from the area, but not for long. Travel there, in Lyra. There, you will meet your partner, and gain great power.

Be careful though. Death is cunning, and he will do anything to stop you from rising against him. We must stop him. You must stop him.

Go, young ones. Go to Lyra, to the First Temple. Find your Partner. Then, save the world."

The dream ended, and you woke up with a start. Unlike many dreams, this one stayed in your mind, burnt into your memories. What was this?

The Aftermath

It mattered not whether you believed the woman or not. Her magic forced you to go, no matter how much you rejected it.

And so, one by one, each of the Partners packed their bags and made their way to the First Temple, in Lyra. Some had to travel far to reach it, and some less. However, they all went. As they arrived, stepping closer and closer to the First Temple, they felt something. A feeling inside. Magic.

Life had lied- the First Temple was not actually in Lyra, the partners learned one way or another. It was on the outskirts. And so they went.

Life watched them from the Netherworld, hope filling her broken form. They were the ones. The ones that would save the world.

Act 1
chaos-symbol1.jpg

Sealed Demons

Deep within the Netherworld, Life gazed onto Earth, watching the destined Partners make their way to the First Temple. As they grew nearer and nearer, she felt their souls more nad more. And as they all approached as once, she saw the lack of synergy between these Partners. She shook her head. This would not do. Death was a being composed of discord, of chaos- conflict would only bring them further away from their goal of reviving Life and bringing peace back to Vascuo. She had expected some difference of opinion, just like her and Death. However, this was more than she anticipated. She did not lose faith though. Every weakness is a chance to grow strength. They just needed a little push in the right direction.

Releasing a burst of magic from the Netherworld, bubbles began to appear around Life. They grew and grew, and soon inside these bubbles there were new places, places that didn't exist within Vascuo. Within each bubble a location grew- each one personally tailored for each pair of Partners. Some were barren wastelands, others were cities, more were open fields. Each one would have a challenge for the pair of Partners to face and hopefully grow from.

Life gave a satisfied nod- the spell had used up much of her magic, but it was necessary. The Partner's discord would not be destroyed entirely, but she hoped it would at least be watered away at.

It was time for a test.

Be aware: much of this act will involve pairs RPing alone. After all these 'tests' are finished, we will come back together as a big family or something.

Do not post until I post.

Mood: Pissed Off

"God DAMN it!"

This was the third time he had tripped over a stray branch since entering Lyra, and he was now very, very pissed. Did anybody even bother to clear the paths out of the city, to the temple? According to that floating Life lady, this was a very important place, some sort of holy ground. Linden wasn't a big religious guy, but when an angelic dream infiltrator told him something was sacred, he was definitely going to belief it was sacred.

Anyway, back to the important issue- the branches. He had already obtained a nasty scratch on one of his fingers from the fucking roots portruding from the ground in his way. Attempting to bottle his hate away and failing miserably, he stormed through the forest. The First Temple couldn't be far.

When he saw the First Temple, he was both shocked and awed. What he was looking at was nothing but ruins. At his feet was a large pond, leading up to a pair of doors. He blinked, then sighed. Maybe the inside would surprise him?

He trekked through the pond, the water at knee height. Cursing as water flooded into his boots, he crossed through with annoyance plain on his face. Eventually making it through, he just then realized there were no stairs- he would have to hoist himself up through the waterfall. His fingers sinking into the stone, quivering, he pulled himself up the waterfalls.

Finally making it up and walking it through the doors, he found an altar, a tree growing from the ground. A wave of light shot over him, and he instantly felt the water on him dry and evaporate. More content than before but still pissed, he looked around. Anybody else there? Nope.

He leaned against the wall, staring at the peculiar chink of light penetrating through what he thought was a sealed room.

Dre felt wind rushing through his hair as he jogged out of Lyra into the wilderness. The cool, early spring breeze rushed through his hair, blowing it back ouit of his blue eyes. He had a long day. He had left Allyion yesterday, having taken the ferry over the bay, before taking the train down to Lyra. The train was unfortunately not as high-class as he would have hoped, and it took forever to get from the station to Lyra. He felt so cramped in that train. Finally, he had an opportunity to unwind. And by unwind, he meant jogging.

And so, there he was, speeding through the forest. Elegantly, he leaped over several roots and portruding figures in his way. It wasn't before long that he appraoched a ruined building. He gazed at it, stopping his movement and turning off the music that was flowing through his brain. "This is the First Temple?" he asked nobody in particular, before shrugging. If it wasn't, then he assumed he would just pick up and go somewhere else.

His feet moving rapidly, he dashed through the water, splashing it all over the place. He smiled, knowing it was good he brought waterproof headphones, before climbing up through the waterfall. He stopped right outside the door, turning around.
"I guess I'll wait her a few secs, see if anybody else shows." He leaned against a pillar, staring into the distance.

Reve Leanaí
Health: 100%
Location: On the Road ---> Lyra Outskirts, First Temple
Apparel: Loose tan shirt and a pair of black pants, later a pair of simple gray waders. Aisling is wearing a simple white dress and a blue and gold "Adventurer's Cloak" that Reve gave her.
Mood: Happy, Amused, and Proud of his Daughter
Mentions: Autumn Amare te stesso Amare te stesso
Interactions: Dresden Literally Batman Literally Batman

Reve's eyes snapped open, the dream he'd just had burning a hole through his memories. He made a face as he sat up, looking around, trying to get a grip on his thoughts. Then there was a gentle poke of his cheek and looked towards the little girl that was peeking up over the front seat "Aisling" he said softly, amusement in his voice "Up before me I see?"

The little red head nodded before climbing over the seat and into his lap. He gave a small smile and rubbed her head "I had a weird dream" he said softly.

"About what?" his daughter asked him.

"A woman" he said softly "Almost as pretty as you" he poked her cheek, causing her to giggle "She wanted me to go to Lyra" he found it strange that a dream wanted him to change his plans. He'd originally been aiming to head towards Osakange to the the land of his grandfather. They'd even been en route when they'd decided to stop for the night and sleep in the car.

His daughter cocked her head to the side "I thought we were going to Osan..Ose..." she paused as she tried to say the larger word. Reve simply watched her, knowing that she'd get it eventually and when she did, he smiled "Osakange" she said nodding.

Reve grinned "Well, how about we let our luck decide?" he asked her as he pulled out a small coin. This wasn't just any coin, this was his Grandfather's lucky coin.

Aisling's face lit up in a smile as she opened up her hand and received the coin "Heads we go to Osakange and Tails we go to Lyra" Reve said watching her as she balanced the coin on her thumb like he did. With a solid sound, the coin flipped up into the air.

As it fell, Reve held out his hand, letting it land in the center of his palm. He nodded, looking at the result "Tails, Lyra it is" he said nudging his daughter back into the front passenger side seat and climbing out of the car "We'll get washed up when we get there" he said climbing into the driver's seat. Before he started up the car, he looked at Aisling "Seat belts" he said.

"So we can be safe" she intoned as she buckled up her seat belt. He nodded and patted her head before starting up the car and pulling out onto the road.

They drove for only a short while, taking the quickest route to Lyra. On the way, they passed along the border of Osakange, driving alongside other vehicles when Aisling began bouncing in her seat "Daddy! Daddy!" she said. From the corner of his eye, he could see that she was waving to the passenger or passengers of another vehicle "There is a pretty lady in that car" she said.

