All I really want is something beautiful to say,
To never fade away,
I wanna live forever!
The Story...
Once upon a time, there lived a land by the name of Storybook. It was pure, untainted by corruption nor death. The creatures that called this place their home lived in harmony. No fighting, no anger. Simply peace. This went on for many years. Each creature had had a happy beginning to their story, and now they were starting to get their happy ending. They all lived happily ever after.
The End...
If a happy ending meant dying slowly, watching as their existence was wiped out of the Book. These creatures were dead now. Everything they had stood for disappeared. Storybook itself lived on. Other creatures were created. These next stories tainted the land. They were the first of many, speaking of death and of evil things. The land was poisoned by these stories, though these creatures died easily for the world did not take them well.
The poison was already injected into the land, so when others were created, their own lives were tainted by those before them. They were the new versions, the ones who were supposed to live happy and peaceful lives. These stories became famous, and newer versions continued to be added to Storybook. They were named Fairytales, creatures with wonderful stories to be read by all.
Peace covered the land again, but the poison was not to be forgotten. A few Fairytales got bored with the tranquility. They made a plan to rule the land of Storybook with an iron fist. It was the perfect idea, in their eyes. They took over easily, attacking the unsuspecting Fairytales. They called themselves the Governmentale, a group of Fairytales who now controlled every Fairytale that lived in Storybook.
The Death.
The Governmentale forced the other Fairytales to live their stories over and over again, thoroughly exhausting them. They did this in order to kill them off for the mere reason that they were getting bored of their stories. The slow death of Fairytales offered them some entertainment. They killed off quite a few Fairytales with this method. New ones always appeared in Storybook, but they kept getting suffocated by the Govermentale.
Some old stories continued to live on. The Fairytales knew that their end would soon approach as well, so they held off the inevitable with magic. However, they didn't want to depend on the witch they had recieved the magic from. These Fairytales went to her for guidance on what to do. They wanted to find out how to live forever. She told them of another land, a land that had creatures called Humans living in it. There they would find the answer to eternal life.
Keep me dumb, keep me paralyzed.
Why try swimming? I'm drowning in fable.
You're not that saint that you externalize,
You're not anything at all.
The Information...
- First off, the definition of eternal: Lasting or existing forever; without end or beginning.
This is what the Fairytales want. They want to live forever, basically, and so they travel to the human world to find this eternal life.
Along the way, they have to deal with the Governmentale and impending death. - While the Fairytales are searching for eternal life, they are still under the control of their government. Their lives are slowly ebbing away as time passes by. However, it is your choice whether or not you want a character of yours to die. The Fairytales are searching for eternal life while trying to dodge the Governmentale as much as they can. Along the way, they suffer through hallucinations of their stories.
- We will all play as fairy tale characters. If you want to be Goldilocks, go right ahead. One of the Three Little Pigs? Go right ahead! You can use any Fairytale you want, whether they're famous of not. Please read the notes in the Sign-Up section of the roleplay to correctly create your character.
The characters are called Fairytales. Singular, Fairytale. Their stories themselves are called fairy tales. There's a difference. - The setting will be the human world. Basically sometime in the middle of Fall. A suburban area, at the start, with a large city near it perhaps. Something like that. The setting's up for discussion.
Something like this maybe?:
- The Governmentale is certainly a force to be reckoned with. The members are very powerful, though of course each character has his/her own weakness. You may certainly play as a member of the Governmentale, it is allowed.
- Each Fairytale(except members of the Governmentale) has a ribbon tied around a certain part of their bodies. An arm, a leg, an ankle, a neck. Anyplace. These ribbons are magic and are basically slowly killing off your character by replaying their story over and over again in their minds. You can indeed choose to kill off your character with this ribbon. You can also choose to make your character take their ribbon off, but again, the ribbon is magic. Taking it off would also take off the body part below the ribbon. If the ribbon is around your ankle, your foot's going. If the ribbon is around your neck, you're basically dead if you take it off. So, it's actually quite a risk. (Inspired by The Wolf Among Us.)
The Rules...
1. No overpowered characters. This means that your character cannot know everything, your character cannot win every fight, and your character cannot be invincible.
2. You are not allowed to dodge every attack thrown at you. The same thing with hitting. The person you are battling decides whether your attack hits or not.
3. Yes, your characters may die. You may give someone permission to kill a character off, or you may do it yourself.
4. 4 characters at a time for each person! You may kill off these characters if you'd like. You can always make more.
5. If two people are fighting in a battle or having a discussion where no one else is involved, their postings cannot go past a page. This means, 10 posts and that's it for the two people. You have to give other people a chance to post, so they don't get left behind.
6. Romance is allowed, but you should know RPN's rules. If things get heated, you fade to black.
7. No controlling other people's characters!
8. 1 paragraph at least, but I ask that you give your posts some depth. Also, proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling is a necessity. No txt tlk liek dis.
The Thanks.
A special thank you to Seether's song Words As Weapons! It inspired this roleplay. Everything in italics is lyrics from this wonderful song!
