Fantasy Dragons [and] Trinkets

Character Bio
595274595275
Female - Caucasian

*Hybrid Form*
Hair shift to a lighter white like hue. Bat like leather wings, long serpentine tail, nails are longer and very sharp.

Calm personality, tends to take things in stride. Can be cool and collected under pressure, has a high breaking point. When angry she doesn't hold back.
Nowhere near a fashionesta, tends to dress casual. Doesn't really care what others think.

After incident turning her into a cursed human she's gotten a bit of a dragon temper. Easy to agitate, and easier to provoke. Somewhat can't control her new found strength, resulting in injury to herself and others around her. She still cares about people, and hates this new part of herself.

Her dragon form consists of feathers mixed with scales. (A somewhat fluffy dragon) She can fly, and carry upwards of two adult humans if need be. She can only maintain this form for short periods after gaining a large amount of energy. This energy can be either through food consumption or magical means. From head to tip of tail she's around 30 feet long and can stand at around 10 feet high.

Today was like any other. A bright sunny spring time morning, nothing out of the ordinary. A few clouds dotted the skies above, as birds soared overhead. A cool breeze kicked up, a shiver ran down her spine as she tugged on her jacket tighter. A day off, nothing better to do, so a trip out sounded nice. Billboards and various posters pinned to the local coffee shop had gotten into her head the idea of visiting the local museum. It seemed they had acquired a rare exhibition of ancient European artifacts and the accompanying photos piqued her interest. Drawings of knights in shining glistening armor, of rare gems and trinkets, and the varying outfits worn from peasants to nobility. On any normal day she would have said no, museums were never her passion, but today given she literally had nothing better to do, she decided why not. Maybe she'd find some neat souvenir.

Being a Saturday the place was a bit crowded, though crowded meaning a handful of patrons. More people than Mitsuki liked, she slunk to the back after paying for her admission. A guide was supposed to lead them, as the artifacts were behind glass and even roped off with a velvet curtain from the main attractions. Luckily the grandparents and children ventured off towards the more child-friendly exhibits, leaving Mitsuki with the college aged and above crowd. The typical spiel unfolded as the guide introduced herself, talked briefly about what they'd see beyond the red velveteen drapes, and informed everyone no touching or flash pictures. She almost chuckled as her mind ventured to all the amusement park rides as her brain switched over to the Spanish that would always play after the English parts. The guide merely rose a brow as she stared at her, making Miki sink further into her jacket as she buried her face. /Why me?/ She thought as the guide undid the rope and pulled back the curtain.

Glass cases adorn the walls as various objects laid neatly on top of satin pillows and sheets. Rusty old daggers and swords, moth eaten garments with tattered holes, and of course the jewelry. Stones that shimmered eerily in their cabinets, almost seeming like they'd come to life or burst into flames. Deep rich reds, passionate greens and blues; the colors were so vivid and bright it was scary. Even the guide had to take pause at the cases holding these rare beauties. "Yes, these are indeed the rarest gemstones you'll ever find. Some are said to be one of a kind, their collective worth could buy the whole world over twice." Some 'ohs' escaped the group, even Mitsuki was pressed up looking. The guide pointed to the centerpiece, a big hunk of a necklace with a mid-sized stone inlaid in it's center. "That is the prized piece of the set. Nicknamed the Dragons Blood Stone, it's a rich red ruby inlaid in a gorgeous gold chain..." As the guide talked Mitsuki lost focus. Her eyes kept dancing over the pieces, especially the one at the center. Yet, the more she examined the piece the more she felt something was.. off about it. Maybe it was the way the light refracted in the gem, or how the metal seemed a bit too polished for it's age; whatever it was she couldn't put her finger on it. Compared to the other pieces it looked off. She chalked it up to just having a poor eye for antiques. Not like she wore any jewelry anyhow, what would she know about it.