He chuckled "If they are coming from Osakange, they probably are pretty" he said softly. That was a bit of a generalization, something his mother wouldn't have stood by, but Aisling was a child "After all, your grandma is from Osakange and she is pretty right?"

Reve saw Aisling nod as she continued to happily wave towards the other vehicle. Honestly, Reve felt the urge to look over at this woman who had caught his daughter's attention, but he needed to keep his eyes on the road.

It wasn't much longer until they arrived in Lyra. He rented a hotel room for three nights and gave Aisling a bath before taking his own. Afterwards, he asked around about the location of the First Temple. It was surprising that some people didn't know what it was. When he was just passing it off as a dream, he was called out by an older man, claiming to know what he was looking for.

There was an old temple on the outskirts of Lyra, and while they didn't know the name, that temple was the only one that could be called the "First"

Reve thanked them and then headed to the clothing store. From his understanding, the forest could get quite muddy in places so he gathered a couple waders for him and Aisling. He did have a book bag he could store them in should he not need them, but it never hurt to be prepared. He also got a few other necessities, such as water bottles and bug spray for Aisling, as well as a few snacks. He even got a rope just in case, though that one was decided with a flip of his coin.

Afterwards, he and Aisling stored the car away and took a cab to the outskirts.

As explorers, he and Aisling treated it as if they were just hiking. Aisling was easily impressed with everything as she'd been living in the desert of Brolif for her entire life. Reve himself had only left Brolif a couple times when his mother took him with her for work, so this was a good experience.

After about an hour, he found the Temple and smiled slightly "Look at that" he said looking down at Aisling as she held his hand. Her eyes sparkled with delight at seeing the old ruin.

Reve had often talked about finding old ruins when he spoke of exploring and this desire had trickled down into his daughter.

He looked at the pond and figured that it would be too deep for her to wade in so he only pulled out his waders and slipped them on. They were big enough that the didn't even need to remove his own shoes. Aisling giggled at her father's goofy look in the large waders.

He knelt down, presenting his back to her "Alright, up" he said before his daughter scrambled up his back like a little monkey, settling with her legs on his shoulders.

The young man stood up and waded into the pond "Oooh, that is cold" he said, causing her to laugh as he headed towards the temple.

When they reached the waterfall, he found a relatively dry spot and hoisted Aisling up above him before pulling the rope out of the bookbag and handing it to her "Find a good spot to tie this to" he said, watching as she nodded and carried the rope off.

Aisling quickly found one of the sturdy looking statues outside of the temple and tied the rope around it before bringing the other end to her father. As little children do, she completely missed the fact that there was already someone standing near the door.

Of course, a little girl appearing probably surprised the other person as well.

Reve pulled himself up and gently patted Aisling's head "Great job" he said moving to untie the rope before noticing Dresden "Oh, someone is already here Aisling" he said chuckling lightly. There was no point in removing his waders as he was just going to have to put them back on after he left the Temple.

"Really?" the little girl poked her head around Reve to look at the blond haired man.

"Manners" Reve said looking at her.

"Oh...right" she stepped forward and clasped her hands together in front of her "Please to meet you, my name is Aisling Leanaí" she said giving the man a polite bow.

Her father nodded and smiled before copying her and bowing to Dresden as well "and I am her father, Reve Leanaí, pleased to meet you as well"

Elian Mercier
Health: 100%
Location: First Temple, Lyra Outskirts
Apparel: A black button up shirt with a white undershirt beneath it. Dark colored slacks, and hardy walking shoes for the journey - even if it was short for him. An umbrella....for shade, protection from rain, and fighting off any wild animals he might find along the way. Also has a bag with a water bottle, a sleeping bag, rope, and some travel food in case he got hungry.
Mood: Unsure

Upon waking up from the dream, Elian had tried to brush it off like it meant nothing. Of course, it didn't work that way. The more he wanted to deny what the lady in the dream said, the more it began to eat away at him. Typically it was easy for him to simply brush off the words of others, but not this time. It lingered in his mind, and it drove him mad. He didn't even remember deciding to pack a bag and walk out the door. All he remembered was somehow ending up on the road to the wilderness outside of Lyra, heading towards the First Temple. It was never a conscious decision to him, it was more like his body just moved on its own until he gave in.

Because who cared if it was all a fib? Who cared if he got there and nothing was really happening? He could easily turn around and go home, enjoying the rest of his days peacefully. He could engage in this fairy tale for the moment - only because his life was boring enough that a small adventure like this was enough for a lifetime.

What really scared him about the whole thing was the fact that the dream mentioned a Partner. How he had to go find his. How he was a half of a whole. That terrified him, more than anything else in the world. He didn't want to be completed by someone else. He wanted to be complete on his own. He told himself that he didn't need another, not when all others did was lie.

He approached the pond of water leading up to the double doors once he came out of the forest, looking around with uninterested eyes. Sure, the surrounding area was beautiful, but he didn't really want to get wet. He waded into the water slowly, eventually coming up to the waterfall. He looked for a way to climb up, and began his excursion. About halfway up - he fell. Soaked, and a bit less enthused about having left the comfort of his home, he stood and rubbed at his lower back.

"Well, looks like I'll have to...ow...Try this again." With a frown, he began to climb up again, slow.

Location: Outskirts of Lyra, First Temple
Apparel: Black and white shirt, faded jeans, and black skater shoes. Carrying a backpack with loads of miscellaneous items, such as a flashlight, some matches, a sketchpad, pencil, a canteen for water, and a blanket.
Mood: Excited, but Impatient

Emi had left Nemea as soon as she'd woken up from the dream and packed her bag. Surely it all made since, right? Why wouldn't someone act on a dream like that? She'd heard stories of prophetic dreams leading people down the right path in stories...so why couldn't that be happening to her? This was the moment her life actually became like all the tales she heard as a child, and she couldn't be more thrilled.

Although the trip took a bit of time. She had to find other modes of travel besides walking, especially sine Lyra was not exactly close to Nemea, but she managed. She would pass the time sketching things in her notebook, or questioning strangers about the scenery she saw along the way. Mostly she just consumed the time with distracting herself. After all, she was a restless spirit.

By the time she actually made it to Lyra, she was too energetic to actually sight see in Lyra...even though she'd never been there before. She just had to go to the First Temple immediately. There was no time for delays...although she encountered plenty while walking through the forest. Everything was a potential threat to her concentration. At one point she saw an animal and got derailed for at least twenty minutes trying to follow it after it ran away. Another time she accidentally stumbled upon a tree she described as 'old, but with character' and she decided to sketch it for at least ten minutes before promising to return and visit one day. Then, finally, she accidentally got lost at one point and walked around in circles for at least an hour before realizing she'd seen the exact same flower forty times in a row.

Thus, it took her quite a bit of time to get through the forest when it shouldn't have. Anyways, she managed to make it out of the forest as enthusiastic as ever, pumped to see what was waiting for her at the temple. She wasn't even upset when she realized she had to wade through a pool a water. Just another fun experience to add to the mind journal, is how she saw it.

She easily worked her way through the water, and managed to climb up without any trouble. Heck, she didn't even have to use the rope. By the time she got up she noticed there were three men and a little girl already up there, and that another boy finally managed to finish the climb. She waved at them all, smiling a bit.

