hi, friends. my name is Lan, but feel free to call me cap, marv, or any variation thereof; in a pinch, i'll also respond to "hey you." i've recently been hit out of the blue with an intense desire to revisit my roots- quite literally the very first rp i ever joined here was like this- and try my hand at another good old-fashioned political fantasy rp. however, due to my inability to find such a thing that satisfies my cravings, i have been forced to make it myself. if you're also in the mood to write about assassinations both staged and genuine, enemies turned friends turned enemies again, bastard nobles and noble bastards, and all other manner of court intrigue shenanigans, then this is the interest check for you!

about us:
= i'm an adult, and i'd prefer if you were one too. please nobody under 18.
= i'm an advanced lit, novel/la style, multi paragraph writer with a big emphasis on detail. i enjoy when partners also regularly write multiple meaty paragraphs, but as long as you give me something to work with, s'all good, man.
= i enjoy ooc chatter a perfectly normal amount. let's send each other music, memes, random 3am ramblings, etc.

about this rp:
DISCLAIMER: this is a search for an original rp, with original characters, settings, and plots.
= vibes: due to its inherent nature as political fantasy, this rp will likely skew toward the serious end of the scale. that said, i'm all for spicing things up with moments of levity and hope in the name of keeping things from getting too depressing.
= worldbuilding: this comes with the territory of an original rp. while we can save a lot of the more intricate and obscure details for later, there are a few broad strokes that we absolutely must paint right away- at least two kingdoms, some of their histories, the royal families that lead them, the lands they occupy, and the current state of the world. even though i love this step with all my heart, i also love to collaborate and hear your ideas; if you leave all the heavy lifting to me, we probably won't get along.

*a young noble wants to research their family's history, but inconsistencies start piling up almost immediately.
*an established arranged marriage goes wrong.
*during a time of supposed peace, one kingdom suddenly attacks another.
*on a diplomatic mission, a member of the royal family and their retinue are ambushed.
*the sitting ruler is suddenly usurped.
*two kingdoms set up an arranged marriage to declare an alliance, but somebody tries to sabotage it before it becomes official.