Once the guide had finished her routine everyone was free to roam about. With one last glance at the dragon's blood stone she headed off towards the gift shop. Plush, shirts, various magnets and such, the typical junk one finds were present. A table with the current exhibits merch was proudly displayed front and center. Little dragon and knight plushies, a shirt with simple text of the exhibitions name, then there was a rack of jewelry. Obviously knock-offs of the ones shown, and the big bad boy himself the dragon blood one was there. Something about the thing really had stuck with her, and not wanting one from the front she snagged one from the back and proceeded to check out. With purchase in tow she headed out, as her stomach started to gurgle. It was noon, lunch was in order. A fast food restaurant was just a quick walk from there, and it was still nice weather out. A short walk wouldn't hurt.

Digging into the plastic bag she withdrew the souvenir. Holding up the package to the sunlight she frowned, then squinted. "Huh.. this seems to be.. sparkling.." Unlike the one before, the one in the case, this one seemed really bright and kind of hypnotizing. Fumbling with the plastic seal she slid it out onto her palm. The thing even seemed to be warm to the touch, though it could have been just the sunlight warming it up. Yes, that had to be it. With the item now out she unclasped it and placed it around her neck. Pulling back her hair from underneath the chain she held up the gem in her palm. That warmth was still there and did it seem to be growing hotter? Dropping her hand she reached up and opened the door to the establishment. The rich aroma of cooking oils and meat greeted her nose, as her stomach gave a lurch. Then another lurch as pain shot up her abdomen. Gasping as a hand clutched her side she stumbled inside. /Bathroom/ A quick glance and the familiar stick people pointed her in the right direction as she hurried inside. Thankful for an open stall she slid inside slamming the metal door with a firm twist of the knob.

Warmth radiated from her chest, as she gasped between gritted teeth. Pulsating waves of pain followed by warmth followed by pain once more. Was she dying? A heart attack? Her eyelids shut tight, the pain too great. Her body slumped to the filthy tiled floor as she leaned up against the toilet for support. She felt like she was being boiled alive, everything was aching, hurting, as a single tear rolled down her face her world fell into darkness.

What could only be described as a volcanic eruption burst forth from the depths of the restaurant. Food was sent flying, pipes burst, as the windows exploded outwards sending glass shards like confetti onto the parking lot. Panic ensued as people fled. The whole scene was a mass chaos of french fry oil, patties, and napkins as the soda machine dispensed out dr pepper from it's wound. Dust and smoke bellowed up, engulfing the back and hiding it's new found resident.

The pain had subsided, but a slight ringing was still emanating from her ear drums. Groaning she tried to stand but found herself already up. Odd. Opening her eyes she saw the bathroom, yet where was the door? For that matter where was the stall? A splash of water turned her attention to the now busted open sink, as it gurgled bubbling every other squirt sending splash back into her face. Opening her mouth she tried to speak, but only grunts and bellowing tones exited her lips. Blinking surprised she tried again to form words, and again only what sounded like lions roaring greeted her. Ok. Weird. Maybe she did have a stroke and this was just the aftermath. Thinking maybe she should find a person to help she tried once again to move, but her body wouldn't budge. Tilting her head she noticed a feathery long body with shimmering scales where her body should have been. Huh. Ok. Again, she was trying to think maybe her brain was malfunctioning and was hallucinating this whole thing. Another tug the body moved with her, and again no movement. A thudding sound caught her attention, as she noticed a long tail thumping up against the tiled wall. When she thought about it the thing wiggled thumping once more. /Is that mine?/ No. It couldn't be. She couldn't have magically turned into.. into a.. what was she? The thought hurt her head as a clawed hand reached up to try and tug on the now shredded jacket. Right, that was no more, it laid around her like petals, ripped to a million pieces thanks to this giant body busting out all alien style. Why was this happening?

Either it as a bear attack and the creature somehow managed to get into the bathroom....or something else like a crazed experiment gone wrong that could roar like that. Katudo knew it was foolish to check it out but curiousity got the best of him and he stood from where he was hiding, underneath the tables, and started heading towards the restroom. Little did he know that things were about to change.