"Hello all." She pretended to curtsy before laughing some. "And here I thought I beat everyone. Did you all have a fun trip? I sure went on an adventure." She definitely hadn't seen it as a chore, and surely the others hadn't.

Health: 100%
Location: First Temple, Lyra Outskirts
Apparel: Purple tank top, shorts with suspenders on them, converses for shoes. On her back is a backpack with a extra set of clothes, a flashlight, some protien/energy bars, water, and a blanket.

Mood: Excited and Jolly
Mentioned: Literally Batman Literally Batman

All the dreams that Dylan had been recieving were all too real that she couldnt just ignore it. It was like her gut telling her to go somewhere and that she had somewhere to be. Not to mention these dreams had said something about a partner who would complete her. That she was a half to a whole. It was like poetry and Dylan liked it. Dylan didnt even think twice before packing up a bag and telling her Papa that she was going out on an adventure and would be back soon. As much as he loved his daughter, he gave her room to go and explore, get things done for herself and see wonders. Luckily for her though, she was able to grab a boat that gets across the large water between her home and Lyra. But she was dropped off before the forest where she'd have to cut through. She got off the boat and stood before the forest, glancing up at the sky for a moment "Oh I have plenty of time! I'll be fine!" she said happily and hurried into the forest. Climbing over large logs, going through small creeks, even going through bushes that tickled her legs and always made her think there was a bug crawling on her.

"I wish I had some music playing. Some epic adventure music." she said aloud, giggling softly as she climbed over a fallen tree and continued her journey. Of course, instead of taking in the lovely nature walk, she sometimes had to sprint, finding either a snake or an animal that freaked her out and had her running for the hills. It didnt take her long to actually find the temple and my was it beautiful. There was, however, a large pond of water between herself and the large set of doors. Though the sounds of voices were coming from it and she couldnt help but smile. There were other people here too! Were they here for the same reason? Were they explorers and decided to come here and check it out? Whoever they were, Dylan was about to meet and greet them with a lovely smile and friendly hello. Stepping into the pond, she gasped, finding the water to be pretty cold as she gritted her teeth I got this, its just water, nothing that bad. I've had worse! Walking through the cold water, she finally made it to the wall which had a waterfall coming down "Well... Looks like I have no choice but to get wet now."

Dylan began to climb up, making sure her hands had good grips on whatever lege she could, her feet following along as she got wet by the water and pulled herself up. As she got to the top, she brought her leg up and pushed, getting onto the flatter surface and sighing happily "What an Adventure!" she said aloud, only to see a lot more people than she had thought. Felt almost like a party of some sort going on in this place. But looking over everyone it seemed that some had packed just like she did. So getting up from the floor, she gave them a happy smile "Hi there, I didnt expect so many people to be here like myself." she giggled softly as she looked around at the different people. They were different ages from the looks of it. Three guys, a little girl and another female there as well. One of the Males had actually been one of her friends from back at home, Dresden! "Hey there Dre!" she said with excitement, giving him a wave. When she went to take a step, she felt how soggy her shoes were and she almost cringed at how gross it felt.

Soon, Linden would be joined by several more people, called by Life, most likely, for he doubted anybody else would want to come down to these crappy ruins just for the sights. He saw a blonde male run up, who reminded Linden of a happy golden retriever, what with his wild blonde hair and relentless happiness. It annoyed him. There was also two girls around his age who had overly cutesy annoying composures, a boy a hair younger than him who was still braving the waterfalls, Life pity him, a tiny girl who looked like she ought not to be there, and lastly a man who claimed to be her father. Judging by his looks, he didn't seem much older than Linden. The young adult gave a scoff. "Looks like somebody got into bed a little too soon."

The blonde one spoke up to him. "Not cool, man. Got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning?"

His eyes narrowed. "Well, it's true."

"Just because it's true doesn't mean you have to be a jerk."

"Whatever you say, your highness."

The blonde one shrugged and went back to talk to his long-haired friend, leaving him alone. He shrugged. That was the way he liked it.

Dresden immediately greeted the red-haired guy and his little kid when he showed up. "Aisling, huh? Aren't you cute?" He messed up her hair before turning to her father. "Dresden Solios. Dre works for me, though."

Soon others began to join them. He noticed a brunette girl and guy approach, as well as a girl he found familiar. When she spoke, he immediately remembered. "Dylan!" He wrapped his arms around her and gave her a tight squeeze. "You had that dream from Life, too? That's awesome!"

Then, he heard one of the other guys that Dre hadn't notice speak up, taking a jab at Reve. He responded to him. "Not cool, man. Got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning?"

Al Din, Fiction
Somewhere in the forest just outside of Lyra, Al regretted his decision to obey Life in his dream. Meeting with his soulmate and gaining powers was something he'd dreamt about for a long time, but he brought only enough money to pay for the train. He would have to forage for berries, like a survivalist, or starve. Of course, he'd have to avoid the poisonous berries, which one could detect by the color. How, he wasn't sure, but he'd figure it out. Otherwise the berries would poison him, and he'd have to go on a quest to find the cure. In fact, that idea abated his regret. Al shook his head. He needed to focus! He was in the woods, and he needed to find some temple, which would mark him as a terribly important person. He imagined parkouring over the trees to find it, but instead, he walked.

Al was already out of breath from walking so far, and the heat, and his heavy clothes didn't help matters much. He wasn't going to die of heat stroke twenty minutes away from civilization, was he? Oh, and his soulmate would be all alone... He closed his eyes in mourning for his poor soulmate, only to walk into a tree. "Ouch," he said loudly, hoping that someone heard him to direct him. Unfortunately, no one was around. In his search for people, however, he saw something that must have been a shrine to Life. If that wasn't the shrine Life told him to go to, then Life should move there.

Whilst thinking of everything he'd have to do once he returned home, Al reached the nice, large, dilapidated building. It was exactly what he expected. Large, magnificent, and overtaken by nature. A very fitting shrine to Life. The only issue was that there was water everywhere and he barely knew how to swim. His clothes were already designed for a colder climate, and they'd suck up the water, making swimming very difficult. He took off his shoes and socks, and tossed them to the other side of the pool. They'd be wet, but recoverable. Then, he began wading through the water, taking care to stand at the highest points so he wouldn't have to swim.

Al recovered his shoes at the other side, only to face the next issue. He had to climb up the waterfall, when his upper body strength was that of a child. He heard talking above, but he doubted anyone would be nice enough to lift him up. Then, he saw the rope. Some kind soul must have left it out for people like him. Internally thanking them, he struggled up the rope, and reached the grand entrance, which featured people. In all honesty, he half expected to be the only one there, and for it all to have been a dream, but he guessed not.

"So," he began while putting his socks and shoes back on, "crazy stuff, am I right?" He'd have to wait to learn their character archetypes, so he might as well be polite.

Anna Nakhur, Knowledge
Anna was an intellectually honest person. If evidence showed she was wrong, she would admit she was wrong. Otherwise, she'd be someone that clung to an idea, rather than facts, and that was not Anna's way. That being said, even after the dream, and even after the strange urgings to go to Lyra, Anna still had trouble believing that Life chose her. She only granted Life the cursory respect a goddess deserved, not worshipped her enough to be granted powers. Indeed, it all smelled fishy to her, but nevertheless, she was in the forest outside of Lyra. Doing a cursory amount of research, and asking some locals for directions, she found that the temple was not very deep in the forest. She brought a survival manual, just in case, but was otherwise unarmed.

