dragon blooded campaign needs some ideas

I've devised a caampain for a group of young outcaste dragon-blooded.  The sworn brotherhood is made up of graduates of Pasiap's stairs and one is an immaculate graduate of the cloister of wisdom.  The characters are in the service of Sesus Naggezzar, leading his mercenary forces in the threshold.  My idea is this, one of Naggezzar's client states is currently under attack from abyssals in service to Walker in Darkness.  The abyssals are attempting to open a new shadowland for their master.  Oblivions glorious reflection has infiltrted the settlement and has succeeded in annoying the hell out of the local agriculture gods, so that famine has struck and and a storm dargon who is attacking and eroding the cliffs.  The real purpose of the second attack is to destroy the grave site of a pre-usurpation solar who's army and impressive burial panply of golems stand in t he underworld between Walker and his potential new realm.  what I'd really like to do is to run two story arcs.  One would be the dragon blodded and their command being sent in to restore order and falling afoul of abyssals and spirits.  The other would feature heroic ghosts in the service of the first age general fighting Walker in the underworld.  I'd like the ghosts to be set up to fail Walker is going to win.  I was also think of making the solar ghost the 14th deathlord after he is defeated by walker.  He resisted the malfeans before but with defeat he'll change his mind.  I'm a little lost as to what to do with underworld arc that would seem sutibly epic.  Any ideas?

How would the 2nd arc be applicable with the DB characters?

Or is this what your attempting to figure out?

Sounds quite interesting.

I beleive that heroic ghost stories have a natural potential to be epic, especially since these particular ghosts still have something to protect, in the form of their pre-Usurpation Solar.  They won't have been tainted by the Usurpation and will fight to the bitter 'end', happily giving their very existense for their general.  Emotion of this magnitude, understanding that you will be in a losing battle, yet knowing how much what you will be standing for means, that should be the focus of something truly epic.

The Solar had a weapon, and item that he has since lost and won't fight without it by his side.  The ghosts must locate it and return it before the raving hordes of the Deathlord.

One thing that's always tempted me about the Underworld are the Icewalker ancestors. They're one of the only large-scale groups holding out against the Deathlords. If your Solar ghost united them, well what's more epic than a barbarian horde? Especially an ancient, mystical horde of noble barbarian dead. And if Walker wins, that has epic implications for the whole Underworld, as the balance of power in the North tips. The Bull of the North could easily get involved, as many of his tribes' revered ancestors appear in visions begging for aid, and then fall silent.

That might be a bit too epic. Unless you're prepared to either tone down the Icewalker dead, or give Walker some serious mojo, I don't think he'd be up to defeating the Icewalkers' ancestors.

Can you imagine the implications of a barbarian horde led by a Solar ghost in the Underworld joining forces with a barbarian horde led by a Solar in Creation?

That's some major epic material right there.

Now thats what I'm talking about. Epictastic.  Great idea's and if I tie in the Bull of the north that would leave my dragon bloods having to reconcile working with anathema.  Plus imagine the political fall out if Negezzars boys got caught aiding the destroyer of the legions.   Brilliant guys what can I say, but thanks.