She navigated her way through the forest, carefully following the directions she was given, and soon enough, she arrived at the temple. It was odd that the temple was in the outskirts of Lyra, an alive city, yet was still abandoned. Anna would have refurbished it, at least. Brushing off any insects or plants that clung to her leg, she entered the first temple.

Immediately, she saw several people standing on a platform reached by a waterfall, and one person struggling to reach the top via a length of rope. She shook her head, and waded over, not caring about getting wet. Thankfully she was wearing shorts, so they wouldn't get wet, and thus heavy. On her way over, the man that was struggling got up, without ever even noticing her.

Climbing a rope was easy enough. It wasn't exactly a far distance off of the ground. The waterfall might have been a bit bothersome to climb, so she was grateful for the rope. As she grabbed at the rope, a thought occurred. What if this rope was recently untied from its anchor? She'd fall back in the water, ruin her clothes and book, and be completely embarrassed. She tugged on the rope several times, as hard as she could, to make sure that it was properly stuck, before she dared begin to climb it. When she did, she climbed it as rapidly as she could, for fear of it snapping, or being cut, or otherwise letting her fall. Thankfully, none of this happened, and Anna was only being paranoid.

At the top, she saw four men, one of which was the one who just climbed up, a little girl, and two other women. She had no idea how many others were coming, but there were already eight, seven if you didn't include the little girl. She thought of the best greeting to give the best impression of herself. One of these might be her soulmate.
"I am eager to learn what's going on," she said, without a hint of eagerness in her voice.

Autumn sat straight up in her bed, rubbing her tired eyes as the dream flashes through her mind. The women was rather beautiful, no matter she had such a name as Life. What did she mean though? Autumn was a half to a whole? She needed to find her partner? Gain great power? None of the dream made any sense. Yet, even as she got herself together for work, she couldn't forget the dream. The case she was suppose to be filling with fabrics and sketches, turned into a suitcase she was packing with her belongings. It was almost like her actions weren't her own. Even once she got in her car, it was taking her onto a road she had never even seen before. Was this was her destiny? To go to the temple that was in her dreams? Maybe this was her chance to find something more for herself. Maybe to get out of the city that he has always been stuck in.

Her movement came with more ease as she choose to take the path to Lyra, to the temple where she was supposed to go. Autumn had to question this all but it had to be a sign, a sign that maybe working in that little shop wasn't all life had in store for her. Even as stuck in her thoughts as she was, a glimmer of red hair caught her eye and she turned her head to see a small girl, maybe around the age of 5 or 6? The small girl was waving at her excitedly and she gave the girl a small wave with a kind smile before turning her attention back to the road.

The city of Lyra looked rather beautiful but finding the city wasn't her task, it was locating the temple that the dream told her about. After searching around the city, she found a small hotel to where she could just keep her stuff for the time being. Autumn got up to the small room that would do for a couple days at least. As she looked around the room, there was a small booklet on the bedside table that read Where To Visit. Figuring she had a little bit of time, she flipped through the pages, she came across a page about the First Temple. All the information she could find was that it was on the outskirts of Lyra, nothing more.

After searching around she finally got to the general area where she thought may of been the first temple. Where else would it be? What else would it look like? All she knew was that she needed to get through this pond that was in her path and possibly even up the waterfalls, this was definitely going to be an adventure. Moving through the water was no issue but the waterfalls were something else. They may of been small but they were extremely slippery. How many times she slipped? Too many to count. Once she got up the waterfalls, she was able to get up but she could feel that the bottom half of her jeans were soaked and there were water spots on her top. Well lovely. As she uncomfortably walked in her wet jeans, she looked up and saw people standing outside a set of doors. "Hello?" She says carefully as she approached the group of people. There was a small girl there that reminded her of the girl from the car, yet, she doubted that it was the same person.

"Aww come on." Aveline complains as she treks her way through the forest. She couldn't even get herself to turn around, every time she tried, she would just always end up coming back to the same exact spot. This was all complete and utter nonsense. Seriously finding a partner? You are supposed to do that through work or at a club, not by going to a temple that was nowhere near where you live.

Th dream must of been something she conjured up with her own mind. There was no way it could even be true. That kind of stuff just doesn't happen in the real world. What made her finally get out of her head was being faced with a pond that she was going to need to get across. As she stepped in, it sent chills through her body from the cold temperature.Well, she wasn't going to let a little freezing water stop her, plus if she tried to turn around once more, she would just end up at right back at here.

As she made her way through the water, she used an already dangling rope to hoist herself up the rather slippery rocks, just to find people conversing at the top. One made a rather obvious comment and even though the blonde snapped back, she couldn't help but agree with the dark haired boy. "Well all of you got sucked into this too huh?" she says walking up and joining the group of people.

Reve looked around as more and more people began to show up. It was interesting, he hadn't expected so many people. Truthfully, he hadn't expected any of this to actually be real. But, that was life and sometimes unexpected things happened.

He and Aisling both repeated their greetings to everyone that had showed up before he looked towards Linden "Far too soon" he agreed "However, I wouldn't change a thing" he gently patted Aisling's head, it wasn't as if he was oblivious to the fact that he was too young to have a child, but "A moment of chance led to a lifetime of happiness" he said calmly.

Of course, Aisling wasn't actually paying attention, she'd spotted a familiar face "Daddy, it is the pretty lady again!" she seemed excited as she waved to the woman once more. It wasn't as if there was a lack of attractive people here, but this was someone she'd seen before.

Reve turned his head and looked at Autumn and a flicker of...something went through his chest. He gave Aisling a small smile and nodded "Well, you were very right, she is pretty" he said.

Strangely enough, it wasn't just the woman his daughter was fixated on, it was all of these people. There was a strange sense of a connection between all of them. He placed his hand in his pocket, gently touching the coin that rested there as he watched Aisling hop over to the woman.

"Hi" Aisling said giving Autumn a bow "I am Aisling Leanaí, it is nice to see you again"

Lilith Featherston, Chaos
Wearing: See above.

Humming a simple tune under her breath, Lilith trekked through the forest as she had been in for the last hour, trying to ignore the fact that the area she was traveling in was starting to look the same. No worries, she'd be fine, even if she was a tad lost. She had never been the best at directions. Life was on her side. Simple as that. Her faith was true, strong, and steadfast-

When her stomach took that opportunity to growl, she pulled a candy bar out out of the bag hanging on her hip. She bit into the chocolate, savoring the taste as her mind went over what had happened a few days previously. She had been dreaming about Karbilo and the explosion that had occurred in that detached sort of way that comes with memory related dreams, when out of nowhere a beautiful woman appeared, becoming the focus of Lilith's attention in the dreamscape. It hadn't been hard to tell the unknown woman was important in some way; she just screamed holiness and purity. As soon as Life had delivered her message and Lilith had awoken, she uttered two words, lilac eyes wide.

"Holy. Shit."

Then she proceeded to get dressed in her usual outfit, grab her wallet and pack a bag with clothing, and run down the stairs. She was alone in the house for once, which was quite the rairity, her parents and siblings had left on a trip a few days previously. After writing a hasty note on the counter for her parents to see later (she would worry about the consquences of what she was about to do...eventually), she left the house after locking it and took a taxi to the nearest airport. She arrived in Lyra many hours later, and after questioning where the temple was, starting to make her way there.

So here she was, in a forest and wondering who all she'd meet once she found the temple...wherever it was. She laughed softly at the fact that the path was supposedly straight forward, and yet she had still managed to get lost. Oops. Luckily for her, she then noticed footprints, and following them, found herself in front of what was obviously a old temple that had been overtaken partly by nature. Or maybe it was supposed to be like that. "Hm." She inclined her head to the side, nodding with her hands placed on her hips, studying the building before moving through the water, wincing slightly at the cold temperature leaking through her slacks to touch skin. As she made her through the pool of water, she suddenly regretted her choice of clothing. But nothing could be done about it now, so what use was worrying? The only thing that bothered her was that her now soaked clothing was sticking to her skin. She reached the waterfall and hearing voices, gripped the rocks behind it and began to climb up, grunting softly in exertion. Even back when she had been more active, she had never done upper body exercises much, so this was an interesting experience.

After wringing out her now wet hair and dumping a bunch of water on the floor, she whistled, marveling at the architecture now that she could get a even closer look. Seeing a fair number of people already there conversing, including a little girl, Lilith smiled and not sure what else to say, merely uttered, "Yo", to anyone who was listening.

Seventeen minutes and forty eight seconds, that's how much bloody time he'd wasted on dealing with those passing Vasquo guards. They had wanted to see his papers and his permit for the pistols. Taking them down was an expenditure of energy he didn't want. Luckily for them, he was in a rush and couldn't even spare the bullets to kill them. Dumbasses must've figured they'd just found a kid on a joyride for with his father's bike. No, the motorized piece of metal was Xerxe's pieced together by his gang as a gift for leading them for five years. "They may be dumbasses, but their my dumbasses." Xerxe muttered as the roar of the engine drowned out his words. The feeling of the wind whipping past him as he saw the outskirts of Lyra in the distance. "Need to make up some time." Shifting up a gear, Xerxe felt the sheer force of the wind pick up dramatically.

Stopping just outside the city Xerxe sighed. He didn't want to deal with people as it was a waste of time, but a bigger waste of time was walking around aimlessly. "Guess I'll head into the market." Slipping inside the city and parking his bike in some secluded back alley, Xerxe walked around the port town until he came into a market. He asked around but eventually grew irritated with sellers trying to steer the conversation. If not for the guards around, he'd likely have just pulled out a pistol and threatened someone to give him the information. With a resounding amount of frustration, Xerxe walked into a church to Life for the first time in his short time of being around.

Here he met someone that could tell he was frustrated, not that it was hard to do, and offered help. With no other choice Xerxe asked for directions. And FINALLY got an answer. Without even a thanks, Xerxe stood up and left the church, a sudden sensation of calm flowing over the attendees. With a bit more energy now, Xerxe made a b-line straight to the temple. Walking along the path Xerxe spotted people climbing up the waterfall, fighting it's current and risking losing their grip. "Wasteful." He muttered as he approached the rocks that were still relatively dry. It required a bit of strength, but this was nothing compared to a raid against armed guards. Pulling himself up onto the ledge he spotted the few others there, but ignored them and pressed inside the temple. He was here to speak with Life about why the hell he should even partake in this, not to make nice with the other "chosen".

Soleil had arrived at the temple in the middle of the night thanks to the hard work of her chauffer. Thanks to his tireless efforts she didn't have to interact with anyone at all, save for the priestess at the church who told her where this place was. She had camped out because this was the only place she could have felt calm. She watched each person walking into the temple from her place in the shadows. "Breathe Soleil, breathe." She muttered to herself as her panic stricken mind played out all the possibilities.

Maybe these people were ruffians that would hurt her. Maybe she would wind up being called weird or worse, touched, by one of these people. The thought of skin on skin contact erased any remnants of pigment on her face. "I can't do this, I can't do this." She muttered, but now there was a bigger problem. In order to LEAVE, she had to pass by all the people that had come in. She really had failed to think her plan through before just following through on it. "I just wish Life would show up already." She muttered as her eyes began to water, any minute now she would likely start crying from just the overwhelming amount of terror that grasped at her heart.

Autumn looked around at all the people that were there and more even came in behind her, but what pulled her attention was a little girl screaming to her dad about her. Wait....he looked around her age and he already had a daughter? He couldn't of been much older than her. Yet, as she saw him, she felt like she was put into almost a trance.A smile came her face as she saw the small girl with scarlet red hair came over to her in some sort of hoping fashion which made her smile just a bit brighter. As the girl bowed to her, she lowered herself onto her knees and said, "Well hello Aisling...I'm Autumn" The smile on her face didn't dissipate. "So you were the beautiful little girl in the car that was next to mine." Autumn straightened out the little girls cloak just a bit so when the water dries, the ends wouldn't be wrinkled.

As she looked over the girl, she had eyes that you could practically see the world in, and her hair made her look almost like a spitting image of her father. Her eyes kept drifting to him, just wanting to make sure she didn't do anything that would be seen as not okay in his eyes. "Well Aisling how old are you?" she says keeping her voice a bit animated since she was talking to someone as young as this girl.

Del smirked as she sauntered on over to the temple, a hand on her hip and a cigarette in her mouth. Her thick long dark hair was pulled up into a pony tail and her guns were in their rightful places. The straps on he sides. She raised one cocky eyebrow at the place and let out a low whistle. Well then.
"I reckon this is the place hmm." She sighed and cracked her knuckles. Then her shoulders. Then her neck... the her nose... one hand on her foot as she pulled it up popped her knees, a crunch of her toes and crackles rang out galore. The final pop was her back as she bounced up and down, shaking her energy up as she smiled wolfishly.

Beating Death huh? The dream chick hadn't been specific but oh well, Del was down for any fight anywhere. Inside this temple she
would find her pair.

Hmmm a partner. The idea rolled around in her head as she took a deep drag of the smoke into her lungs. "Never had a partner before. Team mates sure but they all knew who was better." She chuckled at her own wit and let her head tilt to the side as she continued to stare at the building, taking everything in. No solider entered a place without knowin' the ins and outs.

A partner would be an equal right? Someone to kick ass and take names with. The thought made her excited. And with that she moseyed her way on inside. The place was chalk full of people! Small people, big people, tough lookin' people and jittery lookin' folks as well.
"Well whoopdy do, ain't this a party."

She said, not lowering her voice or shying away from eye contact as a smirk went on her lips. She stood there, feet shoulder length apart and hands on her hips as she surveyed the crowd. Some women she had noticed became quiet or timid around large groups. They scrunched up on 'emsleves as if they didn't have a right to take up space. Del knew first impressions mattered and she would stand big and strong for this group and her future partner to see. She wasn't sorry for being big and loud and would not take none from nobody here. Better assert her dominant personality now so they all knew who they were messin' with.

Aisling smiled at how nice Autumn was before she paused and lifted a hand up, counting on her fingers "I'm...2..3.." she looked back at Autumn "I'm five years old" she said with confidence before she turned and held out her hand to her father "Daddy, come meet...Autumn.." she paused to make sure she remembered the name right before nodding.

Reve chuckled softly as he walked over "Good afternoon" he said as he came to stand beside his daughter, his voice tinged with the amusement of seeing his daughter happy over meeting someone "It is a pleasure to meet you, I am Reve Leanaí, I do apologize if this brings you any inconvenience, but I always encourage Aisling to pursue her desires, and it seems that she's desired to meet you ever since she saw you on the road"

"What an interesting turn of the coin that we happened to be going in the same direction" after all, for him, it was as simple as flipping a coin. They could have easily continued on to Osakange, though Reve was unaware of Life's manipulations of his luck to get him here. However, even if he knew, he always accepted a choice. Once he flipped the coin, he rarely changed his mind.

Several people came into the temple over the next few minutes. How many people were coming? There were already so many. It began to make Al feel a little less special. He wondered if his soulmate was already here, and who she'd be. The woman hiding in the corner seemed somewhat similar to him, but he wasn't as much of a coward as she seemed to be. Ah, but no doubt she'd be the most willing to stand up for her friends if necessary, even against her greatest fears. In any case, he was sure Life would reveal it to them soon, so now it was time to socialize. He didn't have the face to pull off the stoic loner look like some of these people.

Al stood up, his socks squishing a little in his shoes, making him feel like he should have gone barefoot while they dried. He was sure having wet shoes would come in handy. Somehow. He looked over at the newest summonee, an arrogant looking woman with guns. She was taller than him, but not so much so that he had to crane his neck, which he was grateful for. If Al's experience identifying characters held any merit whatsoever she had one of two personalities. She was either reliable, but outspoken and opinionated, or had an affectionate, informal outside hiding a dangerous inside. He walked over to greet her, holding out his hand.
"I'm Al. You have a dangerous aura, you know? Do you work inside the law or outside of it?" Al wasn't very good at starting conversations.

Del looked at the man coming to speak to her. She grinned and cocked her head to the side as her posture relaxed. Shaking his hand she spoke in usual outgoing manner. “How da ya do stranger. And yes I would suppose I do know the law seeming as I am in the military.” She laughed, slapping him on the back as she looked around.
“Lot’s of dangerous auras round here but yep you sure could count mine with ‘em.” She raised an eyebrow, smirking at him. “I’m Del. You had the Life dream too? Can’t wait to meet the partner I’m gunna get to meet and kick ass with.”

She took in Al, his short stance, hi white unkempt hair. He was physically weaker then her, she picked that out quite quick. Hmm his clothes were all plain so no rich boy. Del really didn’t know what to make out of him.

“Well aren’t you somthin’.” Del laughed, unafraid and unbarred. She didn’t give a care in the world what people thought of her. She shifted and cracked her back again as she looked at the people. Some were lookin’ mighty pissed off. Others were hidin’ in the corners. Curiouser and Curiouser.

“I wonder what your partner is gunna look like Stranger. Got any ideas when this party is gunna get started?”
Del had traveled a long way to be here since that dream in her bunk. Had hoped out right from bed and made a lone mission through the pits of hell where she had been stationed. All sanctioned of course but begrudgingly. This leave would be a black stain on her record but her core knew just how valuable the young woman was.

Xerxe was sitting inside the temple listening to the idle chatter as he looked at his pocket watch, another "gift" he'd acquired in his travels. Several minutes had already passed by in the blink of an eye. "Life sure is patient. Of course she never specified a time we should arrive." He grumbled as he contemplated walking away, but the sound of a boisterous woman saying she was part of the military froze him in his tracks.

"Shit." He cursed under his breath as his hands instinctively moved to the pistols on his side. If she was military then she probably knew of his gang. Though they had no name ,they made quite the statement by attacking every single caravan that came into Karblio. And as their leader he was pretty infamous for their precision timing and ruthlessness. "This day just gets better and better." He sighed while trying to not show the stress he was feeling from being in the presence of so many people. His eyes wandered about til he caught sight of a girl that looked like she was having the time of her life just being here, well there were two like that, but the one Xerxe was focused on wasn't talking with people.

Taller than him, long black hair and a face that said she didn't have a CLUE about the real world. Yup, one of those airhead types that are just filled with curiosity. Xerxe felt a small tug at himself as he watched her. Nope. Not getting involved. Learned that lesson long ago. He clicked his tongue as he looked over to see some spoiled rich kid who looked as pissed off as he was. "You look like you'd rather be anywhere else too." Xerxe knew that just standing around would be a waste of time and so would talking, but one of those options would leave him bored senseless.

Thaddeus approached the road to the temple with a gleam in his eyes and a cruel smirk firmly planted on his face. I get to explore the world and preach the truth of despair all while being proclaimed a hero by Life? Oh what a glorious day to make some more money off the fools who so willing accept the inevitability of death and failure. He chuckled softly as he slowly walked along the path until he hit the pool of water. Taking off his glasses, Thaddeus just smirked before sloshing through the puddle as if falling into it was going to happen without fail, but it never did.

Reaching the other side he smirked as he found the rope that someone had KINDLY left behind. "Fools should know this is likely to be taken." He shrugged as he climbed up with relative ease and was thankful for the magic drying effect that occurred when he hit the top. "Well, at least Life knows how to treat her guests." He smiled as he looked at each of the people before him. Now was the time for a bit of a grand introduction. "Hello fellow heroes of Life." He smiled as he bowed to them all. "Isn't it just glorious that we get the opportunity to be at the forefront of the greatest threat and despair inducing event in the history of man? AND, that we get a chance to do something amazing with our lives that no others will experience? It's quite the thrill." Thaddeus lied about being excited for the experience of saving the world. He was excited to be thrown into the pit of despair and truly let everyone else experience what it felt like to be at the bottom, because these people would show their true selves when that time came.

A few days before...

Snow blinked as she tossed up the rope over the wall with the rock secured to the end. It wrapped around the tree branch and the small girl couldn’t help doing a happy little dance. Snow had done it! Her eyes peered at the gardens that surrounded her… oh she would miss them a lot… but she needed this. Needed to go to Lyra where the dream had told her a partner was waiting. A friend maybe? Oh she was so excited… She put her feet in the loops she had made in her rope and began to climb, finding her footing in one loop at a time. She had a medium bag on her back filled with supplies and coin. With luck it would last her the trip.
She huffed her cheeks out as they flushed with the effort she put into climbing. Goodness she needed to start working out… With a final heave and whimper she made it over the wall. Success! Now it was only to climb down and get out of the city… She grinned, hope lighting up her face. She totally had this!!
Present Day...
She looked around the waterfall, her hair a bit frazzled as she grinned. Yaaay she had made it! She knew if she had believed hard enough it would happen! She noticed a loud woman talking with a short man and smiled at the two with a nod. But it was the guy with blonde hair and kinda… well whackadoodle eyes who caught her attention. Hmm he was sure excited to be a hero! Oh she wished she had that kind of positivity.
A man stood in a corner with his daughter talking to another girl. Huh… kids were brought here? Snow bit her lip, blowing out all the negative vibes in her head. “I got this…” She said softly, resolving her determination and hope in the situation.

Al didn't like the way she took him in. He was the person that watched other people, and he didn't even do it that well. Perhaps it came with being in the military, or some other quirk she had, but he didn't like it one bit. At least she wasn't too offended by the implication that she was a criminal. Reliable, he decided. Hopefully.

Right before Al could say anything, someone came up, and gave a very bizarre speech. It sounded... very malevolent. He even bowed. From the looks of him, he'd be the one to betray them halfway through. Al thought of how to reply to that villainous speech, before deciding that not doing so was the best idea.

He returned his eyes to Del. Del probably stood for Delilah, assuming her parents didn't name her Del. Of course, it could also stand for Deliah, Delana, delicate, delicious, any number of words Probably Delilah, though. "My partner will have broad shoulders so they can carry me, because that's the only kind of person I can love. Then I wouldn't have to do anything." Al paused a moment before realizing he didn't answer her actual question. "I assume it'll start when everyone else arrives," he said to Del. He had about as much of an idea as she did, but it seemed like a good guess. "Or maybe it's whenever we decide to head in. I wonder what would happen if someone went in and their partner didn't. I hope Life isn't an angry goddess." If she was, then she'd probably punish those that went alone. He didn't want to think about that, given that they were going to fight Death. "I bet your partner is a mercenary on the other side of the law." And she'd learn to be a little more flexible with justice, and her partner would stop being a mercenary and become part of the military. "That's who I'd put you with, at least."

Shashi Lala Anande had arrived around the same time as several of the others who had apparently been called upon by the being known as "Life", or that's what Shashi had assumed anyway, she had noticed the gazes mixing of determination and a bit of anger and some confusion, Shashi was very water-like herself though and when she'd been pulled away from Nemea she hadn't protested, everyone said she had the aura of a gypsy anyway. She was calm and completely silent though as she had watched everyone else approach the temple waterfall, blending into the shadows rather easily because of her natural temperament and mood, what was more concerning for Shashi was how weirdly complete she felt as she simply stood in this temple, as if she'd always been meant to be here. After a few more minutes of watching silently she approached the waterfall herself and stepped under it just letting it sort of rain on her for a bit before she quickly and with a natural grace lifted herself up the rocks and walked over to the gathering group of people.

The mysterious and silent blue haired girl, with her naturally dark skin which was speckled with tiny freckles; that upon close inspection were almost star shaped, stood silently, not saying a word or even offering any sort of greeting her heart was pounding in her chest and she didn't like it anywhere near the larger group. Quietly she moved a bit away from all the others and stood off on her own, watching and listening to their conversations. If her nerves could relax she'd feel much better, as she thought this her eyes sparked a bit, the odd purple orbs focusing on a wall behind the group and she hummed very quietly to herself calming herself quickly, though she still didn't speak a word and instead began inspecting her cuticles as if bored, probably because she was extremely bored right then and only wanted answers on why she was here with strangers she didn't know or even like, they all talked too much.

Why in Life's name had Damiana Tessaro been dragged to the outskirts of Lyra? She hadn't been able to resist the pull of the temple since she had woken up from that dream about 'Life' supposedly, if Damiana was being honest she didn't believe in any of this, yes war and chaos had been running rampant but that was just the way of the world. Long stretches of peace couldn't last forever. Still Damian had been dragged out to this abandoned place by some strange string, she hoped whatever it was would simply pass and she could turn and walk away from this place now; she tried...multiple times honestly but she'd get maybe ten feet from the temple before that string jerked her back, Damiana was sick of it. "I have work to do you freaking annoying dream woman!" She screeched this at the sky before storming into the building where she almost immediately jerked to a stop and took a deep breath, the pillars, the dragon statues, the waterfalls, even the vine covered walls looked perfectly in place within the temple. Oh she had noticed the beautiful architecture outside too...but had been so keen to get away she had actually stomped down her desire to swoon over the perfect design, she could no longer ignore it though.

Instead of climbing the waterfall Damiana walked over to the dragon statue and gasped softly as she ran her fingers over it, it was so pretty...being the woman obsessed with architecture as she was she couldn't stop herself from running her fingers over the walls, the pillars, the stones and mortar that held the building together. "This, this is the sort of building I dream of creating...something so iconic it never fades even when nature takes hold of it again..." she gives her head a small shake and looks around sort of nervously, wondering if anyone caught her marveling.

Taking a deep breath Damiana turns away, managing to pull herself away, quickly and efficiently she pulls herself up the waterfall and makes her way to the alter, following the voices she heard, when she arrived she couldn't help the squeal of delight as she saw the alter itself, it was so old and beautiful she couldn't help but dash past the others and circle it totally ignoring them as she ran her fingers along some of the stones and sighed contently. "This place is trying to steal my heart~!" She spoke cheerfully before finally turning her attention to the others and smiling as she wiggles her fingers at everyone else grinning brightly, "Well hello, hello everyone~! I'm Damiana Tessaro, architect master extraordinaire, it's such a pleasure to meet you! So is everyone here because of that silly dream about the one supposedly called 'Life'?" Damiana was probably annoyingly blantent about her disbelief but she didn't really mind, she believed in the success of hard work and that was it.

Aveline ended up stepping back and mainly observing the situations around her instead of engaging. Everyone seemed caught up in their own conversations anyway...some one on ones, and others in groups, wondering why on earth they were there. That was definitely going through her mind. What caught her eye was a guy, with blonde hair that looked way to excited to honestly be true, plus his words just were off. But, it was probably just her own mind creating things that weren't there.

Figuring she had nothing else to do, she approached the new guy that arrived. Walking over to him, he definitely towered over her but didn't make her steps falter. "Well you're way to excited, care to share why? I mean all of us were dragged out of our perfectly fine lives to find what? A prank. I don't know if you saw but, look around you, 'life' isn't here." she says a bit of an amused tone since all of this, really wasn't her cup of tea.

"Oh my goodness, 5? Well you are practically a lady." She gave Aisling a smile and gave the little girl a little tap on her nose. As she saw the father walking over, she stood up quickly. She finally took a good look at him. Autumn saw almost what looked like a tattoo on his neck and part of his face, but it definitely fit him. His green eyes almost seemed like magic, she felt like she would get stuck in them if she stared at them for too long. Autumn looked away for a second before meeting his gaze once more, clearing her throat, then speaking.

"No...no it isn't an inconvenience at all, she has very good manners for a child of her age. That comes from a good father." she says with a smile. "As you probably heard, my name is Autumn, Autumn Dixon. It is a pleasure to meet you as well." As he spoke, she did realize that it was quite, as he put it, 'a turn of the coin.' "Well I guess it was, but I find it a bit hard to find the reason why we are here, nothing has happened since anyone has arrived."

Thaddeus was met quickly by a girl with brunette hair that wanted to be confrontational. Oh the sweet glory of throwing caution to the wind as darkness would befall them all. "I'm simply expressing the elation of having my heartstrings tugged by a force that I can neither see nor fight against. Isn't it something interesting to know that within our reality there is a being out there that can control our very lives and dictate each action we take. It almost makes living life seem pointless, but here we are, pressing back against the darkness that will consume us as if we stand a chance against something so overwhelmingly powerful." Thaddeus was being his archbishop self. "It's almost so disheartening that I'd like to cry or wallow in the pool beneath us, and yet I find myself intrigued to see more of what this awe inspiring god can do. And if we can overcome death, then is there ever truly anything to fear or despair over? If we mortals can conquer a god, why we could change the very reality before us. It's maddening to think anyone would miss out on this opportunity to experience such a roller coaster of emotions and desires."

Looking down to the girl, Thaddeus put his shades back on and continued to smirk. "My dear, you trust too much to your weak sense of reality. But let me put the truth before you, minus the young child we are at an odd number of people. And she said we'd have partners that are our opposites. Which means not everyone has arrived. Also, from what I can tell there are too many people similar to one another here to be enough pairings. Ultimately Life won't show herself until the time is right and all the pieces are on the board, so to speak. Or would you rather try and despair over the fact that you wasted your time here? Either option is suitable to me, but having accepted the worst outcome, I am always pleasantly surprised by the best." Thaddeus' tongue moved like a serpent. Everything he said was either him construing the information to fit his needs or trying to tear someone down. This was the former.
(Note that Thaddeus is not including Soleil as she hasn't been spotted yet, thus him saying odd number.)

The people continued flowing into the temple. Even in her corner, where she remained unnoticed, the terrified girl continued her prayers to Life. Please just don't let them find me. Please don't let them find me. She looked between each individual here. Two of them brought guns?! Guns?! Were they expecting to kill people here? More panic set in as Soleil curled into a ball further in the dark corner. "Coming here was a bad idea. If I could just run away...." But that thought was quickly squashed by the overwhelming pull of Life's message in her dream. "I just need to breathe." Taking deep breaths the girl watched as a newcomer started spouting fanciful words out about being a hero.

"We're not heroes yet. We're just a bunch of kids being asked for help by a god." Soleil moved along the shadows towards the altar and knelt down, still trying her best to stay out of sight. She knelt down once again. "Life, here my prayer, please allow us all to get along. And let no violence start up among us before we even begin our quest." Soleil felt a sense of calm wash over her as she threw her worries to the goddess. If there was anything that could relieve her fears it was the presence of Life.

Katherine Kyverski

Health: 100%
Location: Lyra - The Forest - The First Temple
Mood: Irritable
Approaching: Aura Of Twilight Aura Of Twilight
It was supposed to be a normal day. A normal night, followed by a normal day. But of course, that wasn't how it went.

So what if Kathy had a weird dream the night before? There was work to be done. So she tried to ignore the dream. Little did she know this would prove impossible.

Sitting down at her desk, she began working on a paper she needed to write.
"I am ... Life." The words echoed in Katherine's head. What did they mean? There was no way it was real. Kathy was no special person, certainly no one the Gods would talk to. It was, after all, a dream.

"
Death haunts around every corner." Of course he does. Death is always only one mistake away. One mile per hour too fast, one angry comment to the wrong person, one taste of something you're allergic to... Death is always near. I'm sure I was just subconsciously worried about my inevitable demise.

"...you are a Partner, one half of a whole." One half of a whole? That doesn't even make sense. I'm fine on my own. Always have been. Kathy thought, but even she knew that it was eerily accurate. She had always felt like something was missing from her life. Some goal that she hadn't taken into account... But if she really did have a partner, why had she felt attraction to people before? Shouldn't she inherently know? If she really was "one half of a whole."

Then again, she never really lasted with those people. Never even liked them as much more than a friend. She had thought of them as means to an end-- she needed a spouse eventually, and it seemed natural for her to search. But none of them had been anything more than failed attempts to be what society told her to be.

"You must go to the First Temple..." No. Ominous as the dream may be, it was just that. And Katherine would not, under any circumstance, let a dream tell her what to do. I'm not some adventurer. I can't go on a quest to the forest to visit a holy temple just on the off chance my "Partner" is there! I just won't-- It was like the thought was ripped from her head. A burning sensation flared to life all over her body, and she felt compelled by some invisible force to go. And angry as it made her, she could do nothing but submit to the magic that was overpowering her being.

So now she walked through the woods, wearing a gray tank top, jeans and tennis shoes-- the perfect hiking outfit. Not to forget her backpack containing a water bottle, two protein bars and a small map she printed from the internet. Surprisingly, she found that the path to the temple was fairly obvious- it looked like it had been trekked recently, covered in fresh footprints.

"Then, save the world." What did she mean? That Kathy entering a relationship was going to... what? End all wars? Solve world hunger? What could one couple possibly do? There are so many problems in this world. What could a bunch of couples do? Love away all the evil? She thought skeptically.

Approaching the temple, Kathy saw that she would have to climb her way in. Not only that, but she would have to wade through water and climb up using rocks behind a waterfall. Of course I f*cking do... She thought, a vein pulsing in her forehead.

She sighed, but marched into the water, immediately regretting her choice in shoes. How was I supposed to know there would be creek stomping? She grumbled internally, but waded through the water regardless. She looked around the walls-- surely the waterfall couldn't be the only way up, right?

But even scrounging the walls for any sign of good climbing areas, she couldn't find any. There were no places for her to put her feet, or her fingers slipped, or she otherwise couldn't use any other surfaces.

Well, great. Good thing I'm going in wearing a tank top. This won't be see through or anything... She thought sarcastically, regretting her choice in clothing. At least it will dry fast...

She ground her teeth and began climbing the wall, grabbing rocks with wet fingers and pulling herself up with what little strength she had. Although she had a few close calls, Kathy managed to make it up the rocks without any major damage coming to her. Thank the Gods... She thought, taking a look around and trying not to imagine what state her clothing was in.

There were a number of people loitering around in the temple, but one in particular caught her eye. A woman about her age with long blonde hair stood a few feet away, wet from her own adventure with the waterfall, mumbling something to no one in particular. Kathy didn't know why she felt pulled to this woman-- she looked nothing like anyone Kathy would want to associate with-- but she felt compelled to talk to her, and Kathy had learned not to ignore compulsions anymore.

Walking up to the girl, Kathy felt out of place as she had no plan. Okay, normally I talk to people with goals in mind. What goal am I trying to achieve by talking to her? To get rid of this feeling, I guess. Then there. As soon as I stop feeling... compelled to do this, then I can stop talking to her. Or I can figure out why I feel compelled, and go from there... Her mind whirring, Kathy approached the lonely looking girl.

"Hello. My name is Katherine Kyverski. What is yours?" She asked directly, holding out a somewhat damp hand for the girl to shake.

Dylan smiled happily as Dre wrapped his arms around her, giving her a tight squeeze which made her laugh "I did! I'm happy to see you here too!" she hugged him back and closed her eyes, glad that she was able to run into someone she actually knew here so she wasnt entirely alone on this trip. Her eyes shifted over to a grumpy male who started to talk rudely towards one of the males here "That's not very nice!" she yelled, pulling from Dre's hug and putting her hands on her hips "What gives you the right to say something like that? Who cares how old he is or who did what, at whatever time. At least he's happy with the gift he was given!" That was just plain rude of the sour puss! Anyways, she looked around as more and more people began to show up, now this place looked like there was a party going on rather than a lovely group of people to go exploring into the ruins. Then everyone was talking among one another and she blinked, looking between everyone and she couldnt help but let her eyes land on a particular boy who seemed to be fairly quiet.

He had short brown hair and lovely green eyes that probably any girl would love... Something about him just sent a billion Signals to her and she couldnt help but feel the need to say hello and make him feel just as welcome! Dylan looked at Dre and tapped him "Hey, I'mg onna go say hi to that guy over there, he looks really lonely and I wanna cheer him up!" she smiled and then hurried away, moving towards the male and standing in front of him "Hello there!" she said happily, giving him a nice smile and a nice wave "I'm Dylan, what's your name?" being happy and friendly was something she loved being, especially trusting people... Trusting people she loved to do but sometimes..she got hurt in the process. "I promise I wont bite so you dont have to worry, you can trust me." she assured, looping her hands around the straps of her backpack straps. Dylan hoped that she didnt just scare the man... That wouldnt go well on her record for being the nicest person...like...ever.

(Im winging stuff because idk wtf is goin on xDDD)
